String templates
I just played around with the string tempülates now available in one of our updated systems. So i tried
type_descr = cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_data( s ).
CASE type_descr->type_kind.
WHEN cl_abap_typedescr=>typekind_time.
r = |{ s time = user }|.
Where s is an importing parameter of a method having type CLIKE
but i got the error "Format directive TIME cannot be used on the embedded expression".
Inserting a helping variable
ltime type t
and
ltime=s;
r = |{ ltime time = user }|.
solves this, but thats exactly what i want to avoid: a helping variable just for type casting
Is there no way to solve this without a helping variable?
Please don't give hints to use concatenate or write into, i know these and i know how to use this. My intention is to get experience with string templates.
I'm currently developing with them. Used with care they do make code more readable. The downside is that you lose the navigation by double click on the type.
DATA(s) = sy-uzeit.
DATA(st) = |{ s TIME = USER }|.

Generating a report from RTF template using WSDL from ADF
Hi,
I am a newbie to ADF-BIP integration.
I am using the wsdl http://<<ip>>:<<port>>/xmlpserver/services/PublicReportService?WSDL for generating a report from RTF Template in ADF.
We are using Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher Release 11g (11.1.1) and JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.5.0).
I have a couple of merge variables in my RTF template and I am passing these variable using Report Request parameters.
below is code I added for creating the report request.
First I created publicReportService using webservice proxy.
public static ReportRequest getReportRequestFromBIPWithTemplate(String reportFolderOnBIP,
String reportName,
String outputFileFormat,
String template,
HashMap params) {
String reportAbsolutePath = reportFolderOnBIP + "/" + reportName + ".xdo";
ReportRequest repRequest = new ReportRequest();
System.out.println("report path: " + reportAbsolutePath);
repRequest.setReportAbsolutePath(reportAbsolutePath);
repRequest.setAttributeTemplate(template);
repRequest.setAttributeFormat(outputFileFormat);
repRequest.setAttributeLocale("en-US");
repRequest.setSizeOfDataChunkDownload(-1);
System.out.println(params.size());
ParamNameValue[] paramNameValue = new ParamNameValue[params.size()];
ArrayOfParamNameValue arrayOfparamNameValue = new ArrayOfParamNameValue();
Set set = params.entrySet();
Iterator iter = set.iterator();
int i = 0;
while (iter.hasNext()) {
Map.Entry me = (Map.Entry)iter.next();
System.out.println(i + "--->>>" + me.getKey() + " : " + me.getValue());
paramNameValue[i] = new ParamNameValue();
paramNameValue.setMultiValuesAllowed(false);
ArrayOfString values = new ArrayOfString();
if (me.getValue() == null) {
values.getItem().add("");
} else {
values.getItem().add((me.getValue()).toString());
paramNameValue[i].setValues(values);
paramNameValue[i].setName((me.getKey()).toString());
arrayOfparamNameValue.getItem().add(paramNameValue[i]);
i++;
repRequest.setParameterNameValues(arrayOfparamNameValue);
return repRequest;
I generated report response bytes using below code
{code:java}
repRes = publicReportService.runReport(repReq,userID,password);
reportStream = repRes.getReportBytes();I could see the generated PDF but the supplied variables are NOT reflected in place of merge variables.
Ex: In template
Welcome, <<merge variable, userName>>
{code}
Generated PDF should have
{code:java}
Welcome, Hello World
{code}
Instead of the above I am getting
{code:java}
Welcome,
{code}
I am looking for a suggestion, Please help me in this regard.
Thanks,
Satya

HI All, I'm trying to create a Etext template using the API.
EFTProcessor processor = new EFTProcessor();
String template = TemplateLocator.getTemplateFullName(mergReq.getTemplateType(), mergReq.getTemplateName());
processor.setData(input);
processor.setTemplate(template);
processor.setOutput("c:\\test.txt");
processor.process();
This output looks like it creates the xsl and not the text file. Am I missing a step?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Matt

HOW TO ADD TEMPLATE TO DREAMWEAVER?
CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME BASIC STEPS TO ADD A TEMPLATE. I
DOWNLOADED THE .ZIP FILE TO MY DESKTOP.
ANY AND ALL INFO IS APPRECIATED.Unfortunately, The Help Section may not give this person the
help they desire... Which, if I properly deduced the situation, is
"why" they are asking the question. Wou;dn't it be safe to assume
that most have already sought an answer before they waste time at a
forum, getting one more username and password to remember and
brow-beaten by the forum trolls? Here is what the Helpsection says
about the subject:
Searched for "setup template"
Creating a database connection
The final step of the setup process is to create a connection
to the database.
To create a database connection in Dreamweaver:
Open any ASP.NET page in Dreamweaver, and then open the
Databases panel (Window > Databases).
Click the Plus (+) button in the Databases panel and select
OLE DB Connection from the pop-up menu.
The OLE DB Connection dialog box appears.
Enter connTownsend as the connection name.
Click the Templates button.
The Connection String Template dialog box appears.
From the list of templates, select Microsoft Access 2000
(Microsoft Jet 4.0 Provider) and click OK.
Dreamweaver adds a connection string template in the OLE DB
Connection dialog box. The template contains placeholders for
missing information in the connection string.
In the Data Source text box, enter the full path to the
sample database file on your hard disk or the remote
computer’s hard disk. If ASP.NET is running on your local
computer and you installed Dreamweaver to its default location, use
the following path:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Tutorial_assets\data\tutorial.mdb
NOTE
The path may vary depending on where you installed
Dreamweaver.
For example, you might enter this path as the value of Data
Source for a database on your local hard disk:
Data Source=C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Tutorial_assets\data\tutorial.mdb;
Or you might enter this path for a database on a remote
server:
Data Source=C:\users\Denman\Sites\data\tutorial.mdb;
Delete the User ID and the Password lines.
The Access database does not require a user ID or password.
Click Test.
Dreamweaver attempts to connect to the database. If the
connection fails, do the following:
Double-check the path to the database.
Check the settings for the folder Dreamweaver uses to process
dynamic pages (see Specifying where dynamic pages can be
processed).
Deploy the supporting files by selecting Site > Advanced
> Deploy Supporting Files.
Consult Troubleshooting Database Connections in Using
Dreamweaver (Help > Using Dreamweaver).
Click OK.
The new connection appears in the Databases panel.

Java/Template called by JSP Suggestion
Hi, I have a java class called it "A.java" (for the look and feel) that contains the template for the front end(JSP).
Then, the jsp call the "A.java", asking for appropriate template for this page, and the "A.java" returning a string (appended string) containing a bunch of html code.
for examples, inside "A.java"
public String template (String content, String title)
String a = "<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">";
a+= title;
a += "<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5"> <tr>" + content;
a += "<td colspan="2" align="left" valign="top"> <font size="1" face="Impact"> <font size="7">";
return a;
My questions is, is there any better way to return that whole html code in some other way, instead of returning the string appended w/ long html code?
Any Idea will be appreciated, THANKSHint...
Usually, I jsp:include a header.html file at the top and a footer.html file at the bottom.
Anything in between is the JSP...
Sometimes my header.html starts a table, row, cell <td> ...
then the footer.html file finishis it </td>, row, table, etc... The entire JSP output is contained in the cell. Easy to re-use. -
Quickest way to substitute values in a String...
I have a string that represents the contents of a html file. I want to substitute all the custom variables (shown as {value} ) in the String with a new value. I am using the Java REGEXP to find the start/end position of all the custom variables that need to be substituted. The start/end position and new value are placed in a Frag object. After all the REGEXP matches have been found i loop through the Frag objects and place the new value into the String (called template in code below)
String leftSplit = template.substring(0, frag.getStartPos());
String rightSplit = template.substring(frag.getEndPos(), template.length());
String template = new StringBuffer(leftSplit).append(frag).append(rightSplit).toString();My query is on the above 3 lines of code. I probably havent done it in the most efficient manner possible. Any suggestions? I expect to substitute about 20 values per file and there could be maybe 100 files that need processing.I had a problem similar. For this i created a metod that generate the html code in the String using the variables.
For example:
public class HTMLCreator
private String name;
private String html;
public HTMLCreator()
name = " ";
public void HTMLCreate()
html = "<head>" +
"<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\" /> " +
"<title> Hello World HTML</title>" +
"</head>" +
"<body>" +
"Hello World: <strong>" + name +
"</strong>" +
"</body>" +
"</html>";
// You can create the .html file here too
public String getName()
return name;
public void setName(String name)
this.name = name;
}Thats it!

Item template OpenInEditor attribute.
I have an item template where I want OpenInEditor=true when the item is added explicitly by the user via the Add New Item dialog. But, I want OpenInEditor=false when the item is added programmatically via ProjectItems.AddFromTemplate. The core issue
is that our designers add files and we don't want the focus to change away from the designer when we programmatically add those project items.
Thanks in advance.
Kirk FertittaHi Kirk,
Yes, by default this method will automatically open the added project item and activate it. But you could then activate the original document or find the opened document and close it programmatically. For example, in the following code, I just create
a test.cs file, then activate the original document.
DTE dte = GetService(typeof(SDTE)) as DTE;
Document doc = dte.ActiveDocument;
Project project = dte.Solution.Projects.Item(1);
string fileName = "test.cs";
string template = (dte.Solution as Solution2).GetProjectItemTemplate("Class", "CSharp");
ProjectItem pi=project.ProjectItems.AddFromTemplate(template, fileName);
doc.Activate();

}Yes, this appears to be a bug in the C++ compiler. Please file a bug report at
[http://bugs.sun.com]
For the test case, neither iostream nor std::string class is needed to demonstrate the bug. Please use a dummy struct instead of std::string, and remove the iostream I/O. Then you don't need to include any headers.
BTW, when posting code here in the Forum, please put the source code inside code tags. Although this particular example was readable, in general the Forum software will otherwise interpret special characters as formatting directives. -
GetParameter, setAttribute and session values
I am having a problem forwarding values to a jsp from my servlet.
This problem only occurs when multiple users are accessing the same pages to make a payment.
The value is passed from the page to the servlet.
The servlet gets the value using a getParameter.
//Get the value from the previous page
String DocTotal = request.getParameter("DocTotal");
logger.debug("DocTotal: " + DocTotal);
//set the value to pass to next page
request.setAttribute("payAmount", DocTotal);
displayTemplate(CREDITCARDPAYMENT);
displayTemplate code follows.
RequestDispatcher rd = getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher(template);
rd.forward(req, res);
I then set the value in the request object to pass to the next page.
This all seems to work fine for a single user but when I I have more than one user, one user will get a null for value being passed on the next page and the other user will not get the page displayed.
It is like my session values are getting stomped on by the other user.The changes that you have suggested seem to work, but I still have a problem.
One user seems to be able to get the data passed successfully to the next jsp, but the other just gets a blank screen. If the user with the blank screen refreshes they get the screen with the data. It is as if the servlet hangs up when calling the page. I am not sure.
Here is the code that is being accessed with formatting.
protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
throws ServletException, IOException {
req = request;
res = response;
HttpSession session = req.getSession(true);
logger.debug("Made it to the doPost method of DownloadUtilServlet!");
logger.debug("session: " + session);
String cmd = req.getParameter("cmd");
logger.debug("cmd equals: " + cmd);

According to your post, my understanding is that you had Errors TF30162 and TF250025 when creating a New Team Project in TFS2012 with Sharepoint Site on Visual Studio.
The Errors TF30162 seemed that the reports for TFS could not be uploaded due a permission problem. The fix was really easy.
Go to your team foundation server
Open the administration console.
Click on Reporting
Click on Edit
Click on Reports Tab
Enter the credential for the Reports
Save
Click on Start Jobs
In addtion, the problem may be due to the caching done by Team Explorer in Visual Studio. Exiting the copy of VS on the client and reloading it will fix the problem as the updated team process settings will cached locally.
To resolve the Errors TF250025, you will need to register a new internal URL for the SharePoint site using Alternate Access Mappings.
Here are two great blogs for you to take a look at:
http://blogbaris.blogspot.in/2012_08_01_archive.html
http://petersullivan.com.au/2009/11/23/tf250025-and-tf262600-errors-on-team-foundation-server-tfs-2010-project-portal-dashboard/
If still no help, for quick and accurate answers to your questions, it is recommended that you initial a new thread in Visual Studio Team Foundation Server forums.

Thank you for your understanding.

I created a form to generate a pdf report.
its not going too well, so i need some help.
my form only has one button , when pressed I want it to generate a report in pdf format.
i created a when-button-pressed trigger and the following code is below:
I also create a web service proxy jar file,
the jar file is in the FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH, and the jar file is imported from forms builder without any issues.
As of now I am hard coding everything in the code below to see if it works.
The error I am getting FRM-40735 when-button-pressed raised unhandled exception ORA-105100 i dont know why ?

Edited by: Rooney on May 27, 2010 1:27 PM -
Hi,
I am trying to create user accounts via PowerShell instead of the Gui in server 2008 R2 (PowerShell 2.0).
I know how to create a user account with the following Power Shell command below is one from a dummy domain I created to practice.
PS C:\Users\Administrator> New-ADUser -SamAccountName "TestOut" -UserPrincipalNa
me "[email protected]" -GivenName "Test" -Surname "out" -DisplayName "Testou
t" -Name "Testout" -Enabled $true -Path "CN=users,DC=bwcat,DC=net,DC=int" -Accou
ntPassword (Read-Host -AsSecureString "Enter Account Password")
However when doing day to day tasks where I work normally we have a new hire, they contact IT and ask that a user account is created. I will ask who they would like to mirror.
I then would go into the gui pull up the user that they want to mirror right click him and choose copy. This would create a new user account that I would then fill out.
I am wondering if its possible to do this same thing via PowerShell, or if its not an option because it takes more work type up everything than it does to go into the gui and do it.
Anyway thanks for the help.Hi Wilder, hi Mark,
first of all: The tutorial sources Mark posted - especially the book "Powershell 3 in A month of lunches" - are good to get a baseline start. A really great reference, especially when you try to learn it while still dealing with your daily business.
On another note, Wilder: While I fully agree that learning things sequentially is usually the best, I too jumped right in instead of learning how to walk first (though it's been some time now. Fewer years than you'd think, but still ...). So I thought I'd
give you a little aid with that function husk, so you could just stuff interesting bits into an available structure, making use of the fun tools in a useful context (It's fun fiddling around with the commands, but if you have to type in all of them manually
each time, using the GUI is often just faster. Doing fun things and being efficient with it feels even better though ...). So ... while I
do agree with yourself, learn it the Correct & Proper Way, I also do
intend to finish this little explanation about the husk, all the way to the end.
Everything below this paragraph is part of this.

# Copy from old User
$NewUser | Add-ADPrincipalGroupMembership -MemberOf (Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $Template | Where { $_.Name -ne 'Domain Users' })
# Do Whatever else you feel like doing
This is again the same function husk I posted earlier. Only this time, I filled a little logic (the pieces that were already posted in this thread). This time, I'll not only go over each part again ... I'll do it by reposting the segments and trying to show
some examples on how to modify the parts. Thus some of it will be repetitive, but this way all the info is in one spot.
Segment: Comment Based Help
<#
.SYNOPSIS
A brief description of the Copy-ADUser function.
.DESCRIPTION
A detailed description of the Copy-ADUser function.
.PARAMETER GivenName
A description of the GivenName parameter.
.PARAMETER Surname
A description of the Surname parameter.
.PARAMETER Template
A description of the Template parameter.
.EXAMPLE
PS C:\> Copy-ADUser -GivenName "Max" -Surname "Mustermann" -Template "Jonny.Normal"
.NOTES
Additional information about the function.
#>
That's the premier documentation part of a function, that teaches a user what the function does and how to use it. It's what's shown when using the Get-Help cmdlet.
Comment texts are not restricted to single lines however. For example you could replace ...
.EXAMPLE
PS C:\> Copy-ADUser -GivenName "Max" -Surname "Mustermann" -Template "Jonny.Normal"
... with ...
.EXAMPLE
PS C:\> Copy-ADUser -GivenName "Max" -Surname "Mustermann" -Template "Jonny.Normal"
Creates a new user named Max Mustermann and copies the group memberships of the already existing user Jonny Normal to this new User
... and get an explanation on what the example does when using Get-Help with the
-Detailed parameter (Explaining examples is always a good idea).
Segment: Parameter
[CmdletBinding()]
Param (
[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
[string]
$Surname,
[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
[string]
$GivenName,
[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
[string]
$Template
This is the segment that tells Powershell what input your function accepts. Each parameter of Copy-ADUser you set will be available in the next segment as a variable of the same name. You can add additional parameters if you need more information for your
logic. For example, let's add a parameter that allows you to specify what Organization the new user should belong to:
[CmdletBinding()]
Param (
[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
[string]
$Surname,
[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
[string]
$GivenName,
[string]
$Organization,
[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
[string]
$Template
That's how that would look like. You may notice that I didn't add the line with
"[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)] this time. This means you
may add the Organization parameter when calling Copy-ADUser, but you need not.
Segment: Logic
# Create new User
$NewUser = New-ADUser -Surname $Surname -GivenName $GivenName -DisplayName "$Surname, $GivenName" -SamAccountName "$GivenName.$Surename" -Name "$Surename, $GivenName" -PassThru
# Copy from old User
$NewUser | Add-ADPrincipalGroupMembership -MemberOf (Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $Template | Where { $_.Name -ne 'Domain Users' })
# Do Whatever else you feel like doing
This is the part of the function that does the actual work. Compared to the first husk I posted, this time there are two commands in it (and some comments). First, I create a new user, using the information passed into
the parameters -Surname and -GivenName. Then I Copy the group memberships of the user identified by the information given by the
-Template parameter.
So, let's modify it!
# Tell the user you are starting
Write-Host "Starting to create the user account for $GivenName $Surname"
# Create new User
$NewUser = New-ADUser -Surname $Surname -GivenName $GivenName -DisplayName "$Surname, $GivenName" -SamAccountName "$GivenName.$Surename" -Name "$Surename, $GivenName" -PassThru
# Tell the user you are copying Group Memberships
Write-Host "Copying the group-memberhips of $Template to $GivenName $Surname"
# Copy from old User
$NewUser | Add-ADPrincipalGroupMembership -MemberOf (Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $Template | Where { $_.Name -ne 'Domain Users' })
# Do Whatever else you feel like doing
Now after adding a few lines, the logic will tell us what it's doing (and do so before it
is taking action)!
Hm ... didn't we create a change in the Parameter Segment to add an -Organization parameter? Let's use it!
# If the -Organization parameter was set, the $Organization variable will be longer than 0. Thus do ...
if ($Organization.Length -gt 0)
# Tell the user you are starting
Write-Host "Starting to create the user account for $GivenName $Surname in the Organization $Organization"
# Create new User
$NewUser = New-ADUser -Surname $Surname -GivenName $GivenName -DisplayName "$Surname, $GivenName" -SamAccountName "$GivenName.$Surename" -Name "$Surename, $GivenName" -Organization $Organization -PassThru
# If the -Organization parameter was NOT set, the $Organization variable will have a length of 0. Thus the if-condition does not apply, thus we do the else block
else
There! Now we first check whether the -Organization parameter was set (it's not mandatory after all, so you can skip it). If it
was set, do whatever is in the curly braces after if (...). However, if it wasn't set, do whatever is in the curly braces after
else.
And that concludes my "minor" (and hopefully helpful) tutorial on how to use the function husk I posted :)
With this, whenever you find another cool command that helps you in the user creation process, you can simply add it, similar to what I did in these examples.
And if it all didn't make much sense, go through the tutorials in proper order and come back - it'll make much more sense then.
Cheers and good luck with PowerShell,
Fred

Is there any way to change the default name of a document when you open a blank document. What I am trying to do is have my documents save in as a sequential number without Untitled in front of it. So the third document I save would be "0003" and the 50th would be "0050". Is there a way to do this without buying some sort of document management software? Maybe automator?
Here is a script for user template.
--[SCRIPT openAndNameWithAnumber]
Enregistrer le script en tant que Script, Application ou Progiciel : openAndNameWithAnumber.xxx
déplacer le fichier créé dans le dossier
<VolumeDeDémarrage>:Users:<votreCompte>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Pages:
Il vous faudra peut-être créer le dossier Pages et peut-être même le dossier Applications.
menu Scripts > Pages > openAndNameWithAnumber
crée un nouveau document à partir du modèle personnel prédéfini
et renomme le document avec un nouveau numéro.
--=====
+++++++
Save the script as Script, Application or Application Bundle: openAndNameWithAnumber.xxx
Move the newly created file into the folder:
<startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Pages:
Maybe you would have to create the folder Pages and even the folder Applications by yourself.
menu Scripts > Pages > openAndNameWithAnumber
will create a new document from the defined user template
and name it with a new number.
--=====
The Finder's Help explains:
To make the Script menu appear:
Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
Select the "Show Script Menu in menu bar" checkbox.
