Strip in LCD not working.

There is a strip in the touch screen not working, there are no problems besides that. Anybody else had this problem? Any ideas how to fix this?

If the standard troubleshooting steps do not resolve it, which in order are; power your iPhone off and on, Reset, Restore, time to give AppleCare a call (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

  • Dv7-3165dx led backlight lcd not working.

So the other day my laptop screen went out. i read about the dreaded black screen of death. Did a whole bunch of research and learned about the gpu needing reflowing, AND how to reset you computer and the blink codes and all that Jazz. i did the external monitor thing and lo-and behold everyting was fine. All it was, is that the monitor is not turning on. So I proceed to open it up and check all the connections. Everything is connected and all the plugs are clean. Did a full clean on the whole computer. I even reseated all the connections, made sure i have all the proper drivers and everything is up to date. NO conflicts anywhere.
But still no monitor. Still I research again, some people say could be inverter board, but mine is led backlight. So there is no inverter board to change.  I reopen everything and check one more time. One cable looks a little off angle reseat it and try again. STILL no monitor. Shut it down and start it up the next day, BOOM it has lcd life!??!?!?!?!
Start playing everything as normal and test it by putting it into sleep mode. It starts right back up. I turn it off all the WAY. Restart and she is dead again.
This is where I am stuck. The Lcd right angle connector looks a little pinched but I don't know what is causing this. Can you help ME PLEASE!
Again everthign works on external monitor. Sound works, Camera works, just no screen, EXCEPT once until full cold reboot. Then she is dead again.
    Is it the cable?
    Or is it the GPU?
Or is it the LCD screen?
OR something I may not have identified?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi @Sarteret
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that your built in display is not working consistently. It does sound as if there is some stress on the cable, and it is possible that it is an intermittent connection.
Did you notice any difference with the display coming up or not when the built in display is moved? MOre specifically, if it is working and you move the display  a bit on its hinges does it stop working, or if it was not working does it seem like the screen may show some small signs of a connection?
Also you can look at these, although what you are experiencing does sound more like a problem more with hardware, either the cable, or the connectors on either end of the cable, sound like possibilities.

  • Macbook Air to LCD not working?

I just bought the new macbook air and i got an mini displayport to hdmi with it; however, when i plug it in, my lcd tv just stays black and sometimes shows visions of my air. When its black, it reads, "invalid format" at the bottom corner. I have tried to reduce the resolutions, but nothing seems to be working. Can anyone help?

    Greetings obomb2000,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your MacBook Air is not outputting video to your TVs using an HDMI adapter, and you've done a good job of isolating this behavior to either the adapter or laptop.
Here are a few additional steps you can try on your MacBook Air before trying another adapter:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.

  • 000 to 999 counter Circuit LCD Not working Help

I am trying to outline the design for my project for my circuits class I am pretty new to Multisim, but I have tried everything to get the 7 segment 4 digit LCD and or 3 7 segment Hex to display properly I am not sure if its something wrong with my circuit orthe software. I hooked a logic analyzer to the outputs of the counter 4516B IC so I know that it is counting. There must be a error in the way I am connecting my driver 4543s Please help so that I can begin physically building this circuit and wire wrap.
    Thanks in advance.

Have a look at the attached file; I've isolated the two parts you mentioned so that you can see how they work. Press the key A, B, C and D on you keyboard to control the inputs DA to DD and you can see the results on the 7 segment display.
U17, I've turned on the symbol pin name so that you can see which pin is which. A1 to G1 are part of the first 7 segment LED.
Here is a datasheet for the 4543:

    I hope this helps.

  • After 10.5.5 update, MacBook Pro LCD not working.

After I updated to 10.5.5 my MacBook Pro worked fine, until I put it to sleep. Now, the screen won't come back on even after restarting and removing the battery.
Also, I can't even get an external monitor to work.
I can hear the volume idicator sounds working when I adjust the volume so I know that the computer is working, just not the screen.

No guarantee but there are two things that sometimes help:
Reboot into the Safe mode (hold down Shift key on boot) but when you get to the login screen click restart.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the PRAM.

  • Samsung LCD not working in Vista, but fine with OSX. Help!

Ok guys. I have read some of the posts on this topic, but they really haven't been helpful, so I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Samsung 4671 TV, that when connected through DVI to HDMI on my MBP on OSX it works fine, on Vista my TV says mode not supported. Since, it works fine with OSX, I kind of doubt it is the TV. Has anyone had this problem with a similar setup and gotten it to work? Thanks.

I suspect it's the Vista DVI driver that is at fault. A Google search with 'Vista DVI driver apple' shows that others are having your same problem.

  • Screen badly cracked, LCD not working

I was at a hockey game with my brother and as we were walking back to our car, a drunkard who seemed lo look in a hurry bumped into me and know me into a fire hydrant. In horror, I heard a crack in my right pocket and to my dismay a HUGE crack was visible on my iPhone.
The top part seemed shattered and LCD would just show a white screen. Anyone know if Apple can replace or fix my phone? I bought it last year in March.

you are not forced to get it fixed by Apple. there are many service point that can carry out to change your lcd and digitizer for about $180-200. take a look here. http://ajke.net/tech-gadgets/repairing-a-broken-iphone-how-to-fix-cracked-screen .

  • IMac LCD not working after Leopard install

So I have a family pack and installed leopard on three computers so far and they all took forever, so I went to install on my iMac G4 1.25, 1 gig RAM, and I got the install started and when I returned the screen was black. I restarted and nothing. I finally got the computer hooked up to a plasma I have at my house and sure enough the install went just fine. Long story short, my comp is just fine, the LCD just doesn't show anything. The vid card is fine if it shows up on an external monitor, the LCD is connected and functioning because I can adjust the brightness and that still works, just no video
I called AppleCare and was on the phone for, no joke, 1:37:39, WOW, took forever, the guy ended up telling me that it is out of warranty and I need to pay to have it fixed. Anyone have any ideas or what to do?

Anyone have this similar problem? or know what I need to do?

  • Replaced screen power button and lcd not working

I just replaced the lcd/digitizer on my ipod touch 4.  The lcd turns on only if plugged to charge from a dead battery, otherwise, I can't get it to turn on at all.  I can't reset it either, as the power button doesn't work.  More than 1 problem,  I'm sure.Any thoughts?  Itunes doesn't see it either.  I have made sure the connections are good.

Very likely you damaged something when replacing the screen.
    - Try taking it a part and verifying that everything is correct.
    - Take it to someone with more experience.

  • 17" LCD Cinema Display does not work on G4 Tower with ATI 9000

    Hi,
I have a G4 Tower with the original AGP ATI Radeon 9000B video card. My friend gave me this unit just recently but not the original monitor. Well after he got his new 30" Cinema Display he gave me the original 17"LCD Cinema Display. I was so happy, plugged it into the card and fired up the CPU but nothing! just blank! It is not getting any power for the USB ports or anything. My buddy says the monitor was checked before I picked it up. I yanked the Video card out and put it back in, inside the CPU was clean as was the card, put it back together and still nothing. The VGA monitor I have is connected via adapter to the other input and works fine. I tried doing display settings and the Cinema is not even detected. Is the Video card fried on the digital side?
Do I need a new one?
Here is the info on the CPU:
Machine Model: Power Mac G4 (AGP graphics)
    CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.9)
    Number Of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 400 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
    Memory: 1.5 GB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
    Serial Number: XB0120xxxxx
    Any help wold be appreciated.

    Hi MFG,
    Welcome to the discussions.
The G4 AGP Graphics model originally shipped with an ATY Rage 128 graphics card. The ATI Radeon 9000 graphics card that is installed in your G4 is not the original card.
The ATI Radeon 9000 comes with a native ADC port (which you are trying to use). This port is only fully functional if the computer is ADC enabled. Your model of G4 is, unfortunately, not ADC enabled.
You can confirm this by opening the computer and having a look at the AGP slot (where the graphics card is installed). In ADC enabled Macs, there is an extra slot at one end of the AGP slot to accomodate an "extra leg" that the ADC graphics cards (such as the ATI 9000) have. This extra leg supplies the power and USB feed. You'll probably find this extra leg with no slot for it to go into.
What this means is that you are not getting power and USB feed through the ADC port to your display.
If you want to get the 17" ADC Apple LCD display working off this card (it's definitely the LCD display and not the CRT display, please confirm), you will need to use a DVI to ADC adaptor such as this one:
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0111-DVAD
and run it off the DVI output.
You can run your VGA screen at the same time (if you want to) off the ADC output by using this adaptor:
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0117-ADCV
This will work off the ADC port because, although the ADC port is not getting USB or power feed, it's still getting the DVI feed (which is what this adaptor needs).
    Cheers!
    Karl

  • Zen Touch, LCD Display not working at all, but player is f

So I'm on the bus, listening to my Zen Touch, it's working fine, the LCD is working fine. Everything is dandy. Few songs later, I pull it out of my pocket, the LCD is blank. But the player is still going. I can change songs, adjust volume, play all randomly etc etc, but I'm working blind, cause there is nothing on the display whatsoever.
It was a dry day, so it wasnt moisture damage or anything. And I didnt drop it, or bang it. It went from working fine, to going in my pocket, to not working. Really strange.
I'm sure its just defecti've, but I leave for a week long vacation in just under an hour (good timing eh? works fine for 8 months and then bam, 6 hours before I leave the country...ugh **bleep** karma), and I'm praying theres a simple fix I'm just missing. I already tried multiple restarts and resets, and I even charged it for a few hours, thinking the battery was just getting weak. But no dice. I doubt anyone can help me, but I figured it's worth at least a shot.Message Edited by myname on 0-24-2005 05:07 AM

If it won't display anything at all, even after a reset, it's likely there is a hardware problem. You could connect the player to the PC and update the firmware, but I suspect it'll be the same after that, unfortunately.
