• Metadata on iPod from RSS feed (podcast) - ID3 tags or XML-generated?

Hi,
Does the metadata on an iPod come from the ID3 tags or from the XML-generated content in the RSS feed?
Thanks!

Afterthought:
My experience is generally with tweaking tags to get iTunes to merge feeds but if you are downloading podcasts directly to the iPod it may concentrate on the feed information. Short of running tests with deliberately different information in the feed & the tag it is hard to say.

• Stripping Off ?xml version="1.0" ? tag in the final output XML

Hi All,
Is there anyway that we can strip off the tag from the Final XML generated by BPEL.
I have commented out in the XSL mapper file but still it is coming in the output file that is generated.
Any help or pointer is really appreciated.
Thanks,
Dibya

Hi,
I want to strip it off because I am apppending the same in a Java Program.
Please let me know how can it be done.
Appreciate your inputs.

• Xml generated does not confirm to xsd. (xmlns="" added to some tags)

Hi,
I am getting a problem with the xml generated by bpel. The xml generated is:
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<soapenv:Body><xxSunEvsOkcEntlSrvsProcessResponse xmlns="http://xmlns.sun.com/xxSunEvsOkcEntlSrvs"><X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE><X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE_ITEM xmlns=""><CONTRACT_HDR>NK20226742</CONTRACT_HDR><BUP_PROC_TBL><BUP_PROC>ACCR</BUP_PROC></BUP_PROC_TBL></X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE_ITEM></X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE><X_ENTITLEMENT_FLAG>Y</X_ENTITLEMENT_FLAG><X_ERROR xsi:nil="true"/></xxSunEvsOkcEntlSrvsProcessResponse></soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
The client is unable to parse this xml due to the xmlns="" for the tag X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE_ITEM. The problem is due to the copy on the bple. i am copying the entire structure starting from X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE from the plsql DBAdapter service to the bpel output. The xsd used for the client wsdl and the partner link are exactly the same.
Any ideas as to why this could be happening.
Thanks
Anand

Basically this comes down to a complex xsd. I'm assuming but I think you are using namespaces to help manage the xsd.
If you can minimise the xsd references this may help.
here is a basic complex type example
<schema targetNamespace="http://example.com/Gateway"
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<element name="Message">
<complexType>
<sequence>
<element name="Header">
<complexType>
<sequence>
<element name="UniqueID" type="string"/>
<element name="RoutingRule" type="string"/>
<element name="FileName" type="string"/>
<element name="Destination" type="string"/>
<element name="TransportType" type="string"/>
<element name="Attachment" type="string"/>
<element name="MQMessageID" type="string"/>
<element name="MQCorrelationID" type="string"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
</element>
<element name="Payload" type="base64Binary"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
</element>
</schema>
hope this helps.

• No Namespace tag in XML file

Hi
I wish to read an XML file coming from another system and then update my data base using RFC.
The problem is that the incoming file does not contain a namespace tag which XI understands
(For e.g. <ns:UpdateTablexmlns:ns="urn:BuisScenario:TEST">)
Due to which it is not reading the data contained in the file.
If I use the XML file which is generated through XI then it is working fine as it contains the relevant namespace.
But as my XML file is coming from a different system and is not generated by XI, I wish to know how can we add the namespace tag to it so that XI can understand the file. Or is there any other way in which the file can be read.
Has anybody face similar problem?
Hoping for a quick response.
Regards
Satish

Hi Stephan
The problem of namespace is solved now, what I did was, I followed your suggestion and I have left the field for XML Namespace in the message type empty and the scenario works. Now I am facing another problem.
My incoming XML file looks like as given below:
<Case_Details>
<Case1>                          <Case_EPC>1232312313313</Case_EPC>               <Item_ID>PR001</Item_ID>                    <Quantity>50</Quantity>                    </Case1>
<Case2>                         <Case_EPC>1232312313314</Case_EPC>               <Item_ID>PR002</Item_ID>                    <Quantity>200</Quantity>                    </Case2>
<Case3>                         <Case_EPC>1232312313315</Case_EPC>               <Item_ID>PR003</Item_ID>                    <Quantity>520</Quantity>
</Case3>
</Case_Details>
The problem is when I duplicate the cases while testing the message mapping I do not get the desired result as the tag names are different. The mapping which I have done does not cater for Case1, Case2, Case3 coming in the incoming XML file, Instead of this only case tag comes without the numbering(1,2,3) due to which my fields are not getting populated.
The sample XML generated from my mapping is given below.
<Case_Details>
<Case>                          <Case_EPC>1232312313313</Case_EPC>               <Item_ID>PR001</Item_ID>                    <Quantity>50</Quantity>                    </Case>
<Case>                         <Case_EPC>1232312313314</Case_EPC>               <Item_ID>PR002</Item_ID>                    <Quantity>200</Quantity>                    </Case>
<Case>                         <Case_EPC>1232312313315</Case_EPC>               <Item_ID>PR003</Item_ID>                    <Quantity>520</Quantity>
</Case>
</Case_Details>
So in this scenario the different cases do not have numbering and thus the mapping fails when the original XML file is the input.
Kindly advice what is to be done.
Regards
Satish

• Stripping tags with sed?

Hello,
I saw a tip at macosxhints describing how to extract text from the new MS word docx files. I thought it would be fun to come up with a shell solution, since it really just involves stripping tags from an xml file. I wanted to use sed, but being BRE challenged, I resorted to perl which seems a little heavy handed:
unzip -p some.docx word/document.xml | perl -pe 's/<[^>]>|[^[:print:]]//g'
Is it possible to do this with sed? Well it must be, I just can't get my head around it.
Cole
15 PB   Mac OS X (10.3.4)

Hi Cole,
When in doubt, ask here: sed and awk a specialty. Sed is probably a better solution in terms of speed, since there's far less overhead. Fortunately, everything in your regular expression is valid in extended regular expressions. Sed doesn't use those by default but can made to do so with the "-E" option. I could swear that it didn't used to be so and it may not be a feature universal to sed but it works perfectly with Apple's current version:
unzip -p some.docx word/document.xml | sed -E 's/<[^>]>|[^[:print:]]//g'
This command will remove everything that looks like a tag or is non-printable. Just remember that regular expressions are "greedy"; they match as much as is possible. Therefore, in a document containing the literal "less than" character, '<', would cause everything between that character and the next tag to be removed. Of course the "less than" character would doubtless be a problem in an XML document and I don't know how it's handled. Probably the easiest way would be the way I did it above, using the HTML entity, <. Anyway, this isn't likely to be a common problem but you could avoid it with the following regular expression:
<[^<>]>|[^[:print:]]
It also excludes the "less than" character in the first character class. I'll bet that the "less than" character is illegal in tag names.

• Unable to generate output due to huge xml generated

Hello All,
I am working on etext templates for generating EFT payments.
When the payments are below 100 then the output is fine. But when it is crossing 100 payments then it is not producing any output.
This is a standard rtf which I have modified and added some xpath conditions in the OutboundPayment table. I think because of xpath conditions the xml structure is modified internally and the xml generated is very huge.
When I have used the original rtf without adding any conditions the output is produced for any number of payments.
Can any one provide some help on this.

sorry posted in wrong forum

Hi,
Is there any way to include html tags in xml?
For Example, I'm using xsl to get the value of FIELD_1 from fetch.xml
In fetch.xml, I have the tag
<FIELD_1>
Testing font and color

But If I tried to read the value from xsl like <xsl:value-of select="FIELD_1"/> I'm just gettig the display 'Testing font and color' without the specified font and color....
How to achieve this?
Thanks

Thanks for the input.
I tried with the below code

• Problem in XML Generator

Hi,
I am facing a problem that i have created a form by XML Generator(Wizard) but after successfull complition there is User-id and Password two times and when i fill it,,it gives the error that "User-Id and Password is incorrect".
So plz tell me that which User-id and Password ll be given....
Thanx
Rai

Hi Rai,
There's no need to have multiple accounts for SDN - I just don't know what you mean by "XML Generator" ... (the B1DE toolset has an internal module that generates XMLs (for menus etc) - and actually that's called "XML Generator", but I don't think that you can call it explicitly...)
...maybe you were talking about the "...UDO form generator" (a separate tool in B1DE)?
...but anyway, I suspect that the reply from Yogesh was what you were looking for?
...sorry for the confusion,
Frank

• Remove XML tags from XML element in Oracle

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to remove all the xml tags from xml element with banks, currently I'm using replace 4 times to replace all different types of xml tags, performance is really bad. is there any better option to remove xml tags from xml data leaving the actual data. please find the example data below.
select
TO_CLOB(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE
('<Concatcolumn><ConcatGroupID>MyText Data goes here </ConcatGroupID><ConcatGroupID>Data agian</ConcatGroupID></Concatcolumn>','<ConcatGroupID>'),'<Concatcolumn>'),'</ConcatGroupID>',';'),';</Concatcolumn>')) AS Concatcolumn
from dual
**************Out put*************
MyText Data goes here ;Data agian

One way is to use xquery:
SQL> with t as
select xmltype('<Concatcolumn>
<ConcatGroupID>MyText Data goes here </ConcatGroupID><ConcatGroupID>Data agian</ConcatGroupID></Concatcolumn>'
) xml from dual
select xmlquery('string-join(//text(), ";")' passing xml returning content).getclobval() xml from t
XML
MyText Data goes here ;Data agian
1 row selected.

• How to make the tags in XML file case insensitive

Hi,
I have a ReadXML class which reads an xml file. This class also has a method which receives a string-child from another class and uses this string-chile to match it with the child tag in the xml file, and returns the child tag's value.
Now, my problem is this, the child tag in xml may be in a case different from the case of the string-child received from another class.
How do I modify it, so the program does not return a null pointer exception because the strings did not match for want of uppercase or lowercase letters.
Thanks
Sangeetha

I'm not sure what you are getting at. Is a string child the contents of a node treated as text?
If you are trying to match a child node regardless of case I doubt this is possible as the XML standard says an XML document is case sensitive so if your parser ignored case it would not be XML complient.
Hope this helps.

• How to include CDATA in xml generated from XQuery

I need to include Cdata in the xml generated from my xquery which is given below:
I tried using XMLCDATA, but not getting the desired output. What am I doing wrong?
SELECT XMLQuery('<InsUpdDel>
for $crv in ora:view("RELATION")
return
<first>
<eff_date>{$crv/ROW/EFF_DATE/text()}</eff_date>
{$crv/ROW/SOURCE/text()}
<key>
<fld>

<val>XMLCDATA({$crv/ROW/FROM_ENT_TYPE/text()})</val>
</fld>
<fld>

<val>{$crv/ROW/FROM_ENT_ID/text()}</val>
</fld>
</key>
</first>}</InsUpdDel>'
RETURNING CONTENT)
FROM dual;
The output I get is XMLCDATA(C), while the desired output is C

Forgive me my vanity to think I can contribute by kicking doors open that are probably already wide open....I might create more confusion, but perhaps it helps some of the readers of this thread....
In general it is not such a good idea to use "string" functions to create (serialized) XML. XML tools (including Oracle XML DB) go through a lot of effort to make sure that when a "native" XML structure is serialized to a string, the XML rules are strictly obeyed (e.g. special character escaping).
Just assume e.g. that the $i/Reference from above contains something like <
The resulting XML would not be valid.
More info on serializing XML in the context of XQuery is available from
- http://www.w3.org/TR/xquery/#id-serialization
- http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt-xquery-serialization/
- http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt-xquery-serialization/#XML_CDATA-SECTION-ELEMENTS
Unfortunately I do not think Oracle XML DB currently implements these parts of the spec (perhaps 11g will)...leaving the OP's question unanswered.
Anyway, if going the route of serializing the XML through string functions, it is always good to realize the dangers of such an approach.

• No XML generated

Hello experts,
I have problem with generation of XML stack file for ERP Enhancement Package 4.
I get warning message "No XML generated" in Maintenance Optimizer on the step 2.2 (Select OS/DB-Dependent Files)
I get this message for Enhancement Package 4 only. For others products (like Stack 15 or EhP3) all ok.
I have Solution Manager 7.0 with EhP1, SP stack 19.
Thanks for advance.

Hi Tomasz,
I did following steps:
1. Remove existing logical components of Java in SMSY
2. Import the current data into SLD
3. Create new logical components for Java in SMSY
4. Try to load EhP4
