Stripping Off Contacts from iPod

My boyfriend has a zillion contacts on his iPod and I'd like to get them quickly into my Address Book. The iPod is available but HIS address book is not... does anyone have a thought on how to pull his contacts off... maybe this involves third-party software... In a more general way, is it possible to get iPod contact information into the Address Book (rather than the other way 'round)
Thanks for your help, friends.

Select the iPod in iTunes.
Enable disk use.
Ooen the iPod and open the Contacts foler.
You should be able to drag the .vcf file to Address book and it will add them automatically.

I need to remove the contacts from the iPod. HOW?
I unchecked the 'sync' mark under contacts tab and applied, but it will not remove contacts from iPod
    Please help.

    1. Make sure iPod is set up to be used as an external hard disk.
    2. Connect iPod to your computer. The iPod appears as a hard disk on your desktop or in windows explorer.
    3. Open the iPod hard disk.
    4. Open the folder named "Contacts".
    5. Find the vCard for the contact you want to delete.
    6. Drag the vCard to the recycle bin.

  • How do I transfer contacts from iPod touch 2nd gen to iPod touch 5th gen

I just got a new iPod touch (5th gen) and can't figure out how to transfer the contacts from my old iPod touch (2nd gen). I was able to sync my contacts in the 2nd gen iPod touch with my Google account when it was connected to iTunes, but I don't see that option now with the 5th gen touch. It only looks like it can sync to iCloud.

  • How to delete calendar and contacts from iPod Touch

I have sold my iPod Touch and did a restore before I send it to the buyer. I was able to delete everything except my contacts and calendar info. I have the software upgrade and do not want to lose this! Other than going in and deleting each item one by one, is there another way to get that info off of the iPod. And, I did uncheck all of the boxes in iTunes for calendar, contacts, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The software upgrade is tied to your iTunes account, not the your iPod. It'll stay on as long it doesn't have to be restored, but once the buyer restores it, there'll be no way for him to get it back.
Still, if you completely restore it, the contacts shouldn't be on there anymore.
    Hope I could help.

  • Can't remove Contacts from iPod.

Even though the Sync Contacts From check box is unchecked under the Contacts Tab in iTunes (Version 8). My contacts are not being removed from my 5th Generation 30GB iPod.
The contacts are taking up space on my full iPod and wanna make more space for music.

Do a restore on the iPod. That will clear it out.
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • Can't transfer contacts from ipod touch to ipad mini!!

    Hi
My son has several contacts on his ipod touch (5th gen). I simply want to move these to the new ipod mini we’ve just bought him.
I’ve followed all the articles on the Apple support pages but can’t figure out how to do this.
Synced old ipod via itunes to sync contacts etc
I’ve set up new ipad mini with pc and itunes
    ipad has latest IOS
    Synced new ipad etc
Whatever I do I simply can’t get the contacts on his ipod to appear in his new ipad mini!
The only thing I can think of is that he created the contacts mainly for face time purposes so they only exist on the ipod. That said I thought syncing would do the trick.
Any advice would be much appreciated as I’m determined to do this on principle now!
    Many thanks
    Simon

if worst comes to worse, you can always re-download purchased apps (free of charge) in iTunes. see _*How to redownload purchased apps from the App Store*_.

  • HT1351 Removing contacts from iPod nano

I am synching my iPod nano to iTunes and cannot get it to remove my contacts.  I have deselected contacts, but they remain on the iPod after synching is completed.  What should I do?

Is the place where you "deselected contacts" is on the iPod's Info tab, with the checkbox that says Sync Contacts?
If so, and that did not work due to some data issue on the iPod, you may need to do a Restore on the iPod from the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod (including that contacts data), re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  Since you are using automatic syncing to load the iPod, all of your songs and other content must be in your iTunes library, so it should not be too tedious to set up the other tabs to sync like before.

  • Retrieving Contacts FROM Ipod Touch

I sync my ipod with my Outlook for contacts, calendar etc. Last week my contact sub groups were gone and all I had left was the defalt "contacts" folder with no contacts in it. I have not synced my ipod since so it has all the contacts I had before. If I sync it, will it transfer back? Or will it replace the contacts on the ipod with what is in Outlook, in this case no contacts.

I think in the "Info" tab in iTunes, there is an option to replace the info on the computer from the iPod touch.

  • Amending Calendar or Contacts from iPod dont sync.

I have my ipod synchronised with exchange and all works fine except for amending entries from the ipod.
The ipod will sync new entries made from the ipod or any other device we use, but when changing a date, or any filed in the calendar or change contact details, they do not change on the exchange server.
I have even created a new entry on the ipod, save it and then go back to it and modify it. When I look at the server, it has the new entry, but not the modifications.
I have never has this with any other device.
I own the iPod 16GB (2nd Gen) with Version 2.2

  • Restore contacts from iPod to MS Oultook 2007

I had to update my computer. Installed Vista and MS Office 2007. backed up almost everything, but forgot to backup address book from/in outlook. Is there a way to get my contacts that were synced from MS Outlook 2003 and are on my iPod back onto my computer and into MS Outlook 2007?

    1. Make sure iPod is set up to be used as an external hard disk.

  • How to restore contact from iPod Touch to iPod Nano in iTunes

I have all my contacts on my iPod Touch and they are backed up onto my computer.
I got a iPod Nano so I created a new Library of Playlist I wanted on the Nano.
Synced the Music fine but I would like to put my Contacts and possibly Apps onto the Nano.
Is there a way to do this?
If not I do also see that it tells me to add contacts within iTunes but I'm not sure how to do that.
    I have iTunes 11.0.1
    Thanks,
    Debbie

    You don't.
As far as know this is not a feature of the ipod nano.

  • Can I transfer Contacts from my Ipod Touch to my new Iphone 4s?

My Iphone is at home waiting for me right now and I cant wait to get off work!!! I lost my phone a week ago and switch to Verizon and orderd the iPhone 4s. I got my contacts from online and put them into my iPod Touch so I wouldnt lose them, but I dont know where that saves them when I dock to the Computer... When I plug in my new iPhone will my contacts sync? I am hoping I dont have to re-enter them all.

I have tried repeatedly to get my new 4s synced with the backup from my iPod touch gen 2 in iTunes.  Neither the contacts, calendar, or notes will show up on my iPhone.  I have used multiple settings in iTunes and have tried downloading from the cloud, but nothing seems to work.  Any advice?
