Stripping old web pages of font tags : best way?

I'm converting very old HTML files (we're talking pre-CSS
here) for
re-publication. These files date back to 1997.
Is there some sort of wildcard search expression I can use to
strip hundreds
of web pages of old HTML font tags (so I can then apply new
CSS values to
those pages manually)?

You can do a sitewide strip of font tags using DW's Find and
Replace.

How can I delete an old web page ?? I have created a web page some time ago and now I want to delete it but i do not know how to do it: can anyone help me ?

Delete the web page where it is published.
If it is published to MobileMe, then you need to log into MobileMe and go to your iDisk or mount it on your desktop and then delete it from your Web/sites folder.
If you have published to a server, then you'll need to download Cyberduck, Filezilla or Transmit - all dedicated ftp programmes to connect with your host/server and then delete your old files from the server.
It really is not hard.

Backup the old iPad first, either to itunes or iCloud.
Once that is done, setup the new iPad from the backup. Choose the Restore from Backup option when setting up the new iPad.

When that is done, wipe the old iPad clean and set up as new.
Settings->General->Reset->Erase all Content and Settings
You can create a new Apple Id when you set up the iPad again.

Printing web page with select tags in IE9 and a .cfm file-only the original selected option prints

My web page has a select tag and cfselect tags and when I print the page with a different option other than the originally selected option the print for both types of select tags reverts back to the original selection and ignores the new selection. This happens in IE9 and .cfm files but not when the page is printed in IE8 or IE7 modes (tried in the F12 Developer Tools.) It also needs to be a .cfm file. FireFox printed the pages correctly for any combination.
This was done on a Dell and ThinkCentre computers under Windows 7. Also, I was able to reproduce the same problem on an different university web site where a selection box would revert back to the original selection for printing on a .cfm page and would print properly on a .PHP page at the same site.
For my site, I used a print button which calls print() and right clicked and chose print and got the same results no matter which method was used. I only had the right click method on the third party web site.
I know this is probably a bit narrow an issue but, any help would be appreciated.

It appears that it is probably an IE9 bug.
I simplified the problem by turning the page source taken from the brouser of the original .cfm into an html file and found that it would still print improperly.
When I eliminated the various parts of the file I found that it would print correctly only when I removed the first line, the "DOC type" line.
The page will print the newly selected option but then I lose the style sheet.
If it does not work in an HTML file it must be IE. It is not the .cfm. The reason that it did not work for .cfm files, is that they always have a "DOC type" statement.
I have put the issue into an MSDN forum in addition to the one mentioned previously.

When I print a web page, the font size is always the default (which is good for screen reading, but too big for printing), even when I use Text Zoom to make it smaller.

When you zoom in, it is like using a magnifying glass - the underlying image remains unchanged, as you have found out.
You may be able to enlarge the bird to some extent without distortion and without pixilation by resampling.
Go image menu>resize>image size. Be sure that "constrain proportions " is checked in the dialog.

Do the following> on you right hand down corner there are a view ///// dashed lines. Now place the mouse pointer on it an drag the Safari window to the size (maximum size) you like.
Reload the open Safari window (any web page is OKAY). Now quite Safari application> Relaunch Safari.
If this is not working right a way do the above again ...

Can TM find a web page that I can no longer find on the web. I know it was there somewhere. How would I use TM to find the web page?

Time Machine can't find it, since it wasn't on your machine, but you can look at a web archive site, like this one.

4 page form letter setup, best way

Is the best way to set up a report that has 4 different pages to insert 4 detail sections. Page 1 would be Section 3 (details a), page 2 would be detail b, etc. We have no need for headers or footers. Then to get page 1 to page break at the end of the page set New Page After to true. We have experimented with this but we are getting blank pages before and after a page but not consistently for every page if that makes sense. The 4 pages will reference the one row of data from the data set to print name and address on first page and various other details on pages two thru four. Then start over again with page one for the next row in the database.
Is this the wrong way to set up a four page report?

I am scanning all of our old photographs. What is the best way to save them

I'm assuming that your old photographs are valuable to you and you don't want to lose them. If this is the case I would plan on some kind of redundant backup scheme. Har drives fail. Recordable DVDs become unreadable. Any method could fail. If you plan to access them frequently I would definitely have them on a hard drive. In addition I might put them on some other media. Three separate copies stored in three different locations and not in the same residence is the best way to make sure the photo files are preserved should something happen in one of the locations.

Need to transfer Logic from old Macbook Pro to new iMac - Best Way???

Hey Everybody. I've got a new iMac showing up tomorrow which I couldn't be more excited about. I need to transfer/add all my Pro Audio Apps (Logic, Ableton, Native Instruments, Rob Papen, etc.) as well as iWork to the new computer but don't know the best way to do it. I could try and learn to do a formal "migrate" but I would prefer a clean install of all my programs.

When you turn on your machine for the first time it will ask you if you want to migrate from another Mac, simply choose yes and follow the on-screen directions. If your old machine has a Firewire 800 connection get a cable like this if it only has FW 400 then get a cable like this. You may be able to find these at your local computer store if not then as you can tell Amazon has them as well as many other online suppliers.
Your migration should be very straight forward, simply ensure your old machine is has run all software updates and is in good working order. As in any many change ensure you backup the old machine prior to starting the operation. Within a few hours all the information should should have migrated and you will be able to pick up where you left off on the old machine.

I am going to sell my macbook air (2011) as I am replacing it with a macbook pro retina. I want to remove my files and programs from it before I sell it. What is the best way to go about this?

1) Perform a Time Machine or Cloned image backup of your system.
2) Test the Clone tomake sure it works, by booting to it (using the option key).
3) Boot to the Recovery Partition, then perform an erasure, followed by a reinstallation of the OS.
4) Shut off the Mac, after instllation and before the reboot. This will permit the next user to experience a "fresh out of the box" experience.
5) Use the Time Machine or Cloned image to migrate your apps, users & files to your new system, using SETUP ASSISTANT. Do not use Migration Assistant.

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.

Help! how do i look up an old web page

Hi I'm hoping someone can help me. I placed a rather large online order yesterday and got all the way to the confirmation page but I didn't end up writing down the confirmation number.
Today the company tells me they have no trace of the order and won't honour the promotion from yesterday unless I can provide them with proof I placed the order. I'm hoping if I can figure out a way to get back to seeing the page of my shopping cart from yesterday (if there's some image capture in my safari history or something) then I can send that to the company and get my order.
Does anyone have any ideas?

The page or window under the current page shows through when printed but not when viewing current page or window.

Did you try Safe Mode?
