Struck at R12 Home Page

Hi,
I have installed R12 (12.0.4) on Oracle VM. My installation went successful.
I have started the Listener, Database and the Applications. All these went fine and I am successfully entering applications Home Page. But I am not successful to open any form from here. I am struck at this point from past few days with out any possible solution.

I have checked in the forum for the same problem. You have suggested them to run make –f ins_forms.mk install. Here everyone has got FRM-92101 errorThat's right. However, running "make -f ins_forms.mk install" could also be helpful in resolving the same issue you encounter. Have you tried to run the command?
I am using knqueror browser. What if you use a different browser (since konqueror is not a supported browser for R12), are you able to access the forms?

R12 home page login error (couldn't find solution in forum)

Hi,
I have installed R12 successfully on windows 2003. Apps was working fine till yesterday.
I did not shut down my system properly yesterday. When I restarted my system and tried to open R12 home page, I am getting the following error.
"The requested URL /OA_HTML/OA.jsp was not found on this server."
As per metalink, I am trying to re-compile all JSP files.
When i execute the command "perl -x ojspCompile.pl -compile", it is throwing the following error...
"The application has failed to start because perl56.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Could you please help on this issue.

Could you please explain the following step in detail:-
"*Did you source the env file as applmgr before running this command?*"It means running the env file (APPS<CONTEXT_NAME>.cmd) under %APPL_TOP% to set all environment variables.
And I am not able to find perl56.dll anywhere in my oracle directory or perl directory. Any suggestions.Search all directories for this file (in addition to %Windows%\system32 directory).
BTW, what Metalink note you are referring to?
Did you confirm that all application services are up and running? Did you try to run AutoConfig and see if it completes successfully?

R12 Home Page - Notification Worklist

Hi,
I haven't found information if the Worklist is appearing by default on the home page of R12 or does one has to add it there? Now in my version it is there automatically but from the manuals I have understood that it has to be added there if wanted to appear on the home page.

I am trying to implement solution as per doc id: 414170.1. However when i try to run autoconfig at database level, it was throwing error that it is unable to connect to database.
Then I checked listener status using "lsnrctl status". I do see instance listener in BLOCKED status.
When I check metalink for the BLOCKED status reason, they asked to restart the database in OPEN mode.
I am trying to login to database but it says "ORA-12560 TNS:protocol adapter error". When I try to STOP and START (using lsnrctl start command), it shows as "The listener supports no services".

From the above errors, it seems the database port is used by some other application, so I would suggest the following:
- Reboot the machine and see if you can start the listener
- If you still get the same error, change the port number in listener.ora file to something other than 1521 (for example, 1522) and try to start the listener then

EBS Home Page color is trun on blue instead of the origenal color

Hi ALL :
In My production Instance , after bounce the services , i found that APPS home page has a different color than usual , its turned to blue color
My environment installed in HPUX Itanium
EBS version : 12.1.1

Has any up-gradation/ new patch been applied your apps instance ( 11i to R12 ) ?? the look and feel of 11i and R12 is different altogether .
The blue theme come up by default with release 12 versions .
where are you getting in blue theme in home page , are accessing via JSP home page or form based screen ?

EBS/Apps home page format

We recently installed a new 12.1.3 instance and I noticed that the Apps homepage style had changed slightly from 12.1.2. The responsibilities/menu are now expandable folders contained entirely on the left-hand side of the screen.
I assumed this was a change between .2 and .3. However, I've been told it's actually a setting (profile option or framework level). I'd like to change it back so that the responsibilities appear in the left "pane", the menu for the responsibility chosen appears in the middle "pane", and the favorites are in the right "pane".
Anyone know where/what this setting is?

Cannot View Database Home Page After Upgrading to XE 3.2 on Windows XP

I have recently upgraded from APEX 3.1 to APEX 3.2 on my Oracle 10g XE database running on Windows XP SP3.
Unfortunately after successfully completing the upgrade and starting the services when I try and visit the Start -> All Programs -> Oracle Database 10g Express Edition -> Go To Oracle Database Home Page I am receiving a page cannot be found error (or broken link message, depending on the browser I try IE7, Firefox 3.0.10 or Chrome 2.0).
The link I am being directed to is:
http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex (I have an entry in my Hosts file referring this to localhost).
How can I tell if Port 8080 is still open and accessible? I am using the embedded web pl/sql gateway and tried reconfiguring it again by running apxconf.sql as SYS:

I have turned off my Firewall, checked against multiple browsers.... HELP!!!!
I've backed out the 3.2 upgrade and reinstalled and receieved the same issue. The next step is to unistall the XE database and reinstall, but I'm loathed to do that without seeking some responses from this Forum.

Thank you taking the time to reply.
I had previously tried all those url combinations and still no luck.
I also found out about displaying the HTTP port number. And you were right it was listening on the default 8080. I disabled it and re-enabled it on port 9080 to see if that made a difference but it didn't so I decided to remoce Oracle XE database and go through the reinstallation and subsequent upgarde to APEX 3.2. Everything appera sto be working fime now.
One point of note is that if I view the Listener status now I notice another line from what I had previously referring to the HTTP listener, although my listener.ora file never changed (apart from having the TNS Listener port resuming to the default 1521).

How can I move apps from one sheet of the home page to another?

Define "cannot rearrage." Exactly what did you do and exactly what happened?
Did you press on the icons until they wiggle, slide them to the page you want and then press the home button?

Is there a way to open new tabs in the home page or some other link?

When I open a new tab using the "+" symbol I get a blank page. I would like new tabs to open in my home page, or, if possible, a different page, like my favorite web browser, which is what I usually want when I open a new tab.
Can this be done? I can't find the right preference for it, assuming that's the right place for such an option.

Nothing beats about:blank in my opinion for clarity and for tab history.

How do I get back my AT&T Yahoo Home Page and Tool Bar?

I am a senior citizen with little computer knowledge. I cannot cope with changes to my home page because I do not have the knowledge/skills to undo the changes your program has installed.
AT&T is my Internet Service Provider. Firefox is my browser. Right? When I installed the newer version of Firefox it usurped my AT&T Yahoo Home Page and Task Bar. I want my old home page and task bar back.
I used system recovery to go back a couple hrs. prior to when the new Fire Fox was installed and lost Firefox & At&T. Was in a great state of frustration when I couldn't get system recovery up after going to control panel. System recovery finally popped up again and I went forward to after installation of new Fire Fox and have system up again.
I am unable to read up on new Fire Fox program now. All I want is my old AT&T Yahoo Home Page back with their Task Bar. I can learn new Fire Fox as time permits.
For a non-profit organization I find Fire Fox quite aggressive. That is good when mobilizing us to write or call Congress but not to take over my Home Page.
Will have to admit new Fire Fox sure is faster.
I do want to commend you for taking a stand against what Congress is trying to do and also for your non-intrusive, not obnoxious way of asking for donations. You help inform us and let us know of your need and anyone that is not a free loader with a conscience, I think, would make a donation according to what one can afford. Keep up the good work and the good fight..........please do help me restore my home page back to AT&T with the old task bar.

Why are the menus (File, Edit, View, etc.) missing?
If you're using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you now have an orange Firefox button that takes the most common functions and puts them in one menu.
To temporarily show the old style menus, just press the Alt key.
To have them shown all the time, right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip and check Menu Bar in the pop-up menu.

Pressing the Alt key didn't work for me but the latter instruction did the trick.
Check the Navigation Bar too on the pop-up menu if you want your Refresh and Home Icons to show. It took quite a few right-clicks for me before the pop-up menu I needed came up so keep trying until the right menu comes up.

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How to I get new tabs to open to the correct home page?

When I open new tabs they just go to a Google Search page, which is very frustrating, especially when I open a new tab and try to type in the URL bar but as soon as it finishes loading Google it blanks out what I typed in and goes to the Google site. In other words, "blank" new tabs do not open to the Favorites page or even my home page. They open to Google. How do I change that? In other words, how do I get new tabs to stop opening to Google and start opening to either my home page or the Favorites screen? Thanks!

You can modify the browser.newtab.url pref on the about:config page and set it to the desired page to open.
