Structural profile for HR conflicts with MRS

Hi,
We have ECC 6.0 and implemented mini-HR for mainly CATS use and to create the organisation for MRS (multi-resource scheduling). Now we are facing problems with managers who need to have a structural profiles to limit their access to HR information.
A manager cannot execute transaction /MRSS/PLBOORGM - Planning Board for RP Node
The other problem is that structural profiles (evaluation path O-S-P) seem to be interfaring with IW32 when user tries to change technical person (i.e. a partner) or sales order.
CATS is classic, not CATS for Srvice providers which also brings problems with those users who have to accept hours or enter hours (CAT2) for other than their own subordinates; i.e. they are project managers.
Any suggestion for structural profile corrections, evaluation path that should be used in addition to the "normal" O-S-P for the manager role?
Help is highly appreciated.
BR,
Pia

Hi,
Firstly P_ORGINCON is used for context solutions where you want users to access specific infotypes for selected Objects in the Org structure and simultaneously perform other activities for some seperate set of Objects.
P_ORGINCON won't understand the concept of exclusion.
3) we assign to the manager a second structural profile in exclusion mode and a role with with a P_ORGINCON in order to exclude some infotypes.
Why do you want to design such approach?
Please remember when you assign PD profile to a position and check the exclusion Box, it means what all objects returned by that structural profile should be excluded from entering into T77UU and INDX table, when you run RHBAUS* programs.
After reading through your Business requirement, I would only suggest you to drive this design through Function Modules and included those FMs in your structural.
If required create multiple structural add them in separate nodes in P_ORGINCON in combination of Infotypes.
In othe words, it is possibile to assign a structural profile to a user in exclusion mode and use this structural profile with a P_ORGINCON in order to exclude some inforypes ? -
NO, assigning structural in exclusion mode will only exclude objects which are being pulled up by that structural and using the same with P_ORGINCON means, user will be able access set of Infotypes for all Objects in the Org Structure apart from the ones excluded because the structural assigned in exclusion mode.
Hope this answers your question.
Thanks,
Deb

  • Which Camera Calibration Profile for Leica M8 with LR3?

I see there are 4 camera profiles for the Leica M8 that all produce significantly different results - ACR3.6 and 4.4 and Adobe Standard and Camera Standard. Any advice on which to use and when?
    Thanks in advance.

ACR 3.6 (this is the Adobe standard profile) when support was first introduced.
ACR 4.4 (with this version of ACR) Adobe created an updated standard profile.
Adobe standard, this is the latest profile introduced during ACR 5.x, just a new naming method
Camera standard, this is a profile created by Adobe to simulate the profile by the M8 to produce in camera jpegs.
Use the one that pleases you most, as a starting point then create your own presets to make further adjustments.

Nice. Only trouble there seems to be multiple entry for same mac address there for same resource id.
So when I try to get them as substring i get multiple copies of same mac address.
But looks like this will work as solution to this problem.
So far I was doing it this way (And i am sure there is clearer way to do it.)
    SUBSTRING((SELECT ',' + CAST(t2.MACAddress0 AS VARCHAR(40))
FROM (SELECT DISTINCT ResourceID, MACAddress0 FROM  v_GS_NETWORK_ADAPTER) t2

  • Profile parameter for passwords - conflicting documentations.

    Greetings!
I've encountered an issue with profile parameter login/password_max_idle_productive
    Integrated help in SU01 says:
You can use the profile parameter login/password_max_idle_productive to define the point as of which the validity of the productive password ends. The time is calculated from the date of the last password change plus the number of days specified in the profile parameter. Password-based logon is then not possible from this point.
This makes this parameter redundant (we have login/password_expiration_time ).
SAP Library says (see link below):
Specifies the maximum period for which a productive password (a password chosen by the user) remains valid if it is not used.
Which suggests that the time after which passwords are considered expired is calculated from last logon date plus whatever is the parameter value.
SU01 help specifies explicitly how this parameter works but it conflicts with a more ambiguous description found in the SAP Library. The observed system behavior on logon is in line with SU01 help, but report RSUSR200 does not list the user as having an expired productive password.
We're on ECC 6.0, release 701 with support package 3. I could not find any SAP notes relating to this issue.
Has anyone encountered this issue before or have I just run into an odd glitch?
    [SAP Library|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/22/41c43ac23cef2fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm]

It sounds like you have a requirement to set the expiration time (when the user has to change the password) which is for a different user group than those for which you want to disable an idle password. Currently, both are global settings and affect both user groups (actually, all users of type DIALOG and COMMUNICATION - only SERVICE and SYSTEM type users are not affected).
In that there is an option for you... but be aware of license implications... or you can upgrade to 7.02 early next year (I think this is the correct release, time and release "alias" for it..) and then the config your security policies client dependently!
Currently, your best option is to not set these two global parameters illogically and monitor the user group manually from RSUSR200.
In the wild, many folks use the user type difference to workaround this, but that is also global to the user type so they are excepted from the expiration time as well. Additionally, not all functionality is available to them on the client side (e.g. SAP Logon Tickets won't work) and the authority-checks are even slightly different on some special cases.
Personally, I don't understand why users with authorizations to make purchase requests only should change their passwords more often (expiration time) or be more active (idle time) than those with SAP_ALL etc.
    > I hadn't considered SSO since we do not currently use it.
SSO solves several of these problems by deleting the password completely...
    Cheers,

  • Possible solution for problems printing with ICC profiles - esp. R2400

(N.B. This is long because I've decided to go in to details about the background of the problem etc.. Also note that whilst my experience is with the Epson R2400, anyone with problems printing using ICC profiles in Aperture may find this post helpful, as will be explained further down the post.)
Ok, here's the situation. I've been an Aperture user for over a year, and an R2400 owner for half a year. In that time I have done a huge amount of experimenting, but I've never managed to get Aperture to work perfectly with Epson's 'premium' R2400 ICC profiles - the ones you can download from their site which are better than the ones provided 'in the box'. This hasn't been too big a deal because, in fact, the R2400 does a rather good job just set to 'System Managed' in Aperture and 'Epson Vivid' with a gamma of 1.8 in the printer driver. Nevertheless, it really annoyed me that something that should work wasn't, which is why I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out what's going on. Having said that, I have come across a method which will give you pretty good prints out of your Epson R2400 using the premium profiles in Aperture - it's not perfect, but it's the best you're going to get if you want to use those profiles in Aperture. I understand the words 'it's not perfect' aren't what photography experts would probably want to hear, however, I have seen a few anguished posts from R2400 owners in here before, so I think some people may find it useful.
The whole reason why Aperture is hopeless at using the R2400's premium profiles is because - unusually - their default rendering intent is set to 'relative colorimetric' rather than 'perceptual'. You might say 'but that's good - it means you get more accurate colours!', and if you do, you're right... however, there's a snag. To get an image to reproduce well using Epson's premium profiles and relative colorimetric rendering, you really need to use black point compensation. This is where the trouble lies: Aperture's black point compensation is diabolical to the point of being unusable when used with relative colorimetric rendering - I feel I need to be awarded compensation every time I've ever tempted to use the setting. So because BPC in Aperture is unusable, that effectively makes the premium profiles unusable too, because Aperture always uses the default rendering intent specified in the profile.
The solution? Use perceptual rendering instead. Ok, so you can't change the rendering intent in Aperture, which makes that sound a tad difficult. However, as I said in the above paragraph, Aperture always obeys the default rendering intent specified in the profile... so you can see where we're going with this: we need to change the ICC profiles' default rendering intent from 'relative colorimetric' to 'perceptual'. I did some digging around and found one or two expensive pieces of software that could do that... but then I found that, lo and behold, the Mac OS has a command-line utility which can do the job for us, for precisely £0.00. It's called SIPS or 'Scriptable Image Processing System', and you can find out some information about it here: http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/tn2035.html#TNTAG58 For those who don't like reading technical jargon however, here's what you need to do to convert a profile's rendering intent. First go to terminal, then type in the following command:
    sips -s renderingIntent perceptual
Do not press 'enter' yet. Instead, add a space after 'perceptual', find the ICC profile you want to modify, and click and drag it into the terminal window. You should then find that your command looks something like this:
    sips -s renderingIntent perceptual /Users/yourname/folder/RandomProfile.ICC
At which point you can then press 'enter', and the command will execute, giving you an ICC profile which will now make Aperture use perceptual rendering.
There is just one further thing to be aware of after doing this: for some crazy reason, you then need to turn on BPC in Aperture for the prints to come out as good as possible. Black point compensation shouldn't make any difference when using perceptual rendering as the idea of perceptual is that it takes account of things like that anyway, however, in Aperture BPC does make a difference, so remember to turn it on to get a half decent print. In general, I find that prints made using this setup come out pretty well; they almost perfectly match prints made using the profiles with a perceptual intent in Photoshop Elements, except for the fact that Aperture blocks up the shadows a bit more than Photoshop. However, if you can live with that, you might find this is quite a workable solution.
Now, I said near the beginning of this post that all the above can apply to other printers too. Most printer profiles have 'perceptual' set as their default rendering intent, in which case everything I've just said won't be of much help. However, If you are reading this because you're having problems with ICC profiles in Aperture, but you don't use an Epson R2400, find your problematic ICC profile, double-click on it, and take a look at the window that opens: specifically, at the 'Rendering Intent' the window mentions. If it doesn't say 'Perceptual' then it may well be worth trying the steps I've outlined in this post to set it to perceptual, to see if doing so produces an improvement when using the profile in Aperture.
Finally, just one note of caution: if you decide to try out the steps I've detailed above on a paid-for custom-made profile, please back your profile up before messing with it. I haven't experienced any problems when using SIPS to change a profile's rendering intent, but I obviously can't guarantee that it won't do something weird and corrupt your expensive custom-made profile.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, although (contrary to any impression I may give) I am not a colour-management expert; I'm just someone who doesn't give up when they have a problem that should be solvable.

How can I get access to my user profile? do I need to createa new Administrator account? Please help
The EventSystem sub system is suppressing duplicate event log entries for a duration of 86400 seconds. The suppression timeout can be controlled by a REG_DWORD value named SuppressDuplicateDuration under the following registry key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\EventSystem\EventLog.

    hi do the following
    1. In Search programs and files (Windows 7) area, type in regedit, and press Enter.
    2. If prompted click yes,
    3.  expand the following HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    4. click the sid that related to your admin profile (if you not sure, click each sid and in turn look to the right hand side of registry editor it will show who that sid is related to one of the registry files should hae in description localhost\admin or
    something similair)
    5. right click the sid and press delete.
    6. restart your machine and log back on with the admin account, this will then rebuild the admin profile... dont worry when it loads and none of your personal settings are saved or files or folders... go to c:\users
in here you will see two folders for the admin account, one will be just admin and the other most likely admin.localhost
i cant remember which one is which but just check both, one will still have all your files and folders in it.
i suggest making a backup of your data before doing this incase something does go wrong, but ive had this happen many times in a domain enviorment and has worked for me everytime.

I have had a trial version of Acrobat X1 Pro - I have decided not to buy at this stage - for some time it has been conflicting with opening PDF docs after "saving as" from word 2007 - I uninstalled Pro X1 and now when I "save as" PDF from word 2007 to PDF it will save the document as a PDF but will not open the document to display after publishing - I have to got to where the file has been saved to view the new PDF document - this is really annoying - do I have to delete adobe reader and reinstall it - adobe needs to look at this conflict with acrobat pro as I have even gone it to properties and tried to have adobe reader as the default PDF program - the main issue is that I cannot view the PDF after publishing it from word 2007

Thank you so much for the quick response to my question.  I tested your directions and it works!!  Thank you.  I would never have figured that out.  I knew I had to go into System Preferences but would not have guessed that I needed to have Automatic Login set to off.

I try to automate my printing procedure in photoshop. The problem is that I don't know how to select the printer and select the icc profile for printing with vbscript like I manually do in the print-menu in photoshop?
    Anyone has done this before?
    Thanx!

    Client/Server version:
    - D2KWUTIL.PLL library provides a 'Select Printer' dialog box to be used in Forms: WIN_API_DIALOG.SELECT_PRINTER
    http://guenter-huerkamp.dyndns.org/oracle-doc/docs/html/d2kwutil.html
I suggest you to create a form to invoke the report, allowing user to select the printer and then pass it as parameter DESNAME

  • Export as PDF with embedded profiles for Grayscale images

Does InDesign CS6 export pages with Grayscale images as PDF with embedded profiles?
    Possible profiles, for instance:
    – Gamma 2.2
    – Dot gain 20%
    – Black Ink ISO Coated v2 (ECI)
    Export mode:
    – Acrobat 5 or higher
    – No color conversion
    – Embed all profiles
    Test by Acrobat Pro
Advanced > Print production > Preflight > PDF analysis > List objects using ICC/Lab/Calibrated Color
[The question is not about the export of Color images as Grayscales]
    Best regards --Gernot Hoffmann

I wouldn't ever use different RGB profiles and different CMYK profiles and
different Gray profiles in one doc – it's just necessary for tests.
If you had a hypothetical case where your InDesign document's assigned CMYK profile and intended output was ISOcoated_v2_300_eci and you recieved grayscales for placement with different gray profiles assigned, I think you would have to make the conversion in Photoshop if you want the grayscales to be converted to your ISOcoated_v2_300_eci output intent space.
So in this case I have a grayscale image with Dot Gain 10% assigned and you can see the 50% patch is reading as 50% in Info panel:
If set my Working Gray space to the ISO Coated profile as above and do a Convert to Profile with the Destination set to Working Gray:
The preview doesn't change but I get converted gray values—50% is now 44%:
If I place the grayscale in an InDesign doc with ISOcoated_v2_300_eci assigned as the CMYK profile, the preview won't change (you have to turn on Overprint /Sep Preview), and the converted numbers will show in Separation Preview. The preview and numbers will also be unchanged in Acrobat if you export to default PDF/X-4
