Structure cFolders 4.0

Hi, all
I have three questions, but I don't find information about this.
1.- How is the infraestructure and the structure of cFolders 4.0?
2.- when I upload the document in cFolders. I want to know Where does it keep ( path) exactly the documents that I upload in cFolders?
I know that the information is save in database  but I don't know where
3.- How it is possible to work with a different server to save the documents of cFolders?
Thanks you for help me
Regards

Hi,
1.- How is the infraestructure and the structure of cFolders 4.0?
Answer: first of all you have to create folder structure as per ur needs or the requirement of the client. and cfolder is web based application, so that it is easy to use .
2.- when I upload the document in cFolders. I want to know Where does it keep ( path) exactly the documents that I upload in cFolders?
Answer: it remains in ur folder only, the folder structure you have created. on front end only.
3.- How it is possible to work with a different server to save the documents of cFolders?
Answer: you can import-export you documents to dms and vice-versa. T-Code for that but before that you have to make connection between DMS AND Cfolder.
Thanks
amit
Note: More information u need abt cfolder, plz let me know.

  • Arrange folders structure in an alphabetical order in cFolders?

    Hi, Gurus
Is it possible to arrange folders structure in an alphabetical order in cFolders?H ow it is?
    Thanks
    Ravindra

You will get a sort button on the left hand side browser tree if you navigate to level 2 or below of a collaboration. It is a folder icon with a little "A" in it, named "Sort folders in this level alphabetically".
There, you get also other operations, e.g. to move a folder individually in the folder sequence up or down.

  • CFOLDERS - CFX_HISTORY table giving me problems in ABAP

We are going to use CFolders in our environment.   I have an issue with the CFX_HISTORY table when I try and use it in a ABAP report.   I get the following message when I try and include it in a ABAP program: "CFX_HISTORY" must be a flat structure. You cannot use internal tables, strings, references, or structures as components. -
When I try and include it in a ABAP program.   Some of the other CFX_xxxx tables do not have any issues and they are defined the same way.    Does any body have an idea why this message is caused and how to get around it.    I wanted to use this table to generate a report.
Also, does anybody know of any standard reports for CFOLDERs that come from SAP that are useful?    We are looking for reports that indicate who changed folders / documents and when with CFOLDERS.
    Thanks a bunch!

I found my answer by making the following definition instead of a tables declaration.
    data CFX_HISTORY type CFX_HISTORY.
Still would like to know of any CFOLDER reports that are good if anyone knows of some!

  • Transfering cFolders Docs to DMS via Collaboration tab in cProjects 4.5

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to move documents between cFolders and DMS using the the "collaboration" tab in cProjects.
The steps I am following are as follows.
    1. Created a link to a DMS document structure from "SAP DMS" tab in cProjects
    2. Assigned a collaboration from the "collaborations" tab
    3. Selected transfer documents.
    4. Transfered the needed documents to a folder in DMS from cFolders
    5. Clicked save documents button
    6. When I check the doc structure from the SAP DMS tab I see the document but there is no document number or type.
    7. When I select refresh the transfered document dissapears. I have also tried saving between steps to no avail.
I have done the needed configuration for object links and default doc types under "Integration with Other mySAP.com Components -->Collaboration Projects -->SAP DMS Integration --> Specify Default Document Types per cProjects System". Also I am able to transfer a document which is stored in cProjects documents tab. I am only having an issue when trying to transfer from cFolders.
I have seen several threads on this forum on similar issues but no clear solution. Appreciate any thoughts on this. Hope I have explained the issue clearly, but do let me know if any further information is needed from me.
    Thanks,
    Lashan

    Hi Lashan,
Did you try with T Code CFI01(ECC ) - Import Documents from cFolders?
If no then try you will get sucess

  • Authorization in WebDAV for cFolders

    Hi
I have autorization rules set for the collaboration folder structure from none to write to read etc.
In cFolders application for that user it all applies. But when I get the WebDAV URL in that user login, these authorizations is not applied. i.e. even folders which are set 'none' (not visible in cFolders application) are visible.
Is this the way WebDAV behaviour is or am I missing something?
    Regadrs
    Senthil

    Hello Senthil,
you can use WebDAV for two purposes:
    a) maintenance of cFolders settings with special URL
    b) to maintain documents in cFolders via the MS Windows Explorer using the SAP NetWeaver Portal Drive.
You do not need the Enterprise Portal to be installed to use the WebDAV functionality together with SAP NetWeaver Portal Drive.
The name SAP NetWeaver Portal drive is a little bit misleading.
It is called Portal drive, since it is the WebDAV client for the Knowledge Management (KM) of the portal also.
When using the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive with cFolders no portal is required as the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive acts also as WebDAV client for cFolders. The SAP NetWeaver Portal drive is a 3rd party WebDAV client from a company called XYTHOS (http://www.xythos.com/home/xythos/company/company.html), which can be used by SAP customers for free.
You can download the Installer for the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive from SAP Service Marketplace under http://service.sap.com/swdc
-> Download -> SAPSupport Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group
    -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver2004s -> Entry by Component -> Frontend -> Portal Drive 4.4

Important: you must not use the Microsoft WebDAV interface for maintaining documents in cFolders collaborations. It does not fit to cFolders as there are security issues with using Microsoft WebDAV (my network places) together with cFolders

  • CProjects and cFolders

    Hi People
Please enlighten me about cFolders  and Cprojects. I am bit curious to know about this.
    Thanks and Kind Regards
    Mohan

    Hi Mohan,
    <b>CFolders:</b>
cFolders is the Web-based collaboration platform for the PLM area. The application enables teams that work in product development in cross-enterprise scenarios to communicate and cooperate with each other. cFolders makes it possible for teams to exchange structured information as bills of material, data sheets, or customer-defined structures, for example. This approach improves the consistency of your data when communicating with external partners and suppliers which in turn reduces the duration of the project.
cFolders is integrated in SAP document management (DMS). It is also possible to use cFolders in the SAP Bidding Engine as a container for technical specifications.
    <b>Collaboration Projects (cProjects)</b>
In order to cope with the high demands of complex development and consulting projects on an enterprise, planning solutions are required that support progressive project management methods and therefore have a positive influence on project duration and quality. Furthermore, it is important to have tools that are easy to use and implement and that enable project participants to work together.
cProjects covers the whole range of project management activities, from planning and execution to the final stages of the project.
cProjects integrates cFolders for exchanging documents with external partners

  • Want to fetch Material Data from R/3 to cFolders...

    <b>Hellow All,
I want to fetch material data from R/3 to cfolders..Actually I need to use the skeliton of the material,I don't need to create actual material over here..How can I do that? Secondly, when we create a material inside cfiolder, where is it stored? Is it stored there in R/3 or it is stored somewhere else? If any one of you need more clarification, then please ask me..</b>

I'm not aware of any SAP tools to automate the export to cfolders - perhaps you could get a developer to have a look at the available function modules for CFX* and see if there'e something you could build (e.g. using CFX_API_DOC_MATERIAL_WRITE - use the Webservicebrowser to find the other CFX* functions).
However, I'm not sure what exactly are you trying to achieve and why? To have all (or a subset) of material records available and updated in cFolders at all times? How would you structure these in cFolders without making it difficult to browse?
Also see Badri's comment about cFolders 4.0 (which I'm going to look into too - Thanks Badri, I'd missed that ) perhaps that also allows you to pull in materials 'on demand'??

  • Import of structure of folders

    Hi
I have a question in my  dev system I have created  many folders  then  my question is Can I import these structure from dev to QA on cfolders?
    Regards
    Danny

    Hello Danny,
WebDAV is an open standard, please look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Webdav
You can connect with Windows Explorer or PortalDrive to cfolders via this protocoll.
Portaldrive is a SAP-Tool for WebDAV to connect for example to the Portal Knowlede Management (collaborative rooms) and cfolders. When you connect to cfolders you can assign a drive letter to an entry point in cfolders and work like you are used to in your normal windows environment. This also works in the normal Windows File explorer where you can connect to network Ressources. You have to configure your System to use webDAV (please contact your system administrator).
When you have connected to the system and have such a webdav-connection, you can copy a directory tree to your local drive by drag an drop in Windows, and then reupload it to the other system (i think the step to copy it locally is mandatory).
    Best Regards

  • SRM Category Management - cRoom Integration with cFolders

Can anyone please send me the configuration guide to integrate cRooms (SAP Collaboration Rooms) with cFolders (c Project Suite SAP PLM).
I've got both (SRM-Category Management and PLM-cProjects) the business packages installed on EP and I need to integrate them both.
    Suitable points will be rewarded.
    Regards
    Sreenivas

From ERP using transaction CFE02 you can export the DMS document to cFolders.
These documents can undergo changes in the cFolders.
then via CFI02 you can get back the latest version of the documents from the cFolders into DMS.
In SRM in a bidding scenario, where in you upload all you tendering documents into cFolders which will create a cFolders collaboration in a competitive scenario.
All you docs are put in the public area, then you could create individual areas for you vendors in the same collaboration with atmost security (you can even hide the names of the vendors in the create/changed by columns in the overview tables) .
None of the vendors can see each others information but the public area is visible to all the vendors. Vendors then place their bids in the respective private areas.
You can alternatively use the Portal to create collaboration rooms, which is to upload some docs and download then you would loose the advantage of managing/structuring the bidding process from multiple vendors. Then also the integration aspect with SRM.

  • Folders-creation in cfolders over Portaldrive

    Hello,
we have a customer who wants to create a structure of about 12.000 empty Folders in cFolders. He is using the latest Version of PortalDrive for this Task. The Problem is, that it is very inperformant. We had a look at the trace file for adding one single Folder. The trace file is about 20.000!!! lines long and was full of select statments.
It looks like, that every additional folder checks every folder that was created before, so it tooks longer and longer to add folders (all the folders are empty).
Any ideas, how we can speed up the task??
    Greetings
    Helmut

    Hi Helmut,
Try using the function module CFX_API_FOLDER_CREATE. Let me know if this helps.

  • Corrupt folder in cFolders

Hello we have a folder in cFOlders that can't be opened, deleted, touched.  We get "Technical error."
Is there any way to 'fix' corrupt folders?

This is kind of trial code please run this for sample data..
then after successful run may be u can try for your problematic folder..
you can get the col_id topic_id and other things from the URL of the page or
by right clicking on the URL link and properties...
What i am doing in the code is using the existing COPY AND PASTE functionality in the cFolders
to copy the docs across folders...

  • PLM7.0 with easyDMS and cFolders

    Hi,
Could someone please describe how SAP PLM7.0 solution interfaces with easy DMS and cFolders.Has anyone used these components together? Please share your thoughts.
    thanks,
    Rahul

    Hello Rahul,
The easy dms folder structure can be viewed from the Document Information Record in PLM 7.0
    Coming to cFolders,
PLM 7.0 can be accessed from Enterprise portal, so your suppliers can access the product data which is required for them from it.
Otherwise cFolders can be used to exchange the product data as usual.

  • Doc distribution or Cfolders

    Hello,
We need to send Engineering data and some documents to vendors. Whether document distribution with ITS or Cfolders will be an appropriate way to send this data to suppliers.
    Thanks.
    Anirudh

    Hi,
What you acn use is Competitive scenarios.
In Competitive scenarios what ever is folder structure in Public, gets replicated for all Vendors.
Thus it solves the issu of one to many relation between material-Vendor...
One more thing is Status management> it helps to manage access to docuemnts based on statusses.
You should definitely use Cfolder for sharing Doc with Vendors.
    No issues.

  • How to use one Account dimension for multiple account structures

We are implementing a HFM application to replace two general ledger applications, one being Corporate and the other a new subsidiary. We need to maintain both of the chart of accounts and their unique rollup structures. We are facing the difficulty in attempting to combine the two chart of accounts into one HFM Account Dimension because a few of the subsidiary accounts have the same account numbers but they are meant different things.
    Question:
How can we set up two distinct account structures in HFM and also have the subsidiary accounts rolled into the Corporate accounts for consolidation reporting?
    Appreciate your help.
