Structure of hierarchy's datasource

Dear Experts:
Here I have one question regarding the structure of the hierarchy datasource.
When we load the hierarchy from an external file, the file structure would have below several fields:
NODEID INFOOBJECT NODENAME LINK PARENTID LANGU TXTSH TXTMD TXTLG
But while loading from ECC, take material hierarchy "0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER" for example, its extraction structure is "ROHIEROS", and when you double click on it, you will find there is only one field named "OLTPSOURCE", the data

Hi,
from my point of view I would recommend you to use the functionality of document structure.
The main difference is that for document structure you can create a header in transaction CV11 and then link as many document info records to it. Further transactions are CV12 (edit) and CV13 (display). So the document structure is easier to handle. Due to the position interval it should be possible to add up to 999 documents here.
The document hierachy is nearly the same but you have to go the transaction CV02N and enter the superior document info record for each sub-document and this needs a lot more time than in CV12 for example. For the document hierarchy there is no limit on the number documents which are linked to a superior document info record.

Use these steps for authorizations,
1.before going to authorizations u have to decide on which Infoobject u have to apply authorizations.
EX: SD--- Sales Org, MM -> palnt ,purorg,FI> companycode.
first u ahve to decide which area & on which Infoobject.
2.goto that Infoobject --> change there check the checkbox Authorization relavent object cahechbox
2.after that U Have to goto RSSM there u have to create authorization object
Ex: Zxxx ( XXX is Infoobject Name ).
3. In the same transaction Screen u have Infocube selection radio Button check that then select on which cube(cube means under that cube all Quaries) u have to make authorization for that perticuler Infoobject.
4.next goto PFCG create role & save it
5.goto Authorization tab in that selct edit authorization it will give automatiaclly authorization Templates in that u have to select only S_RS_RREPU & press Enter.
6. Select manual pushbutton it will ask authorisation object enter ur authorization object what u have created ( zxxx) .
7.click generate +enter
8. goto user tab Enter userId+enter + click on usercomparision+ enter
9.save the role.
FOR HIRARCHIES:
1. goto RSSM There u have one rediobutton called authorization hierarchy ( this radio button is very below the RSSM screen)
2. there u have to select Hierachy on which u have to apply authorization.

Invalid Extract Structure while creating a datasource

Hello,
I'm creating a datasource from a view. whenever i try to save it, it gives me an error saying that it is an invalid extract structure and that one of my fields is referenced to another table. After the threads on SDN, I think I need to remove this field from the view, activate my datasource, append my extract structure by adding the problem field and write an user exit to populate the field.
I don't have any experience in writing an user exit. I would appreciate if anyone would guide in it. Here are the details of my view:
View with 4 tables: EKBE, EKKO, EKPO AND EKKN
so that i'll get the line items of the purchase orders with the fields that i need. I didn't see any business content datasource for this.
problem field: DMBTR in EKBE table
this is referenced to T001.
How do i add this field in the extract structure and how do I write an user exit for this?

I too am facing the same problem.
I am creating a view from 2 tables VBAK and VBAP .
I was having problem with currency fields NETWR, WAERK, NETPR. So i removed the currency fields. Still i am having same error of not being able to create my data source from the view i have made. It gives the error....

Diagnosis
You tried to generate an extract structure with the template structure Z76_VEW_VBAK_VBP. This operation failed, because the template structure quantity fields or currency fields, for example, field NETPR refer to a different table.
Procedure
Use the template structure to create a view or DDIC structure that does not contain the inadmissable fields.

Invalid Structure Template KNKK of DataSource KNKK_DataSource

Hello,
I am trying to create a Generic DataSource in R3 for BW. My goal is to create a Generic DataSource for table KNKK in R3. I am following some Generic DataSource instructions which appear to be very straightforward. I have named the DataSource "KNKK_DataSource". I follow the steps, but when I try to save the DataSource, I get this error message, "Invalid Structure Template KNKK of DataSource KNKK_DataSource". I can see a field on this page that is called "ExtractStruct", but I am not able to enter anything into this field, and even if I could, I do not know what to enter.
Can anyone provide some guidance?

take a look oss note 688859. however, there is ODS 0FIAR_O09 - oss 656687, please check if it's suitable,

Solution
By standard, SAP does not offer any queries for 0FI_AR_9. The main reason for this is the following one: SAP R/3 ERP allows multiple n:m relationships between Customer, Credit Control Area, and Company Code. (For example, one customer could be allocated to many credit control areas, and one company code could have relations to many credit control areas, or vice versa). Moreover, those foreign key (n:m) relationships vary by customer installation. This makes it difficult to develop business content applicable to a wide variety of installations.
There are multiple ways, however, how the information contained in 0FI_AR_9 could be made available e.g. for A/R reports. Some of those options include:
- MultiProviders.
- Reading of 0FI_AR_9 (from ODS) via update rules.
- Central consolidated ODS layer.
- Inclusion of relevant fields as attributes, e.g. for 0CUSTOMER.
When doing so, make sure to pay particular attention to the following:
- Potential implications of n:m relationships, as pointed out above.
- Implications for delta behavior of 0FI_AR_9.
- Possibly required mapping of calendar month to fiscal period.

Change an extract-structure in an existing datasource

I want to change an extract-structure in an existing datasource (0COORDER_TEXT), but I don't know how to do.
(I first thought I can do it with trx RSA6.)

Hi,
yes, you can change an extract-structure in an existing datasource . The enhancemet of DataSource is the process of enhancing your extract structures by creating an append with your ZZ/YY fields and filling these fields using a specific user exits. Then you have to fill those fields with some ABAP custom code that can be anything from some simple calculations or table lookups to complex business logic requiring access to multiple database tables. You can do that by CMOD, creating a project and using the enhancement:RSAP0001.
You have to follow bellow steps:
1. Go to RSA6.
2. Select the Data Source.
3. Select display Data Source (Ctr+F2).
4. Double click on the Extract structure.
5. Click on the Append Structure.
6. Add the required field .
7. Activate the Append Structure.
8. Go to CMOD.Give the Project, select Display.
9. Click on ZXRSAU01.
10.you have the bellow exits:
    a).Transaction data: EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001
    b).Master data attributes: EXIT_SAPLRSAP_002
    c).Master data texts: EXIT_SAPLRSAP_003
    d).Master data hierarchies: EXIT_SAPLRSAP_004
11. select Transaction Data EXIT,then you have to write the ABAP CODE
12. save and activate.
13. check the data in RSA3.

File structure and hierarchy in Aperture.

Hi, everyone.
I am trying to import folders with images into Aperture and, much to my surprise, have found that this process is everyting but intuitive and straightforward.
My library (outside of Aperture) is made up of folders each corresponding to a day and location. These folders are labeled using the data and location as part of their name.
As I try to import these folders into Aperture I can't seem to import them into a single folder or project as sub-folders or sub-domains of that project. I have tried to create a project and them import the folders into it but Aperture won't import them into that project and doesn't allow me to drag and drop it either once it has been imported. I also tried to create albums and folders but haven't been successful.
How does this file structure in Aperture work in terms of hierarchy ? It certainly isn't structured the way the Finder is or any other file system I have seen to date. Creating folders, organizing them and bringing any type of data into these folders should be a simple process but in Aperture it doesn't seem to be.
Am I doing something wrong or is Aperture trying to re-invent the wheel ?
Is there any tutorial I can watch or read on how to work with Aperture's file structure and import folders and folders into it ?

Regarding your specific problem I suggest treating each existing dated folder of image files as a single Project in Aperture. In Aperture a Project is a specific time-based concept that may or may not jive with what you previously considered a project. For instance I may have in my mind that shooting all the highest peaks in every state is a "project," but that would be inappropriate as an Aperture Project. Instead each peak might be a Project, but the pix of all the peaks would be pointed to as an Album.
The way I look at it conceptually:
Aperture is a database (DB), and each image file lives in one Project.
Albums are just collections of Pointers that point to individual image files living in one or more Projects. Since they just contain pointers, albums can be created or deleted at will without affecting image files. Very powerful. And Albums of pointers take up almost zero space, so they are fast and do not make the Library size grow.
Keywords can be applied to every image separately or in batches. Keywords are hugely powerful and largely obviate the need for folders. Not that we should never use folders, just that we should use folders only when useful organizationally - - after first determining that using keywords and albums is not a better approach.
As one example imagine the keyword "flowers." Every image of a 100,000 images Library that has some flowers in it has the keyword flowers. Then say we want to put flowers in an ad, or as background for a show of some kind, or to print pix for a party, or even just to look for an image for some other reason. We can find every flower image in a 100k-image database in 2 seconds, and in another few seconds create an Album called "Flowers" that points to all of those individual images.
Similarly all family pix can have a keyword "family" and all work pix can have a key word "work." Each individual pic may have any number of keywords. Such pic characteristics (work, family, flowers, etc.) should not be organized via folders.
So by using keywords and albums we can have instant access to every image everywhere, very cool. And keywords and albums essentially take up no space in the database.
Another approach is to use a folder "Family" for family pix, a folder "Flowers" for flowers pix and another folder "Work" for work pix. IMO such folders usage is a very poor approach to using an images database (probably stemming from old paper or film work practices). Note that one cannot put an image with family in a field of flowers at a work picnic in all three folders; but it is instant with keywords.

2.Document Hierarchy,
3.In Material bom- DOCUMENT [CS01/2]
We can enter so many document in the above activities.
I m confusion with Document structure and Document in material Bom [CS01/2].
I linked documents in CS02 but Those will shows in DMS but Can't opens. I don't know what is the use creating link in CS02, even though this document not triggers Production order.
[For document structure needs Change number that i know.]
But actual use or application i dont know. Could Explain with Exmple.

I created a object link for Bom Item [STPO_DOC] and Bom header [STKO_DOC] using T-code CS01. This BOM item, BOM Header triggered in DMS. From DMS I am trying to display cs03, But system wonu2019t allow to display.
And secondly I am trying to link document from DMS to sap object- Material Bom [STOP]
But system wonu2019t allow.
How i can establish link materail bom and dms.

Drilldown on structure with hierarchy display shows additional result rows

difficult problem to explain, but I'll try:
- a structure for the rows axis
- the structure contains hierarchical elements
- each leaf node in the structure is defined as a characteristic C, restricted to certain values from a hierarchy
- additionally characteristic C is on the rows axis below the hierarchy (for detailed drilldown)
- for the row axis, "display as hierarchy" is selected (initial drilldown until structure only)
- on the columns some key figures
- zero suppression set to active for rows
So in Query Designer it looks like this:
1) Structure S
---> Subnode S1
> Element 1 (Characteristic C restricted to value V1 and V2 from hierarchy H)
---> Subnode S2
> Element 2 (Characteristic C restricted to value V3 and V4 from hierarchy H)
2) Characteristic C
Now what happens at runtime:
1. The user opens Subnode S1 and sees 1 row with cumulated values for V1 and V2
2. The user drills down further to Characteristic C
3. He sees 2 result rows below "Element 1": row 1 with value V1, row 2 with value V2
All fine.
4. Now the user opens subnode S2 and drills down to Characteristic C.
5. => The user gets 4 result rows for "Element 2":
    - one row with value V3 (as expected)
    - one row with value V4 (as expected)
    - one row with V1 and empty values (empty values OK, but complete row not expected!)
    - one row with V2 and empty values (empty values OK, but complete row not expected!)
So, apparently the OLAP processor has some issues when mixing structures with restricted elements, hierarchies and drill downs

Invalid extract structure template &2 of datasource &1

Hi all,
I really need help in this one. I am trying to create a generic datasource and it gave me this error. I did little research and found that my key figures are pointing to the currency or unit which is in an include. and one of the note says that the currency and unit has to be in your field list. I am using notes 335342 and 202162.
I am copying a part which I am not able to understand since I am doing this for the first time so Please help.
"If the currency or the unit a key figure refers to is not located in a table but in a structure, the key figure has to be removed from the view and read via a customer exit (see below). Structures cannot be included in a view.
ATTENTION!! Often the key of the table in which the referenced unit is located, does not agree with the key in the table with the corresponding key figure. In this case, the join condition of both tables is not unique in the view definition, that means for each key line of the table with the key figure, several lines of the table with the unit may be read: the result is a multiplying of the number of lines in the view by a factor corresponding to the number of lines that fit the key figure, in the unit table. To be able to deliver consistent data to a BW system, check whether the unit of the key figure in question should always have a fixed value. If yes then you can determine that in the view definition via 'GoTo -> Selection conditions'. If no, then you must proceed as follows:
a) Remove the key figure from the view
b) Define the DataSource
c) Enhance the extract structure by key figure and unit for each append (Transaction RSA6)
d) Add the key figure and the unit in a customer exit
2. A view is already used for the extraction.

It beats me as to how can I add those fileds from FAGL table in the view, I am just not getting it. Or is there any other table that I can add these views.Some times it gives me this error "Field TCURC-RTCUR does not exist in any of the base tables." or similar to that I dont know what does that mean, Can you let me know plz?

I n the extract structure BIW_MARC_S of 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR, fields like reoder point, safty stock are available but these are not showing up in the data source 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR . How can I bring them in the data source...

Hi Dinesh,
I have the solution for this.
Go to contents of the table ROOSFIELD in SE11, give your data source 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR. These steps are to be done in ECC. There you can find the fields of datasource. Trace for your field safety stock.
Double click on that. you will get the details of that field. In that screen, the selection is shown as A, it means hidden.
You have to change it either P or X in debug mode. Then the required field will be available for your datasource.
Do revert in case of queries.

Can you please let me know how to create hierarchy on R/3 side and then assign it to the datasource and after that use it on BW side?

I am looking at a standared hierarchy datasource (0MATERIAL_LPRH_HIER) which shows the product hierarchy in my ECC Dev client but not in the ECC Dev config client niether in ECC QA.
i am wondering if anyone had or know how I could assign the product hierarchy to the datasource in ECC.

How to extract data from structures or create a datasource using structures

Hello Friends , I have a requirement to extract data from ECC fields, but when i go look the table i found only "structures" REBD_CONTRACT_REL_L and i confirmed with ecc team that there are no table available with these fields so how do i now extract the data in BI using the fields in ecc that exist only in these Structures.
Please help me to resolve this

Add field from structure maintanace option for datasource in LBWE (BI 7)

while i try to add extra field (transaction:LBWE for data source(ex 2lis_02_itm)) from structure maintance option to add field from structure(MCEKKO) to res data source(MC02M_0ITM) , than it moves to left side but when make enter message comes that it will not populated in extrect structure(i.e in MC02M_0ITM OR RSA2),
but when we try to add extra field not by structure maintanace option in LBWE but form append structure option from that structure MC02M_0ITM ( that field is not in that maintanace option in LBWE) than it comes in that structure MC02M_0ITM and also can see in RSA2.
Than how can we use that structure maintanace option avialble for the res. data source in LBWE?
