  • How to add fields to Structure in Report Painter

    Hi All,
We have a requiremnt where we need to add 2 fields ( profit center-PRCTR & description-CEPCT-LTEXT ) to structure CCSS. This structure is attached to library 1VK.
Is it possible to add fields directly to a structure or do I need to create a new structure and attach it to a new library.
If any one of this is possible, how can I do this ?

    Hi ,
u can do it in both the ways , but i am not much sure abt second option.

    Hello Chinasammy,
Report Painter allows you to create reports using data from SAP application components, which you can adapt to meet your individual requirements.
Many of your reporting requirements can already be met by using the standard reports provided by various SAP application components. If these SAP standard reports do not meet your reporting needs, Report Painter enables you to define your specific reports quickly and easily.
When executing a Report Painter report, it is displayed by the system in Report Writer format. You thus have access to the same functions as for Report Writer reports defined in the same way, and can combine Report Painter and Report Writer reports together in a report group.
Report Painter uses a graphical report structure, which forms the basis for your report definition and displays the rows and columns as they appear in the final report output.
To facilitate report definition, you can use many of the standard reporting objects provided by SAP (such as libraries, row/column models, and standard layouts) in your own specific reports. When you define a Report Painter report you can use groups (sets). You can also enter characteristic values directly.
    Advantages of Report Painter include:
    Flexible and simple report definition
    Report definition without using sets
Direct layout control: The rows and columns are displayed in the report definition as they appear in the final report output, making test runs unnecessary.
    =============================================
Below mentioned is the process for creating reports using Report Painter as a tool.
Selecting and maintaining a library for your report: As the transfer structure to Report Painter you use a report table, which is defaulted by SAP and can not be maintained. This table contains characteristics, key figures and predefined columns. In a library, you collect the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns from the report table, which you need for your Report Painter reports.
When you define a Report Painter report, you assign it to a library. Reports assigned to one library can only use the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for that library.
When you create or maintain a library, the Position field determines the sequence in which the characteristics, key figures or (predefined) key figures appear in the Report Painter selection lists when you define a report. This allows you to position the objects that you use regularly in your reports at the beginning of the selection lists. If you do not make an entry in the Position field, you will not be able to use this object in Report Painter reports.
You can use either the standard SAP libraries for your reports or define your own.
(ii) Selecting or maintaining a standard layout for your report: Standard layouts determine report layout features and the format of your report data.If the SAP standard layouts do not meet your reporting requirements, you can create a new  standard layout or change an existing one.
(iii) Defining row and column models: A model is a one-dimensional, predefined reporting structure that you can insert in either the rows or columns of your report. If you often use the same or similar row or column definitions in your reports, it is recommended that you create row or column models.
You must define the row and/or column models that you want to include in your report definition before you define the report.
You can also use the standard column models supplied by SAP.
(iv) Defining the report: Defining a Report Painter report involves the following steps.
    (a) Define the report columns: You define the report columns using the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for the library that the report uses. Alternatively, you can use a column model for column definition. Column models are predefined column structures which you insert into your entire column definition, instead of defining each individual column.
    (b) Define the report rows: You define the report rows using the characteristics selected for the library selected for the report.
Alternatively, you can use a row model for your row definition. Row models serve the same purpose as column models, but are used to define a report row.
Edit and format the report rows and columns in line with your requirements. (For example, you can hide rows or columns, define the column width or define colors for your report rows).
(iii)Define general data selection criteria for the selection of your report data: Selection criteria are the characteristics used to select data for the entire report. You cannot enter characteristics as data selection criteria if they are already being used in the report rows or columns.
(iv) Assigning the report to a report group: Once you have defined a report, you must assign it to a report group. A report group can contain one or more reports from the same library. However, reports that share the same data will select data more quickly and improve processing time.
Hopw this helps you. Please let me know if you need anything more and assign points.

  • Report Painter Elements

    Dear friends:
I am working on 4.7 v. I have copied a report and making changes to meet my requirments. In report painter, I selected Edit - Hidden rows - delete. Some of the elments i am unable to delete. The system shows the messages " You cannot delete, because element Custom Car is dependent "
I tried to delete the element using Edit - Elements - Delete. I am getting the same error.
How to develop a Hierarchical structure in report painter?
How to overcome the problem? Please advise.
    Regards
    Rajendra

If you ever encounter a "dependent" error message it means that the line that you want to delete is part of a formula most probably it is part of a total or subtotal, so search for any lines  that has formula lines and delete those lines form the formula or the whole formula line so you can reset the formula correctly.
To develop Hierarchical structure in report painter , the easiest way is to create a set in GS01, there you can create multi level sets thereby you can make use of this structure for other reports as well.

  • Financial Statement Version in Report Painter

    Hi there,
Can anybody please assist.  When you have made changes to a FSV, you copy the structure to Report Painter with KE5b - but this is only for GLPCT table (EC-PCA).  Which transaction can be used to do the same for cost centres CCSS table?

    Hi,
1: search SAPNET with search terms "report painter, authorization", guess you find some useful notes.
2: Try T-code KE5B to convert Financial Statement Verison sets to sets that can be used in report painter.

  • Read Purchase data using Report painter with CCSS structure

    Hi
I'm triying to set-up a simple Budget by material procedure using Rosurces defined as material and KP06 to plan Qty and Values.
    All works fine.
Later I need to write a report for Compare Planned vaues and Effective values at material (resource) level.
Unfortunately resource can be used only for planning, so none Effective values is available in CO.
I thought to write a Report using Report painter and library 1VK (CCSS structure) for planned values and import from a LIS table the effective values (Ordered, Invoiced) directly from Puirchasing environment.
Is it possible by using exit or other tools, import LIS data into a CO Report painter program ???
Thanks in advanec for your help.

  • Table used in report painter

    Hi,
How to check what table is really used in a certain report painter.
For my case, I want to a report 1KSL-001 under 1VK library, and I can see this 1VK library is using table "CCSS", but CCSS acctually is not a table, its just a structure.
So, how to use what tables are used while running report 1KSL-001?
    Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Bernard Gunawan

Yes, but how do you know and where to check that this report is a collection of fields of those tables?
Could you please tell me what transaction code to check, and guide to what table behind a report painter?

  • BSEG table in Report painter

    Hi All,
I want to create a report using a report painter. For this while creating library, i want to use the table BSEG.
But i am getting an error message "Table BSEG is not installed in report painter".
Then i used transaction MC27 and created Z structure from table BSEG. This solved my problem.
All this i was doing in ECC6.0 version.
Then i tried in 4.7 version, there table BSEG was already available to create a library.
Is it a version difference or we can can directly map standard tables also using transaction MC27 ?
But in ECC6.0, it was not allowing me map table BSEG using transaction MC27. I was getting message that "Evaluation structure name must be started with ZF"!!
Please help me in solving this puzzle!
    Thanks
    Puneet Aggarwal

    Hi
This is version difference.  In 4.7 Table BSEG not updated.  In ECC 6 this problem solved.

I have a standard report and it uses a structure to pull the data for the report. I need to create a custom report which uses the same structure, selection screen but a different layout. Could any of u plz advice, if its doable in report painter or just plain abap program?? Also I am interested to know how the report painter stores the actual report?? as ABAP program?? Please help..urgent..
    check the SAP help ..

I had made couple of SD reports in report painter 4 year ago .. as far as process is concern you have create library , but it deals with information structure which start with s0* , after defining information structure in library it take to select the fields and display them on your out put . information structure have the statistical data most of the time . As i worked on information structure , so31,32,33 .....
I t creates ABAP program like ABAP query creates in background . if you execute Customer Over due analysis or in Co02 cost analysis report or MC* ( MM stock reports ) those are in report painter .
Hope this'll give you some guide line ...
As far as I know about report painter, It create a report in background..Like when you make ABAP query (SQ01, 02, 03 ) .. It will create a report. You cant modify the report . You have to get OSS id in order to do that. if you're ready do it then you can pass it to Memory and can achieve your goal ...
I think it will give you some hint. I wish I could have authorization to use report painter on my this project so I can help you out practically.
Please see these steps , it`ll help you ...
    http://www.thespot4sap.com/Articles/Code_CostCentreReport.asp
The variation objects are coming from the sets.
For example, when you read the report 'Cost Centers: Actual/Plan/Variance'(T-code : S_ALR_87013611), you can find the characteristic 'Cost Center' is set as a 'set variable'. So the cost center in the report left side are coming from the cost center group that you input.
Does any know if we could use Report Painter across two controlling areas? Any documentation available will be great. Yes. When setting up a report in CCA you can have multiple controlling areas. In the General data selection you will have the option for the CA as a selection.
You can also use standard references objects to construct your own reports: libraries, standard layouts, default columns, and row and column models, all in the standard R/3 System, are available for custom reports.
Report Painter report definition requires several Preparatory Steps, depending on the complexity of the report to be generated.
    1) Create a library and pick your reporting tables.
    2) Create your report
    3) define your set up within the report
    a)General data selections
    b)Colimns
    c) rows
    d) formulas
Standard layouts are maintained in the IMG "Financial Accounting" under "Special Ledger -> Information System -> Maintain standard layout.
Create libraries, which means assigning the
    characteristics
    key figures
    Predefined columns
For each of these categories you need to select the objects to be used in reports of the specific library. You define the sequence of the objects in the selection lists of the Report Painter in field "Position". Frequently used objects should be at the top of the list.

I have created a report through report writer/Painter(GR51). My query here is to link this report to a transaction code. Could you please suggest me how can I acheive this?
Go to SE93 and select the Transaction with Parameters ( Parameter Transaction)
Then in the Transaction field give: START_REPORT
    Skip initial screen
    Screen 0
In the default value for the parameters give
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE RW
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORT ( Give your Report Group )
If you have any doubt pick any report painter tcode and check in SE93
    Follow below steps
    1) Execute report through report painter
    2) From system status get the program name
3 ) go to se93 and select report transaction and assign
    program name .
Is it possible to make bigger the text a I have on a text field?, Im using the screen painter and I need to put the title bigger (as a requirment).
You can define your text as any length. If you are talking about the font,i am afraid you cannot do that.
No, you can not change the size(font) of the text on the dynpro, you can hightlight it, which changes the color to "blue" to make it stand out. You can change this on the attributes tab when double-clicking on the element in screen painter.
what is the sentence that open a screen painter file
Don´t really understand what you mean with "open a screen painter file".
If you are speaking about showing a form generated with the screen painter,
    Dim oXMLDoc As New MSXML2.DOMDocument
    oXMLDoc.load("Form.xml")
    SBO_Application.LoadBatchActions(oXMLDoc.xml)
    Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form
    oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.Item("YourFormID")
    oForm.Visible = True

  • Due Date Analysis in Report Painter

    Hi:
I have a query regarding Report painter FKI1 to FKI6 for Vendor aging analysis. Aging reports build from report enable user to analyze all vendors invoices which are overdue by N of days you specify for every column e.g all invoices overdue btw 0-30, 30-60 and so on but client is requiring an aging report for AP & AR which shows how old an invoice is, our baseline date is document date for all payment terms. e.g we have four columns in report 0-30,30-60,60-90 and >120. If an invoice was created with a document date 25.12.2014 which though not due should appear in 0-30 days. I need to know if its possible within report painter to have such or i will have to go for ABAP.
    Thanks

    Hello Atif,
Your requirement can be fulfilled by report painter
1- build a form with structure one axis with key figure
2- create required N days columns
3- use characteristic (Due date analysis with value =1) for analysis of line items due.
4- use characteristic (Days for net due date ) with value from/ to N days.
5- define a report with desired characteristics ( vendor, document number ....)
    Regarding to you example
define column 0-30 as a sum formula of the following 2 columns
a column "0-30 due" with characteristics
(Due date analysis with value = 1) and
(Days for net due date with value from 0 to 30)
define another one "not due" with characteristics
(Due date analysis with value = 2) and
(Days for net due date with value from 0 to 99999)
for more information you can check the following standard reports delivered by SAP:
AP/ FKI0 >> report 0SAPDUEAN-01 Due Date Analysis for Open Items
AR/ FDI0 >> report 0SAPDUEAN-01 Due Date Analysis for Open Items

  • Requirement to add new parameter in selection  in report painter report

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to add an extra field in Cost center:Act/Plan/Comm CC Cur report. This is otherwise a Z report in report painter with 0% code (T-code : GR55-> Report group->Report).But,when we go to technical information of this report,it has four standard sap programs, which contains code for this selection screen. It does not even have a modification scope.
Selection screen of this report contains following parameters:
    Selection values:
    Controlling Ar
    Fiscal Year
    From Period
    To Period
    Plan Version
    Selection Groups:
    Cost Center Group
    Or value(s)
    Cost Element Group
    Or value(s)
My requirement is to add one more parameter : Purchase oeder in new block:
Is there any way to achieve it.
Note: Copying the standard progs into custom prog is not working,i already tried that.
Please let me know your suggestions,if any one of you came across such requirement before.it is very impoertant for me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Meenakshi

    Hi,
This report (and all generic reports which are based on the same library) looks on CCSS structure. This structure extracts data from totals tables. Therefore, it's not possible to add the parameter of purchase order, as it's a detail line attribute.
