Structure property of ValueNodes

Hi All
Why is the "Structure" property of value node is non editable ?
I created a structure in local dictionary of an application. I want to bind the structure property of the value node to it.

Hi Sonal,
If you want to bind the Value Node to a Structure that you have created then Right Click on Value Node - > Edit Structure Binding -> Select the Structure that you have created from the Local Dictionary.
OR
While creating the Value Node you can check the Checkbox "Create with Structure Binding" then in the next step you can select structure that you want to bind.

Error in configuration of Property Structures

Hi all.
We have encountered a problem in the KM configuration of our portal (EP6 SP2). When selecting the configuration path "Content Management -> Global Services" the following error message is displayed:
Invalid folders: Property Structures
When I click on the link "Property Structures" I get the following error:
Invalid folders: Property Groups
Invalid classes: Property Structure
Then, when I click on the link "Property Structure" I get around 50 lines of the following error message:
Unexpected error in the client configuration checker of configuration class ".../Property Structures/Property Structure". System error is "java.lang.NullPointerException".
Beneath the error messages, the property structures are displayed, but I cannot edit them or create new ones.
I get the same error when trying to display Property Groups. Group Renderer is working fine.
Does anybody have any idea what is causing this error?

I found some more log file entries that may be associated to this problem. They are in the same log file, but from one day earlier:

In the Property Structure Service it appears that the ItemListConfigChecker is not working. And in one of the structures there is a method defined twice.

Error in KM Property Structure

Hello,
When I see System Configuration\Knowledge Management\Global Services I get the warning "Invalid areas: Property Structures" and in Property Structure I get the error "The following configuration objects have some invalid or problematic properties: ice_offer_component" and when I
see the ice_offer_component's properties I get the error "Unexpected error in the client configuration object checker of topic '.../Property Structures/Property Structure'; system error is 'java.lang.StackOverflowError'". and
I have the following values for ice_offer_component's
Description:Structure for group filter settings of ICE offer components
Structure Items:displayname,description,ice_offer_component
Resource Types: http://sap.com/xmlns/cm/app/ice/offercomponent
Display Modes: create, display, edit
What is the problem? What can I check?

Hi Maria,
unfortunately this is a problem of default delivery of SPS15.
By implementing (one of the two) proposed solution, you should be able to solve this.

Property metadata

In Global services, I've created a group in property metadata.
Then I clicked on the property option, and created a property with:
Namespace alias-default
Type-String
Group-"The one I created above"
Allowed values csv-a, b, c
documents/<The folder in which i had created a .txt file before>
Clicked OK.
I navigated to Content Admin-> KM Content -> /documents/<myfolder>, Clicked on a text file within that -> Details -> Settings -> Properties.
There I do not see My Property
Any idea if Im missing something here

in order to see your property, you need to integrate it in a Property (Structure) Group and not only in a Property (Metadata) Group. You can create this group under "Global Services" -> "Property Structures" -> "Property Groups" and add your property to the "Group Items". Afterwards you need to add the just created group to the "Group Items" of the Property (Structure) Group "all_groups". By that you will have a new tab with your property in it.
Alternatively, if you use the Property (Metadata) Group "default" in your property definition (and not your own group, you should be able to see your property in the "Miscellaneous" tab, without having to add it to a Property (Structure) Group.

Dear All,
I want to have a custom property in KM where i am able pick "User Groups" created in User Administration as value of that property.
In KM property we can define property type as "User" but i want is "User Group", Is there any option i can make this happen

Problem in Predefined Properties after SP14 upgrade

Hi,
we are facing one Problem after the SP14 upgrade in the Development environment.The Problem is as follows:
Actually we have defined some Predefined metadata Properties which give us option of country and Locality while uploading any Document.The Property of Country and Locality are Interlinked and whenever user check the country checkbox (Like China) the interdependent Locality List appears (like Shanghai).But after SP14 upgrade whenever we are clicking the country checkbox the Loclity checkboxes are not appearing.(Even though some processing happens).I have checked all the configuration under System admin >Global services> Property Metada -->Group and Properties.Property Structures -->Property Groups etc and match them with all the properties of that in the Production environment.But we don't find any property missing like Dependencies etc.
Is there anything else we need to check?Anybody of you have faced the same Problem earlier?

Dear Imran,
we dint migrate the properties to the new server.
we have created those properties again in our new server.
I am using those properties for two purposes
1.to refine the search ,adding them in the search option set.
here i am able to see the all properties and there dependedncy .
its working fine.
2. while uploading the documnets.
I created a metadata group mapped those properties to all groups.
all process as we have done in our old server.
here i am able to view all the properties except 1.
for ex country and city
I am able to see the property country ,
but the property city is not visible only .
where as i can see both the properties in search and working as desired .
If the problem is with patch,then it should either not work in the search also.
can u please suggest me on this .

File Splitting for Large File processing in XI using EOIO QoS.

I am currently working on a scenario to split a large file (700MB) using sender file adapter "Recordset Structure" property (eg; Row, 5000). As the files are split and mapped, they are, appended to a destination file. In an example scenario a file of 700MB comes in (say with 20000 records) the destination file should have 20000 records.
To ensure no records are missed during the process through XI, EOIO, QoS is used. A trigger record is appended to the incoming file (trigger record structure is the same as the main payload recordset) using UNIX shellscript before it is read by the Sender file adapter.
XPATH conditions are evaluated in the receiver determination to eighther append the record to the main destination file or create a trigger file with only the trigger record in it.
Problem that we are faced is that the "Recordset Structure" (eg; Row, 5000) splits in the chunks of 5000 and when the remaining records of the main payload are less than 5000 (say 1300) those remaining 1300 lines get grouped up with the trigger record and written to the trigger file instead of the actual destination file.
For the sake of this forum I have a listed a sample scenario xml file representing the inbound file with the last record wih duns = "9999" as the trigger record that will be used to mark the end of the file after splitting and appending.

In the sender file adapter I have for test purpose changed the "Recordset structure" set as "Row,5" for this sample xml inbound file above.
I have two XPATH expressions in the receiver determination to take the last record set with the Duns = "9999" and send it to the receiver (coominication channel) to create the trigger file.
In my test case the first 5 records get appended to the correct destination file. But the last two records (6th and 7th record get sent to the receiver channel that is only supposed to take the trigger record (last record with Duns = "9999").

We do have 64 bit architecture and still we have the file processing problem. Currently we are splitting the file into smaller chuncks and processsing. But we want to process as a whole file.

Java.lang.StackOverflowError in KM

Hi All
I am following the menu :
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge management > Content Management > Action > Check configuration.
It is giving the following error :
The following objects have invalid settings:
.../Property Groups/Property Group
ice_offer_component
.../Property Structures/Property Structure
ice_offer_component
When I am clicking ice_offer_component getting the following error :
Unexpected error in the client configuration object checker of topic ".../Property Groups/Property Group"; system error is "java.lang.StackOverflowError".
This I found when I was trying to import offline package. I am not getting Content Exchange under the menu Content Management.
Please help .

I am using the file adpter to read the text file.In file some bad messages are there.
now i can read the correct data.but i can't view rejected messages.
if im not using "rejectedmessagehandler" , but it is stored in default directory.
In my application,correct messages are reading but bad messages are not stored in default directory.
pls can you help on that rejected messages store

You have to define rejectedMessageHandlers in activation agent part of ur fileadpater in bpel.xml.
ex:

Setting Image field in adobe form

Hello Gurus,
I have a question setting the image field dynamically.
I have created a following context structure for
DataSource(ValueNode Cardinality (1..1))->imagenode(Valuenode Cardinalty(0..n))->image(Value attribute))
I have binded the Datasource node to the Datasource of the interactive form.
I have dynmaically created the imagenode and set the value for the image.

Now I want to set this node to the image field in adobe.
In URL of the image field I have enterted $record.imagenode[*].image and its not working where as the same thing works for text field.

Using "and","or"(eg Anand Y) as parameter values to BI Publisher reports

I'm trying to pass a name parameter containing "and" for eg Anand Y, This value does not get passed to the report.Log reports invalid parameter value.
Has any one faced this issue before?

In the rtf template like you suggested I added conditional logic to show a no-data-found message else show the contents of my report. The key idea here is that if ROW (holds the data) is defined in the xml structure then there is data returned from the query else I show the no data message.

Thanks for your help in resolving the issue. I do prefer to have Oracle fix the issue of showing the Adobe error when report queries don't find data, but this is a good work around until something better comes along.

How to set the show properties as a default in KM

I am trying to upload the documents in KM repository using File-> Upload. If I click this Upload button, it will open a new window, it will show (show properties) this properties. But I want this one as default. Can any one help to set the (show properties) as a default?

I'm sorry, but you seem not to get my explanation.
First, there is no such "switch" for "Show Properties" or "Hide Properties", and there is also not Resource Type "Show Properties". It is hardcoded in the UICommand "upload" (so in the Screenflow implemented by com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.cm.UIUploadCommand), that if the ResourceType "normalrt" (http://sap.com/xmlns/cm/framework/normal-resource-type) displayed "Normal Document" is selected, you will see the "Show Properties" link. Only by changing the implementation of this UICommand you could change this behavior, but it's not recommended because you have to make sure on upgrades that you don't overwrite it again.
So again my suggestion:
1. Go to KM->CM->Configuration->CM->Global Services->Resource Types
2. Duplicate the Resouce Type "normalrt" changing:
Name: my_normalrt
Resource Type ID: http://sap.com/xmlns/cm/framework/my-normal-resource-type
3. Go to KM->CM->Configuration->CM->Global Services->Property Structures->Property Structures
4. Duplicate "DefaultPropertiesStructure" changing:
Name: My_DefaultPropertiesStructure
Resource Types: http://sap.com/xmlns/cm/framework/my-normal-resource-type
Structure Items: "Input_here_your_properties_and_property_groups"
BTW: If you want to have the same properties as in DefaultPropertiesStructure you might be obligated to remove some of them from the original Property Structure.
5. Go to KM->CM->Configuration->CM->User Interface->Commands->UI Commands
6. Duplicate "new_file" changing:
Alias: my_upload
Parameters: ResourceType=http://sap.com/xmlns/cm/framework/my-normal-resource-type,standalone=true
7. Go to KM->CM->Configuration->CM->User Interface->Commands->UI Command Groups
8. Edit AdminNewResourceGroup by renaming upload to my_upload in the "Commmand List" parameter.
BTW: It's advisable to duplicate the whole Command Group and use it in your Layout Set and not to change the standard configuration, but I will not describe the whole process here
9. Now go to KM Content and use the menu Folder->New...->Upload

I am working on web dynpros ALV display.
A simple program that makes use of salv_wd_table.
I accept gjahr and bukrs from the user and display the corresponding entries from 'bseg' table.
The problem that i face is that, even when in the output node, i am binding only few fields from table to be displayed, when i run the application, the entire bseg table is being displayed with values filled for only those fields which were present in my output node.
Please help.

Hi,
Remove the BSEG from the DICTIONARY STRUCTURE property of the Node to which the ALV is bound.
Map the node again to ALV data node.
