Struggling to sync iCal on macbook with my iphone via mobile me or web

I have an iPhone which I would like to merge Calendars with the Calendars on iCal on my Macbook. I'm none too fussed whether I update my mobile me account as the whole point is to be able to update work appointments/shifts which will then automatically be available on my macbook when I get home. Or, conversely I would like to update family stuff on my macbook and then access dates etc whilst on the move. I've followed a lot of steps from a lot of questions so far but all to no avail.
And breath....
Can you help?
Cheers

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

If you bought a Mac OS X application, you can’t.
If you bought an iOS application, either sync it or click here and follow the instructions.

  • Bypassing iCloud to sync iCal by cable with my iPhone 3

I want to bypass iCloud and be able to Sync my iCal with a cable, currently holded in iCloud, so my iPhone 3 can't sync anymore right now.
I'm currently running Snow Leopard again since a few days, I tried Mountain Lion for a month and for several (compatibility) reasons I downgraded to SL. But Mountain Lion screwed up my iCal calenders which apparently are in iCloud now. This means that I can't sync anymore with my iPhone 3 because it has no iCloud. I want to get my calenders back to my local computer so I can manually sync it again using cable connection. How do I do this? I never wanted to have to do anything with iCloud, because it has no use for me, for my iPhone is too old and relaxed to handle it.
    Any suggestions?
Also: There are now duplicates of what used to be one single calendar, with all containing different information, is there a way of merging them back together?

Actually the above appears to work -  (note that I do not have any ical files on-my-mac, just the cloud and I might leave it that way, just do regular back-ups of my files to a desktop folder)
Make sure you are happy with your calender, then back-up /export ical files to desktop safe haven as per other posts in these discussions (back up all calenders separately.
Go to computer preferences the in computer cloud preferences un-check ical - this will delete ical info off your computer.
Then, leaving that un-checked, go into your icloud service and delete all calender info, or at least current stuff.. Log out.
Go back to computer preferences and icloud and check the box again - if it wants to merger let it. But there shouldn't be anything there. Log into icloud again, make sure that all events etc are still showing as deleted - ie you have an empty calender.
    Now
Double click on your safe haven back-up files you saved on your desktop. Choose them one at a time and upload them to the relevant folders on the icloud. NOTE this may take a long time for each one if you, like me, have a huge calender going back many years (I should have really deleted earlier years). So be patient if you try to upload more than one at a time your laptop and internet connection will have a seizure.
Haven't quite finished yet, but the above looks like it will work. The files are slowly slowly reappearing in icloud - and no duplicates!
Lastly there are some excellent articles well-hidden in apples help files - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4967
    and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999

Then you may have to try manually resetting the syncservices folder by following Julian Write's post (from https://discussions.apple.com/message/9274781#9274781):
Ok, as you can't reset SyncServices in the "normal" way, you'll have to resort to the "other" way:
Although it's not advised to do so in normal circumstances, you'll need to manually delete the SyncServices folder.
Before doing so, you MUST make a backup of both your Contacts and Calendars:
In Address Book, choose *Export > Address Book Archive...* from the File menu.
In iCal, choose *Back up iCal...* from the File menu.
Then, make a backup of the SyncServices folder located at:
    ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices
By backing everything up first, you don't risk losing anything.
Finally delete the aforementioned SyncServices folder and restart the Mac. This will force Mac OS X to recreate the SyncServices folder, and hopefully fix your problem.
I believe in Snow Leopard you can back up your calendar in File>Export>iCal Archive rather than File>Back up iCal as posted above.

I can't sync like in past with my iPhone 5 to MacBook... color ball spins and it want's to go to App Store? Never connects
In past, when I connected USB cable it tarted syncing... now it shows grey IPhone so it knows it's connected, but doesn't let me select it. I keeps going to the store and never "responds" so I have to Force Quit each time.
I tried using Bluetooth and it almost worked but then said the iPhone didn't support my MacBook. ?!?
I figure everything is so automated (old term from an old guy) that I've missed something. I miss the Apple 2e's and c's sometimes. I've almost wanted to ask verbally my phone to do it but am holding that adventure until I hear from someone. [ I asked my iPad one time for help and it told me it was busy and ask later.  "Seri-ously:-)  ]

  • Has apple come up with a way to sync ToDo on macbook with Notes on iPhone?

has apple come up with a way to sync ToDo on macbook with Notes on iPhone?
i hate how i have to write notes in both places.

Either that or they don't care. It's been glaring right in front of us for 16 months and you can't even use the built in Apple apps from the iPhone to work with Apple apps on your desktop. Try writing a note on your iPhone, it won't work, you get to compose an email instead. Huh??
Yes put it in the suggestion box. Just like everyone who has done so since day one.

  • Is there a way to sync my google calander with my iPhone/iTouch? or atleast with iCal?

Is there a way to sync my google calander with my iPhone/iTouch with itunes as you can sync contacts? or atleast how can i sync my google calander with iCal?

That's not how it should work.
As paulsalter noted, you should add Google calendar to your iCal on the Mac and Calendar app on iPad.
If you sync the iPad calendar with iTunes, it would only get updated when you sync it.
If you sync it with Google calendar, the iPad and the Mac will both get updated when you update one.
To add Google calendar to yrou Mac, see this  -> Get Started with CalDAV - Sync with iCal
Then add the Google calendar to your iPad.
See this -> CalDAV: CalDAV Calendar Sync

I am not able to sync my outlook contacts with my iphone (both ways) noting that the calendar and notes are suncing perfectly (both ways)?

You cannot sync Outlook 2011 directly with an iPhone, but if you go to the Tools menu and choose Sync Services, you can have Outlook sync with iCal and Address Book, which will then sync with the iPhone. And if your business is using Microsoft Exchange, you can set the iPhone up to communicate and sync directly with the Exchange server.

Hi Lyssa! Many thanks for your answer!
I had my suspicions about something like that. Apparently Apple wants to have FULL CONTROL of its users lives. I have been using Apple products since the late 80’s and I, so far, still do.
I find it a bit funny but mostly stupid that Apple has removed the syncing function between iPhone and Mac. So, even if you are a ’loyal’ Apple user, you now have to publish your whole life on iCloud if you want to copy your calendar and contacts to your OWN iPhone from your computer/vice versa, because that is what this is all about. Otherwise, you can’t sync between the iPhone and your computer, even if you are loyal to Apple, using both their laptop and their phone.
I do not want to do that and therefore I now have decided to leave the Apple platform for good. So, next time I choose a computer, a phone etc, it will not be an Apple product. Goodbye Apple!
Many thanks again, Lyssa. Have a nice day!

Usually if you have some kind of hardware failure there is some beeping during POST or most motherboards now have LED indicators to produce and error message based on the type of failure
So if its bad memory, not place properly, mismatched, processor not inserted properly, mismatched voltage or voltage connector not present etc it beeps or generates the error id.
Power supplies can be tested for failure. There are some walk throughs for testing just them with a switch, paperclip or a jumper (I'd suggest not doing this if you are not familiar with the dangers of electricity).
Memory can be tested with memory diagnostics programs like Memtest+
Processors can overheat if the proper precautions have not been taken usually you will get a POST beep or error code for that.
If the motherboard has no response then do the basics first:
Check power connectors and power supply. Once you determine that is not the case move on to other items like graphics cards in all the way or memory.

I can't import o sync my videos made with my IPhone 4S. Have try ICloud Photo Stream, IPhoto, Image Capture, Drang and Drop, Dropbox, also turning it on and off, nothing seams to work. Can someone please give a efective solution? Thanks

The iPhoto app (version 9.4.3) on my iMac (with OS X, version 10.8.4) no longer imports videos from my iPhone 5 (with the latest version of iOS).  This problem arose suddenly roughly one month ago.  Whenever I connect my iPhone to the iMac, all my photos are imported without a problem, but I get the following error message for all of the videos on the iPhone:
I get the same error message when my children try to import videos from their 5th gen iPod touches.  The videos simply do not get imported and they remain on my iPhone anmd the iPod touches.  Strangely, I can send the videos via iMessage or email to other iPhones/iPod touches and they play with no problem on the recipient iDevices.
Again, this problem began suddenly roughly one month ago - I was able to import videos from my iPhone 5 without incident before it suddenly stopped working - and I am stumped at how to correct this problem.
I do not have any issues with storage capacity on my iMac, so that possible explanation can be ruled out.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I can't pair my MacBook with my iPhone 5c. Any suggestions on how to do it? I've tried switching Bluetooth off and on again, toying with AirDrop, but nothing works. There MUST be an easy way to send a file from the iPhone directly to the MacBook, right?

What version of Mac OS X are you running? Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac.
