STS Global Status Tracking

Hi all,
I have implemented a planning process containing several subplans using the STS and also Web Interfaces. Everything works fine for the time being, but I need to have an specific screen in which to display a global snapshot of the planning process, and I haven't found how to do it.
What I am trying to implement is an screen similar to those standard of the STS, but It should show sales offices as rows (I have them at the subplans hierarchy as planning nodes) and each of the subplans as columns. In this way, our Finance Managers would have a fast look of the current situation regarding the planning process.
Could you please help me to implement this functionality?
Many thanks in advance,
Eduardo.

I finally decide to make a copy of tunguska and customize it to follow business requirements. However, when trying to activate the copy, the system outputs several warnings and a couple of errors, all of them syntax-related.
Edit: I have just copied and tried to activate, no modifications done yet...
Any clue on this, please?
Thanks in advance,
Eduardo.

  • BPS - Status & Tracking

    Hello,
I am using status & tracking for planning.
I have configured the tracking as per the how to document, assigned users for each level, the time for planning etc.
But the problem is even after the specified time the user is able to edit data although the the sheets should be locked.
Also once any user is submitted the sheets, ideally it should get locked but still he can reopen it and work on the sheet.
Probably I am missing something. Could anybody please tell what needs to be done for locking the sheets.
    Regards
    Vanya

    Hi,
We also had a similar situation and we realised that the following has to be done :
Under STS Customisation (txn.: BPS_TC), you need to define the header characteristics (this is under the radio button - "Define header Chars forPlanning Session"). Here we had to define the Sub Plan and the Planning Round as selection criteris. What we experienced prior to providing this was that it was possible to change the budget/Plan figures even after the budget was approved. Providing this in the selection criteria helped in the "locking" of a Cost Center budget figures(STS uses the Sub Plan together with the Cost center for locking purposes)
Try this if it works .
    Thanks and best regards
    Bala.

  • Status tracking system

    Hello
We have a Status tracking system. I want to find out what are the tables which are being used for this STS in the backend..can somone suggest me how should i proceed.

    Dear graeme brannen  ,
    STS Definition
The BW-BPS Status and Tracking System helps you to monitor the progress of the different planning tasks within your company. The system keeps a record of the iterations which run through a specific planning task in practice (requirement notification bottom-up, resource assignment top-down) and brings together the planning objects created in the planning environment with the employees who use these objects to process the actual planning tasks.
You could get more information ON STS here

  • Status & Tracking system History

    Hello Everybody,
I have a special situation here. I need to show my clients my Status and Tracking system history. Let me give u a mudane example,
A cost  center account undergoes twice budget changes both the times with the 'accepted' status. I should show the client in a report when and what amount has this account undergone during the two budget changes like this
Account   Changed on     Changed amount   Approved by              Requested by
    23423       14.05.2007          100000€           Thomas Escher          Wolf schere
    23423       13.06.2007          120000€          Thomas Escher          Wolf schere
    My question,
Do status & tracking system hzas table where i can get this information. !?
If not do you have any other approach on mind for this issue!?
    Any idea is highly appreciated,
    Regards & many thanks indeed,
    Karthik

STS data is contained in tables starting 'UPS'.
However, the STS history is not going to show which accounts changed, by whom, I think. It can show the status change history by user for a planned unit. (Click the  'Present status' link in the STS. )
If you want to see which user changed particular values you would have to set the BPS model to record the user id and date/time; it could generate very large amounts of data.

  • Status Tracking System and IP

    Hi,
If one is to implement a brand new planning system using IP (no existing STS), what is the recommended strategy on status tracking?
    Thanks,
    William Lee

    Hello William,
you can also use the old STS from BW 3.5 for integrated planning. But as far as I know there won't be any further progress in this area. SAP is just developing (in cooperation with DSAG) a new STS as replacement. So if you can wait, you should use the new one if it's comming in time

  • IDOC Status, Tracking in SAP PI/PO Single Stack

    Hi All,
My PO version: 7.4, SP4. I am not sure my questions below are still a limitation in current PI/PO single stack systems, and hence requesting your help for the same.
    1) Is there a way we can track outbound idocs in SAP PI/PO single stack similar to PI abap stack IDX5? ( Note:- I couldn't find any option in IDOC monitoring in single stack SAP PO 7.4, SP4)
    2) IDOC status is always 0 in SAP PO 7.4 single stack IDOC monitoring. I am not sure if this status is just specific to my PO system. Any setting needs to be applied?
ps: Please post only relevant answers/solutions

    Hi there,
I wanted to select some Chords on the global chord track, but the marquee tool doesn't seem to work here. When i click & drag (with the marquee tool, of course!), no marquee will draw, but the first chord that i touch is selected and pulled away from it's position.
I consider this a bug, but maybe it's a feature - can somebody help me?

  • Shipping status tracking in B2B with out XSI

    Hi Gurus,
We are implementing the the standard B2b application with ECC6.0 as the backend.
We are not using XSI fuctionality in ECC to get the information of the shipping status.
But they still get the the tracking number (VL02n) in to the ECC. Now We need to get this Information Into B2B shop for status tracking.
Do we need to XSI to be enabled to bring the tracking Information into B2B?
How can we do this with out XSI?
Can we still use the tables TCAURL , TCAVAR with out creating the Express Delivery companny.
If this need total customization can some one run me through the steps on how we can achive this.
    Thank You.

    Hi,
When you tracking number, I hope you mean the Airway Bill Number or Bill of Lading that is seen in transaction "Edit Delivery" vl02n.
The display of the delivery number is a standard feature of the B2B Webshop. This will be displayed at the item level.
However, the bill of lading to be displayed is not standard. There is development required in both, ABAP and JAVA (ISA) level.
We had implemented this in CRM ISA, so we had to use a Custom FM (RFC) by using a standard BAPI to return the Airway Bill Number when it was provided the delivery number as the input.
Further, the JAVA web page that displays the order status has to be modified to call your custom RFC.
This is the basic path for the solution.
    Regards,
    Nelson.

  • Status-Tracking on ACE

    Hello
On the CSM there was a feature called status tracking, it's description:
    Router(config-module-csm)# vserver
    dependent_virtserver_name
Identifies the dependent virtual server and enters the virtual server configuration mode.
    Router(config-slb-vserver)#
    virtual ip-address [ip-mask]
    protocol port-number [service {ftp
    | rtsp | termination}]
Sets the IP address for the dependent virtual server optional port number or name and the connection coupling and type2. The protocol value is tcp, udp, any (no port number is required), or a number value (no port number is required).
    Router(config-slb-vserver)#
    status-tracking
    tracked_virtserver_name
Identifies the tracked virtual server. When this virtual server is taken out of service or fails, the dependent virtual server identified in Step 1 is automatically taken out of service.
    From http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/csm/4.2.x/configuration/guide/mapolcy.html
I am wondering if anyone knows of a similar feature in ACE?
The additional complexity is now the dependant vserver and tracked vserver are in different ACE contexts, does anybody know if there is way to track vservers in a different context?
Got to admit I'm relatively new to ACE but hope this makes sense.
Thanks for any replies in advance
    Martin

    Hi Ulrich
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I was clear on my question, the PROBE would allow me to check the first service is up. What I want to do is make the internal server unavalaible if the external is not PROBING correctly or vice versa. I recognise now this is not identical to status-tracking which operates at a VIP level.
In an example I have two FTP servers which are dual homed with internal and external interfaces in a DMZ both of which are load balanced using the ACE. If the external interface goes down I would want the internal real server to be marked out of service so as FTP traffic is no longer sent there and vice versa if the internal went down I would want to mark the external as down. The configuration in this case is there are different contexts for the internal and external - not saying that's ideal from a security perspective but you can only play with the cards your dealt!.
    Thanks
    Martin

In my system i have a requirement to use one of the object that is assigned to a switch. Switcn is active but when i tried to activate the object(Table) i'm getting switch is inactive.
Switch is Active but global status is OFF.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hy ,
    try reading this:
    /people/thomas.weiss/blog/2008/02/04/the-three-use-cases-of-the-enhancement-and-switch-framework--part-5-the-basics-about-switching
To Switch on a switch you activate the corresponding Business Function. You cant switch the switches themselves (thats SAP-Logic again    )  .

  • Status Tracking system Hierarchy Maintenance.

In BPS status tracking system, is it mandatory to have a topmost node of the organisational Structure node to be text node?
for example : If I have a structure like Head Office-> Regional Sales Manager--> Area Sales Manager, then do I need to have a text node above Head office with some heading?

    Santosh ,
its necessary that you have it as text node.
but not very sure why you would  want it to be other than text.

  • How to view the Design layout for Status tracking in bw 3.5?

    Hi all,
I am new to bps 3.5 ? and i have a status and tracking in the development created by some one.  i am able to execute it, but then i would like to see the desing layout of it.
    How the layout is design.
Can anyone help me on this!!
    Thanks
    Pooja

To my way of thinking, you do not so much design the STS layout as to customiise or configure the STS. This is done with transaction code BPS_TC. Certainily some admin user will need access in order to adjust the configuration from time to time, to set new dates, people, organisation changes and so on. Different authorizations are required for 'standard' users, 'super' users (with an overview of the whole process. and 'admin' who can configure the STS. But BPS_TC does not allow you to see or to change the layout of STS. (The program can be found from SE80 in BSP Application  TUNGUSKA.)
    Help is at:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/ff/3deba47cf511d5b3e30050dadfb23f/frameset.htm
I think you would need a very compelling reason to change the basic design.
