Stuck at import ABAP

Hello All,
I am installing SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 ABAP Trial Version .
Everything went fine until Step 18 of 27 Import ABAP
It got stuck at that step and nothing happens.
I waited for more than an hour.
What should I do?
Thanks
George

After waiting for several hours I see the following on the status bar:
Import Monitor jobs: running 1, waiting 1, completed 26, failed 0, total 28
The status bar did progress.
But still this is too long!
It is still stuck in the step Import ABAP

  • Got stuck at import abap phase during system installation from system copy

    hi,
we have ECC6 ehp4 sp5 level system (linux + db2), due to some reasons our quality system was crashed, we took homogeneous  system copy of Production server through sapinst and now  we are restoring in Quality server through sapinst. during import ABAP phase its taking long time to pass  and system message its showing is
waiting 6134 minites for DDL template file DDLDB6.tpl in dump directories.
i stopped installation and once again started restoration through system copy. Now the system go stuck at the same phase

    Hi,
AFAIK, report SMIGR_CREATE_DDL should be run in se38 before starting the export. This generates the required DDL statements which are needed for system copy.
For more info, refer system copy guide in http://service.sap.com/instguides. Hope this helps.

  • System copy stuck on "Import ABAP" with "Invalid Migration Key"

    Dear Team,
I'm performing a system copy from AS400/DB2 (of our ECC DEV) to AIX/DB2. Export has been completed successfully, while importing it is stuck on the "Import ABAP" phase with error "Invalid Migration Key". However the key is generated with correct parameters only and even we have tried the key from SAP NOTE: 1768158 but of no use.
Below is brief about systems environment:
    Source System
    OS : AS/400 (IBM i-Series V6R1)
DB : DB/400 (Integrated DB with IBM i)
    NW: NW 7.00 ( ECC 6.0 with SP11)
    Target System
    OS : AIX 7.1
    DB: DB2 10.1 with FP3
    NW: NW 7.00 ( ECC 6.0 with SP11)
The process is being performed using SWPM SP05
Kindly find the test_MIGKEY.log for analysis and let me know if any ideas.
    Thanks in advance,
    SUJIT

I found below error , are you doing this in distributed environment ?
Is source and target kernels are same ?
    Found error in the log.
DbSl Trace: DbSlConnect to 'ECT' as 'sapect' failed
    (DB) ERROR: db_connect rc = 256
DbSl Trace: DbSlConnect to 'ECT' as 'sapect' failed
(DB) ERROR: DbSlErrorMsg rc = 29
ERROR: invalid migration keybut the system wrote other errors instead, for example, (DB) ERROR: db_connect rc = 256, this does not involve an incorrect migration key.  The errors should refer here to the actual cause (for example, the connect to the DB does not work). In this case, first check the database connect with the command <Z2 R3trans -x or R3load -testconnect, that must be executed as <sid>adm. Also make sure that the R3load that is used during the export and import has the same kernel release (for example, 7.00). You can check the relevant version of the R3load using 'R3load -version'.

    Hi all,
I am trying to do a new installation of NW 7.3 by importing data from a system copy.

I am new to this operation, can you please help me?

  • Import ABAP Stuck ECC 6.0 installation

I am installing ECC 6.0 on Windows and Max DB. It is stuck on Import ABAP step. It is almost two days now and doing nothing.
I tried to execute command as per OSS 814704. Comand is not working.
02 May 2006  ABAP/ABAP+Java: Installation Stuck in Load Phase
    Problem
The installation sometimes gets stuck in the ABAP "Load Data" phase. No more entries are written to the log files. No problems are apparent with the database.
    Solution
Enter the following SQL command as database user SAP<SID>, either from SQL Studio or from a dbmcli session:
CHECK TABLE "/MAXDB/INDEXSTATEMENTS" WITH LONG CHECK
This automatically frees up the load.
    Thanks

    You get an error message?

    Hi
I'm afraid you forget selecting the SSFS option during installation and it is the only connection method supported for kernel 7.40
It should be possible to fix this manually and perform all the step to connect using SSFS... but restarting your installation might be faster & easier.
1622837 - Secure connection of AS ABAP to Oracle via SSFS
As of SAP Kernel Release 7.40 (irrespective of the Oracle version), only the secure connection (secure connect) is supported via SSFS.

  • SAPNWABAP701SR1_TRIAL installation - Phase 18 Import ABAP never ends

    Hi all!
I already checked this discussion in the forum but it doesn't seem to be a only-way resolution.
I am trying to install SAPNWABAP701SR1_TRIAL and the computer spent the hole night just at the 18th phase (Import ABAP). At the status bar says: "Import monitor jobs: running 3, waiting 23, completed 2, failed 0, total 28".
At my first try i thought it was the RAM size or the virtual memoty but now they are 1.6GB and 4GB respectivelly.
For what i read i list possible problems:
    - JRE version is 1.4.2_11
    - JDK is not installed, just the JRE
    - enviroment variables are not set
    - loopback interface's ip address is 192.168.1.7 (and not 10.10.10.1) as my local network is 192.168.1.0
the host file is like that:
    192.168.1.7   myHostName
please can anyone can tell me if this items might be the reason why i can't complete the installation?
    Thank you a lot!.
Edited by: Fabio Luiz Esperati Pagoti on Jun 12, 2009 2:38 PM

    Hi Fabio,
I too had the same problem. During my first run, I waited for 2-3 hrs and since there was no progress, I ended the installation. After much trouble, I started again and this time, when the installation was (seemingly) stuck at this step, I thought of checking the logs and I saw that infact processing was happening in the background. For me it took 7 hours 30 minutes for this to be completed. So be patient and the installation will proceed.
When this step is running, you can see the status using the log file: C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\NW701\AS-ABAP\ADA\CENTRAL\import_monitor.log. There you will find lines like:
Loading of 'DOKCLU' import package is started.
Loading of 'SAPSSEXC_1' import package is started.
    and so on......
In the same folder you will see log files with these names (DOKCLU, SAPSSEXC_1, etc). If you continuously review them, you can see the progress.

Divyanshu - sorry to ask but can you explain why i need to update r3load and r3trans to resolve this error? Just want to understand why I'm doing a correction so I can learn from the same.
Also, can you clarify the file update process:
    For R3load:
    a) the r3load used by the command is dated 8/16/2011 (location:C:\usr\sap\AVV\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\...)
    b) the r3load i have in my db folder is dated 10/23/2011 (location:C:\Final\Installer\BS7i2011_Installation_Master_\DATA_UNITS\BS2011_IM_WINDOWS_X86_64\ORA\UC\...)
    Do i replace (a) with (b)?
    For R3trans:
How do I update this file?

    Hi Mrudul,
Understood you have downloaded the completed IDES SAP 2005 SR2 package, i have also downloaded it several months ago, but i found the package not full good when i prepare to install it last week, 3 of 35 Exp unpackage CRC32 error(51032413_part15.rar & 51032413_part16.rar & 51032413_part17.rar) when unpackage them, can you do me a favor to share me the 3 rar files? As the original download address have been obsoleted away service.sap.com, i can tell you my FTP site to store them.

    Am i missing something?
Data in referred tables (infocubes) isn't really important.
Is there a safe way to proceed?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

And this is the strange point: my source system is not a BI and my dataclasses .SQL files are not empty.
Me too i would expect that the files should be empty but instead they are full of object definitions.
For example i have APPL0.SQL that contains a list of all tables of ECC system, for example
    tab: MAMT
    sql:     CREATE TABLE "MAMT"
            ("MANDT" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000003)
            DEFAULT '000' NOT NULL,
            "MATNR" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000018)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "SPRAS" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000001)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "MEINH" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000003)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "MTXID" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000002)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "LFDNR" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000002)
            DEFAULT '00' NOT NULL,
            "MAKTM" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000040)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL)
            IN "&location&"
            INDEX IN "&locationI&"
            LONG  IN "&locationL&"
          COMPRESS YES;
          ALTER TABLE "MAMT" LOCKSIZE ROW;
and like this for all others tables.
What would occur if i launch an import with such .SQL files?
(shuld i put this question to another thread or is fine for you to answer on this?)
    Thank you again.

  • System copy --- Import issue in Import ABAP phase

HI Team, We are doing migration using system export/import method from win2008/SQL2008 to Win2012/SQL2012 . While doing export there was a problem with table  SOFFCONT1 , So we have followed the note 1922094  and changed the size of the package  from  1 GB to 2 GB  in SOFFCONT1.cmd , After this We have exported the data from the source system using SWPM tool. Now we are importing in to Target system , During the Import ABAP phase we are facing the below issue for same table SOFFCONT1 . Could you please tell us how to fix this issue . Do we need to do same activity for the table while importing also ? =============================================================== H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: START OF LOG: 20140712143736 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: sccsid @(#) $Id: //bas/721_REL/src/R3ld/R3load/R3ldmain.c#8 $ SAP H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: version R7.20/V1.6 [UNICODE] Compiled Dec 4 2013 17:25:27 patchinfo (patches.h): (0.138) Abort R3load task if TOC file has not entry for the table (note 1914260) process id 11608 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe -ctf I \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DATA\SOFFCONT1.STR C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\BS2005\ERP60SR3 \LM\COPY\MSS\SYSTEM\CENTRAL\AS-ABAP\DDLMSS.TPL SOFFCONT1.TSK MSS -l SOFFCONT1.log H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: job completed H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: END OF LOG: 20140712143736 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: START OF LOG: 20140712143736 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: sccsid @(#) $Id: //bas/721_REL/src/R3ld/R3load/R3ldmain.c#8 $ SAP H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: version R7.20/V1.6 [UNICODE] Compiled Dec 4 2013 17:25:27 patchinfo (patches.h): (0.138) Abort R3load task if TOC file has not entry for the table (note 1914260) process id 10364 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe -i SOFFCONT1.cmd -dbcodepage 4103 -l SOFFCONT1.log -loadprocedure fast (DB) INFO: connected to DB (GSI) INFO: dbname = "GFGH-SAP- " (GSI) INFO: vname = "MSSQL " (GSI) INFO: hostname = "GFGH-SAP- " (GSI) INFO: sysname = "Windows NT" (GSI) INFO: nodename = "GFGH-SAP-" (GSI) INFO: release = "6.3" (GSI) INFO: version = "9600 " (GSI) INFO: machine = "6x AMD64 Level 21 (Mod 2 Step 0)" (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file SQLFiles.LST (SQL) INFO: SQLFiles.LST not found (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/SQLFiles.LST (SQL) INFO: \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/SQLFiles.LST not found (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file APPL1.SQL (SQL) INFO: APPL1.SQL not found (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/MSS/APPL1.SQL (SQL) INFO: \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/MSS/APPL1.SQL not found (DB) INFO: SOFFCONT1 created (DB) INFO: SOFFCONT1~0 created Interface access functions from dynamic library dbmssslib.dll loaded. • Error during Heterogeneous System Copy -  Phase 18 Import ABAP

    Hello gurus,
I´m facing an error during the Target Installation in a Heterogeneous System Copy (Migration). The system SAP is a SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 (Unicode and Abap+Java).
    Source server:
Operation System:  Windows 2003 Server x64
    Database: SQL Server 2008 SP01
    Target server:
Operation System:  Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) X64
    Database: Oracle DB 10.2g (10.2.0.4)
I already did the all procedures in export database and all that looks fine!
At this point I´m running the system copy procedure through SAPInst on target server (RHEL / Oracle) but in phase 18 - Import ABAP the sapinst stops... (by the way in procedure bar, I can see "Import Monitor jobs: running 0, waiting 1, completed 0, failed 18, total 19")
    I checked three log files (sapinst_dev.log ; sapinst.log ; SAPSDIC.log):
    SAPSDIC.log:

    Hi Volker,

    > Can you attach the DDLORA.TPL.

  • Unable to open the export file during Import ABAP phase on tar(System copy)

    Hi Experts,
We are encountering the following error during Import ABAP phase on target system as we are performing system copy on target system as part of hardware migration(Data center migration).
    Scenario:
    Sourrce system -  BI- ABAP(7.01), Win 2003 x64 unicode,Oracle 10.2.0.4
    Target system - BI-ABAP(7.01), Win 2008 R2 unicode, Oracle 11.2.0.1
Actually on source system the data has been generated using migration monitor by using table splitting option and transferred on target system thru ftp option.
During Import process while selecting the Database installation type we have selected the installation method as "Standard systemcopy/Migration(load based)" and not checked the option "Start Migration montior Manually".
As far as my concern this error has nothing to do with this selection.please correct me If i am wrong.
