Stuck at the apple logo when connecting to iTunes.

I have a problem when connecting to iTunes.
So here is the story: The Airplane Mode is enabled for an hour before my phone died. I charged my phone and the message "Activation Required" appeared. I slide the unlock button and the message "Connect to iTunes" appeared. So, I connected my iphone to itunes, but my phone is not opening, it is stuck at the apple logo. This happened to me for the second time. But the 1st time it happened, it worked. But now, it is stuck at the apple logo and it's not opening. What can I do? Please help.

Holding option on boot loads the startup manager to display the OSX Install DVD, but not the HDD.
Likely means the drive is dead.
If I choose the DVD at the startup manager or by holding the c key on startup, it yields the same result. The DVD spins up w/the apple logo on the screen and no spinning gear below. Then after 30 seconds, the DVD spins down and the screen hangs indefinitely.
Well if you upgraded the OS to 10.6, the firmware might have been changed so you can't c or option key boot off the 10.5 disks any longer.  Or the 10.5 disks might have gone bad, you can't get replacements anymore.
Your likely looking at a drive replacement, depending what the machine is, it's condiition etc.

I would try installing OS X 10.6.3 onto a blank external powered drive (hold c boot, use DU to format GUID OS X extended J), you can then hold the option key and boot from it see if your machine is the problem or just the drive.
Then make your internal drive replacement decison.
Far as OS goes, on a 10.5 era machine I wouldn't go past 10.6.8. for speed and stability reasons.
10.7 is a nightmare except for 2011 hardware IMO.

Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • My iPod touch (4th gen is stuck on the apple logo when you first turn it on?

So, my iPod has been acting weird since I updated to iOS 5.1.1 It gets fully carged and dies in three minutes. Well now it gets stuck on the apple logo at startup. It does the apple logo and shuts off and goes to the apple logo again. It does this repeatedly. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried resetting it multiple times, delete all the apps, all the music.

Hey Edgar, how exactly did you do the updates? Are you running iTunes 11.2.2? And you iPod 5 is still running iOS 6.1.2 as your tag shows? or are you running iOS 7.1.1?  More info would be helpful. As Deggie asked, what was the error message, the more detailed the better. One more thing-- is this a Mac machine or a PC? Cheers.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod is stuck on the apple logo and won't connect to itunes

So hey guys, I tried doing everything to fix my unresponsive/frozen ipod touch 4th generation, but nothing seems to work. I remember the last time it worked was when I was restoring it but then I did the thing where you would hold the power and menu button which got me stuck to the apple logo (when it boots up) Now nothing works because I tried resetting and I can't restore because my ipod doesn't seem to be recognized by itunes but yet it charges. My last hope would be either return this or get an answer from one of you guys. Thanks!

    - I would try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then see if iTunes will see the iPod.  try both with the iPod not connected to the computer and with it connect. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Next see if placing the the iPod in DFU mode will make it visible

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

  • I dropped my iphone 4, and it wont turn on unless connected to a power source. even then its stuck on the apple logo.but once i take it off the power source it shuts off and wont turn on.

I dropped my iphone 4 and it shut off and when i tried to cut it on it wouldnt. so i connected it to a power source and it tunred on but stay stucked on the apple logo. so when i discounted it shut off. it only turns on when connected to a power source but not on its own. i tired to connect it to itunes no help, i tried to press the home and power button still no help.

Your last try would be a restore if you can get iTunes to recognize the phone. If not, you have probably damaged the device beyond repair. You can go to see Apple about an out of warranty replacement. The cost for the iPhone 4 is $149US, you can check for your location.

My iPhone is stuck on the Apple Logo and when I try to restore I get an unkown error (14) I dont know where to go from here there doesnt seem to be any other discussions like this

    Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.

Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes, then restart the iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons until you see the Apple logo. If that don't fix you problem take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

What happens when you try to connect it to your iTunes library in Recovery Mode?  See this article for steps on how to put your iPod Touch into recovery mode.  Don't be afraid to try this more than once.

  • HT1414 my iphone is stuck on the apple logo...the computer is not recognizing it when plugged in.  how can I restore

My iphone 4 is stuck on the apple logo.  Even when plugged into the computer, it will not prompt for itunes.  What can I do to restore or get the operating system working again?

Try DFU Mode Restore. Here are the steps:
Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release Power button, keep holding Home button. When iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, if iPhone screen is blank, black this is DFU Mode. Usually takes up to 20 more seconds of holding Home button. Restore the iPhone firmware. DFU Mode can be a bit tricky even for experienced users, so keep trying to get DFU Mode. Again it is Recovery Mode with the blank, black screen. If you have the iTunes screen this is not DFU Mode, keep trying.

  • How can you fix your iphone when it is stuck on the apple logo

My Friend has an iPhone 3G(S) and  he wanted to put music on his iPhone. So he connected it to iTunes and said that the iPhone Had an iOS update. so he did the update and after the update, it got stop on the apple logo and it got an error and the iPhone is not responding and it is stuck on the Apple Logo.

Alright Hernan there are a couple of steps you could try.
Your first step has been mentioned twice, that is a "Hard reset". This can be done by holding both the Power/Lock Button (Top left hand corner of the device) and the Home Button (Circular button in the Bottom-Middle of the device) for about 3-5 seconds until the device shuts down, then attempt to start it up again.
If this fails, you may have to take a rather drastic measure and put the device into "Forced Recovery Mode". This will erase all your data on your iPhone (So I'd hope you won't have to do this unless you backed up recently) and reset it to an empty device.
To do this, head over to this article on the Apple Support Site and follow the instructions.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.
It does say for unable to restore or update, but look for the section where it says "Use the following steps to place your device into recovery mode."
    Hope this helps you!
