Stuck at the Lenovo-Bootscreen

Hello everybody, since I've shutdown my 3000N200 it cannot be booted again. When powering on, the Lenovo-bootscreen apears with a message "please wait..." at the bottom left side - but nothing ever happens. Touching any key (including care-button) leads directly to bios-configuration, but when saving the settings and exiting, the system again is stuck at the Lenovo-bootscreen. Tried booting from CD with the same result. Removed any cables, battery, even HD and RAM without success. Seems like I am stuck at the Bootscreen. What else can I do? Thanks in advance!

So last night i went on ahead with my software update. Everything went smooth and whatnot, as i was going to bed i went to go restart my mac. It said that it needed to install the updates first, so i clicked yeah and went to bed.
So I wake up this morning and my mac is off. Odd i thought, since I wanted it to restart, not shut down. I tried to turn it on and it powered up and such, but then it just got stuck at the VERY VERY beginning. It won't do anything once it reaches the silver screen with the platinum apple logo and the little silver spinny thing nothing happens. I tried the power button on the back and disconnecting the power cord, to no avail.
I guess last night the power went out in my neck of the woods, may be at the same time that the update was trying to install itself. If so, do you think it affected the computer as a whole?
What should I do? This has never ever happened before.
Thanks.
Excuse my informalness, sorry.
i don't really know the specs of my Mac since i don't have it infront of me. Sorry, but i bought it in November last year and it's a 20 inch display desktop mac. If that helps much. Thanks again.

  • Lenovo ThinkPad R500 gets stuck on the startup screen

    Hello!
I searched for a solution but couldn't find one.
In my company we only use Thinkpads and I got an R500 wich was replaced by a newer model.
It was working (I saw it), the admin told me he would delete the bios-password. He opened BIOS->Security (did see wich password he changed) closed it and gave it to me.
Now on startup it is stuck on the startup screen saying "To interrupt normal startup, press blue ThinkVantage button", and no button does anything. I removed CMOS-Battery but still the same.
    Any help appreciated

  • Has anyone deleted the Lenovo Store app on an A1?

I have no desire to use the Lenovo app store and I would like to delete the app which isn't a problem given that I have root access and the appropriate tool for deleting the app.
My only concern is what will happen to the toolbar on the bottom of the launch page since it includes a shortcut for launching the Lenovo Store app...does that shortcut just "disappear" , is it replaced with a different shortcut, is the shortcut permanently stuck on the toolbar as a dead shortcut, or is the shortcut just replaced with a blank area, or what?
Hopefully someone has already done this and can provide some feedback which would be appreciated.
    thanks

Thanks...does the toolbar (and thus the shortcut) remain if you switch to a different launcher or will the new launcher now control the entire screen including the toolbar area? Or, is the toolbar a permanent fixture no matter what you do?
I use the GO Launcher and the GO Locker. The toolbar becomes totally user definable. You can put anything at the bottom that you want. Very easy to use, and fairly intuitive. I have not found a way to get rid of the Lenovo App Shop. Pity.
BTW Go Launcher and Locker are free. You might also want to check out the GO Keyboard. Yes I know we have that, but it is customized for Lenovo, I like the standard GO Keyboard much better.

  • Pen stuck in the laptop! what do i do?

I just had my pen get stuck in my x61t, and didn't want to deal with the hassle of taking/shipping it someplace.  "Remove the label C screws" wasn't a very useful set of instructions for me, so I'm describing the process here.  This should apply to the x61t and x60t.
Basically, the right-click button on the pen has broken (you might not think it is, mine didn't appear broken until the pen became stuck), causing the switch that detects the pen's presence in the pen bay to catch on the hole where the right-click button belongs.  In my case the pen was not stuck due to a problem with the mechanism that normally holds the pen in place (which attaches to the clip on the pen), so you'll maybe have to do something slightly different if you suspect that. You should know if that is the case later because the tip end of the pen won't feel like it is stuck on anything if you try to move it once it is exposed.
To get at the pen compartment, I ended up having to remove the palm rest almost entirely, which requires removing the keyboard. Removing the palm rest isn't probably strictly necessary, but makes it a lot easier.  The keyboard is easy to remove.  It is held by 4 "C" screws on the bottom of the laptop, then put a small screwdriver in one of the small holes marked with a keyboard icon on the bottom of the laptop to pop it up partially.  Once the space bar end of the keyboard is up (you have to pry it out from under the palm rest, it helps to slide the keyboard towards display hinge end of the laptop a little), slide the keyboard towards the palm rest to unhook the top edge.Lift up the keyboard a little, and disconnect the keyboard connector from the laptop.  It should pry up with only a little pressure from your fingernail at the two left corners of the connector.  There is a clear strip of plastic to the right of the connector that looks like it is part of it, but it is separate, leave it alone.  Once the keyboard is up, move it away and you might as well shake out all the dirt someplace while you're at it.
The palm rest requires the "A" screw on the bottom of the laptop near where the pen goes in AND 6 "C" screws to be removed (so now all "C" screws except the two on the display end of the bottom of the laptop are removed).  You can't just remove C screws, you need to remove the "A" screw, this is important!!  Removing all this will loosen up the palm rest, but it is still partially hooked into the case on the left & right sides.  To unhook the edge by the hard drive, I recommend removing the large unlabeled screw next to the microphone jac to remove the hard drive bay cover.  Then you can unhook that side by gently pulling out (to your right) and down on the "hook" part that was previously somewhat inside the bay cover. The other side of the palm rest should release mostly on its own.
The tricky part now is that the hole for the right-click button of the pen is stuck to the pen switch assemply (which is attached to the laptop, towards the hinge side of the pen bay), while the eraser end of the pen is in the pam rest, so you still can't remove the palm rest all the way.  What I found worked is to gently raise the palm rest without forcing it, just enough so that the tip of the pen can be reached by a finger or tool.  Push on the eraser end of the pen to push the pen farther into the pen bay and, while still pushing on the eraser end, gently reach under the palm rest and pull the now exposed tip of the pen up and towards you. Pushing on the eraser end once or twice while doing this should free the pen to eject normally.  The right-click button will probably shoot off of the pen on its way out.
If you want to instead try to remove the minimum possible (just loosen the palm rest and not remove the keyboard), you need to remove at least the 4 "C" screws on the palm end of the laptop and the one "A" screw.  Raise the palm rest as little as possible without forcing, get a tool in there to pull the tip end of the pen up and toward you, and push the eraser end of the pen.  This didn't unstick the pen for me because I couldn't see what I was doing or needed to do, but is probably possible.
Hope this helps someone.  The maintenance manual for x60t/x61t is at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-66749 and has some diagrams that help.  Page 83 has a diagram of the pen switch assembly (don't follow those instructions though, you don't have to all that!), and page 68 shows how to remove the palm rest.

  • S90 stuck at the boot screen

My S90 is stuck at the boot screen. It shows the booth screen for hours now. If I switch the power button it will not swtich off the phone, but restart it again to the boot screen. What should I do with it? I considered that I could let it run out of battery, but I am not sure how much the phone can run on a simple booth screen with just the lenovo log on the screen. Also not sure if once I recharge it would not have the same problem. Any advice how to solve this?

I have no idea how it got stuck at the boot screen (the one after powered by android). The phone was out of battery, I connected it to the charger, immediately turned it on, and it got stuck. Draining did not help so I tried to fully charge it. That did not help. It was stuck at the boot screen until 5am (local time) so I had to follow the other instructions. That got me to a menu that let me choose the language between English and Chinese. Then I could reboot the device, power it off, install updates (or something similar), or wipe up device. Reboot or Power still got me back to being stuck at the boot screen. Install updates did not work. So I had to wipe up the data. That gave me two options (a) fuse wipe up data and (b) fuse format data (or something similar). No idea what the difference is, or what that does, but I was worried I will loose all my photos stored on the phone. But since I had no choice I decided to press "fuse wipe up data". That seems to have factory reset the phone. It started normally and it appears as after a factory resent (all my own apps and settings are gone). I had to pick the language and agree with Lenovo license agreement, etc. However, for some reason, all my photos were still in the phone's gallery (why?), so I  am now copying them to the pc. So that's how far I got so far. Thanks for your very valuable help and advice. Let's see if I encounter any more issues with it or any other peculiarities.

Ya, the iPod is soaked and you are getting connections between various pins and points on the electronics. So what to do is what the other poster said, turn it off and just forget about it for a week or two.
Do you have a clothes drier at home for laundry? If so, next time you do laundry, after you dry your clothes and take them out, while the drier is still warm, put the iPod inside and close the door (do NOT turn it on of course).
But basically I think you have to wait for it to dry out. If you are comfortable with it, you might want to open up the iPod (crack open the case) and let it sit open for a few days.

  • How do I Find/Set/Change a Bluetooth passkey on a T61 laptop with the Lenovo US/Eng Vista OS image?

I purchased a T61 two years ago. It came with the Lenovo Vista Ultimate OS, US/English.  The T61 has Bluetooth, which I never used until now.
I try to pair a cell phone and a PDA (both Palm devices) with the T61, and the devices ask for the T61's Bluetooth Passkey. I don't know what the passkey value is, nor do I see anywhere to set, change or enter it.
This is how I know the the Bluetooth device driver is working on the T61: 1- The BT icon shows in the taskbar, the BT controt panels open, and even in Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Bluetooth Devices, the phone name shows up. And strangely enough, at the bottom of the control panel, when the phone is listed (is discoverable), it shows "Paired: Yes", "Authenticated: No", attached image shows these values.
I'm stumped. Where do I lookup, set or change the T61's Bluetooth passkey?

Unfortunately that is not working. I've tried 0000, 000000, 00000000, 1234, and 123456 as the keys.  No popups, no response whatsoever on the T61.
The devices seem to wait some timeout period and then a message "cannot connect to T61...". I don't have the exact message here in front of me, but can get it if need be.

  • A clean install on my MacBook Pro has left my icons stuck on the right side of the desktop. I want to move them but there is no 'None' option which I think would free them to move where I wish. Suggestions?

A clean install on my MacBook Pro has left me with my icons stuck in the grid on the right side of my desktop. I had the ability to move them and have them stay put in various sectors of the desktop, which I found very useful.  The clean install upgraded the OS to 10.6.8 from 10.5.8. I want to move them again but there I see no 'None' option which I think would free them to move where I wish. Has the upgrade deleted that option? Suggestions? I am new to this community and if not new to Mac, I often feel that way. This is one of those times.

I have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

I often arrange windows around the desktop and sometimes I inadvertently push a window up too far and the title bar gets under the menu bar. Once I let go of the arrow, the title bar is too far under the menu bar and I can no longer reach it to move it down. The only solution is to close out the program and start over. Is there a way unbeknownst to me to select the title bar again and move it?

My E*Trade streaming watch list was stuck under the Menu Bar also. I tried reseting the screen resolution down to 1280 x 1024, and restarting the MarketTrader. There on the display was the stuck window, out from under. I resized and moved it to a central location, and resized the display back to my normal 1920 setting. And to my relief, the window Bar! • My White Macbook is stuck at the loading screen, and disk utility, safe mode doesn't work either. What should I do?

I went on vacation a few days ago and in El Salvador, they have this mobile broadband sticks. Well, I was using one until it gave me a network error. After that, it shut down my computer entirely. The first time it happened, I didn't think much of it. I took the battery out and put it back in for it could work. It happened another two times, and after the third time, my MacBook stays stuck at the loading screen, and it will take 5-10 minutes on that screen, before it shuts down, or it wouldn't turn on at all. I've tried booting into safe mode, but it appears to not boot into it. I've tried resetting the Pram, and using disk utility, but that still won't work. I don't know what else to do to make it boot into  OS X  Lion.
I'm an AP student, and the majority of my work is in that computer, and it is very important! What can I do? Not only that, but I enter school in a few weeks and I need the AP work by the time I enter.
What can I do? Can someone help?
    Thanks

    Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • Internet recovery gets stuck on the spinning globe with the progress bar below.

    Hello Everybody!
I'm trying to fix the iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) of my friend. He said it doesn't boot anymore and just gets stuck on the grey screen with the Apple logo and the spinning wheel below. So my first step was to go into the Startup Manager by pressing the Option key after the chime. There I was presented with the Macintosh HD and the Recovery HD. After selecting the Recovery HD to access the Disk Utilities I got stuck on the grey screen with the Apple logo and the spinning wheel again. So I guess the data on the drive is corrupted and might have to be replaced. But before I do that, I wanted to give the Internet Recovery a try. I connected the iMac to the internet using an ethernet cable and pressed Command + Option + R after the chime and the spinning globe appeared with the info: "starting recovery process from network. This may take a while". After a short time the sentences are replaced by a progress bar and a timer that is counting up. The progress bar then moved for a tiny little bit and then nothing happens anymore but the timer keeps counting up. I waited for quiet some time before I gave up. I did not get any errors so I can't provide any other useful information. Can anyone give my some advice? I read in other posts that the ISPs of specific countries block ports which are needed for the internet recovery. I'm in Thailand right now. Does anyone know if that might cause the problem?
Thank you for all your help!
