Stuck at "updating Icloud settings"

. I see "update successfull" and then I put in password. The next screen shows the "updating icloud settings". I can't get beyond that. The thing just keeps spinning and then the phone shuts down.
Any ideas how to proceed. Right now I am holding a usless Iphone 4.I can access nothing! Help!

I had this problem too on my ipad. Resetting fixed it by holding on/off button and home button at the same time.

Shouldn't take more than a few seconds to a minute. If it's stuck, you might want to give Apple support a call to see if they are experiencing unreported server issues. Since your device is new, you are within the 90-day free call support period. You can set up the call here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/. You will need your serial number, which is on the box and (I believe) the back of your iPad.

IOS7 update went by smoothly, but on PC and on iPhone 4 updating iCloud settings taking 60 minutes?? help??

I started my update around 9:45. I plugged my 8 gb iPhone 4 into my acer aspire V5 computer, and had to download the iCloud control panel and the new version of iTunes before I could download iOS7. did all that, the update went by quickly, I'd say 25-30 minutes tops. I previously deleted all apps from my phone except for Pandora, Skype, and Candy Crush (had to get my fix on the bus this morning) and my photos were all deleted as well. Whatever, I wanted to clean my phone out anyway. Now both my PC and my iPhone are still "updating iCloud settings" and it's going on an hour. Is it supposed to be taking this long? How much longer will I have to wait? I won't have a wifi connection all day and I don't want to do anything to mess up the software on either device. Thanks!

i also have been told to hard-reset my phone, but my lock button is jammed and i can't use it to turn the phone on or off....

Why is the ios7 update freezing at the "updating iCloud settings" page?

I have updated to ios7, but when i get to the last few steps, the phone stays on the updating iCloud settings forever till the screen locks and i have to start over. Is this normal? What am i doing wrong or what can i do to fix it?

Same on iPad2. If you skip it you can use the device, BUT you cannot go into the iCloud setting. It ends up freezing the settings panel.

Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message.

Since I have updated my ipad2 to iOS7 it has been at the "Updating iCloud settings". 3 hours have elapsed now without any indication on progress being made. Also if I do not touch my ipad every 15 minutes it will turn off. By the looks of it turning off undoes all progress being made.

Problem in updating icloud settings

It is taking me more than 24 hours to finish updating icloud settings after I upgraded my iphone from iOS 7.0.1 to iOS 7.0.3. And, I am not able to use my phone as of now. This is pathetic since I can neither can make call or receive call durin this period. Please, suggest what I should be doing in this situation. Thanks.

Stuck on "updating icloud setting" and i cant turn off phone

So I recieved an update for ios 7.02 and I got to the part where it wanted to update icloud, so i put in my info, and now its beenover 5 hours and it still says the same thing. Usually I would just turn the phone back on and off. But i can no do this. My lovely phone decided that its power button will get stuck and not work- so if my phone turns off it essentialy turns off forever. I was wondering if the update has been this long or longer for anybody else or if I can fix this in any way.

So I've just updated my iphone 4 and waited for it to do its own thing, had it plugged into charger but not my PC. It installed the update then turned itself off came up with apple logo then loaded then did it again. Then came up with "hello" and slide to set up, then directed me to sign into my apple account which I did just fine now it's just frozen on updating I cloud settings, it won't turn off it won't stop doing it it's just frozen! Can anyone help or suggest anything my nearest apple shop is an hour away!
