Stuck between countries with regards to AppleCare+

I recently purchased an unlocked iPhone 6 in Canada. I spend about half of my year in Canada and half in Ireland. I got AppleCare+ with my iPhone as extra insurance in case I ever ran into trouble. Unfortunately, I ended up cracking my phone's screen which isn't a big deal since I'm allocated 2 accidental damage repairs for a small fee.
I contact Apple Ireland who were willing to help until they realized that my phone was purchased in Canada and told me to contact Apple Canada. I wasn't able to contact Apple Canada because their toll free number can only be accessed when you're actually in Canada. Anyways, ended up getting in contact with the support team through the chat service. They referred me back to Apple Ireland/my local carrier to help fix my screen. Went to the local carrier store and they said since I bought the phone directly off Apple, they can't touch it.
So basically despite purchasing AppleCare+, it's acted as more of a hindrance than help and I've spent the last few weeks using a cracked screen phone because I want it to be fixed by Apple directly.
I'd appreciate anyone's advice on how to proceed from here. Thanks.

Apple's warranties are only honored in the country where the phone was purchased. In your case this would be Canada. Apple Ireland is not obligated to fix your phone. You would need to send your phone back to the store in Canada or directly to Apple for repair or ask the Ireland store manager to see if he would be willing to contact Apple directly to obtain permission to do the repairs for you. Or you can buy another phone in Ireland. The Apple warranty is honored throughout the EU, but not in Canada.
