Stuck Hold Button and Replacement Help

My Ipod wouldn't turn on a few days ago.
I finally realized that it was because my hold button is broken. It's stuck on hold. I have tried moving it in a lot of ways and it won't unhold.
Before I discovered this I sent in a replacement/repair request to Ipod. the box arrived today. The problem I described was that the ipod would not turn on etc.
I'm really nervous now though, cause it said on the policy etc that if they don't have the part/find it not broken etc they charge you up to 100 dollars. I'm afraid that my description will be incorrect or that it knocking around in the box or something will make it not broken anymore.
Should I send it back in the box that came? what else should I try?
I don't want to pay anything for repairs. I bought this at the end of august so it's still under warranty

I think you'll find that this very rarely happens. The usual thing if Apple finds no problem with the iPod is to return it and there's no charge.
If you pack it properly in the box it shouldn't get knocked around.

I presume that you mean that the switches do not light up as appropriate when you select a Patch in MS?
If so, in Layout Mode, select each of the buttons in turn, and check that they are a) Assigned to the correct MIDI CC number etc, and b) that "Send Value to" has the correct Port selected.

N8 hold button and alarm tone

After purchasing the N8 (and being generally very happy with it) I have had at least 10 incidences where I have been talking to a client, and as I hold the phone relatively close to my cheek, this has activated the "Hold"-button on the screen, muting the conversation. This button should be smaller and be placed further down on the screen, or there should be an option to delete it completely - I never use this function, and I am sure many others don't use it. The second issue is the clock alarm - this will only make the phone vibrate, there is no sound in any setting (general, silent, meeting etc.) Is there a fix for this?

That's strange...Mine always vibrated and had sound in alarms. The phone even has the option to chose which sound you want to use as alarm
Go to settings->Phone->Time and date->Clock alarm tone
And mine used to function in General and silent profiles (never used the other ones)

Dynamic Creation of Buttons and Actions HELP

Hi there,
I have got a problem (or maybe even two) with the dynamic Creation of buttons. The code below creates the buttons.
My main problem is, that the parameter created for the button's action isn't propagated to the assigned event handler. I get a null, though the name of the parameter in the event handler and the name of the parameter added to the action are the same.
Could it also be that I'm always using the same action? I.e. does wdThis.wdGetAddElementAction() always return the same action instance? If yes, how can I create individual actions for each button?
Any help is appreciated!

You have done everything correctly....except for 1 line
in the code...
Replace the following line in your code:
actionAddElement.getActionParameters().addParameter("featureIndex", new Integer(i).toString());
Replace the above line with this code:
button.mappingOfOnAction().addParameter("featureIndex",i);
Actually in your code, you are not associating the parameter with the button...
Note that addParameter(...) comes with two signatures: addParameter(String param, String value) and addParameter(String param, int value). You can use any of them based on yuor need.

Hold Button and Headphone Jack problems (not a question, DO NOT ANSWER)

I received an old iPod with color display when the hold button appeared to be locked. The previous owner gave it to me for free. I waited about 3 years and finally looked into actually opening and fixing it. It turns out that a small ribbon cable connects the headphone jack and hold switch to the motherboard. The cable simply came out of its jack on the motherboard. All that was needed to fix the problem was simply opening the iPod and reconnecting the cable. The blue tool pictured is not necessary. A few flathead precision screwdrivers work perfectly. Try it and good luck!

Find and replace help needed, multiple variables

So far I only know how to find one thing and replace with another, rather than finding variables and replacing them with one thing.

In the Find field of the Find and Replace dialog box, enter this:
(href\s*=\s*\"\/example\/examplefolder\/enquiry\.asp)\?pid=\d+(\")
In the Replace field, enter this:
$1$2
Select the "Use regular expression" checkbox.
Explanation:
The two sets of parentheses are capturing groups, which capture the actual values as $1 and $2.
The \s* matches zero or more spaces.
\" matches a double quote.
\/ matches a forward slash.
\? matches a question mark
\d+ matches one or more numbers.

Find and replace help needed deleting multiple Word bookmarks

I'm importing sections of a Word document. The Word documents have bookmarks such as:
    <h3><a name="_Toc226886762" id="_Toc226886762">Fixed-variable</a></h3>
I would like to do a sitewide search and replace, deleting all the bookmarks (they all start with Toc) but keeping the heading format and the text. I've tried various options, but nothing is working.

I just tried it again. When I clicked Replace All, the dialogue box disappeared. When I opened it again, I found a small square box at the end of the search string. When I tried to copy and paste it to here, it didn't show up. <a name="_Toc[^>]+>([^<]+)</a>
When I was searching and getting no results, I had copied and pasted a section with only one bookmark in it. It was in the child of a template, but I can't see how that would make a difference.

Search and Replace help. Please

I have imported some text where in the original there is italic content but when bringing into IDCS4 that italic text shows up as _italic words_. That is as roman with _ characters surrounding it. Is there a way to search and replace. Needless to say the text between the _s varies.

I would try a GREP find/change searching for (_)([^_]+)(_) and replace with $2 Set the change formatting to italics (preferably as a character style). This translates to look for a _, then anything that is not a _, followed by another _, and replace with only the stuff in between. You can also use (_)(.+?)(_) which would match the shortest srting in between two _ characters in the same way (except it won't cross a paragraph break), but it will run a bit slower.

The hold button and volume buttons have stopped working on my iTouch 4. How can I fix it?

I've only had it for about 6 months. It's never been dropped or abused in any way. All of the sudden, the buttons just stopped working. How can I fix it? Please help!!

The issue with the battery is a problem. The last battery I purchased was at the end of September, so it is NOT old. I would think that a battery would last longer than 6 months, considering the original one lasted up until that point. Granted it would not hold as much of a charge, but it still worked at least. So, at this point, I would think it would be a problem with the laptop and not the battery. I have asked a few friends of mine, who are IT professionals and they said that it is probably an issue with the internal power supply. I've also tried replacing the AC adapter and that did not work either. As you said, you get what you pay for. Since I paid a good price for this laptop I would think it would last longer than it has. The other 2 I have do not have this issue. The DV5215us is on it's second battery, which is reasonable, and it does not have this charging problem. The tx1115nr also does not have this problem and is still on its original battery. One would think that since the earlier generations of product would have more problems than the latter, but I guess that is not the case.
Like I stated eariler I am rough on my laptops and I should probably look at ones that are built more rigid.

Ipod touch wont turn on, holding buttons doesnt work, HELP!!

So last night, I went to bed setting my iPod next to me on the floor. I wake up this morning, and it will not respond to anything I press. I charged it for an hour, I held the power button, home button, both, for over a minute each. I need help... I don't know if I can send it in with a warranty being valid, I got it as a present used for Christmas. I'm so angry at Apple, it seems like this is a common problem, but everyone else's operates after holding the buttons. It is an iPod Touch, 4th gen, 32 gb. It doesnt connect to iTunes, it won't show up as charging, and it will not turn on or respond.

- See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod.

Stuck with problems and no help

We are stuck with the following set of problems. Repeated entries to this forum have not fetced any response. If anybody can help us on any of these issues, please reply -
1. We are not able to define any custom validator. We made our own validator that extends CompareValidor, but when we try to apply this rule to an attribute in the validation tab, we get the error - "no properties defined". Do i need to do something else besides creating a new class that extends CompareValidator and then writing my own code in the vlaidate method.
2. While deploying our jspApplication on java web server, we are getting the message "error - null". The details are as mentioned in the Topic 'can anyone help!!!' that has been posted by Prabhdeep ().
3. I have two tables, Customer and address. There is no FK between them (there cannot be because address is shared between many entities). In the address, i have 2 fields, BpType and BpId. BpType will contain 'C' to identity that this address is for a customer and id will have the customer id. In jdev 3.1, i have created entity and view objects for the 2 tables. also, i have made a view link. i need to put the condition Address.bpid = customer.customeid and address.bptype = 'c'. but it is not letting me put the second part of the condition. the chk on id works fine. as soon as i add a chk on type and test the application module, then while insertion of address i get the following error - "set method for BpType cannot be resolved".
4. I have made a jsp appl based on bc4j. now, i need to put a check on any entity in such a manner that if the check fails, my jsp should ask the user that an exception is occuring and does he want to save even with the exceptional data. if he says yes, i want that the same entity should now save the data without giving an exception. How do i achieve this interaction between my entity and my jsp.

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what is
happening. At first I thought you meant that you couldn't even add the second part of the association clause. But, later it sounds like you were able to add the second part of the clause (namely "address.bptype =
'c'") and that you are experiencing some runtime error.
Assuming the latter (that it is a RT problem), I take it this
"...cannot be resolved" error is the error with code 27020.
Under normal error conditions, you shouldn't get this error. Something "unusual" (or unforeseen by us) is happening if you are getting this error. Anyway, if you wrote your own client code, you should wrap a try/catch block around it, pick out the detail exception, and see what's going
on. See the example code below:

i'm not sure if it is the right part for my pc. Can I use any CR2032 battery or should I use CR2030E ?

I think that you may use it. The "E" on the old battery could be "enhanced" and the size is the same as I noticed. The main issue should be the size and the voltage. Both are the same..

the following code has 2 buttons, how would i use a button to get me differnt graphics but inside the same window,

X61 max capacity for HDD and replacement help

Specs for the X61 say the X61 takes a 100(7200) or a 160 GB (5400 rpm). I replaced my original with a 120 from Seagate that failed and they sent me a Momentus 7200 250 Gb drive that won't clone with their Disk Wizard software.
Is the size a problem? Or is it their program? Should I try either Easeus or Acronis? Will the demo versions work?
I can't use Lenovo's R&R because I wiped the original Vista it came with and installed my own XP. If I need to reinstall Windows on the new drive because I can't clone it, after I format and reinstall XP, will R&R allow me to recover everything else or will I have to install everything from scratch and just recover my data from the old drive in a USB case. My old drive is not "dead" - just has errors.

The iMac has Firewire ports (one of which is FW800, I believe, on the newest models) so you can add more storage externally. If you put in a larger drive you will need an external one at least the same size or larger for backups. If you plan to use Time Machine for backups then you need backup capacity about twice the size of the main hard drive. That means an external RAID array to provide 2 TBs to backup a 1 TB drive or 3 TBs for that big Seagate drive.
