Stuck in a set up loophole, can anyone help?

I have recently changed handsets from iphone 3 to iphone 4S. I backed up info on computer (via iTunes backup) before putting new sim in iphone4. I then restored as per instructions but cannot now get passed the screen:
Set up as new iphone
Restore from iCloud backup
Restore from iTunes backup.
I have definitely restored already from iTunes backup but cannot get past the page to start using my phone. Vodafone said it was an apple issue. Can anyone help please?

Grrrrrrrr!!! Getting really frustratiing now. I had a lenghty session on the phone with the 'help' desk to resolve the broadband connection problem and eventually after the switch off/switch back on again, move your Home Hub port from 1 to 4 and then back again, reboot everything, factory reset the YouView box we got that to connect.
Then another call because I could not see either BT Sport or the additional 18 Entertainment channels and after the " I am 100% sure we will have this fixed for you" and the reboot, switch off/switch on etc etc I had neither the extra channels or a broadband connection.
Last night I tried a few things on my own and seemed to get an Internet connection, so I left it like that overnight (thinking maybe updates happened in that time) and this morning it's back to square one - No Internet connection and no BT Sport etc.
During set up when the box is searching for the router and Internet the blue broadband light is flashing every 10 secs approx and the screen flickers briefly showing the next and retry buttons then back to the spinning wheel.
Beginning to wish I had stuck with 'council telly' lol
Forgot to add - I used the ethernet cable from the baack of the YouView box and plugged it into my laptop - Speedtest.net is telling me 30.92Mbps download and 8.7Mbps upload.
I also have a PC connected to the Hub via ethernet but not on at the same time and it is set to wirelessly connect to an Ipad and an Inkjet Printer. Could there be some Hub set up conflict because of these??

You have to go to icloud.com from your computer browser, not from your iPad. When you do, you won't bet the prompt to install iCloud.

My daughter forgot her password and we took it to Apple for a restore. When they did that it wiped it clean except the email address and password attached. Now, she can not remember her id and password for login to even go through set up. So, does anyone know how to get passed this and reset that so we can start over completly? ty

i lost my ipod 4 a while ago, and have just found out about the app, find my iphone. and i was wondering, i didnt set icloud up on it so could i still use the app to find it, if i got it. Please i need help, and if not does anybody know another way that i could find it?

You need the find my iphone setup in order to track, remote wipe etc. I hope you changed passwords, contacted the police..

The only legitimate way to unlock an iPhone is to contact the carrier that the phone is locked to and ask them to unlock it. Some will, some will not.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Hi,
To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp

There isn't anything in contacts that has "create a group" . That's why this is so frustrating. I've tried creating a new contact and dragging names into it - doesn't work. I can't find anything that helps!!! What am I missing?

There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod. What is your "old iTunes"? Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend?

my corecenter temp sometimes says im at 60 cel at idle....and i have the most recent update...i would rely on speedfan for temp control...core center seems to always read 3 degrees higher than speedfan on my pc....
i wouldnt be too concerned...those temps are pretty low to begin with.

All that you had to do was to sign into the old account in order to update those apps. What I mean is that you just needed to sign into that account in the store settings like I described and that should have worked. You didnt need to enter the credit card information again - you justed needed to use the old ID and password.
Anyway, I think the good news is that if everything else is OK with the new account, just download iBooks with the new ID - it's a free app so its not like you have to pay for it again. I'm not sure what the other App is that you are talking about - but if it is the Apple Store App - that is free as well.
Try this anyway, when you try to update iBooks, just use the old password if the old ID still pops up.
Did you try signing into the store settings with your new ID and see what happens with the updates then?
