RECENTLY GOT A GIFT PACKED IPHONE 4S. LAST NIGHT MY PHONE WAS IN DFU MODE. IJUST WANTED TO UPDATE NEW FIRMWARE. BUT WHEN I CONNECTED TO LAPTOP AFTER PRESSED RECOVERY IT TOOK TIME AND SHOWD AN ERROR 1611 . WHATS THE MATTER . ITRIED ON ANOTHER PC BUT SAME PROB IM STILL IN DFU PLZ HELP ME

I put my 3g into dfu without it connected to itunes. I cant use it or connect it to itunes to restore.
PLease help. Is ther any way to connect it back to itunes.

FIRST look for AppleMobileDeviceService.exe as I described. If it is running try plugging into a USB port on the BACK of the computer rather than the front. Also unplug any other USB devices except for keyboard and mouse.
How did it get into DFU mode? Was it spontaneous, or did you do it intentionally?
If AppleMobileDeviceService.exe is NOT listed in the Task Manager go to the Control Panel and open Administrative Tools, then Services. Find Apple Mobile Device and double click it. It should not be running (because you did not see it in the task list). Click the Start button. Wait for it to start and try connecting the iPhone again. If it isn't in the Services screen you must completely uninstall iTunes, then reinstall it from a freshly downloaded copy from http://www.apple.com/itunes. That's a hardware problem which will require a trip to the Apple store for evaluation, unless your phone has been jailbroken, then it's a corrupt hosts file (and we can't help you with that here as it is against the forum's terms of use).

My Third Generation iPod Touch is stuck in DFU Mode (Completely Black Screen) and I cannot exit it as I have a broken Sleep/Wake button on the iPod. Even worse, iTunes will not see the device so I can restore it.
The only thing that I can think of is to wait until it's battery has completely drained and then restore it.
Please help me!

You need to perform a DFU Mode Restore of the iPhone with iTunes on computer. You must also have a SIM card of the original Carrier that this iPhone was produced for.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Can I still retrieve my data in iPhone 4s stuck in DFU mode?

My iPhone 4s was suddenly ended in DFU loop. I already talked to Apple store and their only solution is to replace another new one for me. However, I still have a lot of information and photo in that phone which I didn't backup, so I hope I can retrieve the data using some softwares. Unforturnately nothing worked so far: Dr.Fone, TinyUmbrella, Recboot, etc. Here comes fundamental question: Can I still retrieve/access data in iPhone 4s that is stuck in DFU mode (with device ID: 0x1227)? If yes, which tool can help me?

Hi, my iPhone was water damaged, and was stuck in dfu but wouldn't restore due to error 2001, this is what I did,
The phone is not jail broke or unlocked its straight, I striped the phone and cleaned all the boards and let them dry
Out, I've heard that if an I-device has error remove the power supply for a few days, and since royal mail thought my battery was a packet of drugs they ript the back of and snapped the battery cable, I am perusing royal mail about the damage they have done, so I got a knew batt and put it all together, I pressed the on button and the home button for ten seconds, then web I started to boot I let go of the on button, waited for ten seconds and the phone came up as normal, no connect to I-tunes screen, I put the USB lead in and restored my phone to a bran new phone and then updated it to the latest firmware, the phone is fine, every thing works and it turns on and of with no problems, I hope this helps people out their.

IOS is 5.1.1 and was jailbroken. the battery was messed up so i got a new one and put it in my self it worked but it keep shuting off by its self. how can i fix it? It started out with a white screen, i watched a youtube video to fix it. it worked. Then it started shuting off by its self. i tryed to restore it with itunes it keep giving me error codes. I agree with John, if you are going through more than 2 error codes that are ALL different (say for example 1604 and 21, they should be back and forth depending on what you do to correct it), you're having serious hardware failure.

Are you using a valid Apple charger that came with the iPad?
Attempting to use a computer USB port, an incompatible charger, or attempting to charge via a wall socket that only receives power from a wall switch — can all lead to a low, or depleted battery condition. Has this iPad been wet, or dropped?
Verify all of the above, and correct. If the iPad still cannot hold a charge, consider taking to an Apple Store, or authorized service provider to evaluate it.

By "sos mode" do you mean recovery mode? If so, you have to connect it to iTunes and restore it.
