Stuck in Edit

I have a list page that is stuck in Edit.  Every time you open the page it's in edit with the option to "STOP editing this list."
How do I make it stop?  The list have multiple views - not all views are stuck - one the default view.
The problem started with losing the "NEW" option - when I deleted on of the views, it reappeared. But I'm stuck in EDIT.
I'm hoping someone has a suggestion! PLEASE?

  • Enterprise Manager / Guest stuck as "Editing"

There is a bug in EM Grid Control with OVM where if a guest is in Error, and you edit it, it will allow the edit but then error out. The issue is that EM thinks the edit is successful (all the steps show it as successful), but if you dig into the process, you see it error out.
The log of the successful process are as follows:
    Setting up repository contexts
The current status of virtual machine ERROR is not valid for the operation.
Setting the virtual machine status to EDITING
Step: Edit Virtual Machine has been executed successfully.
Now the guest is stuck in "Editing" and you are not able to do anything to change the status.
Normally in VM Manager I'd edit the database to change the status manually, but with EM Grid Control, I'm not sure the process to do this.
    Thoughts?

  • Photo stuck on edit requesting red eye but there are no eyes in photo and cannot move away or go back

Photo stuck on one photo cannot move on or back . Initiated through edit with red eye option selected - in error as there are no eyes visible how do I cancel this?

Close the photos app in the recents tray and then reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Photos icon. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Dell XPS 12 bios update stuck. Edit: computer is working, problem with EC

    Hi all,
The touch screen stopped responding. On several forums a bios update was suggested.
Tried to update from A06 with the new one A07 from the dell web site.
    My model is the 9Q33.
The bios update procedure is stuck in the programming EC stage at 43% for over a day now.
I don't want to unplug the machine and wait for the battery to discharge because it will probably brick out the machine.
    Any suggestions?
Edit: Having stuck at 43% I decided to unplug the machine and wait for it to shut down. It run out of power and it turned off. Thankfully the machine was working fine and the bios had been update successfully.
Looking at the event viewer there was an error saying that the EC (embedded controller) has not responded on time or something similar. And it also said that probably the bios does not communicate the EC correctly.
Therefore as far as I can say the EC firmware is not updated correctly.
Is this a problem and what should I do?
P.S. The touch screen worked again after several restarts

I had the exact same problem with the same model computer while attempting to update to BIOS A07 as "recommended" on the Dell support web site..  About 2 hours into the update, my system was reporting 28% complete and appeared totally frozen.  Even the clock had stopped updating in the lower right corner of the screen.
Another 2 hours later, it was at 43%.  Eventually it got to 71% complete, but stayed there without advancing for 10 hours or so.  I called tech support.  They advised me to shut down the computer.  It would not shut down.  So following the step by step direction from tech support on the phone, I removed the bottom panel of the computer and unplugged the internal battery to get the computer to shut down.
When I rebooted, the BIOS screen reported that BIOS version A07 had indeed been installed.  Now, however, my computer hangs every time I attempt to boot from a fully powered down condition.  If I force a shut down and then restart, it starts fine.
Removing the video driver and using the Microsoft generic video driver resolves the problem -- the computer boots just fine.  Unfortunately, I can't run the generic driver because I need to support external monitors...
If anyone out there has BIOS version A07 running on a 9Q33 and has no trouble booting from after a full system shutdown, I'd like to know what version of the video driver you are running.  I have tried several different driver versions without success.
(Also, I might note that I am very grateful to Dell's tech support for walking me through the process of recovering from the stalled BIOS update, even though my system is beyond its warranty.)
EDIT -- PARTIAL SOLUTION (or at least a more complete diagnosis of the problem...)
My computer will boot correctly after shutdown when I disable "Fast Startup" in Windows.  This is frustrating, tho, since fast startup is supposed to be important features of windows 8 (and 8.1, which I am running).
So it seems possible that the current intel video driver on the Dell web site may be incompatible with fast startup after installing BIOS A07 with Windows 8.1.  Either that, or there is some other software on my computer that interacts with the video driver that causes the incompatibility with fast startup.
Again, I make this conclusion based on the following observations:
    1) my computer boots just fine after shutdown with "fast startup" enabled if I remove the intel video driver and use the microsoft generic video driver
    2) it boots just fine after shutdown with the intel video driver installed, but fast startup disabled.
    3) the computer consistently hangs on boot after a shutdown if the video driver is installed and fast startup enbled.
    4) the computer boot fine after "restart" (rather than "shutdown") no matter what -- but this is because "restart" circumvents fast startup even when fast startup is enabled!
Here is a link that shows nicely how to disable fast startup in windows.
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6320-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-8-a.html
(BTW, my video driver is Intel HD Graphics Family 10.18.10.3574 -- the latest currently available on the dell web site.  I also tried a more recent version -- something like 10.18.10.3910; can't remember exactly -- and had the same problem).
Again, anyone who has BIOS A07 working on a 9Q33 with Windows 8.1 and fast-startup enabled, I'd love to know the version of your video driver.  Thanks!
EDIT #2: PART OF A LARGER PROBLEM
Turns out my computer won't wake from any sort of sleep or hibernate unless the video driver is disabled. Turning off "fast startup" solved my boot problems only because "shutdown" is a form of hibernation when "fast startup" is enabled. Thus, the problem has been waking from hibernation all along...
My problem  is getting far afield from this thread, so I have started a new one.

EDIT #3:  Downgrading to BIOS A06 resolved the problem.  See details in new thread (follow link on line above this one.)

  • Photo stuck in edit (crop)

I have an iPhone 4s (my first).  I tried editing a photo by cropping on the phone and it appears that I cannot progress to the actual 'crop.'  I don't have a "crop" button - just "Constrain" I touch that and have tried everything but it just won't crop and move ahead.  At this point I would even delete the picture just to move on but I can't get anywhere!  Please help.

  • Screen is stuck in edit mode, but no edit capacity ...

Any ideas on how to force adobe out of edit model.. In documents  screen, shows edit, allows ticking, but no editing. Will not load from document list. Will load from search list or recents... Ideas?

Try two things, and see if either of them fixes the problem:
    (1) Force quit Adobe Reader: Click the Home button to return to the Home screen. Double-click the Home button to see the list of recent apps. Click and hold over Adobe Reader until you see a red "delete" icon. Press again to delete Reader from memory. Relaunch Reader.
    (2) Reset your iPad: Hold down the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. Keep them down through the "Slide to shut down..." message until you see the Apple icon, then let go. The iPad will reset. Relaunch Reader.

    Hi jayeshfrommiddlesex,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
These articles can help with resolving the error 29 and restoring your iPhone:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error29
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

  • Aperture got stuck while editing a photo in full screen mode and doesn't respond to commands

How do I stop Aperture when it is completely stuck and will not even respond to alt-cmd-esc?

then use option + command  Delete to force quit Aperture.
Force quitting is to be avoided if possible, since it can corrupt the Aperture Library and the User preferences file or other settings.
If Aperture seems to be stuck and unresponsive, quite often it is a deadlock in the graphical user interface, but the application itself still may respond to the "Terminate" signal, send by other processes:
Select the Aperture Dock icon, ctrl-click and select "Quit!
Select "Restart" from the     Apple-menu.
Or use the Terminal to send a Terminate-Signal:
Launch "Activity Monitor" (from Applications > Utilities) and find the Process ID of Aperture (PID, in the first column)
Open a Terminal and type in:
    kill -TERM Aperture's PID
Only if all these safer measures don't work, then use Force Quit on a database program like Aperture, but be prepared to run an "Aperture Library First Aid" afterwards, if you see signs of a corrupted library.

  • Stuck at "Edit Home Screen"

Just bought a new 3G iphone, once I got done setting it up in itunes it came up with a screen that says "Edit Home Screen" and I can't get it to go away. Any ideas?

Did you ever figure out how to solve this problem? I am now having the same problem. My iPhone is completely unusable as whenever I start up it goes to this screen, with a "dismiss" button that doesn't do anything. I have tried all of the troubleshooting tips, but nothing works.

  • Partitions stuck, cannot edit in anyway (Retina iMac 2014)

    I have a Retina Late 2014 iMac
I went to install Windows 8.1 using Bootcamp and run into an error message saying GPT or something along those lines. It wouldn't let me install to the partition Bootcamp had setup. Feeling frustrated and confused I used the Windows 8.1 install to start deleting all the random partitions I could find. Quite oblivious to the fact I was deleting my Fusion drive, recovery and other partitions that are important to my iMac's functioning.
It still wouldn't let me install windows 8.1. I restarted and realised the damage I had caused. Finally I managed to get windows 8.1 to install. But I no longer had a OS X installation.
I followed the instructions here from my other Mac to create a bootable yosemite usb installer and start fresh.
    Here my problem starts.
While I'm able to successfully install Yosemite it's no longer using the full 3TB of my fusion drive. It's only using 1TB I allocated it earlier in bootcamp. The remaining 2TB is in a partition called "03".
In Disk Utility from the Yosemite installer, Internet Recovery Installer & within Yosemite itself. They all have the same problem. I'm unable to do anything with those partitions. I wish to make my "Macintosh HD" partition use the full 3TB again.
Or be able to restore my mac as it come from the factory with the partitions set up correctly.
As you can see the + and - buttons are greyed out... the functions I believe I am supposed to use is all greyed out through out all the items. I have tried everything imaginable in Disk Utility from all three places (Yosemite installer, Internet Recovery Installer & within Yosemite itself) with no success.
It appears I have really messed things up.
    Any ideas?
thank you very much in advance for helping (:

I think I found the solution.
To anyone else having this problem where Disk Utility won't allow you to start fresh with partitions sometimes.
I used Gparted ( http://gparted.org ) and it managed to help me fix this problem. Now my drive is one partition almost like when it left the factory.
I installed Yosemite onto it and it's working a treat.

  • Whilst editing a photo, i have now found the picture is stuck. I

My photo has become stuck, whilst editing it, I can't get back to,the rest of my photos ?
    Any ideas ?

Quit the app completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Users locked out of editing Expense Reports

    Hi There,
Users of the system are reporting that they are frequently unable to edit their expense reports, as the system incorrectly believes that they are attempting to edit reports in multiple sessions.
A general error is occurring in which the user will be editing an expense report and will perform an action such as closing the browser, closing a browser window/tab or even simply exiting an expense report while using the application.
After returning to the report, an error message appears saying that they are editing the expense report even though they only have one session open.
This would suggest that upon performing such an action, the original session becomes stuck while editing the report, resulting in users having to wait long periods of time before this stuck session is automatically closed.
Is this a commonly known problem, and is there any way that this can be fixed?
    Thanks,
    Tom Wright

    Tom,
It's one of the biggest pains of the system! Requests have been submitted to SAP numerous times to stop locking people out of editing their reports for silly reasons that you mention. I am not sure if they have any intention of improving it.
There is a trick to unlocking the report for editing though.
    - log off the system
    - attempt to log back on with the wrong password
    - then log back on with the correct one
This action has worked 100% of the time in unlocking a report for edit.
    Best of luck,  Britt

  • Newbie question about editing template

I'm new to dreamweaver and I've been getting the hang of things but I'm stuck on editing my navigation bar. I know this might seem pretty beginner but I am very new to code and designing website.
I've been working on a website template and I've been mostly editing it from design than code. But here's my problem. This is how the navigation bar looks in live view:
    http://img684.imageshack.us/i/pic2me.jpg/
But when in design view, the navigation bar disappears.
I looked through the code and the template doesn't include any of the navigation bar text so I can't adjust it in the code.
Does anyone know what I should do?
    Thank you!

We need to see the code to comment.
How has the nav bar been inserted into the page?
Are you using Spry in Dreamweaver?
