Stuck in inifinite loop: Get the Upgrade to 10.3 Screen. But Can't Install

Trying to upgrade my moms laptop to work with her iPhone.
When iTunes opens it just displays the upgrade to 10.3 software (can't access store). Can't install the software becasue she needs to upgrade the system software. Can't upgrade the system software because she can't access the iTunes store.
This is pretty rediculous. Is there any solution other than having to go buy a physical installation disk?

If you download and install the 10.3.9 Combo Update, and run Repair Permissions, your applications may function again.

I am not too sure, but possibly you tried to download the wrong version. You should not have problems in future. The upgrade procedure has been streamlined since the days of Firefox 3.6 .

Force the phone into recovery mode & restore from your most recent backup:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone.

Problem getting the upgrade

Here's my problem, I goto the upgrade page, start the process, the little browser window opens up and there's nothing in it showiing the process starting. Frm Apple, I get the "Thank You" message and nothing is downloading....
Also,I'm running NIS 2006 now and it still won't let me get the upgrade..... Can I go to an Apple store and get the upgrade for windows?

I don't think an Apple store will have it, but worth a shot.

Stuck in a "loop" at the login window after upgrading to Leopard

I bought a new iMac Oct 26. It contained Tiger, and included a disk for installing Leopard. I easily got the machine up and running using Tiger, but last night I attempted to install Leopard. When the installation was complete, I tried to get it running. A screen asking for my password came up. I keyed that in and hit logon. Back came the screen asking for the password. To make long story short, I tried everything I could last night, and then called Apple Support this morning. Took quite a while, but I was back in business this afternoon. The technician who helped me sent me the email copied below describing the solution. Perhaps it will help someone else? Romelle

Issue or symptom
After installing Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on a 20-inch or 24-inch iMac (Late 2007) computer, you may not be able to log in at the login window. Your login name and password are apparently accepted, but after a blue screen appears for a few seconds, the login window reappears instead of your desktop.
Products affected
20-inch or 24-inch iMac (Late 2007) computer with 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8 GHz processors
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Solution
If Leopard is installed
Start up from the Leopard Install DVD and perform an Archive and Install installation (and select Preserve Users and Network Settings).
After the Archive and Install is complete, you should be able to successfully log in. Use Software Update to install any other updates.
Important: Install the iMac Software Update 1.3 for Leopard after the Archive and Install is complete.
If Leopard is not yet installed
If you have not yet installed Leopard on your 20-inch or 24-inch aluminum iMac computer with a 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8 GHz processor running Mac OS X 10.4.x, but previously installed the iMac Software Update 1.2, you should install the iMac Software Update 1.2.1 (Tiger) or later, before installing Leopard.

If Leopard came pre-installed and this is a new machne, then the disks that came in the box should let you archive install preserving users & network settings. The disks have a grey label, and if you get more than one use disk #1 for this procedure.
Hold down the "option" (also known as "alt" on the new keyboards) key when starting up with disk #1 in the optical drive. Select the install disk icon on the grey screen and click the arrow. Then when you get to the "select destination pane, click the options button after selecting your hard drive as the destination. In options A& I preserving should be checked by default, if not, select them. Click "ok" to dismiss the options pane, then run the installation.
If this does not work for you, call apple support. They want everything to work. Be patient, they are real busy these days.

He has just given you your answer - 'Snapdeal is not an authorised Apple seller' so no you can't.
Also, how on earth do you expect him to help you get an upgrade? This is a user forum.
The only way that you can upgrade is through your phone company/carrier and that is if you are elegible and you will have to pay.
If you don't have a contract with carrier and you want an iPhone 5, then you'll have to go out and buy one like everyone else.

The apps load on the iPhone only. G to the App Store and search for alternatives. There are many there.

But have you run the the iPhoto Library upgrader? It is installed in Applications > Utilities. Launch it and direct it to your iPhoto library.
Which version of iPhoto did you upgrade from?
The upgrader is only necessary, if you have been running iPhoto7.1.2 or earlier.

Might be a discount voucher near-term, to match up with past programs. That would positively scream "epic win" in addition to being a really nice gesture by Apple. But this is an educated guess.
We still have to find out how 10.4 and 10.5 holdouts from late '06-mid '09 (and y'all know who y'all are, ladies and gents) are going to get Lion based on the only system requirement of a 64-bit CPU. I suspect a Mac Box Set refresh would be in order for this task.
Also: how would one reinstall Lion "clean" if, say, the hard disk flips out or one just doesn't want excess baggage gumming up his machine? Recovery partitions assume the worst won't happen.
Unfortunately, this also leaves the earlier '06 Macs on life support and effectively kills off all prior Macs with PowerPC chips, so to anybody with a Core Duo or G-series chip, Apple wants you upgrading hardware--NOW!

I downloaded the latest version of firefox 3.6 and after loading i get the message "your version of firefox is no longer protected against online attacks " get the upgrade its fast and free.
I have downloaded this several times and i still get the same message.

Thanks for this; my issue is that I have now supposedly purchased a retail version of Acrobat X1 (i.e just spent more $$, after the upgrade attempt to Acrobat X1 failed), and while this feigns an OK install, it fails in someway to override the "Upgrade Acrobat X1 version". E.G. once I load up to read an acrobat file the "upgrade version" executes/intercepts and ask for serial numbers and check for a previous qualifying version which I do not have, (BUT what I do have is the current retail version of acrobat X1 which is not recognised)
Do I need to uninstall and start over again? (I am reluctant to do this as I am sure serial number issues will arise, as I assume downloaded file will be cleaned up etc, and I am not spending more money trying again!)
Any suggestions?
