Stuck in Message window. Can't access bottom of window to cancel -

We're stuck in a Message window in Mail because we cannot access the options at the bottom of the Message window. The only buttons accessible are the yellow button and green button at the top - the red and oval button in upper right are grayed out. This is a result of trying to send too many emails at once. We have to force quit mail because of this hanging Message window. This is happening in the new gmail account. Any suggestions welcome - Thanks!

It sounds like you're not in a message window, but the Activity Viewer instead. If so, you should be able to close that window by using Command-0 (command-zero). How many messages are/were you trying to send at once? Are you using the Message Viewer window with an upper- and lower pane to actually read the messages, or do you double-click to open each message in it's own separate window? Try starting Mail while holding down the Shift key and see what happens, and if you're still trying to send messages, do only 2-3 at once.
If you need to Force Quit, a crash log is still generated, which may point to the cause of the problem.

  • Laptop will not boot, stops at Toshiba screen then an error message. Can't access BIOS

I receive the following error message:
For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.2.7(11/02/10)
    Check cable connection!
    PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
Before it first shut down, there was some blue screen with a message I was unable to read in time. I turned it back on and got the above message. I have done some research and it sounds like some kind of hard drive problem. I've checked the hard drive connection and it's fine, the same message appears. I also saw that you can access BIOS(not sure what this is exactly, I've never used it) and then somehow recover, reset or change a boot setting that may have changed by itself. I can't access it though. I have tried F8, I have tried pressing escape as soon as the red Toshiba screen comes on, and also tried holding it and releasing when the tone sounds, then pressing F1 but all I get is a tone and no screen.
It's about to be finals week and I really need some help getting this fixed...preferrebly without having to by a new hard drive because all kinds of homework, papers and study info is on this computer. I haven't even had it for two years yet. I can attach a picture of the screen if needed but it's just a black screen with the above message.
    Thanks for any help!
EDIT: Satellite L655-S5150 and Windows 7
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It does sound like a hard drive related issue, be it a virus, or physical failure.  If you have fast boot enabled, you will need to hold down F8 while you power up, as just tapping F8 at the BIOS splash screen will not work.  If you are unable to recover that way, hopefully you created recovery media when you first got the laptop(it would have prompted you in the action center).
If that was not done, you could always swap in a new hdd to get the system up and running, and get a eSATA to USB cable to get all of your info off your old drive.

  • I downloaded iOS7 a few weeks ago and now have the No Sim message. Can not access AT

So I downloaded iOS7 a few weeks ago on my iPad2 and now have the No Sim messege. I can not access my AT&T 3G account from the systems as it is greyed out.  What can I do to fix it ?

    Hey robbeef,
Even though these troubleshooting steps are centered around the iPhone, they address the "Invalid SIM" or "No SIM Card installed" or "No SIM" alert messages and should apply to your iPad. I'd run through them and see if that helps:
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Remove the SIM Card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you still are unable to resolve this issue, contact Apple support for further assistance.

  • HELP! SL stuck in final restart - can't access IMAC

just installed SL 'Family Pack' on my Macbook - all good.
Tried on the IMAC - unfortunately there were 'software updates' ready to go but the install had started. When it got to the first restart it was stuck in 'updates'. So I 'checked for more updates' and then restarted. Once restarted, the SL install icon showed the install had resumed after the restart.
Then at the CONGRATS prompt for the last restart, my IMAC never completed the restart and has been stuck there for over an hour. I rebooted - still stuck. Can't access the imac and dont know how to 'undo' or 'redo' whatever needs to be done. Managed to 'tickle' the disc out of the computer in case the reboot was stuck with the disc. Still no luck. GANT USE MY IMAC! HELP!

    Anyone?
I finally managed to download the newest combo update and installed it successfully!
However Safari still doesn't open. It keeps saying the following:
Check with the developer to make sure Safari works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X.
I also finally got access to App Store: but the download of Mountain Lion doesn't complete, because it seems to need Safari.
So I'm still stuck with the two issues:
    i) Safari doesn't work, and I can't get it to work unless I can reinstall/upgrade the OS.
ii) I can't upgrade the OS without Safari!
--- unless someone knows a way to install Lion/Mountain Lion _without_ Safari??
    Thanks for all your help!

  • I suddenly am unable to retrieve my emails.  I discussed this with my Internet provider, but still get an error message and can't access my emails.  Any suggestions???

I am unable to retrieve my emails since yesterday.  I called Time Warner Cable, my Internet provider, but they could not help me; they stated that the settings had changed, since they were upgrading.  I adjusted the settings, but still get an error message:
              Alert
There may be a problem with the mail server or network.  Verify the settings for account "Mail 1" or try again.
The server returned the error:  The connection to the server "smtp.roadrunner.com" on port 110 timed out.
I changed the server, and the port, as Time Warner Cable tech rep recommended, but to no avail.  They recommended I delete my current email account and recreate it, but that I check with Apple first, because I might lose my contact list (and any email messages I'd previously saved!?).  They suggested Apple might be able to tell me how to not lose the contacts, emails, profile.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, what Interface are you using, & which one are you checking?
Each Interface will have it's own settings.
Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
    10.4 instructions...
Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations.
    If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

  • Can't Access Bottom Information Bar

Hello all! Okay I've got a photoshop conundrum. Background: I was working on a monitor with my laptop connected to it (so dual screen), and working in photoshop on the larger monitor screen.  I now work solely on my laptop, and no longer have monitor access.  When I opened my photoshop file, it kept the larger dimensions from the larger monitor screen. I can no longer see the bottom information panel (zoom, etc), or resize the file. It's as iff they are simply too far down to access, and I can't get to them. I've tried re-downloading photoshop, and it didn't help.  Any solutions?! I'm in a major pickle. HELP!

I run my Macbook off an external monitor, and sometimes run into that problem. So that's what has worked for me. Mark the answer correct if you are accessing these forums via web browser. Others with the same question will see the green bubble and know there is a fix.
Glad to know it works, thanks for getting back to me.

Have you transferred photos from your computer to your iPhone which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, you can place this video in the folder of photos on your computer that is selected to be transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select Include Videos.

  • Stuck on Apps Store, can't access Music Store

Since logging into the Apps store, I've been unable to get into the music store. Home button just brings me back to Apps store home. Is the Music store not activated in my home country (Singapore) or something? Help!

I am in Singapore and I can no longer access the App Store from iTunes! Clicking the categories or using the search function returns the "We could not complete your iTunes Store Request. An unknown error occurred (504)." error.
Any thoughts as to why this would suddenly start? I was able to use it up until a few days ago--maybe until November 6th.
    Thanks,

  • How do I get my printer to print after I get an error message stating:403 Forbidden:Access is Denied.?

My printer is in perfect printing order however when I get this message, I can't access my printer. There is an additional message stating the following:"You do not have permission to view this directory or page using credentials you supplied." How do I obtain the permission I need to get access to my printer?

Buy the Snow Leopard retail installer (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA).
That will take you to 10.6.3.
If required you can then use the combo updater to get to the latest version, 10.6.8 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399)

I can't Start, Uninstall of Install new iTunes. I'm getting the same error message: "Window Installer Service could not be accessed". No other programs having similar problem. Any suggestions how to fix it?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
