Stuck in Safari

I'm stuck in Safari, apparently a form has "timed out". How can I get out? any ideas welcome.

Hold down Option Command Escape at the same time... from the drop down Menu choose Force Quit Safari.
Or,
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Force Quit.

My iPod is stuck on safari and won't turn off or return to home screen

I updated my iPod touch to iOS 6 and since then I've encounntered multiple problems. My iPod is stuck on safari and I can zoom in and zoom out but that's all I am able to do, I can't turn it off nor can I go back to the home screen. I tried letting it go on low battery but it's still on. The only button that works is the volume buttons. Help please?

If the reset is not successful, try the other items of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If pressing the home button does nothing, try powering the iPad off and on and/or do a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. A reset is similar to a computer restart.

You can also try this .. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache. The restart the iPad. Hold down on the sleep button and slide the red slider when it appears. Then start up by holding the sleep button until the apple logo appears, let go of the button.
Try Safari again.

Help! Old Version of Page STUCK in Safari Proxy Server

I have a website that I run. For some reason no matter what I do, there are old versions of my website stuck in the Safari Proxy Server. A year and a half ago my online cart was down, so I put up a message on the website. I STILL get calls almost every day from people who think my online cart is down. I am at my wit's end! How do I tell the proxy server that there is an updated version of my website!?! I have tried embedding code, doing major design changes, but nothing has helped. Anyone?!

For some reason no matter what I do, there are old versions of my website stuck in the Safari Proxy Server.
That's a rather vague statement. It would be more helpful if you actually said what you have done so far to correct this problem.
But to my way of thinking, you need to clear the cache of your proxy server, which should be easy to do and it should work.

Stuck on Safari

I'm in the final phases of testing a new site I created.
Here's the home page:

The navigation bar is the issue: Safari seems to display the
text at a smaller size, which throws off the alignment of the
submenus underneath, as well as leaving too much space after the
last main level link (if you view the page in IE6-7 or Firefox
you'll see what it's supposed to look like--the menu fills the
800px width of the page).
Is there a way to add a safari-only line to the stylesheet to
boost the text size? Or a more graceful resolution?

Hmmm...I made some changes to the stylesheet, specifying text
size as 0.8em and specifying a fixed width for each li--which
allows the font size to grow and wrap down below itself, rather
than wrapping the entire menu. I also am trying to get the submenus
to position themselves relatively beneath each parent main-level
link (see code below). Not there yet, but it might be a workable
solution eventually. Any suggestions are welcome.

What don't you like about it? You prefer the submenus to be
always visible? Be curious to see some examples. Seems to be this
could get pretty busy-looking and take up a huge amount of vertical

I cannot update Safari. I am running Lion and am stuck on Safari 4.0.4 Running Update Software is useless as it ignores my old Safari software. How do I update Safari manually?

I cannot update Safari! My iMac is running Lion. I try using Software Update but it tells me everything is okay. My current version of Safari is 4.0.4 Very out of date. My problem seems to be only with Safari. Can anyone tell me how to manually update Safari?

I'm still somewhat new to Apple so bear with me here.
As I use Safari I attempt to listen to a Radio Player online I'm greeted with this message:
Safari can't display content on this page.
Some content on this page requires an Internet plug-in that Safari doesn’t support. The application “Windows Media Player” may be able to display this content. Would you like to try?
I try that also but to no avail.

There is no windows media player support for the Intel Macs. MS has dropped support for Windows Media on the Mac platform.
Filp4Mac should have an Intel compatible plugin soon - I have no idea if it will solve this problem, though.

E-mail address stuck on Safari Screen

It's happened twice now. The first time was my own address stuck on the screen and it went away after a couple of days. Now another address is stuck on the screen, not my own or one I've used recently. Weird
It doesn't move from the spot it's in unless I minimize or open a different app.
I've tried clearing history, rebooting, slapping, yelling, etc...
Any input?

I have the same problem. It looks like you were able to get rid of the email address on your screen.
The only way I can get rid of it is to restart the computer.
Would you mind giving a little more clear description of how you got it to go away?

Stuck on Safari 7.1. Any way to downgrade?

So, for some reason, it looks like Safari on my laptop was upgraded to version 7.1. I did a little googling and found that 7.1 is a developer version. I am not, nor have ever been part of the developer program, and 7.1 breaks a feature of one of my more frequently used plugins (ClickToPlugin). Is there any way for me to downgrade to 7.0.5? I'm running OS X 10.9.4. I haven't been able to find any download links to 7.0.5. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At this point, you need to restore OS X using OS X Recovery
Takes about 35 to 45 minutes on a broadband connection.
Make sure to backup all important data first just in case.

Hey guys i could really use your help, my iPod touch 4g home button doesn' work at all! i don't know what happened to it, 1 min it worked just fine but then after i want to check it again it wont work and now i'm stuck on safari and have no way to go back

Yesterday I installed "Mavericks" on my two identical machines (office and home, iMac i5 27'' late 2009) and now the cursor freezes for a few seconds after quitting an application on one machine and the the track pad stucks with safari - unsatisfying!

Even the back and forward buttons do not work than. Allover the complete installation process went different on both machines. One started the installation twice immediately after completion. I dont know what's wrong, I never have had such a trouble with Mac OS. I can't help myselfe an I am highly disappointed about Apple!

After a few Google searches and a few downcasted days, I had to realize that I have to apologize to Apple, it was seemingly not alone their fault.
All trouble makers to Mavericks are accumulated in my environment:
External WD hard drives get in conflict with the nem Mavericks OS X, as well as drivers software from Logitech (LCC), which all is in use with my system.
Delete the WD software of external hard discs and uninstall (use uninstaller) the Logitech control center (LCC) and all is fine again.
Have fun with Mavericks, a just started to love it....

What to do if the screen is stuck on the draft screen? I was writing a mail, saved it as draft, then later, was able to send it. However, the screen did not revert to the inbox page. The draft page seems to be hung or stucked. Safari and all others are working ok though.

I sent the draft to myself several times. That did not seem to be working, but when I opened Mail this morning, it has been sent all of the times and the Mail screen is no longer frozen.

Apple TV: Safari-only mode (stuck)

I opened my mother's apple tv/internet screen in guest-user mode, expecting that all I needed to use youtube was safari. Unfortunately for me, not only does her safari-only mode NOT support videos, I cannot seem to get out of safar-only mode and back to her regular login screen. Even when I restart the whole system, it opens back up to safari-only mode. How can I reset it back to her correct login screen (before she comes home/finds out/kills me)? I can't seem to find an answer that works for me!

Oops. I'm not exactly Apple literate (and neither is my mother...that's why I'm trying to take care of this before she comes home). I don't know exactly what it is, but the internet that she has connected to her tv/apple tv.
Regardless of whether or not Apple TV has a safari browser, the (Apple) computer on her television is stuck on safari-only mode and will not switch back to her account/let me log out/do anything, really. Maybe you have a suggestion to where I should move this post, then?

Safari Gets Stuck Connecting

Here is my problem.
I connect to my home wi-fi (which has been working perfectly until today). I go to open Safari and it just says "connecting..." on a gray screen. Every other app just gives me a "no network connection" error. Any tips?
Things I have tried.
Resetting my iPod
Resetting my router
reconfiguring my router
reconfiguring my ipod
renewing the lease
restoring the network settings on the iPod
ipconfig /release and renew

Had similar issue with my iPhone 3G running OS 3.1.2. It started in Mail (configured with google's "exchange" service). Everything was working fine until two days ago. I was able to read new emails, but unable to move them to the trash. Then I clicked a hyperlink and got stuck in Safari's "Connecting..." gray page. The Wi-Fi was still working fine on all my other computers.
Tried without success:
- resetting the cache, cookies and history in Safari Settings
- restore iPhone (and reload backup)
Then I rebooted my router (DLink DI-524 rev A, configured with a simple WEP 64, open authentication, ssid broadcast ON). Then my iPhone seemed to have forgotten about my Wi-Fi password and was showing my network in a list without the lock icon even if it's WEP-protected and the router had enough time to be fully booted). Tried to click it a couple times, but it kept failing to connect. Then I exited Safari to go to Settings, and briefly saw a box asking to enter my Wi-Fi password when Safari disappeared, but it went away fast (I might have pressed the home button more than once). Then I went to Wi-Fi Settings and chose my network and entered the password. Everything seemed to point that it did forgot my network. Now everything is back to normal.
