Stuck in the Lion installation.

Hi guys! having a issue here.. I cant seem to get trough the Os X Lion Installer...
first is signed into mye wireless network and then i clicked trough the wizard where i am supposed to sign in my Apple ID... and it would not go an further.
Then i skiped the wireless wizard just pushed next.. now i am stuck at this window, where you can transfere files from your old mac etc.. anyone have the same problem?
This is a clean install of Lion.

Found a solution that worked for some, but not for me.

Der det henger med kommuniserer med Apple.
Ta cmd+q og velg hopp over.
Fullfør registreringen.
Deretter ble jeg sendt tilbake til start igjen.
Gjenta prosessen.
Jeg kunne da skrive et kontonavn. Passord osv.
Og etter det logge inn.
Og nå er jeg inne og alt virker!
Anyway, this solution did not work for me. I pressed cmd+q and chose "skip". Next picture should be "create account" but on my laptop it also skipped over this stage and I came to the page where I have to take picture. Trying to reinstall now.
Is this issue only experienced from Norwegian users? At least it seems so..

  • I need to re-install Lion, where do I re-download the Lion installer?

I had a HD issue (my MacBook Pro, Model A1211 would not boot) and I did not have a Lion Recovery Disk, so I had to erase the HD and load Snow Leopard. Now where do I find the Lion installer and download it?

  • Where can I download the Lion installer?

    Hi,
I purchased Lion when it was released and installed on one machine. I now have a new machine that I want to update to Lion but when I go to the App Store it just tells me that Lion is no longer available in the UK store.
Where and how can I find the Lion installer download?  I can't put Mountain Lion on becuase the machine is not 64bit.
    Cheers

    Those are facts.
Right but he can still download it from the Mac App Store.
    Which is what he asked.

Your post leads him to believe it is No Longer available to him in any way. Which is completely WRONG.
So as I stated before do some research before posting Misinformation.

  • Where can I download the lion installer, Where can I download the lion installer

I would like to upgrade my MacBook 2,1 to LIon...it is not qualified to run Mountain Lion. The Lion installer is no longer available at the App Store. Where can I purchase Lion?

You need to call Apple to get it - here is a screenshot of another discussion:

  • How do I install just the Lion installer via the lion recovery partition.

I am trying to bootcamp windows 7 on my new macbook pro (early 2011), the installation was successfull but i am missing drivers on the windows side and cannot access the internet until i install them.  I installed all the bootcamp updates and put them on a usb to transfer to windows partition but windows kept telling me i need an earlier version of bootcamp which is not available from the update support downloads section of the apple website.
After some research i realized i needed the mac boot disc for lion, which doesnt exist so i need to create my own.  I was told i could install lion from the lion recovery partition.
here is my question....If i install lion onto my mac partition that currently has lion, can i stop the download after the initial 4 gb installer and not go through with the full re-installation of lion?  so that i can then take the installesd.dmg (i think thats right) file and put it on a dvd to install from the windows partition and finally get the drivers i need to get it running.
Comment: based on what i have read on how you used to bootcamp a mac, apple has made it very difficult, unneccesarily difficult it seems.

Before you do anything else, I suggest a thorough read of this:

  • After downloading the Lion installer, it won't install on my 1 TB Snow Leopard boot disk.  Why?

The disk has been verified, has shown no other problems and is up to date.  Of the other volumes available in my system, only another (much smaller) with Snow Leopard shows as possible for the installation.  The message for the disk I want to use is "This disk cannot be used to boot your computer".  Computer is early 2009 MacPro with plenty of memory, disc to be used has 500 GB free.  I have previously done a successfuil download of the installer, then a successful installation on another small volume, which is now erased, so I don't think there is a download problem.  This installation was over Snow Leopard, which is what it now won't do on another volume.

    Take a look at:
OS X Lion: Installer reports "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer"

  • Is there a way to exit the Lion Installer back to 10.6.8?

Lion won't install (says the disc needs to be repaired).  Is there a way to exit the installer and return to Snow Leopard?

strangest thing... i found my original leopard disc and restarted my macbook while pressing the option key.
i options on the HD, Lion USB Key, or Leopard on disc appeared.
i cliclked on leopard  and the instal started to progress as normal. i read through all the on screen info.  i was a little concerned about loosing everything on my HD, so stopped before doing the install and decided to restart.
again i held down the option key and just for the **** of it clicked on the Lion USB key.
what do u know, it installed!!!!  the only issue was the time, the screen said 36 minutes, was over an hour.
but its all up and runniing and im happy again and no need to travel to the apple store!!!
    hope this is somewhat helpful

  • Is the Lion installer hardware specific?

Hello, I'm in the unfortunate position of having a mbp that requires Mac OS X 10.6.3 or higher but only have a 10.6 dvd and I had to replace my failing hard drive so am currently without any bootable media... (restore discs are at home and I'm at college) As such I was wondering if, if I downloaded Lion on a friend's mac would the image be bootable on my mbp (friend has a iMac) or would it only work with his iMac?

The downloaded installer is generic and not machine-specific.
Do a search here for installation tips for clean installs from people such as Kappy and a brody...they offer some great tips.

  • I cant restart the lion installation

if i bougth lion and restore all again, i formated my macbookpro, why i don´t download the lion again without pay

If you log into the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase Lion then you will not be charged if you download it again.

  • What causes the Lion Installation Invalid Node error?

I've had two failed installs of Lion on my intel based IMAC. I have 4 gigs of mem, 300 gigs of space and OS 10.6.8. installed. Both installation attempts led to disk damaged messages with invalid node part of the error. Each time I reformatted the drive, installed Snow Leopard, let time machine bring my files back and updated my old SL files to 10.6.8 At the end, I boot off the cd and verify my hd. The entire process takes about 12 hours.
So ... do we know what actually causes the error so my next Lion install isn't a WAAP? (Wing and a Prayer) Would love to know what to avoid or what to do to protect the installation.
    Thanks!

So .... After two failed installations with node erros, this time I elected to run the permissions verification and fix ... then I dl'd Lion anew (having moved the last copy to Trash.
And now, I write to you from Lion.
    Thx!

  • Has anyone encounter a Grey Screen with spinning wheel stuck (frozen waited more than 5h) in after running Lion Installer from SL?

    Hi
I've tried almost everything on my Macbook Pro 8,2 (i7 2.0Ghz).
    Wipe/Erase the SL partition.
Burned the ESD dmg to a DVD.
Reset SMC,PRAM and NVRAM many times.
    Run Repair Disk. Passed OK.
    Run Hardware Test. Passed OK.
Download the Lion Installer 4 times. MD5 Passed.
Everytime I've tried to install lion it give me this Grey screen... The mouse wheel start spinning and it then stops, and nothing happens from that point. (Also rebooted many, many times same result).
SL Install disk runs fine, even installing it from Zero. I've setted up time machine. (The restore to definetly works also the SL installation too)
I'm a little far away to send my Macbook to a customer service.
    What else should I try?
    :S

    Thank you very much William
I ran the installer and saw the same screen stuck... After I used Shift to boot in safe mode, I got the 3 beeps with grey screen apple logo. So then I rebooted into Single User do the 'nvram boot-args="-x -v"' and voila the installer continued with no issues I've turned back de 'nvram boot-args=""' and everything seems to be working fine.
Really weird beahviour of the installer with my Mac.
    Thanks.

  • Pressed 'Install Lion' on existing copy of lion and the new Lion Installation started. I have cancelled it. Now, will it reformat (and so remove) all the files or will it replace the lion files only, leaving my files alone if I continue?

    Hi
I wanted to reinstall the existing copy of lion on my Macbook Pro, leaving my files alone. So I started the Lion Installation and I thought that after the mac reboots, the window will pop-out asking what I want to do. It didn't however and it started new lion installation after which I immediately aborted it. My question is: Will my files stay untouched if I carry on installing?
Thanks for the answers in advance.

The Lion installer won't ask you if you want to repair. If you boot into the Recovery HD you can then select to reinstall Lion, which willl reinstall the Lion files but leave your Home folder alone. If you want a clean install, then from the Recovery you can open Disk Utility to wipe the Lion partition and then use the transfer function to retrieve your data from your Time Machine backup.

  • My White Macbook is stuck at the loading screen, and disk utility, safe mode doesn't work either. What should I do?

I went on vacation a few days ago and in El Salvador, they have this mobile broadband sticks. Well, I was using one until it gave me a network error. After that, it shut down my computer entirely. The first time it happened, I didn't think much of it. I took the battery out and put it back in for it could work. It happened another two times, and after the third time, my MacBook stays stuck at the loading screen, and it will take 5-10 minutes on that screen, before it shuts down, or it wouldn't turn on at all. I've tried booting into safe mode, but it appears to not boot into it. I've tried resetting the Pram, and using disk utility, but that still won't work. I don't know what else to do to make it boot into  OS X  Lion.
I'm an AP student, and the majority of my work is in that computer, and it is very important! What can I do? Not only that, but I enter school in a few weeks and I need the AP work by the time I enter.
What can I do? Can someone help?
    Thanks

    Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • OS X Lion installer not starting correctly

    Hi,
I have a Late 2007 MacBook (2GB RAM, 2.20 GHz Core 2), and the Lion installer isn't running right.  I have OS X 10.6.8 so that is fine, but the odd thing is that whenever I try to run the installer, the dock expands to make room for the new app, but then shrinks again, and I get no error telling me that the program closed accidentally.  What is going on?
    Any help would be appreciated!

Check to see if the startup disk needs repairing before installing Lion.
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click:  Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If DU reports errors, start up from your Mac install disc to make repairs.
Make sure your Mac can run Lion >  OS X Lion - Technical Specifications

  • What are "dyld" and "brtool" and why are they breaking my Lion installation?

I have an up-to-date Snow Leopard Server installation with software RAID, and cannot complete the upgrade to Lion Server. At the "restart" step, the installation throws an error and says to try again.

Any suggestions (besides "wipe the drives and don't use RAID")?

    Dear Friends
I'm getting this same error ("... dependent dylib #1 could not be loaded") on a 2x3GHz quad-core Mac Pro with 17GB of memory. I'm installing on top of 10.6.8 on a two-drive, two-slice Apple software RAID.
I'm downloading the Lion installer for the third time today and will try for the umpteenth time to install it. I've used another internal drive, a bootable DVD, and a USB flash drive, all to no avail.
If anyone knows a solution that doesn't involve erasing my drives, I'd appreciate your sharing it.
(Before I had a kid I would've installed Lion the day it was released. But now I'm short on time and waited more than six months after its release before trying to install it on our production Mac so I wouldn't encounter such problems. Hehe. I installed Lion on the day of its release on our MacBook Pro and didn't have any problems.)
