Stuck on Apple logo with broken home button

Hi, after switching on my iPhone 3G it is stuck on the apple logo. I understand I might need to restore it to factory settings, but my home button is broken. Is there any way I can fix my iPhone without restoring?, or if I do need to restore how to do that without using the home button??
Thanks!, David

The phone restarted fine after the battery died

My Imac won't boot up. It is stuck on apple logo with spinning gear. It will not boot in safe mode, my install disc will not read and fsck wont fix it.. I can hear the hard drive spinning. So i know my drive is not bad.. Right before this happened i was low on space so i deleted a bunch of movies but for some reason i had to change my drive permissions to do so..

Is your data backed up?  If not, see these means of data recovery: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1689 If it is backed up, then purchase Alsoft Disk Warrior.  Boot it using the Option key of a wired Apple keyboard.

  • Haw do i get out off iphone stuck on apple logo with a broken power button?

Help my iPhone is stuck in the apple logo and my power button is broken Help me please ???

Here are a few things you could try:
1)Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2)If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
3)If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode(Steps shown below), and then restore it.
How to Force into Recovery mode:
1)Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
2)Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
3When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
If that doesn't work you need to contact Apple Care at 1-800-692-7753
I hope this helps you resolve your issue!

  • IPod stuck on Apple logo with loading bar that doesn't move.

My iPod won't turn on so i tried to factory reset it, and it is stuck on the apple logo with a loading bar that's empty and wont move. iTunes also says "Waiting for iPod." Help please!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Macbook Pro (A1278) - Unable to startup - stucks at Apple logo with spinning wheel.

My friend gave me his macbook pro today having startup issue. It stucks on apple logo at startup with a spinning wheel.
I have tried to repair disk but does not work.
tried to reinstall OS but it says This Apple ID is not the one which you used to purchase this  OS version (something like that)
I upgraded from mac os x lion to mountain lion.
I do not have any installation media as well.

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 3
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is damaged and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to step 5.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 4
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 5
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 6
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 7
Repeat step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a backup.
    Step 8
A dead logic-board battery in a Mac Pro can cause a gray screen at boot. Typically the boot failure will be preceded by loss of the startup disk and system clock settings. See the user manual for replacement instructions.
    Step 9
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

  • Ipod Touch 3G stuck on apple logo with a loading bar

I tried to factory reset my Ipod and it's stuck on the apple logo with a loading bar.The bar loads, but once it loaded it loads again and again. Is it normal? If it's not please help me to turn it off.I tried the sleep+wake button but it still does the same thing.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • AppleTV is stuck on Apple Logo with words, sort of jibberish

Hi All - I have an ATV that has been stuck on apple logo for about a day, and now there are lines of words, including technical information, on top of the apple logo. warranty has expired, what should I do? I will try a factory restart.
    Nicole R

Even  equipment isn't beyond failure by two in one day is unlikely. There are 2 more things you could try with your first tv:
Try another video cable or even swap to component if using HDMI.
Try pulling ALL the cables and leaving it 30 seconds or so before powering up and trying again.
What exactly is your second tv now doing.

  • Water problem. Stuck at Apple logo with words.

Hi. I dropped my phone into water 5 days ago and it's been in a bag of rice ever since.
Now I'm attempting to turn it on, but it wouldn't. It's at the Apple logo, with small words like "unclean shutdown", "borrowed blocks", "adopted 367 spans" and others... So is it spoiled for good?
