Stuck on Green

Although my battery seems to charge correctly and sufficiently, and I get an accurate battery status in the menu bar, the LED in my power adaptor stays green (it's never orange anymore) whenever connected, even during charging. I'm not positive of this, but I think this may have begun to occur since I installed Tiger.
Is this an issue, and if so, what should I do about it?
Thanks!

Hi Ronda,
If David does not mind this sidetracking of his post I was wondering if you could fill me in... did all of the iBooks originally ship with a PS that had LED lights in them? As my book is 2nd hand... I really don't know. It came with a Yoyo adapter... I've used these with my Wallstreets but the plug on this YoYo is iBook style and is not the same as found with PowerBook G3 Series... do I have a Yoyo with a hacked connection or is this a PS that Apple is using to replace the old units with the LEDs. iBook 500 Dual USB... did it shipwith a PS with LEDs? Any harm in using the unit I have at present?

  • New HomeHub 4 stuck on Green Power Light????

Just got this and it booted up fine then after about an hour it became stuck on a green power light.
Its lost all broadband ,wi-fi and lan connections and I can't even do a reset....any ideas
I've seen others with this problem but never saw a solution

Tried that a few times and it did nothing, the light remained on the whole time.
I have just managed to restart the hub by holding in the WPS button for 20+ secs and then did a software reset once my PC could reconnect.
So far its kept going and hopefully stays that way....the 1st hour or so showed a decent performance advantage over my old Homehub 3

  • Messages stuck with green flag A. Status (XI 2.0)

    Hi All,
we are running an instance of XI 2.0 and for this interface in particular we are pulling a file off an FTP server via the file adapter and pushing it through to a remotely enabled function which creates a batch session on our SAP R/3 4.6C instance.  The interface used to work but we have now changed the name of the function within R/3 then made the corresponding changes in XI.  Since we've done this the messages appear to be getting caught up somewhere between XI and R/3.  The XI monitor (SXMB_MONI) shows in the A. Status field a green flag.  To me this would imply that it is processing on the remote end (R/3) however there has not been any batch session created.  This flag remains green indefinately.
I thought it could have something to do with XI caching some old objects so I ran tx SXI_CACHE and did a complete cache refresh (F6).  This did not change anything.  I have cleared all messages out of the queue using tx SM58.  Then after reading another post in this forum I ran tx smq1 and smq2 to clear messages out of there but there was nothing in those queues.
When I push another message through it will sit in SXMB_MONI with the A.Status field having a green flag.  Then I look in tx SM58 and find that the status text field displays "Transaction executing" for a very long time.  Eventually it changes to "timout during allocate of registered program / CP" but the message is not going through.  The only thing that has changed has been the name of the function in R/3.
    any thoughts?

    Hi Mark,
under the 'Target System' column in transaction SM58 it says "AI_RFCADAPTER_JCOSERVER".  When I test it out it seems to work fine ... no errors.
When I looked at the trace labeled "Adapter_rfc.log" within the adapter engine it lists the following error.
    >>RfcAdapter> Tue Oct 11 07:46:12 CDT 2005>>
    > cannot load function template for Z_XI_INTERFACE_TEST1
    > exception occurred, detail:
    > com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (104) RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: CPIC-CALL: 'C
    > MRCV'
I'm not sure why we get this error.  The function template Z_XI_INTERFACE_TEST1 does exist and we were using it before.  If I run the interface again this error will no longer appear.  It almost seems like it will display only once a day.
    any other thoughts?

  • Stuck pixels in the thousands

Sorry to harp on stuck pixels I know there are alot of posts on this subject. However in most cases people are talking about 1 or 2 pixels, in my unfortunate situation I have hundreds if not thousands. A 5cm x 2 cm portion of my 14 inch screen is covered in green "stuck pixels". One line is permantly stuck on green however the remaining stuck pixels appear to change colours (pink or green) depending on what is on the screen.
Strangely I used Pixel Check (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11661) and only the top green line showed up as being "stuck on green" the rest of the stuck pixels didn't show up. However after the test they reappear.
I have tried using "pixel fix" software flashing for hours on end trying to "unstick" the pixels and also I have given them a good rub but all has failed.
I bought the ibook over 18 months ago so it's no longer under warranty.
I am now contemplating getting the screen replaced, however I just wanted to know if anyone out there had any ideas on my situation. Is it really a bad case of the stuck pixel anomaly or something else?
    thanks

    Hello
I had 6 dead pixels on my macbook pro screen. I was quite annoyed about it.
After a huge research I did find solution. At least you can try it is for free
It is a small Jawa applet which flickers and can unstuck pixels.
I had 6 dead pixels. After using this flickering applet for 10 minutes 4 of the pixels disappeared They were in the center of the screen.
The last two are placed on the top of the screen. On the top dock where the blue apple is. Fortunately there is no way I know about how to hide this dock. Therefor stuck pixels remain. (if you know how to get this flickering applet over entire screen please let me know, the videos on the website did not work for me)
Anyway check this website and good luck, Hope it helps.

  • Horfrible GREEN STRIP down display. Help!!!

I turned on my I book g4 (owned for sixteen months) and found a bright green strip about one-eigth inch from top to bottom of the display. what gives? do I need a new screen now? No longer under warranty
shows up the worst against any colored or dark graphics background. it is a straight, glowing green line
    anyone have any advice
    many thanks

Sounds like you have a column of dead pixels.
You can test your LCD using Pixel Check: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11661.
If the line remains stuck on green then chances are the pixels are dead.
Some users report that gently massaging dead pixels can sometimes bring them back to life. I'd proceed very carefully, however, considering there's a whole line affected. You don't want to risk further damage.

  • Stuck Pixel on Touchsmart 520

    Hello all,
I have had a really annoying stuck (bright green) pixel for about 6 months now. Just before this one came around, I had another one which lasted for a couple of weeks and sorted itself, so I was hoping this would be the same, however it doesn't seem to want to budge.
I have tried multiple "stuck pixel" software which are meant to help aid in removing them, however they have had no success (I even left one software running overnight for about 8 hours).
I want to try the approach of massaging the screen, however because this is a touchscreen PC, I cannot actually touch the screen, as it feels like glass when I touch it. Is there a way of getting behind this glass screen so I can try to get this stuck pixel out?
I'm fed up of seeing it now, it's now to the point where I am contemplating getting a new PC because I am so frustrated with this.
    An help is much appreciated!
    Regards,
    Tom.

  • Power adapter light not working

The other day the LED light was stuck on green, even when laptop was not fully charged and even when I pulled it out of the computer!
Now, the light doesn't come on at all and it doesn't seem to be charging the computer. The battery indicator on the screen is showing that it is connected, but when I unplug the power adapter, the battery is not charged.
I've tried blowing out any dust/debris, and making sure all of the prongs are properly functioning. Any other advice?

Stop by an Apple Store, if you can, and test using a different AC adapter. If that works, your adapter is faulty. If it doesn't, your computer probably is.

  • How do you unlock a color?

Hi, In Ilustrator, I am trying to take a tomato and blob brush over it but it seems somewhere along the line I have accidently touched a button ( or something?) and now I can't do any project that involves changing color. I am stuck with black and can't get any other color. If I push the toggle between none and another color I can get that color, eg. green but then I am stuck on green. Can some one let this newbee in on what is going on please, I would hate to get frustrated at the beginning of learing Illustrator. Thank You.  Jerri255

Wait a second you cant change a color and you can't do anything to it withthe blob brush and I assume you cannot use the eraser tool as well.
Are these raster placed images by any chance?
You will not be able to edit them in Illustrator if this is the case. You will have to use an image editing program like Photoshop ot convert them to a vector by either using the Live Trace feature or by tracing it withe the en tool.
Now if this is not the correct scenario you will have to move and or trash your settings folder.

  • Bright Pixel on Light Colored Backgrounds

    Hi fellow Mac Friends,
I have a quick question for you all that has been bugging me for over a month. I recently bought a Mac Book Pro and it came with a beautiful LCD screen with no issues. A few weeks after I bought it, it developed the awful whine that everyone was talking about. I took it to the Apple Store and they fixed it within a couple of days.
    Great!
However when I got it back, a week later I noticed that now something was wrong with one of my pixels. The pixel is not stuck (Red/Green/Blue) nor is it dead (black or off) as far as I know. The pixel is bright but not all of the time. It is only abnormally bright on light colored surfaces and its brightest against white. Now as you know, most web pages have nice white backgrounds so this is painfully annoying. Emotionaly its hard to swallow after I just dropped so much money but the the impefection is painfully clear.
Despite my feelings on the subject, I was hoping someone else might provide some information on this. Is this a "dead" pixel? Or a "stuck" pixel? Or is this something fixable. I have tried all of the stuck pixel programs out there but I don't believe this is a dead or stuck pixel.
I have heard the term "hot" pixel but then I would assume that this pixel would burn white in all situations including dark backgrounds.
If there is any information out there that someone might know on this subject, I would greatly appreciate it!
    Yours Truly,
    Rilely

Right, that particular pixel would not be able to render all the colors. With dark backgrounds, the pixels are shuttered and not passing light. So even the sub-pixel where the color filter material has chipped off will not be illuminated and showing brightly. It will only be for certain colors and white where the brighter-than-bright pixel will show. You should be able to use a test program and determine which sub-pixel, R, G or B, has the missing color. Just put up successively an all red, all green and all blue screen. One of those screens should have a white pixel. If, for instance, the red screen has the white pixel, then it is the red sub-pixel that is missing it's color filter layer for that particular pixel. Here is a link to my favorite freeware program that can provide the required test patterns:

  • Will apple replace my phone with a new one?

I have always noticed since the day I got my 3g- sometime the seccond week it came out-that it had the problem of "light leak.". I just did not know it was a problem until today when I was searching for articles about my iPhone 3g dead pixel which I noticed yesterday. I think it's a dead pixel-black/grayish and looks like dust or eraser shaving under screen. I also have a couple of stuck pixels-green dots. Anyway, the pixel problems are very anoying to me. If I make an appointment with the apple retail store genius bar close to where I live, will apple fix my phone, give me a refurbished phone, or give me a brand new phone? I know the 3g s is comming out in a few days, but I am not looking for my current 3g to be replaced with a 3g s, just a new normal 3g. Any ideas on what would happen?

Every warranty claim is on a case by case basis. If someone here tells you that their iPhone was exchanged under warranty with the same problem as you described doesn't mean that Apple will do the same in your case. All you can do is make an appointment and see what they say after your iPhone is inspected and tested. If your iPhone is exchanged under warranty, you would not receive an iPhone 3GS as the exchange if requested.
Per the written warranty, an exchange under warranty will be a new or refurbished iPhone without you being able to tell the difference.

  • My Neo 875P NB fan.. stops flashing :X

I have a 875P Neo-LSR with that wonderful disco NB fan.  It's been working fine for a month or more now, until the other day I noticed it was, well, "stuck" on blue.  I power cycled a few times, but the blue led would stay solidly lit (obviously, not when the power was off, though).
I pulled the plug from the power supply and let it sit for a minute or two, and it started flashing like normal again when I powered back up.  However, I just looked at the fan a few minutes ago, and now it's stuck on green.  Again, solid without flashing.
I'm not quite sure if I'm lucky or not, considering how many people hate the flashing..    I should mention, though, that the fan itself continues to work fine, even when the leds get "stuck".
If anyone has had this happen to them, though, I'd be interested in hearing it.
    PH

Most of the time it work and sometime it doesn't or gets stuck. I don't know how it generates the flashes but it appears to work off of some contacts within the fan.
I am sure for those who have a windowed case, it cool for a few days, then annoying after that.

  • N86 8MP delete things at its own

Hello, I just bought thise phone and, before to load all my data, I did a software upgrade directly to the latest version (21.006).
So now I found several problems:
I continue to create email accounts (already done 3 times) and one day not so far all my accounts are disappeared
I set the access points in the connections, like my home wi-fi and so on, and this is disappeared too
Messenger was working and now there is just the icon, the software is missing
NOTE: all of this was done AFTER the firmware upgrade, so with the phone clean.
Now I really don't know if it was better with the previous firmware, because I didn't use the phone at all before the upgrade, but I would to know if it should be possible to downgrade it, in this condition this phone is a completely mess!!

    Update:
Now the phone stucks, the green button activate the last calls dealed, pressing it again nothin happen, I have to switch the phone off and back on to be able to call anyone
Is there anyone on this forum?
    Tks

  • 6163 Pro dead??

    Hey all,
I've been running my 6163 Pro v2.0 board (bios v3.a) for a few years with no problems at all. Last night my monitor suddenly went blank. I tried to restart but got nothing.
I opened up the case and tried to restart again. I saw that the diagnostic led's were stuck at 2) green 3) red 4) green 5) red. According to the manual, it has something to do with the VGA bios or the card not installed correctly.
I'm running a ATI AIW 32MB AGP card. I tried to reseat the card but the same thing happened upon restarting, lights stuck at green - red - green - red.
I've tried a PCI video card, same results. I've tried clearing the CMOS (several times), replacing the battery, pulled every card out of the board except the video card, one stick of memory, two sticks of memory, changed the power supply, and even tried different processors and still no luck.
Is my BIOS to blame or is the board just dead?? I can't try to recover or reflash as the system won't even POST.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    System:
    Intel celeron 1.8 Ghz
    Matrox G400 dualhead 32MB
    Windows 2000
Mainbord: MSI 645 something (6 months old)
    Problem:
I was playing space cadet in windows 2000 when the system suddenly hung up. The picture went into bizzare patterns and i restarted. It froze again and I restarted. Now there is a serie of 9 beeps when poweering on the computer and the beep starts when 2 and 4 are red on the bracket. It stops beeping and 1 2 3 are red while 4 is green. The monitor is blank. Something with the videocard? NO. Tried another videocard, Hercules Prophet 64 MB Geforce 2 and that didn´t work either. Tried to unplug every card except for the videocard and it didn´t work. The funny thing is that it DID started ONCE during boot up but it zone froze again when listening to music.
What is teh matter with my computer?

  • Beating a DEAD PB, can we get creative?

I am desperately trying to avoid a visit to the Genius Bar with my 15" (which I have nicely passed on to my husband after I purchased my new 17").
    Anyway, the scenerio is this:
My daughter and her friends were using it to watch a dvd in the evening. The next time I saw it, she brought it downstairs and said it was making a funny noise and the light was blinking weird.
I noticed the strange noise, but also noticed the backlight of the keyboard was flickering with the open key in the front. I also noticed the "caps lock" key was stuck on green.
I couldn't shut it down or eject the disk. Trust me I have tried most things here and in the course of the day I got rid of the sound (hopefully not killing the hd in total), but although the battery is fine and fully charged and the adapter glows while inserted. I now get no response including any noise.
Is there a way to boot this remotely through firewire, or to see if it can start? I really want to run a hardware test, but I do have a dvd still stuck in there. I know this is grasping for straws, but that is what I want to do. How can I test this before I take it in? SInce I doubt I would pay to have it fixed should I take it apart? The ram is/was fine.
Remember there are NO bad ideas...
Thanks! Hohoho... he as a brand new iPod from santa that need this 15" for iTunes.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.7)

    Hi, Elizabeth -
I'm not really clear about whether this machine is on or off, but you should be able to shut it down by pressing the power button for 5-10 seconds. Also, Command-Option-Shift-Power will force the machine to shut down.
You can try booting the machine into target disk mode by connecting it to your 17" PB via FW cable. With the 17" on, try to start the 15" holding down the T key after you press the power button. See:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
If the 15's HD shows up on the 17's Desktop, double-click on the 15's HD icon and see if you can eject the DVD from a Finder window on the 17's Desktop.
Also, you don't say which light was "blinking weird," but you might consider reseating the 15's RAM, and, if there are two modules, possibly removing the one in the lower slot completely to see if that helps.

  • Display scuffed by keyboard

    Hi,
I've literally just had my Macbook Air for a week and I already have a screen scuff! I'm not sure if I just got really unlucky or if this is normal for the new Macbook Airs. It seems that the metal "dip" between the spacebar and the trackpad is scuffing up my screen. The damage isn't terribly noticeable but its definitely there. Has anyone else had this problem? Were you able to polish out the damage? I tried my Radtech cloth from my Macbook Pro to no avail. Do you think Apple would be willing to replace my LCD?

I think I'd find that unacceptable. When I got my iphone, it had a profusion of pixels stuck on green. My local genius was unobliging when I asked her to look at it in a darker part of the store, and could only spot 2 big clusters that she said were within spec.
But when I called the apple support number, they were far more responsive, they said they would exchange it immediately for one with zero dead pixels, and within a couple of days I had my new flawless iphone (it even came in a slimmer main unit-only version of the regular iphone box). They had definitely salvaged their relationship with me, I had been hopping mad about the snarky genius and the glaring quality issue.
So my point is, give them a call, maybe they'll treat you as well as they treated me... seems bothersome to say the least to be running around with a foam insert.
