Stuck on Logo screen plus loading symbol

Occasionally whenever restarting the computer get to the part of the boot where it shows the HP logo and the circle spinning to show that it is loading. The problem is that it just gets stuck there and keeps spinning forever. It happens randomly and we have had it fixed twice now, but the problem always returns. I have not noticed any sounds associated with the problem. But whenever it happens we have not found a fix. Thanks.

I did drop it from about 4 and a half foot during the reset so I don't know if that has broken it.

See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allo iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore it.
    Next try DFU mode.

Unfortunately this means that there is a problem in the boot sector of your hard drive. It might be indicative of a fundamental corruption in the coding that allows your computer to boot your operating system from your hard drive. I had this problem twice and it resulted in me having to get a new hard drive and restore my data.
In other words, your computer can't talk to your operating system so you can't access your data.
Here is my advice: DON'T CALL APPLE TECH SUPPORT though they are kind and usually helpful it will take you an hour just to explain the situation and they will only tell you to do what I'm gonna say here.
First: Shut down your computer completely
Two: boot up while holding down the following keys: command, option, p, and r. The computer will reboot 3 times. This solution will likely fail so if you're frustrated skip to the next step.
Three: Boot up while holding down the option key. Select recovery drive. Select your default language. Select disk utility, click on Macintosh HD, and select "verify and repair volume." Likely the verification will produce some line like "unused node not erased." Or something like that. If anything using the words "node structure" comes up, you need a new hard drive.
If after verification and repairs you still can't boot I sincerely hope you have apple care because you will need a new hard drive. Set up an appointment to come in to the apple store, they will tell you to go and get data recovery, just ask them to give you the old hard drive. Unless you have an up to date backup in which case you can just restore from that. If you're lucky the only issue is with the boot sector which means that if you ask them to give you the old hard drive, you can buy an enclosure and you have effectively been given a free external hard drive. It still works to store data just not to load an operating system.
If you have a back up drive bring it to the apple store and they'll do the whole thing right there, it should take around an hour and a half but may take longer.
Hope this helps, it's annoying but it's your safest bet.
    All the best.

Shut down, restart holding the Shift key until you see the Apple, spinning gear, and a progress bar below that. This may take a few minutes.

If you're able to get started up this way try restarting normally. If that works, you should be fine. If restarting normally doesn't work please reply as this is probably caused by a third party kernel extension, startup item, or login item.

  • Powermac g5 won't boot mac os 10.5 stuck at logo screen

Anyone experience this problem? How do I fix it?
PowerMac G5 wont startup. gets stuck on grey screen with apple logo with no turning gears, then fans start blowing really loud.
    Using latest Mac OS 10.5
It will not start up from an install disc, but will run the hardware tests.
All tests pass in G5 hardware test disc.
Hard drives have passed all tests, been rebuilt and repaired permissions.
I have tried starting up in safe mode, holding down the option key to select a drive and holding down the c key to startup with an install disc.
The battery was dead so I replaced it but it still wont boot.
I tried zapping the PRAm still not booting up.
I have attempted to use terminal but get the following message then there is no response.

  • Lenovo g510 stuck in logo screen

this laptop was purchase one year ago,
It stuck in the repair loop twice but it was fine after refreshing the pc.
few days ago, when i started the pc
, it just stuck in the logo screen and not even loading into windows.
what is the possible problem and any solution?
    thanks

If you can not get the system to boot, either using power button or OKR button (smaller, with upside down V) successfully, this may be a hard disk drive issue that has compromised the boot records.  The key here is that the system repair kicked in twice.
If you have a second computer with a USB hard disk drive dock (for normal and notebook drives) you may be able to remove the disk drive from your notebook and retrive your user data from it via the USB dock.
    Good luck.

  • Iphone 6 stuck on Logo screen with flash of screen for a split second then back to logo screen :(

I purchase my Iphone 6 Roughly a month ago. Last night it died so I plugged it in and this morning it is stuck on the Apple logo screen and flashes to a red screen for a split second then back to the Applelogo screen. I have not done any updates since purchase. I have tried the power and home buttons together and simotaneously with no result PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi ptina78,
As someone who uses and depends on my iPhone on a daily basis, I know I would be upset if my phone did not start up properly. Let's see if we can get you back up and running. If your iPhone is not completing its startup sequence and you continute to see the Apple logo on the display, you may need to reinstall the iOS operating system on the iPhone. This article tells how -
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
    Specifically -
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Sincerely,
    Brett L

  • 4Gen touch stuck on logo screen, reset doesnt seem to help.

    Hey guys
i just found my ipod stuck on the logo screen when i tried to start it. I have tried to reset the ipod with the sleep/home button combination but the screen just flickers and then it gets stuck on the logo again. The ipod does come up in my computer but it doesnt seem to show up in itunes. Is there any way to reset this other then the initial home/sleep combination?
    Thanx heaps for the help.

try connecting the device in _*recovery mode*_.

  • P6NGM-FD stuck at logo screen

I've just built a system with a MSI P6NGM-FD mainboard and an Intel 3ghz E8400 Core 2 Duo CPU.
I just can't get it to boot.
The lights on my keyboard blinks for a second and I'm left at the logo screen, asking me to press Tab to POST or Del to enter BIOS.
Well, the problem is my keyboard doesn't work after that.
I've switched the damn PC on and off like a thousand times and it still gives me the same results.
I've checked and re-checked every connection.
Don't tell me to clear the CMOS cos I've tried that too.
At first I thought it might be my PS2 keyboard but after I changed it to a USB one it's still the same.
    I'm running out of patience.
I hope somebody can tell me where the problem lies, and how to resolve this.
And I really hope I didn't waste my hard-earned money on an expensive and heavy paperweight.
Here's the specs of my system.
    MSI P6NGM-FD mainboard
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3Ghz CPU
    Seagate 500GB SATA2 HDD
    Kingston DDR2 800 2GB x 2
PS2 and USB keyboards tried (both generic brands)
    Genius USB mouse
    Using onboard graphics
    Asus Z45P 450W PSU
     :(

I have run into this several times. Your power supply A-45GA does not meet specs for this motherboard.
The +12V1 and +12V2 require a min of 18A. So go with something that supplies at least 20A.
Model Name  Input Range  Output Voltage  Total Output
    Input Voltage
    Range  Input Frequency Range   +3.3V  +5V  +12V1  +12V2   -12V  +5Vsb
    A-45GA  100~240Vac  47~63Hz  Max. Load  30A  28A  14A  15A   0.5A  2A  450W
    Max. Output  145W  168W  180W  6W  10W
    440W
I ordered this one and the problem went away.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817170019
    550W +12V@25A
This issue seems to be common with the Core 2 Quad motherboards from MSI.
I ran into another system with this board in which the power supply was +12V@18A and the on-board USB would power down on boot-up causing Vista to blue screen. I went nuts finding it the first time.

  • Windows XP stuck at logo screen

I continue to have "problems" with Windows XP Startup on my iMac running Boot Camp.
I restored my XP back to the point when it last booted without any problem. It then booted without any problem. Then when I restart or shut down and boot again, I am stuck at the XP logo screen again, and I have to power off and start again, choosing to use the last good configuration. I have turned on the switch to generate the boot log file, but it does not appear to have logged anything for the sessions when it did not boot up, but only logged information for the sessions when I chose the last good configuration.
So I am at a loss as to the cause of the problem. I suspect it is some interaction between XP, Boot Camp and the iMac, but I just cannot pinpoint where the cause is and fix it. Somehow some of the values for the XP Control Sets are not quite right or settings are not saved properly when Windows XP is shut down.
Would appreciate any help or suggestions from anyone who has similar problems

Has been resolved. See another post on the same topic by myself, acywong.
