Stuck on recovery mode, error 3194,

My 4g Ipod touch just went into recovery mode on its own while i was on itunes, and when i was restoring it there was an error that said "error 3194" I put it on DFU mode also and nothing happened so now my itunes can't recognize my Ipod and I'm just wondering is if there's a way to fix at home or will i have to go to a(n) Apple Store to get this problem fixed? and just how much it will cost?

Error 3000-3999: (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3164, 3194, and so on) Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network.

  • IPhone 5 stuck in recovery mode - Error 3194 on iTunes?

    Hello,
I've had my iPhone 5 for nearly 2 years now (it's due an upgrade thankfully!), I have no problems usually updating my phone to the latest software, however last night when my phone let me know I could download iOS 8, I did so. The screen then froze on what seems to be the recovery mode, it just shows an image telling me to connect to iTunes. I made sure I had the up to date version of iTunes and upon connecting to the computer, it comes up saying iPhone cannot be reocgnised and that in order to proceed with the update I have to restore the phone to factory settings. Me and my boyfriend tried various apps such as Reiboot and TinyUmbrella to get it out of recovery mode first, but had no luck. Therefore I came to the conclusion to click 'Restore to factory settings' and twice it gave me the message 'Error 319'4 - restoration unsuccessful etc etc.. what does this mean? I tried putting it into DFU mode but the pc would still not recognise it. I do not understand what's happened!! I was going to go down to my local EE store to find out but am now thinking they won't be able to do much, and my local Apple store is about 15 miles away - so any help on here would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi AmberX92,
If you receive an error 3194 when attempting to restore your iPhone, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
Error 3194, Error 17, or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

  • Phone stuck in recovery mode error code 40 and would not restore

My Iphone 3GS stuck in recovery mode error code 40 and would not restore.I was with AT & T.Please help!

    Hi there...
Actually I was stuck with this situation yesterday. Here is what I did to overcome this issue: I hope it helps.
To start with, here are few things to you should make sure of:
1- You have the latest version of iTunes. You may try to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.
    2-Restart your Windows.
    If still no luck, try editing the Hosts file, here is how;
1- click on RUN then copy and paste the following:
    notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    2- look for gs.apple.com
3- if there are numbers infront of it just delete them or just type # before the numbers.
4- Save the file and try restoring again.
Note: you should have administror access to edit the Hostes file.
put your iphone in DFU mode before restoring.
I hope this helps. It did for me

  • IPod Touch stuck in recovery mode, error message 1611 when trying to restore.

I bought a 2nd generation ipod touch from someone on CL and it appeared to me that it just needed to be plugged into the computer and be synced with itunes. But its stuck in recovery mode. When I plug it into my computer, itunes says it sees the ipod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. Sout t I click on restore and it tries to restore it, but then it stops in the process and gives me error message 1611. I looked up this error message and it has to do with system security. I messed with my security settings and I still get this message. I tried using my home computer instead of my laptop and it still gave me the same message. Ive also tried holding down the power and home button for several seconds and it still goes back to recovery and gives me the same error message when I try to restore it. Also, itunes recognizes my ipod, but my computer does not.. Can anyone help me? Do I just have to bring the ipod into an apple store and have them figure it out? Thanks in advance!

  • Iphone 3g stuck in recovery mode(error 14) after failed 3.2.1 update

My Iphone is stuck in recovery mode after it failed to update to operating system 3.2.1 . When I press restore in itunes, the process stops at around the 20% mark and come up with error 14. I have already manually deleted and redownloaded the update 4 times, reinstalled itunes twice and created a new user on my pc and downloaded and update through this new user and disabled all security but I still keep getting the same error message. My pc is only six months old. I successfully updated the phone to operating system 3.1 a few months ago with no problems. Has anyone found a way to fix this?? This is ridiculous!!

This is the only way to make sure you've uninstalled itunes completely:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. After the computer restarts, open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer or whichever hard disk your programs are installed on.
    3. Open the Program Files folder.
    4. Right-click the iTunes folder, choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if iTunes was successfully removed.
    5. Right-click the iPod folder, choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    6. Right-click the QuickTime folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    7. Right-click the Bonjour folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    8. Open the Common Files folder.
    9. Right-click the Apple folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    10. Open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer or whichever hard disk your operating system is installed on.
    11. Open the Windows folder.
    12. Open the System32 folder.
    13. Right-click the QuickTime file (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    14. Right-click the QuickTimeVR file (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    15. Right-click the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.

  • HT201210 iPhone stuck in recovery mode error 11

Was having major battery issues over the last couple of days:
From fully charged to 13% in less than 4 hours,
Phone extremely hot to the touch after use
Showing "no storage left" on device, yet I had 6GB.
Ran behavior scan, nothing out of the ordinary except for the
photos... 300 in camera roll, 1000 in photostream, but it was
showing I had a total of 1300 in camera roll and that's why
    I've been having storage issues...
Anyway, the main issue now is that I'm stuck in recovery mode.
Tried to restore numerous times and have been getting error 11.
My iTunes wasn't up to date, so I will be doing that now and
    giving it another shot.
    Any ideas?

However on "Restoring IPOD firmware" it suddenly stops, generating "Error 6".

  • IPad 1, stuck in recovery mode, error 1601, wont turn on or restore/update

    Its a brand new iPad,
its stuck in recovery mode, it says restore and update but it wont restore/ update because i get error 1601, How do i fix this problem ??? it wont even turn on please help?

If it were in recovery mode, you would see this
If its just a blank black screen, follow these steps
Will not turn on, or will not turn on unless connected to power
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions.   If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage.   If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check    if the Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) in the headset jack or dock connector is activated or there are signs of corrosion or debris. Learn more about LCIs.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See   "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
If something other than the Home screen or Low Battery screen appears on the display, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, try resetting it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter. To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or the battery symbol appears.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Restore the iPhone. Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • Apple iPhone 4 stuck in Recovery Mode (Error 1611). Any Suggestions

My iPhone 4 (16 GB) is in recovery mode (or DFU mode), but it seems to be stuck in it. For the last two days it has been telling me to connect to iTunes and when I do it tells me, "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone it can be used with iTunes". So I press restore and it asks me if I wish to Restore and Update; I agreed. I attempted the restore, but something went wrong. It goes through the "extracting software" stage fine, but when it says "Preparing iPhone for restore", the screen flashes white for a half a second or so and then it tries to start over. iTunes then leaves me with this message, "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1611)."
I have tried to get it out of Recovery Mode several times through YouTube tutorials and other websites, but when I attempt to do this, it will just go back to the "Connect to iTunes" screen. It will not respond to anything unless it is plugged into my laptop (I'm almost certain of this, I cannot be completley sure because the screen is just black if not connected). I have tried several different USB cords, re-installed iTunes and Apple programs on my computer and even made a new user account on my laptop. (I'm using Windows 7). This phone has never been Jailbroken and nothing wrong with it as far as I'm concerned, except the occasional time the home button would not respond.
Before this happened, everything was working fine. Earlier in the week I got the Zagg InvisibleShield applied to my iPhone and everything was working great. On the night before this happened, my battery was extremely low and I used the Apple wall charger to charge it for the night (the USB cord was torn though).
    Any Suggestions Would Be Appreciated!

    Here are Apple steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1611
Make sure you have a perfect USB cable. Maybe try to charge the battery before proceeding again.
If you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage, take iPhone to Apple for resolution.
Error 1611 has been associated with the iPhones inability to hold the Restore Mode (mode where iTunes writes to iPhone) this can be due to anything. Restore Mode does need a good functioning battery to proceed. You describe some vague battery issues.
If you do not take the iPhone to Apple for help, the next step would be battery replacement.

  • CANNOT restore, CANNOT get out of recovery mode (ERROR 3194)

I was trying to update my 3GS to the latest IOS version and it went into recovery mode. I try and restore it and error pop up appears saying that I cannot restore due to ERROR 3194.
I've tried the SYSTEM32 trick, I've installed the new iTunes, I DIDNT JAILBREAK, I've tried taking my anti-virus offline while I restore. NOTHING works. I consider myself pretty smart with computers, but I'm getting desperate now as you can see.
If this happend to you, last resort what would you do if you could never get it out? Get a new phone? Is there a way I could get one for this? I just want to listen to music and text again.
    Thank you for your time

Make certain that iTunes is really the current iTunes. If that is correct, I would restore my iPhone on a different computer which has the current iTunes installed.

  • Iphone stuck in recovery mode error 1015

I am trying to restore it and update it to the newest firmware but it gets stuck on the recovery mode screen and will not get out of it. When i try it says 1015.

Are you using the wrong firmware file, or is the firmware files on your computer damaged?

When i have tried to restore it, he won't enter to DFU . While restoring, it stucks on restauring internal.... then i get the error 2.

Error code 2 is Apple Application Support failing to install.
Dowload iTunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe installer file.
Then download http://www.rarlab.com/ open iTunesSetup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunesSetup and you will get a folder called "iTunesSetup"
Go to the folder and click the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
After that try and see if iTunes will restore you're device

  • IPhone 5 stuck in recovery mode (Error 2006 (Mac) 2009 (Windows)

Hi everyone, my iPhone 5 has just randomly stopped working. It's out of warranty so Apple won't help at all. The screen just wouldn't turn on at all so I opened it up and checked out all the connections and somehow I got the screen on, when plugged in it shows an iTunes logo so I plugged it into my computer and it said it was in recovery mode. I try to restore and I get Error 2006 on my Mac and Error 2009 on my windows computer. I have tried all different ports and all different lightning connectors to no avail. I have also replaced the battery which didn't help.
I'm thinking it is the charging port but I'm not sure. Does it seem like I should replace that?
