Stuck on 'Syncing "Apple TV"'

This is something I haven't seen on the forums before. My AppleTV is set to sync with my MacBook Pro. Since the update to 2.3, my remote has been very sluggish, as others have reported. Most recently, however, it appears unable to sync. The ATV and MBP are connected and can see each other, but things just stop with the message 'Syncing "Apple TV"' in iTunes for hours. That used to happen for a minute before it began reporting what items it was syncing, but now it never get beyonds it.
I can still watch/listen to ATV content, and iTunes works, but nothing will sync in either direction.
I've tried changing to custom sync rather than automatic, etc. but no go. The ATV can see other shared libraries with no problem.
Anyone have any ideas? I've rebooted the MBP, ATV (and also reset settings on same), and the Airport Extreme that connects the three (it is running 802.11n with b/g compatibility).

OK, I'm with you now.
    1.    First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
    2.    If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
    3.    If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

  • Non operational USB ports and stuck on grey apple start up screen

    Two problems
    1. USB ports are non operational. I believe I fried them by accident. When hooking up an external USB hub, I may have connected an incorrect power supply. Now the USB ports on the front and back of my tower are non operational/do not work. As a work around, I bought a USB pci card and installed it. This has been working for my keyboard, mouse and external hard drives but my iPhone will not sync. My ilok is recognized in system profiler but I cannot download anything to it.
Anyone know how to fix this? Is it possible I fried my main USB port?
    2. I was reading different threads and a possible solution to the USB port problem was to reset my PMU. I have no clue why or if this would fix it but I gave it a try. Disconnected power supply and everything else after shutting down the computer. Found the pmu button on logic (or is it the motherboard or is it the same thing?). Pressed it, waited 20 seconds, put computer back together, connected power supply mouse and keyboard and tried to power up. The computer would not power up and the front power light was on but would not power up/boot. In a dumb panic, I opened up the tower and pressed the pmu button again without disconnecting the power. This seemed to work bcause my computer powered up! A red light on the logic board turned on and I got to the grey apple screen. This is where it froze. Hard reset, powered up, same problem. Unplugged power supply and tried again. Same problem. Tried pmu reset (unpluged power this time) and a repeat of the first pmu attempt. I tried starting up with cmd opt o p (I forget the exact letters but it was a reset with starting chimes), then I tried reinstalling with boot DVDs. It would get through the first DVD then restart and get stuck. Finally, I got it to accept second Boot DVD and finish installing and tried starting in safe mode. Got to safe mode and went to disk utility and checked first aid. No reported repairs necessary. Copied all files needed from HD and shut down. The computer did not shut down properly (this has been an ongoing problem before all these current problems and it has had problems booting fulling with hard resets needed once and a while). From here I tried restarting, pulling power supply, staring again and it keeps gettin stuck on grey apple loafing screen. The spinning wheel spins and then gets stuck, fans increase in speed and nothing. I can get back to safe mode either.
I'm very wordy I guess but more info the better, right?
The tower is very very very dusty. I will compress air it to clean it and attempt to clean connectors with alcohol. I will let it sit over night disconnected an then try powering it up.
What could the possible problems be? What can i do? Any suggestions on proper cleaning. I know how to ground properly and not to use a vacuum. I might have pressed the pmu button more than once. I'd the battery dead? Could it be a power supply problem. ****, I'm out of ideas and I really tried solving without posting but I'm poor and need my computer! Help!

Welcome to the forums. Lots of good information and help to be had here.
OK, first, let us know more specifically which of five flavors of Power Mac G5 you have. Find the serial number on the build plate on the inner bottom panel just below the CPUs and use this site to get the exact configuration:
    http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html
In the meantime, assuming that you haven't replaced the PRAM battery in quite a while or ever, that would be a good thing to do.
Getting dust out of the system is a must. The power supply is especially prone to dust buildup. You might want to deal with that by taking the machine outside, as it can get pretty thick coming out.

  • I have an Iphone which is stuck on the apple sign. Is there a way to fix this? Or will I need to go to the shop?

I have an Iphone which is stuck with the apple icon on the screen. Can this be fixed or do I need to go to the store to get it fixed?
    Thanks

When the iPhone only shows the Apple logo and then turns off, it usually indicates an issue with the software that is preventing the phone from completing it's boot sequence. This can be remedied by putting the phone into DFU mode and restoring it. By restoring the phone, the software and firmware will be removed and replaced with a fresh set and the content will be removed from the phone and need to be resynced.
To put the phone into DFU mode:
    1. Make sure the phone is connected to the computer
    2. Hold down the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time for 8 seconds
    3. Let go of the sleep/wake button and keep holding down the home button
    4. If you are successful, a dialog box will pop up in iTunes stating that iTunes has detected an iPod/iPhone in recovery mode and the phone's display will remain black.
    5. Click OK, then click the restore button in iTunes.
Hopefully after that, the iPhone will be up and running so you can sync your content back.
    I hope this helps!

  • Stuck with the Apple and nothing else

It seems many are having problems with the recent software update. Me too - can anyone help?
Following the update I am now stuck with the Apple sign. When I do a restore (Menu/Play) the apple sign dissaperars, then comes back and I am back where I started.
My computer no longer recognises my iPod either!
    Any ideas?

The most likely solution, Angel, is to restore your iPod then re-sync with iTunes to load your songs on. See this:

  • Stuck with the apple logo screen

So my iPhone is stuck with the apple logo. I've restarted my iPhone several times and reinstalled itunes. It just stays with the apple logo and when I plug it into itunes it freezes itunes. I can't restore my iPhone, because it's not coming up in iTunes. It's been stuck at the screen with the apple logo for more then an hour. I can reset, but it never finishes loading.
I'm hours away from an ATT or apple store.

This problem happened to me. You have a "bricked" phone. The problem was addressed in the thread "Bricked iphone after the 10th sync". Sorry I don't know how to link to it, but it's in this forum, just another topic. I was able to resolve my problem following the fix given by "jsanders74". Good luck.

    Hi Arthur Daly,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like iOS device's are not appearing in iTunes. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

I have same issue. I click on the home button and Wake/sleep at the same time for 30 seconds or more and then the phone entered in Recovery mode. It is erasing my content now and installing the update. Let´s see how this ends. I have iCloud, iTunes match, and backups from previos versions, hope I can restore all my content.
Otherwise I´ll go to the Genius Bar to do a checkup.
    Good luck!
It did not work the first time... The iPhone4 kept in limbo. Then I did disconnect as suggested above and tried again to enter in Recovery mode.  This second time it works. And after restoring the iPhone4 with 7.0.3, it asked me if I want to recover from backup. I did recover from my latest back up and now it is syncing the content.

  • My Ipod is stuck on the Apple Logo Screen

For some reason, every time I update my Ipod touch it has restarting issues. I got it late December early January, so it's still new. The first time I updated it, it told me I needed to connect to Itunes and that it was in recovery mode and long story short I had to sync it from a computer that was not my own and it took two days for me to get it back up and running. This time, it's stuck on the apple logo screen. I tried turning it off by holding the lock and home button, but it just turned right back on. So then I was hoping that I could plug it into the computer and start it on recovery mode, but it doesn't even show up as being plugged into my computer. So now i'm lost at what to do.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HELP!!!! My iPhone is stuck on the apple logo!!!!

I just got back from apple and they swapped me another iphone and i came home and i plugged it in and wanted to restore everything back to my iphone and now its been vibrating like i just put it to charge, it keeps on vibrating 2 times then 5 sec later it vibrates again and again. Also its stuck on the apple logo and then a spinning thing like it show that its loading appears by the apple logo and it doesnt stop. Then it restarts again. And it keeps on doing it. I took my iphone out of the usb port of my computer because it showed that it was done, like on the top it said nothing like syncing or backing up iphone. It was already finished but it was still on the apple logo and the spinning thing was still there. So i just took it out and it started acting like that. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!! and i restarted it, i held the top and the bottom button. PLEASE HELPP!! Thank you!

If the iPhone is recognized by iTunes, restore it. At the end of the restore process, when you're prompted to by iTunes, do not restore from backup. This will eliminate corrupted/damaged files as the issue.
If the issue persists, it looks like you may need to make a second trip to the Apple store.
    Good luck

The backup described above does not include the music/apps/video etc.

A backup is not something that you do when your computer is failing, it is something you always maintain in case your computer unexpectedly fails.

  • My 5th gen nano is stuck on the apple logo

Okay, so I have been at this for awhile and have come to this: my nano 5th gen is stuck on the apple logo. It comes up in iTunes, when I go around the wheel it clicks, when I press a button it clicks, I have restored it several times both from the apple logo and disk mode... Oh and apparently it also syncs but stays while in iTunes but doesn't show on the device (just the darn apple logo)... anyone have any ideas before I go to the store... I am pass all the repair and warranty stuff so I guess it's open season on this thing... It can't get any worse so it can only get better, lol. Any ideas on what to do? BTW, it went through the washer and dryer in the same trip... lol. I am guessing it is completely dead but then I won't have gotten as far as I just mentioned... Help?
