Stuck on waiting. Tried everything
I've searched, read, attempted each fix, etc. I've done everything I can find on how to fix this issue. I have this app called "SystemLite". I can't delete it! I've done at least the following. I hope I'm not leaving anything out.
1. Held my finger on the app. The x appears, I click it, the phone confirms with me to delete but it doesn't delete.
2. I've held down the sleep and home button to reset the phone. It doesn't work.
3. I've signed out of iTunes and signed back in. Doesn't work.
4. I've connected to a PC and tried to find the app under "apps", it's not there.
5. I've searched iTunes, both on PC and iPhone, and I cannot find the app to download and reinstall.
6. I've gone to Setting>General>Usage, the app is not there.
7. I've gone to iTunes on the phone to look through my purchased apps, not there.
8. I've toggle different restrictions to see if it would trigger it, no dice.
Please help me!
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

most of my apps are stuck on 'waiting' have tried everything possible from what I read however nothing seems to work for me, does anyone know the right way PLEASE as it's very annoying....
When I open emails with PDFs I click on the attachment (doing this all on my iPad) it gives me the option to "open in iBooks", I accept then after that the document is sucked into my iPad but I can't do anything with the PDF after that. Where is the actual file on my iPad? Why can't I email or send these PDFs to my cloud (Dropbox)?
It's like once they go into iBooks they're stuck forever. -
Imessage waiting for activation - tried everything
Yesterday my iMessage turned itself off and whenever I've tried to turn it back on it's been stuck on 'waiting for activation'. I have tried every single 'solution' I could find including restoring the phone to factory settings and everything Apple recommend but absolutely nothing is working!

one of my ipod apps has frozen on waiting, I've tried everything. (Restarting it, plugging it into the computer, in setting etc...) and also I tried deleting it, but no "X" comes up. but nothing is working. Really annoyed. :( please help. ,

I just tried to update my iphone 4 to the 5.01. It said that my phone backed up and started update. i went on a run and came back and my phone is now stuck in recovery mode. It keeps saying that there is an unknown error, 1. I have tried everything on the troubleshooting list and cannot figure out what is wrong! Please HELP!!!

How do I use icloud to restore my documents that were in Pages? Pages got stuck in "waiting" to update and when nothing else worked I deleted it and reloaded Pages. Everything I can find is about wiping everything out and restoring everything. I don't want to restore everything just my Pages documents (and numbers and keynote that also locked up during updating).
What I meant is turn off Documents and Data in iCloud in OS X. Keep it on on your iOS devices. iCloud will sync documents between the iOS devices and make them available on the iCloud web site, but it won't mess up iWorks' open and save dialog boxes. It also won't assume that you want all your documents in iCloud, which I think is undesirable anyway.
Keep iOS and OS X separate, and use the web site to move files between the two as necessary.
iOS iWork is different from OS X iWork. There are fewer fonts on an iOS device. iOS iWork programs have slightly different feature sets than OS X iWork programs, and the file formats are different. iCloud automatically converts the file format when necessary, but if you make a habit of saving things directly to iCloud, you are limited to the lowest common denominator between the two versions of iWorks. So why would anyone want iWork on the Mac to open and save documents on iCloud by default?
If you want to store files in the cloud and sync them on your Macs, SugarSync is a much better solution. It lets you choose your sync folders, it doesn't make you reorganize your files, it lets you sync all file types, it doesn't convert files to a different format and back, and it stores everything in the cloud, too. Just the simle act of saving a file backs it up and syncs it. I wouldn't live without it. iCloud is best with iTunes purchases and synchronizing Mac settings and iOS files; I woudln't live without it. The two make an unbeatable combination. -
Ipod not recognized in itunes, stuck in recovery mode (tried everything)
I've had my ipod touch for about a year now, and the other day itunes told me I needed to download the new software and such. FYI, I use Vista (unfortunately. Probably not helping with the problem).
I am aware that this is a common problem. I have *tried everything* I can find at the moment, when I plug it into a different laptop nothing happens.
- I download itunes 9 etc and suddenly it says "ERROR OCCURRED" or something, I don't remember the error message too well (sorry).
- This didn't surprise me, I am used to itunes/ipods messing up on me. So I wait a while, and download the new software again. It installs.
*- A screen on my ipod appears with the itunes logo, a usb cable and "itunes".*
- I connect the ipod to the laptop. Nothing happens. Vista pops up saying:
*'Windows needs to install driver software for your Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)*
- Locate and Install driver software (recommended)
- > Ask me again later
- Don't show this message again for this device'
I click the first, it asks me for a disk {which obviously I don't have), when I click 'show me other options' it tells me it couldn't find driver software. Clicking on anything from here results in nothing or failure to find the driver or whatever.
*I've tried everything on this site including* rebooting, reinstalling, completely destroying any trace of itunes and associated programs on my computer (using Windows install cleanup too) and then installing again, manually disabling/enabling/repairing/everything else under the sun to the driver in the driver menu. The same thing happens every time.
So uh, any help? I've backed up everything on my harddrive so I'm open to practically anything. I'm so sick of errors with ipods, I've never had so much trouble with any other gadget ): Maybe I'm just cursed lol.After hours of searching for a fix I may have found one on a Mac Forum. This worked for mine but I had to restore it from the last back up. I also gave me the option of restore to new condition (out of hte box) but Ichoose from the last backup that itunes made. It took about 4 hours to fully restore all my 24gb of material. BUT,Now it's working perfectly. For how long...who knows?

after spending a full day and a half trying everything imaginable, i finally found a way to get my ipad to find my new airprint capable printer. I could print from email or the cloud, but not directly from my ipad. After reading a discussion about bluetooth printers, i turned off bluetooth in settings, waited 30 seconds, and voila!! I was able to print directly from my ipad. Try it if you are having troubles

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

My iPhone 4 started to update but got stuck in recovery mode. I've tried everything anyone on the website has told me to do, but nothing has worked. When you go to turn it on, it shows the Apple symbol, then it goes to the connect to iTunes screen. When I do that, it just says error with the code 9006. I've followed what the Apple site has said to do for it, but the phone is still is the same state. Is there anything I can do? I need my phone back as soon as possible.

Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, or 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.

Macbook pro stuck on grey apple logo screen - HELP! I've tried everything
I've looked through the forum for help and I think I've tried everything short of erasing and reinstalling mac os x -
- I've done an fsck (got "invalid volume count", "invalid node structure", "volume check failed" errors)
- booted from install disk and tried to verify disk (same errors as above)
- tried to "archive and install" mac os but got error saying "the destination disk must be erased for installation"
I tried T-starting my laptop connected to another mac (a powerbook g4) to try to backup my files before erasing and reinstalling mac os - but the mbp hard drive won't mount on the powerbook.
My latest idea is to try installing mac os x onto an external drive - and then booting my macbook pro from the external drive... and see if I get anywhere. my only concern is, I have to make SURE the option saying "Install Mac OS X - Installs Mac OS X for the first time" does NOT delete the contents of the external drive (it is a client's and cannot be erased!). I know there is also the option that says "Erase and Install" -- but I just want to make sure the first option will NOT delete the contents of an external drive.
Anyone know for sure? Or have any other suggestions? I have some work on my macbook pro that I cannot lose. Unfortunately I have not been backing things up... big mistake that I will not repeat.
Thanks in advance.DiskWarrior is the answer, as sig has suggested. It can sort out directory damage that is well beyond Disk Utility's repair capabilities. If you already had a bootable external hard drive of your own, I'd urge you to buy and download DiskWarrior and install it on the bootable external drive, then run it from there to rebuild the directory on your internal drive. I have to say that using a client's hard drive to solve your own problem would be appalling and unconscionable, and I hope you'll forget that idea.
If you can't see your way to buying an external hard drive along with DiskWarrior, you'll have to buy DW on a bootable disc, or order one online and wait for it to arrive.
If you can buy an external hard drive of your own in addition to DiskWarrior — and I can't think of any better use for a credit card, if cash is short — then you'll be able to boot your MBP to a Leopard installer disc, install Leopard on the new external drive, and then buy DiskWarrior as a download (rather than on a disc) and use it as I described above. After sorting out the internal drive with DW, clone the internal to the external drive with SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner, and there's your backup from now on.
I should add that although Western Digital external hard drives seem to be available cheaply everywhere, I strongly recommend against buying one. Seagate drives are also widely available, and would be a better choice.

My mac was being slow.. i tried a lot of stuff but finally decided to just clear the disk and reinstall snowleapord. I had done this before and solved the problem slowness issue. I stuck the DVD in the drive before restarting but when I tried to boot from it the disk just spun but didn't boot. the mac booted from my harddrive just like normal.. I've tried everything to get it out. Holding down the mouse, drutil eject tray in terminal, disk utility, booting and holding eject.. Nothing has worked. the disc spins on waking up or starting up but it is never recognized, its never on the desktop doesn't show up in disk utility.. I don't know what to do at this point and i think its starting to effect my mac. Spinning wheel on almost every application and obviously battery problems from the disc being spun every time i open it in class. Its finals week and i need my mac for notes/papers/tests etc.. so i cant take it to the nearest apple store for a couple weeks.. please help. thanks!
Try pressing the eject button in the top right corner of your keyboard (it the one next to volume increase).
I had this problem with a DVD + R and after trying everything I realized there is an eject button. -

Just updated to iOS 5.1.1 stuck on waiting when trying to load apps from the apps store
Yesterday I updated my Ipad 2 to iOS 5.1.1. Ever since, whenever I try to download an app purchased in the App store, it gets stuck on "waiting', eventually times out and asks me if I want to cancel or retry. Retry does not help. Have they come up with a resolution for this yet. Also, I wonder if I'm being charged for the App? Thanks for any help
Check iTunes and see if you have a pending or stalled download in there. If you do, finish that download or delete it if you can. If you can't finish or delete the download on the iPad, do it in iTunes on your computer and then sync the iPad. Then go back to the apps and see I'd they will download.
If that doesn't work or if that was not the problem, go to Settings>Store >Apple ID, tap your ID and sign out. Then reboot the iPad, Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Then go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if the apps will update.
Once you tap on Install or Buy, you will be charged for the app. You will only be charged once. If nothing else works, you can download the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync them to the iPad. If everything totally fails, you can contact iTunes support and report the issue and see about getting a refund if the apps will not download. However, I believe that if you try what I have suggested, one of those methods will work for you.

i jailbroken my ipod and when i try to restore it, its stuck on the loading screen with a skull on it but now i cant even look at the apps or lock it plz up i tried everything pretty much. i tried putting it in dfu and dfu pwn mod
