STUCK on white screen with battery icon in the middle with RED LIGHT

I have BB curve 8900 and my BB shutdown by itself yesterday and it wont start on again !
so i charged it the red LED start to show and white screen with battery icon in the middle it looks like empty battery, and stuck on it and sometimes it keeps spinning over and over again until it bcome black screen then it starts the same begining !
I tried the hard boot by taking the battery out for sometime and reinstalled it but it didn't work. I even try putting a different battery (friends battery) but still no joy..
and the main catch is if i try taking out the battery and plug the charger or connects it to the laptop it does the same thing without even any battery in it.
So is it really a Battery problem or the OS problem.?? (If its a OS problem, can u install it myself at home.?
Waiting for the reply
Thanks

if it does not boot then..??
Well, you need to do as suggested first.
Then, if not: If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

My iPod has a white screen.  After holding down the middle and menu button, the screen goes black then back to white and beeps twice.  I have returned to original settings and resorted content to no avail.  I still have a white screen.  I have plugged it up and tried resetting again and again, still a white screen with two beeps - help.

  • Flash Games Keeps Crashing , White screen Gray exclamation mark in the middle .

As the title says , I run a flash game like sas zombie assault 4 or dead zone , the game will run ok for a few minutes but then the whole thing crashes , white screen with gray exclamation mark in the middle , ive tried re installing flash , tried different browsers and a lot of other things , ive run out of ideas and really need help here please :/ .

It's not uncommon for some of the high-end games to consume upwards of 1GB of RAM.  You've got 865MB free.  The player runs out of memory and exits.  (The grey circle with the exclamation point is the out of memory icon)
The content provider would either need to optimize their game to use less memory, or you need to add memory to the machine, or run less stuff simultaneously (use a single tab as the only open application, etc).  Also, keep in mind that a 32-bit OS will only let you use the first 2GB of memory, so if you have more RAM than 2GB, you're not getting access to it because you're on a 32-bit OS.

  • HT4061 My iPad 2 crashed when I was upgrading from 7.02 to 7.04.  I have tried to reset the iPad several times, but it does not come back.  It gets stuck with a screen that shows iTunes in the middle with a graphic showing the adapter cord with an arrow

What do I do now to restore without looking all my data, photos and settings?

Did you do a backup before you did the iOS update. You should always do this in case of problems. Otherwise your data/files my be lost.

  • Blackberry Curve 8530 Stuck on White Screen

    Hello there,
    I need help!
My Blackberry Curve 8530 is stuck on a white screen with battery image in the middle of the screen with a red line accross it. The BB was  working fine, but for some reason froze up, and it wouldn't respond to anything, so I took the battery out and put it back in and since then the phone is stuck on the white screen with the ddescription described above.
Just to let you know I have dwonloaded the sofware and installation loader from my carrier. I connected my BB to my PC via USB cable- the PC rocognized the device at first and istalled the drivers, but when I run the application loader it says that the BB is not connected and I have the option to connected and retry it---I did, I disconnected the USB and re-connected, tried it again, but I keep geeting the same thing. Not sure what to do next-
Can someone help me with this issue?

  • Start up showing a folder with a ? in the middle

Just switched on my iMac and all I get is a grey screen with a folder icon in the middle with a ? In it.  I'm assuming this is not good but is there anything I should try?
    Thanks
    David

That folder means that your Mac is unable to find any bootable device. It may mean two things:
Your Mac forgot which the startup disk is.
Your Mac cannot detect the hard drive.
To discard the first reason, turn on your Mac and hold the Option (Alt) key until you see all bootable devices in the display. If you see your OS X partition, choose it, and after starting up, go to System Preferences > Startup Disc, and select your OS X partition.
If you do not see any device to start up your Mac, it is a more serious problem, as it probably means that your hard drive is damaged. At this point, if you are a non-expert user, I would recommend you to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller. Other users may recommend you to reinstall OS X, but this will not solve anything if your hard drive is the problem.

    HI,
*"I have opened disk utility top repair disk, but when I click on disc image, repair / verify disk buttons are unavailable to click and S.M.A.R.T status is not supported."*
You need to select "MacintoshHD 10.5.8 not "disc image" in order to run Disk Utility and Verify and if necessary, Repair the disk.
That's why you are seeing this dialog.
*are unavailable to click and S.M.A.R.T status is not supported.*
Also, run the Apple Hardware Test.

    Hello Edward
Follow the prompts on your iPhone and you will get either at your home screen like normal or get to a point of restoring from back up. The article below will give step by step for restoring from back up.

  • Mac stuck at white screen later shows blinking folder with question mark

Today for some reason my mac froze and I had to manually start it back up. After I started it back up it was stuck at a white screen and later on a blinking folder with a question mark came up. I've tried using shortcut keys on startup but none of them are working. it just keeps on showing the white screen and later on the blinking folder with the question mark. Is it just a problem with the HDD that's supposed to read the HD? Or is my HD the problem and I lost all my data?

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    Alternatively, see:

Choose the version you have installed now:
OS X Yosemite- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X

i can not get in to my os system. the screen just stuck in white screen and apple logo

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 3
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is damaged and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to step 5.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 4
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 5
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 6
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 7
Repeat step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a backup.
    Step 8
A dead logic-board battery in a Mac Pro can cause a gray screen at boot. Typically the boot failure will be preceded by loss of the startup disk and system clock settings. See the user manual for replacement instructions.
    Step 9
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
