Stuck on Windows.

Using Windows with bootcamp and now stuck with it. Took drive out and deleted Bootcamp partition thinking it would start in OS X. But it just asks for a Windows Boot Disk. Can't use keyboard and mouse must be in computer not in keyboard to work.

A Windows keyboard still has an Alt key. Alt on Windows is the same as Option on Mac. That is why the Option key on a US Mac keyboards is sub-inscribed Alt.

Stuck on Windows Vista with Lenovo G550?

Hi, I am experiencing a problem which is making me get really mad at Lenovo Customer Service and Microsoft at the same time. I am using a G550 with 1.8GHz Celeron CPU and 2GB DDR RAM with 250GB HDD and G4500 Graphics
Here my Problem:
I was quite happy when buying my laptop, and couldnt wait to install Windows 7 on it. As I did so, I figured out very soon that there are major issues with Windows 7 on my laptop, and I was not able to run any of my software. Games wouldnt run, the programs would crash and I felt fooled in a way. That was why I then thought of XP, which was a very simple OS, but at least would run all of my software on this Notebook that I had just bought. So I installed XP and I could not find all the drivers I needed, I was not able to run my WIreless LAN-Network and in total XP is a 9 year old piece of software, which has many security issues, and wont be suiting a new Laptop in this price category. I mean I spent some 500 dollars on this notebook, and then I end up running XP on it? No thanks!
So I moved to Vista, which was my last hope, and which would at least run my applications, not crash and updatable. And at least I could really use the ease of this notebook on Vista. But one thing that really makes me crazily mad is, that I happen to have the worst performance with Windows Vista. I run SP2, the start procress needs like 40seconds without logon. Another additional 20 seconds for loading all the autostart programs (which are just CA Anti Virus and the usual system stuff). Do I have to be stuck on Windows Vista forever? I am experiencing so many problems with this operating system, but somehow its just more convenient than old dusty XP and new crashy windows7. Is it really this bad, that after spending hundreds of dollars on a new laptop I have to stick ot vista, in order to stay up to date and use my old programs which windows 7 just wont run?
I think its bit of an Ironie that Microsoft does not solve their incompatibility issues with lenovo laptops, and that Lenovo does not care about the problems their customers experience.
I was very well surprised when I bought this notebook until I realized the problems like:
Disk turning on and off al the time
Incompatibility with Win7
Driver problems on old OS like XP
I think lenovo really ows us a statement, and Microsoft should really tell us what we are going to purchase before we buy it. Money doesnt grow on trees and I am not willing to spend a lot of money on OS and Notebooks that later wont run correctly.
Whats your opinion on this?

Win 7 Desk Top theme stuck on Windows Classic

Somehow my desktop got stuck in Windows Classic. I am unable to change it to any Aero theme.
Trouble shooter indicated that my video card is unable to support Aero themes. My lap top was manufactured with Win 7 and it has worked fine until a couple days ago.
I have ran multiple spyware, malware, and rootkit programs to clean PUP's that might have hijacked the OS. Desktop worked fine initially, now it has reverted back to Win Classic.
Any ideas how to fix this with out a complete reformatting?

Often the reason why your Windows 7 theme could be stuck on classic is that your PC is configured to be optimized for better performance.
I also would like to share the following possible reasons with you:
a. Desktop Window Manager is disabled
b. Video card doesn’t support required display settings
c. Color depth is too low
d. Transparency is disabled
e. Mirror drivers don’t support Aero effects
f. Current power settings don’t support Aero desktop effects
g. Themes service isn’t running
h. Aero effects not supported on this Windows edition
i. Desktop Window Manager Sessions Manager service isn’t running

Major Boot Camp problem! Stuck in Windows

Hi,
I installed Windows Vista Ultimate on a bootcamp partition, and now I am stuck in windows. The boot camp folder is missing from the program files folder, and consequently there is no bootcamp icon on my system tray to facilitate startup disk selection.
I am unable to select a disk if I hold down Option during the boot process - it still goes straight to windows. Same thing if I hold down Cmd-Opt-O-F to access the OSX Bios.
I am really at a loss here. Any help would be great.

Do you have the install disc for that Mac?
If so, insert Install Disc 1 and start the computer while holding down the C key. Choose a language, then from the Utilities menu, choose *Disk Utility*.
You should see your hard drive in the left-hand column (with the manufacturer name & capacity) and underneath that icon should be 2 partitions: "Macintosh HD" and "disk0s3" (or something similar).
Do you see both partitions?

Stuck in WIndows!

I installed Windows XP on my Mac, and after installation, I was lead to Windows. I now see a Windows desktop on my Mac. I read that I could switch back to the Mac side by pressing option during start up, but when I did, there was only one hard drive avaliable, and that was Windows. There was a white screen, and there was one hard drive that was labeled Widows. No Mac side. I'm stuck in Windows XP! HELP!

Either you overwrote OS X partition or something else going on.
From cold boot reset pram/nvram and see if that helps.
Hold down 4 keys and continue to hold thru 2 full restart cycles it will make - command + option + p + r.
Else restore from backup / TimeMachine or boot from your Apple DVD and check the drive's integrity.

HELP PLEASE - stuck in windows!

I have a mac OS X and tried to set up boot camp today so i could also run windows on my mac. I installed windows xp sucsessfully but when i came to install service pack 2 it says there isn't enough memory to instal it. When chosing the memory at the partition set up i musn't have selected enough memory. I try to insert the mac instillation disk but it says it can't continue untill windows has been updated (which will be service pack 2) this means the option to
choose mac has not installed and i am stuck in windows i can't find a way out. Please Help!!

Hlp stuck in windows

After quiting during the install of some music lessons in garage band, my Mac book is stuck in windows ie I can not make It boot up I lion.
Any suggestions? I installed win 7 a couple of weeks ago via boot camp.

Choose Lion Recovery
You may have created a mess with Lion
Do Safe Boot first time afterwards
Command + r = Lion Recovery if you don't get there with Option key
Be ready to repair and restore

Press X key to start in OS X. Also, Windows 8 isn't compatible with Boot Camp, so you could have problems with that edition. If you can't start in OS X after pressing X key, probably you deleted OS X volume, so you have to reinstall Mountain Lion

If I restart normally and manually disable addons/plugins, then close and start normally again i.e not safe mode, it
breaks, so does not seem to be an addon or plugin but rather something with the configuration.

Office 2013 Installation stuck on Windows 8.1 ESXi virtual machine

When I try to install Office 2013 32 Bit - on a Windows 8.1 64 Bit Virtual Machine that is hosted on ESXi Host server .....it stucked installing it for hours and hours without finishing ....... I tried to install locally on a mounted ISO image with the same
result !!
It happens on many machines not a specific one !
Does any one know what can be a reason for that ?!

At which specific percentage will the setup hang? Vuk is right above, but it's really hard to say what's the cause of your case.
Please first take a look at this KB article and see if it is helpful for you:
Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365 hangs during setup
I would suggest you go and check the setup log files to troubleshoot the issue, which is the best way to narrow down the issue I think.

Can't Change Account picture and Stuck in WIndows Update on Windows 8.1 Pro

I am facing problem on changing my account picture and windows update, both of these issue was gave me a head ache of searching best solution, but none of all of the techie "solved forums" for these both problems was solved my problems.
I had first clean install this Windows 8.1 Pro N to my laptop, and tried to change my Account Picture but personal settings is not opening, I followed all instructions from forums but none of those tricks works for me.
Now trying to Update my Windows, another problem it was stuck in Preparing to Install, another extensive searching from the internet forums, another no lucky to solve this problem, although some people works, but in mine, no luck.
Better to move down again to Windows 7.

Boot camp is getting stuck while windows support software

I am using macbook air and currently trying to install windows 7 using bootcamp 5. The bar is stuck and is not progressing further no matter for how much long i keep it. Can anybody guide me on what might be wrong

And how can I use Boot Camp Assistant to write the Windows.iso to USB-stick because it forces the download of support software (it is selected and grayed out).
The following page recommends using BCA for the MBP mid 2014.

I guess I could write the Windows.iso to USB using Windows (in fact I already did and it boots the MBP) and then try if the aforementioned software packages (which one?) contain necessary drivers for our MBP.
But I'd rather do it the recommended way letting the Boot Camp Assistant do the dirty work.

Stuck at Windows 7 Logo.

Hi, I have successfully installed Windows 7 on my imac yesterday. After that, it prompted me to install updates for Windows 7, which I did. However, when I restarted the computer today, it got stuck at the windows logo screen for a very long time. I have no idea how to get pass that, hence I decided to restore the partition using bootcamp assistant and reinstall Windows again and I can no longer install the DVD, as it is stuck at the windows 7 logo screen.
I also noticed that there's lot of running sound coming out from my imac. Anyone can solve my situation?

I am stuck at the windows logo screen with the words 'starting up'. I let it continue on for 30 mins but there's no response at all. I've also noticed that the imac fan sound is louder after I have installed windows 7 yesterday.
Anyone?

Creative Suite 6 installation stuck on windows 7

Bought creative suite 6 Design and Web Premium and started the installation on windows 7
Went with default installation and selected all (default).. After around 20 min or so
it keeps accessing CD drive while installing acrobat X. Looks like it got stuck.. Waited for
several min and I had to shut down the PC.
Started another installation and now de-selected acrobat and see how it goes.. need to
wait for an hour I guess to see whether it will be successful
Any knows issues. BTW this PC is isolated for photo processing only.. and I connect to internet while
uploading my photos. So it has an old ver of Windows 7 and I do not update windows 7 since I want to keep
this PC virus free..

Are you running Windows 7 or Windows 7 Service Pack 1? In addition to running the cleaner tool I would also recommend reviewing your installation log files.
