Stuck Pixels on iPod Touch

My iPod Touch is having the stuck pixel lcd problem. I have about 3 significantly bright stuck pixels and a whole bunch of not so bright ones. I don't seem to have the inverted black problem though. Is this an issue that can be easily fixed by an update or should I bring my new iPod in to be replaced? And if I do get it replaced what do you think the odds of me having the same problem are?

I had a large number of stuck pixels verified by the mac genius and his manager and they have approved a replacement as soon as they get more stock in. I am being left in charge of checking for their level of stock they won't call me when they get some in.
I had 5 very bright and about 6 they found when the took it in the back and magnified the screen, I would say you have a really good chance of taking it and and getting a replacment. Glad to hear you don't have the black issue I do. Hopefully replacments won't have stuck ones but we have the warranty so hopefully we're all covered for a while.

Stuck Pixel on iPod Touch 4th Gen

Hi everyone! I recieved an iPod touch last Christmas and it's been wonderful so far. However, I noticed that there is a bright white pixel that can clearly be seen on a dark background. I know the resolution on these things are huge for the iPod's size considering it is a retina display, but will Apple replace the iPod? It was bought from a nearby WalMart, and there are no nearby Apple Stores here in West Virgina to take it to for inspection. I was reading in the one year limited warranty but I didn't see anything about stuck or dead pixels. Thanks!

However, many users have had their iPods replaced because of one bad pixel. I would bring it to WalMart and see what they say.

I got my iPod about a year and a half ago, but I've only used it for a year. About a month ago, after dance I had grabbed my iPod and tryed to unlock it but it wouldn't unlock. Before I pressed it to unlock it, it was very loose. After I pressed it, it got stuck inside and its still a little loose but it wouldn't come out. So I pressed the home button to unlock it and I've been doing that ever since. I have to let my iPod automatically lock, because of the button not being able to work. I'm just tired of waiting and not being able to lock my iPod. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of how much it will cost to get this problem fixed without the warranty (I never got to set it up)

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple stoe. Maybe they can free the button. If not, Apple will only exchange it for a refurbished one for $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity.

How to fix dead pixels on iPod touch 4g?

Hi.
I have a 2 year old iPod touch in very good condition, and I am starting to notice that some pixels where dying. It started out as a very few, then a bit more, and this morning, there was even more. I want to fix this cuz I am afraid that the problem grows and that I will no longer be able to use my iPod. It is out of warranty now, and I do not feel like paying a fortune to get it fixed...I take extreme good care of my iPod. And I have no money to get a new one.

Unfortunatly the only solution i can see is to either buy a replacement screen or a new ipod. As you said you have no money to get a new one so you may be able to find a replacement screen cheaper than buying a new ipod. Or you could try an LCD repair kit, though i have only seen them for fixing LCD screens in car speedometers.

Where is the phone number on the iPod?
If you have an iPhone with iOS and use the same ID for Messages and FaceTime as on the iPod the iPhone's phone number will be listed for Messages and FaceTime on the iPod.
If you changed phone numbers on the iPhone, sign out of Messages and FaceTime and then sing back in. Then do the same a little while later on the iPod.

The tip of my headphone is stuck in my IPod Touch

HELP!!! Is there and easy way to remove the tip of the headphones from my IPod Touch. I cannot use the external speakers and the only way I can play music is to attach a speaker to the jack at the bottom. I can't use any headphones. If I take it to the Apple store is it going to cost an arm and a leg? Please help and Happy New Year.

OK so I made an appointment withthe Apple store and they were not able to get the piece out. They told me that if they tried to get it out it would possibly break the housing. My only option was to get a new Ipod.

How to fix line of stuck pixels on ipod nano 4g?

Last week a vertical line of stuck grey pixels have been showing across the screen of my ipod nano 4g. None of the ipod's functions appear to be affected, but I was still wondering if there was a way to fix it because it's very noticable.

How do you sync iPod Touch music library to iTunes Match for transferring to/using on main computer iTunes?

Hello, and thank you for any help anyone can offer. I subscribed to iTunes Match to transfer my music that's been stuck on my iPod Touch (iOS 5.1.1) to my new computer.
First, some background to explain my problem. On an old laptop, I had 15,000+ songs (mostly video game music downloaded online) that I synced to my iPod Touch. The computer containing that music started having trouble and likely died. I was unable to afford having it looked at, but all the music from it has remained on my iPod Touch.
Recently, instead of trying to have the old computer fixed, I bought a new laptop. I was looking for a solution to get the music from my iPod Touch onto my new computer, since I know syncing with it would cost me every song I have on the iPod Touch that I didn't download on iTunes Store. I thought iTunes Match was the solution, that it would bring the music on my iPod Touch to the iCloud, and I'd at last be able to download my huge library onto the new computer from there.
Now, the problem: I had to purchase the iTunes Match service on my laptop iTunes. It put all my purchased music from the laptop on iTunes Match. Well, when I go to iPod Touch and try to turn on iTunes Match, it says: "iTunes Match will replace the music library on this device." I assume if I do that, it'll wipe out my 15,000+ iPod Touch songs from my old laptop and replace them with the 1200 or so that I've purchased from the iTunes Store (which I already have on my iPod)!!! That is the last thing I want to do! Is there a way of getting my iPod Touch library to the cloud so I can access it on iTunes, or have I wasted $25 on iTunes Match? If I wanted to replace the 15,000 songs on my iPod with the little library of purchased music on my new computer, I would just plug my iPod into it and sync! Furthermore, my purchases were already available on the iCloud when I authorized this new computer, without spending a dime. I've put a lot of time into my library, and making playlists as well. Any help getting my iPod music on iTunes Match is greatly appreciated! Sorry if I've overlooked something obvious, this is my first experience with cloud-based services.

iTunes Match does not work this way. The service does not scan the music on an iOS device, only an iTunes library. For your music to be available in the cloud it must first be in an iTunes library. See the following articles:

An iOS device or iPod is not a storage device or backup of your music library. It is your responsibliity to maintain a backup of your music and other personal data.

IPod touch problems grey pixels and stuck sleep/wake button

I got my iPod touch 2g in January of this year and I noticed that my sleep wake button was inside the iPod not sticking out like it is suppose to and I also saw that I have about 15 rows of greyed out pixels. I'm wondering if my warranty can fix both of these problems for free or do I need to pay money. I have tried the stuck pixel fix but nothing happened.

IPod Touch 4g stuck pixels

I just recently received the new iPod touch from the online apple store and found over 9 stuck pixels scattered around the screen. They are noticeable especially on a dark screen and I was wondering if I would be able to go to an apple store and get a replacement. I also got it engraved so would this prevent me from getting a replacement?

You can take it to any store and they will replace it with no problem. Usually they give you a stock iPod off the shelf, but if you want to keep the engraving, request it, and they will give you a call when the iPod gets to the store.
It's unfortunate that they cant engrave in store so that people who order online won't have to go to a store, but it occurs from time to time.
