Stuck remote icons, no local icon drag, easy fix

Folks:
10.7.1 on Quad-Core iMac
I connected to a Win box on my LAN, opened an HD and a subfolder, then copied two files from my Mac there. Then closed the subfolder.
Problem: Those two items remained on the (2nd display) window, untouchable. Switching workspaces didn't erase them. Cycling 2nd display power didn't help.
OK, that's just a display driver glitch, no worry…
But then I noticed that NO icon on my Mac was click-hold-and-drag moveable. Not on the desktop and not in the several folders I checked.
Strange.
Fortunately, force-relaunching Finder fixed both problems, removed the untouchable icons and restored click-hold-and-drag. Everything seems normal now.

CORRECTION! In fixes, I stated that this won't work if the broken drive is larger than the working drive. Well that makes no sense, because one usually acquires a larger external for added space. So, I don't know how I made that error. That was a typo on my part!
The opposite is true! What I meant to say is that
this will not work if the broken drive is SMALLER THAN the working drive, because the working drive has to be small enough to fit into the broken one. I wish I could edit it in the original post, but I cannot.

On which system you are facing this issue?
Can you ping to the remote system\server successfully?
Initially it seems that this occur due to services issue on system. Might possible that the remote Services component is not installed or is disabled. For that you can add the remote Services component by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel
before attempting to start the service. If the service is already installed then check whether it is started properly. Additional check the relayed service for Remote and verify.

I would start by running the Apple Hardware Test directly from the Installation CD that came with your MBP.

Compressor 3 "no cluster found" message - EASY FIX

I have had to install compressor 3 times before I finally found this easy fix. In my case Compressor would stop working when a video would get "stuck" in the batch and just go on forever. From then on the batch would always say "no cluster found", and if I tried to submit a batch it would say something like cluster no found.
So how did I fix it without the dreaded delete everything and reinstall? I saw a post that said to check that your sharing name matches your cluster name in the qmaster system preferences. They did not exactly match. The name in sharing was "My Mac" and the name in qmaster was "My Mac Cluster" I changed it to match the sharing "My Mac" and hit the start sharing button. I reset my Mac (no sure if that's needed) and then opened the batch monitor. Instead of "no cluster found" it now said "My Mac" and when I submitted a batch in compressor the "This Computer" showed up again, and it stared working again!
Not sure if this works in all cases. But I hope this post helps someone else from having to reinstall everything, AND maybe apple can read this to help figure out what the problem is with their software.

i had the usual "no clusters found" in batch monitor, and "this computer" did not appear in batch monitor. so, when trying to submit a batch from compressor, i got the "unable to submit batch / retart your computer" error message.
so for 2 days i tried really EVERY METHOD i found in all blogs, threads, posts, discussion forums to remove / reinstall / make work compressor.
here what i tried:

What to do with compatability issues? Easy fix? or good enough?

So with this forum's help I've managed to create a new website for our company... I worked locally from my laptop - win7, google chrome - and it looked great, but from our work computers - winXP, IE 6 - there's a few issues:
- The title in the banner shifts up/down from page to page
- Banner itself expands on some pages
- spry accordion is aligned on the left, but should be centered
Is there an easy fix to any of these? Probably not..
Also, what's the best way to test the site on all browser's? I know dreamweaver has the check, but I'd like to see what it looks like.. Should I download each browser and test them?

Browser specific issues in IE are usually fixable with a few conditional comments. You would have to upload your site to a test folder on your server and post a URL here to get help. There is no way to know what you've got going on without seeing your page(s)/code.
Use the online code validation tools below and fix any reported errors. 90% of browser problems can be cured with valid code.

Camera feature has gone completely blank...any easy fix?

I wonder if this problem is common...my camera feature just went totally blank, almost as if the shutter is stuck closed...however the entire screen is blank. If anyone is familiar and knos of an easy fix, it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Club! Got the same Problem and had a really hard time reaching the Customer Support because they were down due to maitenance! Just wrote to their experts chat and hope to get an answer in this life!
I tried to authorize my Computer and eBookreader with a new Adobe-ID, but it says I've done used this ID too often, even though it was brandnew! Can't copy my just-purchased eBook because "Copying is not allowed".
I hold my thumbs for you that Adobe solves this Problem fast enough. Other ways I'll sell my eBookreader and buy the Kindle-Reader from Amazon and say GOOD BYE to Adobe!

What fixed it for me:
On your computer, open iTunes > My iPhone (or whatever name you gave your iPhone) > "Music" page
Uncheck "Sync Music"
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
Uncheck the box for every song, playlist, etc.
Click "Sync" button (bottom right) (This step may be unnecessary, but I did it and got the result I wanted.)
Let it run and finish
Check the boxes for the music you want on your iPhone
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish

My headphone port only works through one ear, is there an easy fix?

Hi, I have always been careful to not leave my headphones plugged in when I'm not using my iPod (classic), but yesterday for some reason no music will play through the right headphone. I have tried three different sets of headphones and it's the same will all of them so it has to be the iPod, is there an easy fix at all? if i have to have it fixed does anyone know how much it might cost?

I don't think it's possible anymore. I'm mildly surprised you were able to keep podcasts in regular playlists this long - I thought this option disappeared back with iOS7.
I do share your pain. I've finally grown used to having the podcasts in a separate app, but I still don't like it.
