Stuck with CDDB server connection

hello from belgium
I am stuck , not knowing how I need to connect to CDDB server. So my imported songs stay track1, track2 etc without a title unless I type him in myself via "file - get info"... see error msg below
"unable to connect to the CDDB server. the network connection was refused. make sure your internet connection is active and your network settings are correct. than try again."
please advice
thanks
wim

tried all of this.still no luck.
hmmm. are you on a home/corporate network running through a router, chris? if so (diagnostic suggestion, rather than a cure) try plugging directly into your internet connection rather than going via the router.
does a CDDB query go through?
(there's actually no need to import something to test this. just use one of those "Track 1"s in your library, by selecting the track and going "advanced > get CD track names".)
love, b

  • Trouble with Content Server connection

I am having an issue with content server on Unix.  I'm finished with content server install and need to connect my ABAP system to it via CSADMIN. But when I first enter CSAdmin, I give it my host and port. What is the unix http script name for the default install???  Only the Windows name - ContentServer.dll - is populated? What is the web address to get to the content server?
    http://<host>:<port>/???????
Do I need to do something with OAC0 and SICF first, before going to CSADMIN.  The guide does not mention anything?
    Thanks for your replies!

Hi. I dont know obout CS on UNIX, on windows  CS uses port 1090 and HTTP script ContentServer/ContentServer.dll

  • Help with Application Server connection

I'm trying to create an App Server connection so that I can deploy directly from jdeveloper. When I try to test the connection I get the following error:
Error getting Cluster Config Set URLs for uri: deployer:cluster:opmn://<my host name>:6003/home/default_group
I've made sure that the app server is listening on port 6003, however are there any other processes that need to be started up?
By the way the App Server is version 10.1.3.1
    and jdeveloper is version 10.1.3.2

Did you select Single instance or Group on the Connection tab? With single instance the OC4J Component/Group filed needs to have home in it (assuming you want to deploy to home (better create a new oc4j container and not deploy your own apps to home)), with Group selected you need to enter default_group into the OC4J Components/Group field, when deploying it will ask you to which container you wih to deploy. Start the app server components with opmnctl startall or check the status with opmnctl status, opmn and the oc4j container where you want to deploy need to be running.

The SQL server version is: MSSQL server 2005
the "sqljdbc.jar" file is there in place "<ORACLE_HOME>/oracledi/drivers"
    Java version: jdk1.5.0
There is no change in source or target db. Please help me to fix this issue

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The link is helpful and its the same what is there in the environment.
"The JDK version is 1.5 and JRE version is 1.4.2."
But, this was working fine till last week. I am worried, if the issue is due to version compatability why we were not facing this issue before. There is no changes in the environment since go live of this interface.
    Thanks,

  • Help please with Client Server Connection

I have created a server and a client but I have no clue how to execute both on my computer. Can anyone please help me??

    Problem solved!
    It took:-
4 day's of discussing this issue with BT though the usual automated telephone answering palava and talking to at least 4 different support team people, all from/in another country with different understanding, communication and training levels.
    Running numerous Line tests
Trying 3 different routers (including having to find the old ones in the shed!)
Checking speeds on an iMac, Macbook Pro, iPad and even a Playstation
Methodically checking the settings of the router detail by detail
    Running other speed testers
    Changing cables
    etc. etc...
I finally realised that whilst my connection speed was 8mbps, BT had set an IP Profile for the line of 2mbps.  This is not alway's obvious when you run their speedtester as that site doesn't alway's show it to you!
Having rung them again and told them of my discovery I now have between 6 & 7mbps and can hopefully watch steaming video without interuption.
An awful and unneccessary experience - Well done BT!

  • Database Adapter with sql server connection cannot import user tables

    Hi,
In jdeveloper 11g, I tried to create a sql server database connection, i could create the connection, i could see the tables and navigate through the data in
Database navigator section. But while trying to import the tables in the Database adapter to do polling operation, It displays only the system tables like this
    syscolumns (dbo)
    syscomments (dbo)
    sysdepends (dbo)
    sysfilegroups (dbo)
    sysfiles (dbo)
    sysforeignkeys (dbo)
    sysfulltextcatalogs (dbo)

    sysobjects (dbo)
    syspermissions (dbo)
    sysprotects (dbo)
    sysreferences (dbo)

I am not understanding this wierd bahaviour of jdeveloper.
    please advise.

This is NOT related solely to the SOA Suite. The same behavior appears in the Connections Navigator.
IMHO, this is related to how JDeveloper is parsing the .getMetaData() response.

Has someone left the company or has an account of some nature been dropped/replaced?

    Hi Tony,
Srry but No.  We just installed the monthly updates.
I went back and found I had missed removing a patch.  I missed the rollup for Windows Server 2003:
    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: NtServicePack
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 4382
    Date:  3/12/2015
    Time:  12:26:04 PM
    User:  NETTEST\admin
    Computer: DATA1
    Description:
Windows Server 2003 KB954920 was removed from your computer, and the previous Windows Server 2003 configuration was restored.
After I removed that is still didn't work but after about five minutes it started working.
I guess I ned to report that to MS after I research what might be changed to make the patch work.
Every time I get stuck and ask for help it seems to be just before I stumble on the solution.
    Thanks for replying.
Well - maybe this will help someone else.
    Thanks again for replying Tony

  • ITunes "can't connect to the CDDB server" for tracks on a CD (but can once I've imported them)

When I insert a CD into my computer, iTunes cannot get the track names before importing, I get the "Unable to connect to the CDDB server. The network cannot be reached." Bizarrely, however, once I import the tracks onto my PC and ask iTunes to 'Get Track Names' for the files in my library, it can do it fine. I am also able to access the iTunes Store without trouble.
Also, in what I'm sure is related, the Apple Software Update program does not work anymore ("The server could not be found"), so I've to manually download new versions of iTunes from the Apple website.
I've had this problem for months, and I've tried pretty much every solution I'd seen posted for similar problems (reinstalling iTunes, disabling my virus protection, updating Gracenote, ensuring the proxy settings are automatic) with no success.

I've just tried putting my computer into Safe Mode (with netwroking) to check if there was some other program stopping it from working properly, but iTunes still acted the same. It's more of a minor inconvienience than a problem, seeing as I can just get track names after importing and update manually, but it's still pretty baffling.

  • Not connecting to CDDB server after upgrading to 7.7

This is the error message I get when trying to connect to iTunes store and even to get CD track names.
"Unable to connect to the CDDB server. The network connections timed out."
I have an internet connection and can browse without any problems. This occurred after I upgraded my iTunes software to the 7.7 version. I have tried most all possible solutions I have found online and still no success. I've tried allowing iTunes to work with the firewall, registering with Gracenote CDDB server, flushing the DNS settings, reinstalling iTunes, even tried to download an older version but then it does not recognize my iTunes library. I have restarted my computer multiple times over a span of 24 hours. I don't know what to do next. I'm trying to get more music for my ipod as I'm leaving for a trip soon.
    Please help!
    Nina

Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? There have been reports that some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from connecting to the various services. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
Check the settings for your utility and if necessary remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes (consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure).
    Hope this helps.

    I do not know if you have this solved but I may have a solution. I have a MacBookPro early 2011 model with iTunes 11 installed. This is what I did to get it working;
    1. Close iTunes
    2. Open System Preferences
    3. Clicked on Network
    4. Select WiFi in the white column on the left
    5. Choose the Advanced button in the lower right hand side
    6. Press the Proxies tab
    7. Choose Auto Proxy Discovery (a tick will apear)
    8. Press Ok, then Apply on the Network section and close the window.
    9. Relaunch iTunes and see if it connects
    Hopefully it works for you.
