Stuck with ical upgreading

I tried connecting my ical to icloud and it is now upgreading for a fay and i cann't get it to stop. I wan't to install mavericks and it will not isnce the ical application is open and doen't close. I tried to force quit...to shut down...none works...HELP!!!!

I'm having a similar problem. I have the same iPod it sounds like as captainraoul. Yesterday I uploaded new songs to the iPod and when I tried to listen to it today, there weren't any songs on the iPod. When I plugged the iPod into my iBook, iTunes froze and I had to force quit. Since then my iPod screen is displaying a cd with a magnifying glass on the screen. When I try to plug it in to restore the iPod my laptop doesn't recognize it.
Please help.

  • Stuck with iCal under Mavericks

    Since I installed Mavericks and since Apple obliges us to now sync through iCloud (as if all the planet had 100% secure and fast internet), I am stuck with iCal that keeps "Moving calendars to server" and ends up in "Server responded 400 to the operation calDAVMigrateToServerQueueableOperation". Any on how to get out of this trap ? I tried to back up my calendars, erase them from iCal, erase them from iCloud, disconnet the accounts then reconnect, I am still stuck.

    Forget it... eventually the installer won and it finished up. I never had a chance to reply to that dialog and I guess I didn't need to.

  • 2.1 iPhone Calendar does not sync with iCal

    iPhone 3G 2.1, MacbookPro Leopard 10.5.5, iTunes 8.0 all upgraded this week.
    Now, entries that I make from the iPhone will not sync to the iCal, however, entries from iCal syncs to the iPhone just fine. I tried restoring to stock Apple's 2.1 ipsw but it fails to restore every time so I'm stuck with the Pwnaged one I made using Apple's stock 2.1 ipsw and Pwnage 2.1.
    Anyone experiences this problem with stock 2.1 or Jailbroken 2.1 ?
    Or could it be 10.5.5.'s iCal problem ? (the rss symbol next to my first calendar on iCal is substituted with a warning sign

    Ok,
    I figured it out. It is not a bug after all. Somehow I got duplicate calendars in my iCal from multiple backups, so by deleting the duplicates, the original ones appear. So the items been syncing all along, but I just didn't get to see it, since I was looking at the duplicate calendar.

    I own a Motorola KRZR K1m (Sprint), which is supposedly supported by iSync 2.4. This seems to be a troublesome phone in regard to compatibility with iSync. If you read the iSync discussions, you will see many problems. Those that do get iSync to accept the KRZR as "supported" seem to still have problems with iCal in particular. Evidently, there are some system hacks available to force the sync to work with iCal. If you are not comfortable with getting inside files and re-writing code, then you may not be a happy camper.
    Naturally, if you have access to a Windows machine, you will have no problem. (... Getting ready to duck, since that last statement will draw out all the Apple apologists and Apple-employee-wannabes ...)
    Personally, I have had no success getting iSync to recognize my KRZR at all. While I can transfer files via bluetooth, the iSync issues make me wish I had some other phone. In fact, the iSync/KRZR issues are probably going to lead me to change to another (known to be supported) phone. Since I'm stuck with Sprint, that won't be easy.

  • What's happened with iCal - all entries duplicated!

    What is happening with iCal? Suddenly it's duplicated every event in my calendars on my iMac - and the Mobile Me version seems stuck - I can't click through the days there.
    I've seen other posts on this, but I'd like to ask if anyone else has experienced this since "upgrading" their calendars as I was prompted to do yesterday.
    Automatic synching is OFF in Mobile Me prefs - my synchs are initiated manually (and I didn't initiate one before the duplication occurred).
    Secondly, does anyone know how to remove these duplicates in one go - I can't trawl through 8 years of bloated calendars removing the duplicates!

    I can answer my own question about how to remove the duplicates: I unticked/unchecked the calendars in the Mobile Me list in the left column.
    I've turned off all synching for the time being - Mobile Me and iCal seem to be causing some severe problems for some unfortunate users who have lost all their data. Makes duplicated data a luxury.

    You will be able to get your mail on the PowerBook. The calendars (iCal) will not sync; any events added to iPad and/or iPhone will not sync with the Mac but will sync with each other (that is: the mobile devices which are on iCloud). My  MacBook Pro (Lion) and iPad2 (iOS5) sync fine; I still get my Mail on iBook G4, MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard) and iMac (Snow Leopard).

  • Outlook 2011 no longer syncing with iCal and contacts

    I have installed Yosemite recently on my Macbook Pro. I run MS Outlook 2011 for professional reasons. Until now, syncing with my Android phone worked (almost) fine, using a nice app called SyncMate. For a few days now (not sure it is linked to installing Yosemite though) new data on my outlook calendar and address book no longer appear on my phone after syncing. After checking I realized that Outlook is actually not syncing any more with iCal and Contacts, so of course the syncing with the phone cannot work. How can I resolve this ?

    hi all.
    new user here trying to tighten things up over here.
    can anyone advise me as to whether there is a way to do this with iCal? i'd like to have a folder like this so i can see it easily on my various external backup drives and basically know very quickly how recent the update is that i am looking at.
    also, is there a lot more to iCal than simply keeping my calendars updated and synce and possibly posted to the web or shared with others or whatever? i am loving the sync ability and the sonorous alerts but i am wondering if i can/need to read up on additional functionalities in iCal that keep me organized.

    It's not clear what tool you are using to automate the process.
    At least one of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports Desktop Scheduling tools listed at: http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html provides that functionality.  It allows you to use Crystal Reports fields or formulas to dynamically set the export file path and name.

  • I followed all the directions to get Norton 360 to work with Firefox 8, but nothing works. I love Firefox, but if my Norton 360 won't work with it I'll be stuck with IE, which I do not like. Please Help Me!

    I followed all the directions to get Firefox 8 to work with my Norton 360, but nothing has worked. Is there anything else I can do? I didn't know there was an issue when I first upgraded to Firefox 8 so didn't choose the Norton plug ins immediately so I uninstalled Firefox hoping to be able to do it correctly when I Downloaded it again. Unfortunately it didn't ask me any thing regarding Norton so I went to Plug ins as directed to Enable Norton 360's plug ins, but none were listed.
    What can I do now? I LOVE Firefox! If we can't make it work I'll be stuck with Internet Explorer which I do not care for at all!
    I need to have Norton Security to protect my computer. Please help me find a solution to this problem ASAP.

    Hi Susie, I use Norton 360 and have the latest Firefox 8 installed is working fine for me. Firefox 8 support for [http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-8-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/581640 Norton Toolbar] was released on Nov 8th. Install the appropriate add-ons based on the version of Norton 360 you're using (see official Norton link above). Hope this helps.

    Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
    The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
    Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.

    If they were put there via iTunes sync process, then simply untick the Music box before syncing again.

    No, the camera connection kit only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, it doesn't support copying content off the iPad. For your second camera instead of the SD reader part of the kit, does the iPad to camera cable not work with it for direct transfer to the iPad ?
    For Lightroom and Nikon software again no - you can only install apps that are available in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app on the iPad, 'normal' PC and Mac (OS X) software are not compatible with the iPad (iOS). There are some apps that perform fairly basic editing functions that are available in the store, but nothing as sophisticated as, for example, Lightroom.

    Last night I tried to download an app over wi-fi onto my iPad Air, but the app did not install.
    I have plenty of space (the app is 24.1mb, I have 3.4gb free space) and there are no restrictions whatsoever on my iPad - no blocks on App store purchases, no age-related restrictions, no country restrictions etc.
    Normally from the App Store page you would tap the price (in this case the app was free), enter your iTunes password, and the app would download.
    Also a new icon appears on the home screen and a circle shows the progress of the download.
    However this did not happen.
    Instead I have the Cloud icon (the one that shows when you have bought an app but it is not currently installed on your device) and a message that says "You've already purchased this, so it will be downloaded now at no additional cost".
    If I press OK I am then prompted to enter my iTunes password, the Cloud symbol briefly changes to a circle (and I mean for a split-second, like the blink of an eye) and then the Cloud symbol appears again.
    The app does not download - in fact it does not even *attempt* to download.
    I have tried this >20 times now and it always occurs excatly like this.
    After Googling this problem (which seems common) and reading over a dozen threads on this forum plus Apple's own official support pages, this is what I've tried:
    I can re-download other apps that I have previously purchased on this iPad, with no problems.
    I purchased another app on my iPhone 5 and was then able to download onto my iPad with no problems.
    I have reset my iPad >5 times - both by pressing/holding the home/power buttons, and also a full switch off and restart.
    I have logged out of my iTunes account on the iPad, and logged back in.
    The wi-fi is Virgin Media fibre optic broadband with a verified speed of 20 meg (confirmed by Speedtest) plus an 802.11-n Belkin router and my iPad will happily load web pages, stream videos on YouTube, download other apps etc.
    I have reset/rebooted my internet connection
    In an attempt to eliminate by broadband connection from the possible causes, I have switched off my router, linked my iPad to the hotspot feature on my iPhone and tried to download the app over cellular data, but still cannot download the app.
    I have tried on 2 other wi-fi networks but still cannot download this one app.
    My iTunes account has a cerdit balance from an iTunes card, but the app was free anyway
    Nothing I try will download the app in question.
    The app is iPad only, so I cannot install on my iPhone to try and kick-start the process.
    I guess I could install the app on my computer and then sync the iPad, but that's *working around* the problem - it's not *fixing* the problem.
    (Since getting the iPad I use almost never use my computer. And anyway what if I did not have a computer? Didn't iOS go "PC-free" with version 5?)
    I would like to call Apple but my 90-day telephone support has expired (the iPad is around 6 months old) and I don't want to buy Apple Care for this one problem.
    I can't make it to an Apple Store to speak to a Genius.
    Bearing in mind the list of things I've already tried, what do I do next?

    No need to apologize, I actually found the phrase "If your iPad ever craps the bed" amusing under the circumstances
    I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
    While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
    I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.
