I have a Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT with 512 megs of RAM and Nvidia drivers 301.32, a intel quad core 9550, 8 gigs of ram. I believe they are the latest beta. I've had this freezing/studdering video issue with Flash player for a while now and finally decided to find an answer. It's very annoying. I can play any other video format fine I just have this issue with flash based media.

Is this also happening with the released Nvidia drivers? Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration to see if this makes any impact?
How do I disable or enable hardware acceleration?

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Why is it that when I am trying to install an adobe product, I get 33% of the way through and then it gives me an error "unable to load metafile"?? It happened with Reader and now with Flash player. With the Reader, I was able to find a different installation link using the troubleshooting guide. I cannot find the same with flash player. Please tell me how to install Flash player because there is a website that I cannot even view without it. BTW That is annoying that I cannot even see the website without flash player

Laptop Restarts randomly and Freezes with graphic errors
Hello,
I've been having some strange issues with my computer and would like some help with determining the cause.
It will do the following:
1. Restart randomly. Screen goes dark and immediately jumps to the Toshiba screen that is seen when the system starts
2. System will freeze, leaving screen with green lines over what it was originally showing.
3. System occasionally has Blue Screen Of Death instead of number 1.
Note: Both of these errors happen regardless of the system's heat and my McAffe full scan returned no results (over 20 hours of scanning). Using the system in safe mode causes these errors to stop, I think. In doing so, I was able to complete such
a long scan when my computer was otherwise in a fit of its restarting "bouts."

Purchased 2 years ago. First error stated a year ago, second half a year ago.
Here is a link to my system and application log files for the last 24 hours. Note that I had error 1 at 7:58pm Wednesday march 12, 2014 and error 2 at 8:03 pm Wednesday march 12, 2014. From researching these problems I found that these logs would show
issues, but I am not sure how to interpolate them. Could someone help me with what they are indicating is the problem or what I need to look at that would indicate the problem?

You have quite a few issues and the log file is over 100,000 entries. It might be a good idea to clear these logs once in a while.
In my first glance at this you have two active Malware applications and that in itself can cause freezes and crashes.
They both should be removed and MSE should be used in their place. This may fix the problem. If it doesnt please clear your event viewer logs and upload the following.
Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post
We do need the actual DMP file as theyvcontain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
We prefer at least 2 DMP files to spot trends and confirm the cause.

Export epub note problem and freeze with big books
(Excuses for my English... I'm not native English speakir)
When I'm mailing a note that i made in a epub book on my iPad, I only get the note and the chapter but not a quote of the text what note is about. (not very useful)
When I export the same note from ibook on mac os X mavericks the text what the note is about is quoted when exporting/mailing.
What am I doing wrong on my iOS device??
Also when iBooks is very slow with rendering the index of example: the bible (>600 chapters). This book has so many chapters when opening the index it seems to freeze and when loaded (after a min or something) you can scroll down but when you are on 3/4 of the index it start stutter.
(it also should make drop-down menu's but that's a total other thing). It makes it un-usable :-( (are people seeing the same problem with big books, (with a lot of chapters)?)
I contacted the auteur of the book but they say, it is iBooks. We can't help you... Apple do not support epub correctly.
I'm using the new version of ibooks 3.2 on iOS 7 ipad Air.

Hitting the "Resume" button once the index has been displayed also freezes for a long period.

i have the current os x, and i am having trouble with my safari, mail, and dashboard performing very slow (not a consistent issue, but happens frequently) or freezing or shutting down. i read various discussions and tried the helpful tips, but i am not familiar with the ins and outs of a mac. i fear i might have done things wrong or worse that i have downloaded something that is frying my mac. (previously, i have download several applications that i didn't check out first, also realized for several months now that i didn't have my firewall on.)
i tried the disk utility maintenance. i ran the "verify disk permissions", and the list that was compiled in the window is as follows,

Regarding your performance problems, I'd use the Activity Monitor utility. Launch it, then set the list at the top to "All Processes". Click on the "CPU" column heading to put the highest CPU consumers at the top of the list. Leave the program running while you're using your Mac. If you encounter problems with performance, check the Activity Monitor window to see if there are particular processes consuming a lot of CPU time. If you see something possibly interesting but don't know how interpret it, post the details here and someone should be able to offer advice. -
Ipad and iphone stops typing and freezes with ios8
My iphone and iPad will freeze and stop typing and is laggy sometimes when typing into text boxes in safari with IOS 8 never had this issue till upgrading my ios. I have tried restoring my ipad and still getting the same result. I have the iphone 5s and ipad air. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is anybody else having this issue? Is one of the bugs of the IOS8 system?
I have this same problem, and I've seen a trigger. When I am completing a form in Safari, when I type the first 2 characters of one of my 3 character Keyboard Shortcuts, Safari will freeze. It's as if Safari is trying to anticipate that I am ready to type the 3rd character, which would then trigger the Auto Complete of the Keyboard Shortcut that I've setup. But since Safari freezes upon the second character, Auto Complete is not triggered.

If reinstalling the updater doesn't fix things, hereb are some other troubleshooting recommendations:
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Continuous blocks of the keyboard , slow applications , safari crash frequently.
Is not possible to have a similar bad situation.

I don't have a words...When you say restore with iTunes do you mean "restore to Factory"? A simple restore does not replace the iOS image. A restore to Factory will reload the iOS software..
When you experience keyboard lags these are likely caused by a high priority system activity which is abnormally constantly running. This could be being provoked by some app you are using. -
Hangs and freezes with low CPU and RAM load.
I have a Macbook Pro (13 inch mid 2012) and I have an issue with slow responses and hangs, especially when using Finder. I have done all of the software troubleshooting that I can think of including Disk Utility (verify and fix permissions, verify and repair disk). I’ve tried safe boot and AHT. All returned a healthy result, but the hangs still continued. The CPU load is less than 5% during these hangs and the RAM pressure is low. There is 100+ GBs of free space on the Hard Drive.
I used Time Machine to backup my data and I went to the Genius Bar. The representative concluded that it was a bad Hard Drive despite the results from the before mention Disk Utility. I thanked him and decided to install a new 840 EVO SSD myself.
I booted using the External Hard Drive that contained my Time Machine backup. I formatted and partitioned the SSD using GUID and Extended Journal. I selected to restore the Time Machine backup, but it failed. I do not remember the details of the restore failure since it occurred at 2 a.m. Frustrated, I decided to do a fresh install of Mavericks and restore my data using Migration Assistant at a later date.
Now I have a new SSD and a freshly installed OS and the problem is the same. What else could be the cause of these hangs and beach balls? A faulty SATA cord? Faulty Logic Board?
Thank you for your time.If the only thing that you have installed on the SSD is the OSX and NOTHING else, then that indicates a hardware problem. Run the Apple Hardware Test, twice if you have the patience - the extended version. Note an error free AHT is not definitive.

As a matter of procedure I also would boot into the recovery partition and run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify, Repair and Permissions.
If there is no change, then another appointment at an Apple store genius bar will have to be scheduled.
I know that much if this is what you have already done, but the point here is to clearly eliminate as many possibilities before a genius bar appointment so that they can focus on other potential problem areas.
I am assuming this is a consistent and constant situation that will be repeated at an Apple store. If it is intermittent, that can be most difficult to diagnose.

This is beyond frustrating. I just wasted 70 dollars between a new battery and gas for my ipod 80gb classic. It was having major issues syncing and freezing with itunes. I tried everything possible and noticed that a lot of people have been having the same issues with their ipod classics as well. I must have restored it several times and now it just totally bit the dust. Now I have to shell out 130 dollars to send it in to apple to be rebuilt/fixed. This is nonsense and I just cant believe apple isn't doing anything to address this issue. My ipod was doing great for about nearly 5 years and now this. I even down-graded to itunes 10.7, but by the time I had it set up to try, that's when my ipod totally failed and will not even come on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -
ITunes movie freezes and skips with VGA out to projector

I have rented several movies on iTunes and can watch them onscreen no problem. When I used the VGA dongle to source the screen to an external projector, however, the movie gradually began to skip and freeze, with up to half a second pause between frame updates. Rebooting did not change this; however, after pulling out the adapter and just watching it onscreen, the movie was fine.
Has anyone else had this problem? And any idea what I can do about it?this is probably because of the low processor, and integrated graphics. the Macbook pro has a graphics card that helps process the images, while the MBA relies on the processor to control graphics.
The video isn't smooth because of the slow processor. -

if you hardware test passes..then problem could be your OS.
make backup of your DATA like photos, files etc and then make your system to an factory default settings..

I ca not install Itunes 10.5 on vista or windows 7 my iPhone 4 is much slower and freezes and also certain apps and also certain features will not work on the phone now that I cannot update it to ios5. When I go to the store they turn me away with my laptops and tell me to buy there computer that's the only answer. I know there has to be away around it? I am also up for a new upgrade on my second phone line and was going to get a 4s but now I am thinking it may be the wrong choice I am very unhappy with Apple right now...

Missing Files after Lion Upgrade
After upgrading to Lion I am missing files from a folder named "printers" I had created. The previous os used a "printer" folder but not "printers". It seems as if the Lion operating system deleted the existing folder and placed new files in there.
