Student iTunesU course not updating after the teacher updates course.

A student mentioned that he was unable to see updates made on the course by the teacher on his iPad. Any suggested fixes or solutions to this?

After tapping into a course, tap "Materials" at the bottom of the screen; a gear menu appears in the upper right. Tapping the gear menu pops up a menu. Ensure that the student has enabled Subscription (and probably "Auto Download" as well).

    That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

    Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
    Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
    Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Ok, back to the issue at hand, the Prof. is right. In none of the OP's participation, nor in any of his choir of followers save mommy power is there the least hint of what Apple product is failing. While y'all get a move on and disgorge the details, may want to try a Safe Boot. Hold down the Shift key prior to the startup chime and wait awhile. IF it starts, then it means you have some third-party software that's causing the problem. Else there's a strong probability a complete reinstall will occur in your near future.
    In the future and in spite of what some purists may say, be sure to service the system disk BEFORE patching. By "service" I mean booting up the Mac using your Install DVD (Snow Leopard or priors) or booting in Recovery Mode (Command R, in the Lions and successors), running the Disk Utility found in that mode and doing a Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions. Until NO errors show up. Cause patching up an already damaged system will only make things worse.

    I've updated iphone, ipad air and ipad 4 to ios 8 and apple tv 3 (1469) to newest version (7?).
    After that it's absolutely a disaster.
    Mostly I using the apple tv for music streaming, sometimes for mirroring...
    But it can not be found, I can not select the apple tv on ios devices because it is not there!
    The airplay symbol comes after swiping the menu up after approx. 1 sec and theres only the Denon Cocoon to selcet but not the apple tv.
    The same on the iMac I can not choose the apple tv directly from the top bar for mirroring and not in itunes for music streaming (but the Cocoon is there), and this altough the imac is also via ethernet on the same router, no wlan connection is required for streaming in this case.
    The apple tv is connected by ethernet to the router and I see in the router menu that the apple tv is connected to the internet.
    I did a hard-reset but this did not help.
    I've tried also with blutooth on or off and rebootet the ios devices.
    From time to time one of the different devices shows the apple tv...this morning for example after I turn blutooth on at the iphone and waited 30 seconds, it was there and it worked - sometimes on device shows the apple tv without blutooth and if I connect, nothing happen and the music starts on the device itself.
    If I start the apple tv via remote, everything is fine, I find it at all devices including the imac!
    If I managed it to start the music streaming with an device (as written, from time to time it works) the apple tv is avaible on all other devices.
    For me theres no question that theres a bug in the new apple-tv software (because I can not find it on the imac as well, otherwise I would think the bug is in ios 8).
    It is not possible to wake up the apple tv via airplay from sleep mode, I think that is the problem - if I turn off the sleep mode everything is fine.

    I have and Ipad  Model A1458 and serial number DMPJVX72F183  I did the last update 8.1 and since then I can not get it to work. The apple icon comes on then fades and then comes back then fades , this continues until I turn it off or the battery run died. I tried the reset but that did not work. Any suggestion?

    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

    I had a yahoo mail account linked to the e-mail service that comes with the galaxy s3. It worked fine. Now all it does is repeatedly notify me that sign in has failed. I have retyped in the account name and password numerous times.

    I have also tried to remove the account from the phone, it does nothing when i click remove account.

    There is a problem with Yahoo Mail and the JellyBean update (4.1.1). I updated my Galaxy S3 yesterday from Ice Cream Sandwich to JellyBean and Yahoo Mail no longer automatically notifies me when new Yahoo mail arrives (Gmail still works fine though). I have Yahoo Mail configured in the phone's email client - the shortest auto-sync period available is 1 week!
    I spent the whole day trying to get the phone's built-in email client to work with Yahoo Mail like it did before the upgrade with no luck.
    The only way I get my Yahoo mail is to use the separate "Y! Mail" app, from Google's App Store, and check it periodically... that's a workaround, but I miss the auto-notification I had with ICS.

    Can I clear the update list, it is getting full, from all the updates. It say open only when I do it is still there.  Help please.

    Easiest way to clear list is; go to settings>general>date and time and set date manually to a point at least one month in the future (I set mine to two months ahead) and then open App Store and check for updates. The list should now be clear. This is just an update history list. When finished just turn on auto date/time or set it back manually if you like and list should still be clear. If you do nothing the updated apps should start to drop off the list in about two to three weeks.

    i've tried photobooth, ichat, skype and it doesn't show up anywhere. in fact, when i go to system profiler, it doesn't show isight under USB connections at all.
    just to give you a recap of what i've tried so far:
    * restarting (obviously)
    * resetting PRAM/SMC (by booting it the way it was specified in the isight troubleshooting thing)
    * just shutting down my computer and taking the battery out for several hours

    *A few suggestions.........*
    Try running repair permissions from your HD and afterwards run +repair disk+ from your software install DVD.

    To fix your iSight, shut down computer. Reboot in safe mode (press power button and then hold shift key down). After computer boots, restart again. Hopefully, your iSight will start working again.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
