Student Labview 5.0 or 5.1?

I understand that the current student version of Labview is 5.0 and it is
under consideration whether an upgrade will be made available to 5.1.
Should I go ahead a purchase the program now or wait until the 5.1 version
come out? I really don't need the software for about 2 weeks. I know it
doesnt sound like much money but I have to stretch every dollar possible.

Hello lizkingx,
I afraid there are no AP2700 drivers for LabVIEW 7.1. The driver exists for LabVIEW 8.2 because it uses the functionality of of this version. The drivers will not work on any version below LabVIEW 8.2.
You have two options you can request for a driver or you can make your own.
To request a driver click on this request a driver.
You could make your own driver using this make a labview driver.

  • PXI platform uninstall error 1612

When I was trying to interface a USB-6009 on labview 2012 (32bit), when I would go to the measurement and automation explorer, labview would crash and I would get an error, something to do with PXI, unfortunately I cannot remember and do to what I will explain it is not possible to recreate the error.
Instead of immediately posting on here I went ahead and tried to use the NI install/uninstall/repair utility to repair the system, to no avail. Then I decided to uninstall and reinstall everything, and I managed to uninstall everything but the PXI platform framework, (there are two applications related, I cannot see both). I get a "Error 1612 occurred. Would you like to continue this operation?" message, of course I select yes, and of course it doesn't do anything. So now I have a corrupted install, and I don't see any reason to try to reinstall with the corrupted PXI platform still installed, considering that is what was causing the problems in the first place. I have read elsewhere on this forum about a utility called "msiblast" (which sounds like a virus) that forces a clean uninstall, but cannot find any links to the download. I understand there are some risks involved, but at this point I need to get this to work.
On top of all this, I have a project due this Thursday that relies on labview, so I need to get this fixed ASAP. Since I am a student using a student labview license, I cannot contact technical support directly. My only other option at this point that I can think of is to format the primary drive and install everything from scratch.
Also, some info that may be useful. There have been several major changes to my machine since labview and the DAQ were functioning correctly, as follows:
Cloned primary partition from a platter HDD to a new SDD, and labview was installed on the primary partition.
Installed a basic pci-e SATA controller to manage the optical drive (needed due to the HDD array using all the mobo SATA ports).
Did an upgrade install from Windows 7 64bit to Windows 8 64bit.
I can see any and all of these causing the problem somehow, but I believe I was on the correct path to try to do a clean install of labview and all associated software, even though I was unsuccessful.
    Thanks in advance!

     Hi kelly.o1
I found the error that you are getting in the NI KnowledgeBase, here is the link the information.

  • Generated Pulse for Speedy-33

Is it possible to have my speedy-33 generate a pulse and analyze it? With the computer as my target I can generate a pulse and perform an FFT analysis on it. However, it seems that the speedy-33 doesn't support it. Am  I right about that, or is there a way around this problem while still using the speedy-33 as my target? If so, I would greatly appreciate the advice.
    Thank you.

If you are a student, LabVIEW is free. I am not sure what additional modules or toolkits you need, though. What are you currently using?
(See here It is for 6 month at a time, but renewable as long as you remain a student).
(If you are no longer a student, the new LabVIEW home bundle version is $50.)
EDIT: It seems you need the DSP module, which is not included in the above LabVIEW versions.

  • On how many computer can i install labview student edition?

I intend to purchase labview student edition in a near future, and i was wondering on how many computer may i install it. All for personnal use. I currently have 2 desktop, and one laptop. But I will soon get a surface 2 pro and my laptop start to be old so I will also replace it soon, and I was wondering if I could get the student version work on all those.

If you are a student, you can get a renewable 6 month license for free here. no need to purchase anything.
As for the number of computers you can install it, you need to read the Software Agreement. Look for section G(1). The software can be installed on up to three computers but can be used only on a single computer at any given time. If you get a new computer, just deactivate on the computer to be retired and activate on the new computer.

  • Error 1935 when Installing LabVIEW 8.6 Student Edition

    Hi,
I'm trying to help my son get the disks installed that came with his Circuits textbook.  It is installing the student edition of LabVIEW 8.6 and getting an error, error 1935 to be exact, when trying to install the CVI package.  The system is a 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium OS.  Looking over these boards it looks like this error can be generated because of Anti-virus issues and .NET 2.0 issues.  I think I have disabled all the various anti-virus programs and I've installed the latest full version of .NET 4.0 and am still getting the error.
Attached is a screenshot of the error message.

    Hi faidlar,
This is usually caused by a firewall or so on the system. Please see this KnowledgeBase.

  • How is the LabVIEW 7.1 Student Edition delivered?

I recently requested LabVIEW 7.1 Student Edition for use with the NXT from http://digital.ni.com/express.nsf/bycode/lvtoolkitlego.  A email was sent saying that labVIEW would be shipped.  Does anyone know about how this works?
Message Edited by RHPGuy on 07-22-2007 10:32 PM

Well, after the three weeks that NI said it would take to ship, I called them up. The request never got through.  They shipped it to me overnight.

  • New VI function token in Labview Student Edition

    All experts out there,
This VI mod_qam transmitter.vi token is not available in Student edition. How can i be able to create/find one? I am not able to search one in the Function Seach option.
My objective is to create a M-ary QAM communication system and i am currently using the following vi:
    1) MT Create System Parameters
    2) MT Modulate QAM
    and others.
From the look of the VI token, it seem that the token is not from the library.
    Please kindly advice.

  • How to download LabVIEW 11 Student Edition for OS X

I received my activation number for LabVIEW 11 Student Edition by email for participating in an online lecture and solving a problem.
In the email there was no link to download the software.
Where can I find a download link for LabVIEW 11 Student Edition for OS X?

    Hi,
I will try to go through it with you and I believe we will find a solution.
The 2011 version of LabVIEW for OS X is no longer available from this link, a new version was released in the meantime. First I'd like to try to get a new version to you. Can you please check whether you can't get the serial number for the new version as well? Usually these student versions are available for free.
In the worst case I will upload you the old installer on the FTP.

  • Undergrad Students: Co-Op position available using LabVIEW

    To Whom It May Concern:
It is good to see the recent posts about LabVIEW jobs, and we have a Co-
Op position available using LabVIEW. I recently posted a similar message
to the info-LabVIEW mailing list, and someone there recommended I also
    post to comp.lang.labview.
Along those lines, we have a Co-Op position available that involves a
substantial amount of LabVIEW programming. We are looking for a EE or
computer engineering student (we aren't locked into those majors, but
they are typical of previous students), to begin work in the term
    starting in January 2001.
    About the Co-Op position:
This is a cooperative education position, where students typically
alternate terms of school with terms of work experience, usually for
three terms of each. Sometimes students co-op for less than three terms,
but we prefer to have someone who can commit to three terms. Thus they
get a four year degree in five years, including one year (total) of work
    experience.
In my previous post to the info-LabVIEW list I received a great deal of
interest from international students, but our co-op program is such that
we are only considering students who already reside in the USA. Also, if
non-resident, you must be approved for work for a year or less in the
    USA.
    About the work:
Mostly LabVIEW programming, 50%-75% of the time, on custom software used
to control our in-house measurement systems. This is on Macs and PC's,
and involves GPIB and DAQ programming. The remaining time will be spent
    on number crunching/data analysis.
    About the company:
Corning Cable Systems (formerly Siecor) is a subsidiary of Corning, Inc.,
and is a major manufacturer of fiber optical cable. The Co-Op position is
in the Research, Development, and Engineering division, located in
Hickory, NC. Hickory is in central NC, about one hour north of Charlotte
and one and one- half hours east of Asheville. Hickory is also the home
of our corporate headquarters and two of our manufacturing plants. We
also have manufacturing plants in Texas, Canada, Mexico, PR, and in
    Europe.
RD&E develops new cable designs to meet customer requirements, and tests
these cables under various physical and environmental conditions to see
that they meet or exceed industry standards before putting these designs
into production. The majority of our RD&E test and control software is
    written in-house using LabVIEW.
For more info, please email me directly.

  • Getting the labview 8.6 pid toolkit to work with labview 8.5 student edition

Hi I am working on a project for college,I just bought the labview pid toolkit 8.6 but it wont load as i use labview 8.5 student edition,am i stuffed or can i get a version to work with my edition and send this one back??hat is the best thing to do?
I am badly stuck please help.I cant afford to pay for an upgrade to 8.6?
    Thanks

You could try to do a File->Save for Previous Version on the PID VIs that you want to use.  However,
if one of the PID subVIs was saved without a block diagram then this
won't work. Also, I'm not sure if the toolkit is backwards compatible
in this way. Also, when you do this you will effectively be saving the
VI hierarchy into a new location.
However, your best bet (and my recommendation) is to contact your local NI sales rep to see if they can get you a CD with the 8.5 version. Since you have a license for the toolkit it's probably not going to be an issue.

  • SDK Function Error While Installing LabVIEW Student 2010

    Hello everyone,
I am trying to install LabVIEW Student Edition 2010 on Windows 7 64-bit. I get SDK function error. I searched the knowledgebase questions but it seems the problem is mostly for 2008 versions or older. If anyone knows the solution to this, it would be of great help. Thank you.

  • Ni-imaq and labview student

I'm new to using labview.  I'm wondering if ni-imaq and vision acquisition software is compatible with labview student edition?  I have tried to download ni-imaq 4.6.4 to my laptop and was not successful.  I also tried to save vi's from school load them to no luck.

Reading your description, it sounds like you are having problems downloading. That should not depend on whatever you have installed on the PC. Could it be you are having problems installing? Please be very specific!

  • How close can I come to Realtime with Labview student edition and an Arduino project?

    Hey everyone,
I'm really new to Labview and just recieved the Labview 2012 student edition and I plan to do a project. It came to my concern that after asking the Labview interface for arduino forums, they suggested that it cannot provide realtime. My project in generalwill consist of two arduinos, one with many sensors close to 30 and the second will have many actuators. My question is whether I can come to develop a realtime crucial system or fast processing speeds. Please provide any input.Your time and responses are much appreciated.

    MustafaMX5 wrote:
Thanks for replying, but if I may ask, are you implying that when the arduino is programmed it will run in realtime, however when labview interfaces with it isn't. Then if so would you suggest I just program the arduino and then monitor the system using Labview as my GUI.Lastly say I had the two arduinos already programmed with sensors and actuators and they communicate independently without labview, would labview impede on this time critical system.
     Thanks A Lot
Anything on a Windows machine is not real-time.  The micro on the arduino is.  You can still program in communications between the micro and LabVIEW and not impede on the real-time operation.  It will take some cycles away, but probably not enough to worry.

  • MathScript and LabVIEW Student Edition (Mac OS X version)

    Hi,
Am I right in thinking that in order to "import" or run Matlab .m files in a LabVIEW VI, I need to use the Mathscript feature?
I have LabVIEW 8.5.1 Student edition installed on Mac OS X 10.4.11 and can't find the Mathscript feature anywhere in the functions pallet - do I need to install something else in order to get this?
    Thanks for the help.

    Hello,
The support for Mathscript on a Mac OS X 10.4 (and higher) for Intel-based machine (only) is available for version 8.6. That is the reason you can't find this in previous versions.
    Hope this helps,
