Student Non Commercial Licence
hi, i want to use Non commerical Licence for After effects for free, i just intend to learn how to use it.... i am a High school student, is there any way i can get it? on the website it lets you buy a commercial licence for students and teachers, i dont need a commercial licence. thanks!
Depending on the country you're in, Academic licenses to Adobe software may or may not restrict usage to non-commercial use. But Adobe don't offer any of their major applications in any free form, other than 30 day free trials.

Hi,
Whenever I start any of my microsoft programs I get an error message stating "non-commercial use, not licenced product" and I cannot do anything in the programs. I havve the Home and Business 2013 version.
My husband bought the office programs for his and my computer and so they are both registered to his name however my email is the login, I dont know if this is relevant.
How do I fix this?Hi,
Based on your description, several possibilities come to my mind.
1. You mentioned your husband bought the Office Suite for you, did he purchase one product key or two? We need to confirm if the product key can be installed on multiple machines, if a product key can be only installed once and he installed it
on his computer first, you should purchase a new product key to activate your Office.
Since the policy differs in different areas, to confirm how many machines the product key can be installed on, let your husband ask the retailer or contact the local customer service to get the answer:
http://support2.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-us
2. Please confirm your Office version. Based on the message "non-commercial use", I found this kb:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937676/
But it's for Office Home and Student instead of Office Home and Business, we can perform the steps below to find the Microsoft Software License Terms:
1. Start and Office program.
2. On the File (Backstage) tab, click Account.
3. Click About (Product name: Word, Excel etc..), in the window that opens, click
View the Microsift Software License Terms link.
3. If your Office is a trial version or the product key is not for the version that you are using, consider to uninstall it first, and install the appropriate version. You can probably get the installation media from your husband.

Outlook Pro 2007 'Non-Commercial Use Only' issue
I have outlook 2007 that states that it is for 'non-commercial use only'
I have searched far and wide for the answer but to find nothing.
There was no upgrade from 2003/home/student. Just straight OS load, Office Pro 2007 load. They did tell me that after 'something' happened it started to show that. So it has been not showing that for months, maybe years, until about 2 months ago. They can't
tell me what that 'something' was because they can't remember.
It seems to me that the only way is to reload the PC completely. We are running a KMS and in a company of 1500 PCs about 3% are having this issue. Very small but enough for me to get a call about it.
Please dont tell me:
That I had Home&Student - I dont
To do repairs/uninstall/reinstall - I have 30x
To do reg edits - Reg shows that the Product ID is correct and there are no 9.0/11.0 containers
To deal with it - We have programs that use Outlook and are affected
Tp check updates - Uninstalled as far back as they can remember when it started (2012)
Don't link this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2020690/en-us
Sorry about being kind of straight forward and mean but I'm bashing my head trying to figure this out. I rather not reload 40+ PC just for this issue.Who are "they"?
Have you verified that the correct key has been used, the Office client can renew the key via the KMS, sufficient keys/licenses are available on the KMS (depending on your licensing method) and that no unlicensed Office 2007 components are installed?
You can use the "cscript ospp.vbs" commands to further narrow things down.
For instance with:
cscript ospp.vbs –act
cscript ospp.vbs –dhistory
Also note that SP3 and later updated haven't been applied yet.

I open Microsoft word and it doesn't let me do anything and it has a grid on it. It says non-commercial use, how do i take it off?
Hi,
Do you have Home and Student Version of Office?
When you start a Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 or 2007 program, the title bar of the program displays the name of the program followed by "non-commercial use." For example, Microsoft Office Excel 2007 displays "Microsoft
Excel non-commercial use" or "Book1 - Microsoft Excel non-commercial use."
Cause:
The "non-commercial use" text is based on the Microsoft Software License Terms for Office Home and Student 2010 or 2007 products.
In the Microsoft Software License Terms, the "non-commercial use" text identifies the use of the product. You may install one licensed copy of the software on three devices in your household. The software is not licensed for any commercial business
activities, nonprofit business activities, or revenue-generating business activities.
To find the Microsoft Software License Terms, follow these steps, as appropriate for your situation.
Office Home and Student Office 2013
Start and Office program.
On the File (Backstage) tab, click Account.
Click About (Product name: Word, Excel etc..),
in the window that opens, click View the Microsift Software License Trems
link.
Office Home and Student Office 2010
Start any Office program.
On the File (Backstage) tab, click Help.
On the right side under Microsoft Office, click the
Microsoft Software License Terms link.
Office Home and Student Office 2007
Start Excel, Word 2007, PowerPoint, or Access.
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click <var>Program_Name</var> Options.
On the Resource tab, click About.
Click View the Microsoft Software License Terms.

Any ideas? I really would like to make back up copies of this video event.
I have used this method before to copy non-commercial DVDs

Free, non-commercial java web site
Free, non-commercial java web site
I am creating a free, non-commercial web site http://www.myjavaserver.com/~hasstar
the purpose of this site is to display every thing (tips, tutorials, links, code, examples) I can and I know in java and also some other useful information other than java.
But the question is from where do I get the information and resources to display on my website?
Any one who have some resources or information or tips or tutorial or java links, and have no problem to share with me please give it to me . For this I can put a link to your website on my site or a small ad banner on my site.why are you creating a JSP resources page if you don't have any resources to put up on it????
make a "My Favourite TV Programmes" or "My Favourite Recipes" page instead. -

Mac App Store Non-Commercial users only? What about Lion for businesses?
When I read the Mac App Store agreement it indicates that the accounts are for 'non commercial' use. I supposed this was to stop companies purchasing an app and using 5 times at no extra cost.
If we want to download and install the Lion update on our company Macs how are we supposed to do this? The same goes for the Server component.
Further, I have used my own personal account to use a program in the office that I had purchased at home for playing quick games at lunch time, or for free apps like Twitter. Will these stop working if I have to create a company wide account just for Lion downloads?
Lastly, our internet connection speed is very poor due to our geographic location. Will we need to download Lion separately for each computer?
Sorry if Lion questions are a bit premature, but I'm trying to plan ahead.Apple is not actually here, just fellow Apple product users. Those business questions are probably best dealt with in a telephone call directly to Apple, either Apple HQ in Cupertino, CA, or at least the closest Apple Store.
Your games are for you to freely install on computers that you own and control personally. That would seem to include a company computer issued to you. What you should not do is start installing the games and apps on the computers of your colleagues. And you should remove the games and apps when you return the computer to your business.
You should be able to mix both company purchased software and your personal software while the computer is in your control, just remember that software can only be updated by the account through which it was purchased. So you would need to sign into your personal account to update your personal software on your company computer in your control.
The software that comes through the MAS at this point is the drag & drop variety, the kind that has normally come on a disk or you download a disc image and drag the app to your Applications folder. With the MAS the software is downloaded and placed in the Apps folder for you. These apps can be copied to the other computers you own or have in your control. You do not need to download them to each computer, although you may do that as well.
Apple has pretty much reserved more complicated installations for itself. Xcode downloaded as an Installer into the Applications folder. Lion will also come as an installer. The Installer does not have to be downloaded to each Mac, it can be copied to them over your local LAN or direct Ethernet or FireWire cable connections. Or burn to a disk. Then the Installer can be run to install Lion on each Mac. Based on your direct conversation with Apple regarding obtaining Lion for your business, you may also be able to create a common installation of Lion that you then clone to all of your company computers. -

Can't create disk image of non-commercial DVD
I am trying to create a disk image of a 3.7 Gb non-commercial DVD instructional video using disk utility.
I can only get about 70 per cent of the way through before the reading/writing of the DVD content freezes for a few minutes, and then I get the message:
"unable to create -- copy.cdr - input/output error."
I have tried repeatedly on both my MacBook and desktop Imac with no ability to clone an image of this DVD. (Same results when I try to do the same thing with Roxio Toast 8.)
Are there any workarounds or perhaps a method of determining definitively if the source DVD is copy-protected ? Otherwise, what is causing these repeated input/output errors ? ? ?I'm giving up on this particular DVD, not worth any more time tryin different permutations that al seem to fail.
I would have thought someone would have been able to write a software program that will copy ANY DVD --even one with errors in file names etc, since that's what copying routines are supposed to do. This DVD I am trying to copy plays just fine on the Mac, auto-starting DVD player when it is inserted and there are no problems wth either audio or video thru multiple chapters. So the disk can't be THAT bad if it is supposedly error-prone. and yet I get errors when trying to make a simple mirror image of this dame DVD. Go figure ????
If it has such terrible errors, why does it play fine on the Mac and on our living room DVD player as well ??
How do I copy it ??? - "errors" and all . Is there software that will ignore "errors" and just copy the darn thing errors and all ?
this is a very confusing business of too many conflicting standards I guess. -

ThanksYes, Oracle XE is the database that you can use as free not just for non-commercial but for commercial purpose as well. But if your requirement is jus to go for the non-commercial purpose, you can use even the Enterprise Edition too which comes along with the development license.
That said, any question related to licensing must be directed to Oracle's Sales and to your local sales rep.

Non-commercial developer licensing
Are there any plans for a non-commericial developers license
for FB3? Either one of those free-for-non-commercial-use/"express
version" deals or at least something relatively inexpensive for
individual developers (sub-$100's range)?
I'm in a situation where I think I'd like to use Flex for the
front end to a few at-home-hobby projects, but I'm not going to
shell out $500 or whatever for something that might not fit my
needs after I'm a few months into trying to use it. The 30 day
trial evaluation is nice, but it's not nearly long enough to make a
decision at the pace I'm going.
I would think that something like this would spread the
popularity of the technology more quickly, and even generate more
cash flow for Adobe. As an example, like many others, I'm in the
position to push for (or not push for) purchasing Flex Builder and
possibly the additional add-ons at work (a pretty large and well
known employer), but I'm not going to do so if I can't comfortably
and confidently say that it is worth the investment. I'd like to
support this technology and start becoming an advocate, but it's a
little difficult with the current situation the way it is.I
wholeheartedly concur. I have been experimenting with Flex
some on my free time, but I can only put in a little bit of time
here and there. Before I know it, 30 days is up. From the time I
had started with Flex2, and by the time I had enough time to really
devote to doing something with it, I'd run out of my trial. If the
demo actually clocked my usage and gave me 30 days of usage, that'd
be one thing, but even then $500 is a lot of money for what would
be for me an occasional use tool. I had a friend comment that $500
for what seemed to be primarly a GUI builder was a lot of money,
and I can agree. If I was solely a Flex guy, it'd be a non-issue,
but the door fee to get in and start checking out this club is
kinda stiff.
Alternatively, I'd love to see Flex bundled in a CS Web
Developer package similar to CS Web Standard, but with the addition
of Flex and maybe Cold Fusion, with a significant discount for
buying it that way. At least then I'm paying a bunch of money for a
whole suite of tools that I'm getting on the whole a decent amount
of use out of and I can justify the cost much easier then. -
Making a Quicktime movie clip from non-commercial DVD
I want to capture a five minute clip of video from a non-commercial (i.e. homemade) DVD and save as a Quicktime movie. How do I go about this?
You will need QuickTime Pro and the Viewer, both available for purchase from the Apple Store. One word of caution, when I try to pull video from my home-made DVDs, QT only play the first 2 to 6 seconds of the video that may be almost an hour long. I am trying to find a solution, but before I would recommend that you spend the $50 to purchase Pro and Viewer, I would wait until there is some resolution to this problem.

Stratus non-commercial Terms of Use
Dear Adobe advisers,
I would like to check whether a site like Chatroulette violates Stratus Terms of Use for non-commercial service.
Can Adobe clarify on 'non-commercial' use?
Or can a site like Chatroulette or other similar site use Stratus instead of LCCS?
Thanks in advanced.No reply?
There are dozen of Chatroulette-clone that uses Stratus.
Seems like "non-commercial" is up to one's own interpretation and Stratus is up to uses as one seems fit. -
Told Ya - Adobe caters for non-commercial cameras
I just had to come and say TOLD YA.
I've been investigating cs5.5
I've been watching Adobe TV
And YES, Adobe now caters for, encourages, welcomes, and teaches non-commercial users to use their products.
For years I’ve complained that Adobe didn’t have the codec’s/tools/features for real people using real off-the-shelf equipment. i said its an oversight at best, a serious business flaw at worst. Their advertising was most definitely all-inclusive, not just to 'professionals'. But their products were most lacking.
And here in the forums i kept being told how Adobe was for professionals only with professional tools, and reading further I saw the solution to almost every question was 'first use 3rd party software' to convert/clean/edit/standardise/etc.
So to all you 'professionals' i say HA.
IN YOUR FACE.
With cs5.5 you can use any off-the-shelf cameras (yes, including the seriously low budget/disposable stuff). No need for HD, extra codec packs, 3rd party expensive software. You don’t even need extra plugins (unless you are going for some speciality, obviously!)
So welcome One And All.
Abode's business planners are finally on the ball.Christian,
I agree completely. I do have a degree in film, but when I say "film," I really do mean FILM. Video was in its infancy back in those days, and was highly restricted to either live, on-air, with maybe a switcher in the chain, or went to 2" video tape, that was editable with a block and razor blade w/ tape. "ENG" was sill in the future. All I got was the concept of production, general editing (limited to film), some artistic background, and little more than the basics, related to what we see as digital video today. Still, would not trade those years for anything, even if much no longer applies.
In the middle of my career, I spent most days and nights doing stills for advertising, and jumped on digital image manipulation when it first hit. Before, we had been doing image compositing in the darkroom with some world-class gear, but with the limitations of analog compositing. Yeah, we had some sophisticated vacuum frames, a NASA lens, tons of lith film, emulsion stripping, dye and bleach work with a "one-hair brush," and some true artists and advanced technicians, but we were still limited. I saw one of the first Scitex demos in the US, and knew that I was looking at the future. After about a year with Aldus PhotoStyler, Photoshop hit for the PC, and I never looked back. However, even so armed, I was a firm believer that I needed to do everything possible in the creation of my images, and only use PS as a tool to get even closer to prefection. Back then, I was still shooting mostly 4 x 5 and some 8 x 10, and all of my Ektachrome had to be drum-scanned to get it into PS - there was not digital capture yet, though we DID experiment with an HP scanner (was my biggest client in those days) mounted onto one of our Cambo 8 x 10's. Let's just say that it was NOT a Leaf...
Like you, I maintain that it's about the image (or footage), and far, far less about the tools used. I have seen "art" created with an oatmeal box pin-hole camera.
Though I have not done a spreadsheet on it over the last 15 years, the image of mine, that has sold the most was a "happy snap" of my wife on a carousel horse at a long-since gone amusement park. It was done on a Sunday visit with an old Nikon F and an equally old Nikkor 105mm f/2.5. I was just shooting some family shots, but that one struck a chord with so many art directors, and has been used for selling all sorts of products and services. Probably need to pull out the invoices, as my Maroon Bells in Autumn might have passed it now. Still, I was not attempting to create art, but just record a family moment at the park and guess that I got lucky. My work on my BFA really had nothing to do with grabbing that shot.
Along the lines of the subject by the OP, I was a bit surprised to see that Adobe and Nokia have teamed up. It seems that most of that partnering is around Flash, but a bit has filtered over to PrPro. This came as a bit of a shock to me, but partnerships can create some odd bed-fellows. Who knows, we might see specific Nokia smart-phone video Presets in PrPro CS6?
Just thinking here,
Hunt
