Student version upgrade

Hello everyone,
Is it possible to upgrade a student version because 3.5 years ago I purchaged a labview student version and in the class we spent 2 whole hours  learning about Labview. After that time in didn't look back at it but at my internship a started using labview again and purshesed Labview 8.2 for the company I was working for. When I got more familiar with Labview I started liking it more and more. My internship is over but I want to continue with using Labview but is there a way to update my 3.5 year old labview or must I buy a newer version?
Guus

The student edition is intended for educational use only, so I doubt you can officially upgrade it, since you're no longer a student. Maybe if you have good connections with your local NI office\academic institution you might be able to get such a copy for personal educational use. Of course, you can also volunteer to teach LabVIEW at a local school and so have a good excuse to get the school to buy some copies.
Additionally, you can download a fully functional evaluation version, but that license is only valid for 30 days.

How much is teacher/student version upgrade from LR4?

The "teacher/student version" is a special offer for a full version purchase. The software is in fact identical to the regular full version being sold. Once you have purchased the license key it is fully functional and allows you to upgrade at the normal upgrade price.
If you still qualify for the "teacher/student version" you can purchase another full license for LR 5 at the discounted price which is the same as the upgrade price.

  • A question about student version upgrade

    Hi everyone,
I do know, that student version is only for noncommercial work, and while i'm just a student, i don't wanna take that risk that I might get commercial work to do, and I would't be allowed to do it.
Now what I've got in my mind, is that i would first buy cs4 design premium - student version. Then I would update it to the commercial version (CS4).
The question is, can I update CS4 student to CS4 commercial, or do I have to wait until CS5 is to be released.
And IF I can upgrade from CS4 student to CS4 commercial, does it cost the regural upgrade price? ( ~790€ ).
I know that student version has full upgrade rights, but on the "whats egible for upgrade" it doesn't mention CS4 (for obvious reasons, usually people don't want to pay to upgrade to same program they have), but somehwhere in the european FAQ (here http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/students/studentedition/faq.html ) there was mentioned this
Can I upgrade from a Student Edition?
Yes, a Student Edition can be upgraded to a commercial version.
Now it is not clearly stated, that can we upgrade from later version to more recent one, or can we upgrade recent student ver to recent commercial ver
Location: Europe, Finland, so before you north americans tell me that I can use student version for commercial work, i'd like to say that It doesn't work that way in Europe.
Thank you for your time, I hope someone has a clear ansrew to me.

  • Is it possible to upgrade from Student version Lightroom 3 to a private Lightroom 5?

I'm trying to find out if I can upgrade from my student version of Lightroom 3 to a private version of Lightroom 5, or do I have to buy the whole version of Lightroom 5? I would like to be sure about which to buy before I make a purchase and obviously make a saving if I can just purchase the upgrade.

You can simply buy the upgrade, no need to buy the complete version.

  • Why can't I upgrade my student version of creative suite to a professional version?

I purchased the student version of creative suite 6 in January to learn the software for a class that my job was paying me to take.  We decided that the software was worth investing in so my company wants to upgrade my student version to a professional version.  ( It turns out I am not allowed to use student version software for professional purposes - I don't know if that is a law or just a rule).  So I call up customer support to pay for the upgrade and cancel the student version.  I am told this isn't possible and that they have to create a whole new account and charge me a cancellation fee for my old account.  Then they send me to a sales rep who was a total jerk and told me he couldn't help me and spent 20 minutes seriously making fun of me.  What kind of sales rep makes fun of people?  Then he sent me back to customer support who of course couldn't help either and they had to then sent me to a cancellation guy.  By this time, I had been on the phone for an hour.  So this guy tells me my current contract requires me to pay $79 a month and to cancel it will cost my $280? WTH?  My student version costs only $30 a month.  I have invoices to prove it.  So then he charges me $112 to cancel but he can't set up a new account.  Of course, that has to be done by somebody else.  But after this horrible experience, why should I sign up AGAIN?  And why did I have to pay $112 to cancel when what I really wanted was an upgrade?

Fasiababy1 I am sorry that you have had a difficult experience.  As Ned mentioned if you have an annual contract then your best option is to continue utilizing the student version of the software.  You are also welcome to use the Student and Teacher Edition commercially you can find more details in the Education FAQ - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html.  In specific the following element is relevant to your inquiry:
Can I use Student and Teacher Edition products commercially?
Yes, Student and Teacher Edition products can be used commercially.

  • Upgrade from CS3 Student Version to CS4 Standard failed!

    Problem:
Got a new MacBook Pro 10.9.5 and had to install all my CS software new.
(NOW: I can't open any of my old CS5.5 files, because only CS3 is working at the moment)
    I'm having:
CS5.5 master collection upgrade (not working. it says: need an CS4 upgrate!)
CS3 Design Standard Student Version (is working)
    I recently bought:
CS4 Standard upgrate (to get back to my own CS5.5 master collection upgrade)
But now CS4 Standard ask for my CS3 Design Student Version serial number and it is not working, but the serial number is correct!
I need to choose an Adobe CS3 product, but there is no CS3 Standard Student Version. If I choose CS3 Design Standard my serial number isn't working.
    Can anyone help me?

I didnt even know contribute went to 4.4 I thought 4.1 or 4.11 was the last version in the 4 series.

  • Upgrade from student version to regular version.

    Hi,
I purchased a student version of LR4 about a year ago.  Now I want to purchase a non-student version of LR5.  Can I just buy the upgrade or do I need to buy LR5?  If LR5 will I then have both LR4 and LR5 on my MAC?

Yes, you can buy the upgrade "version" of Lightroom 5. Actually, there is only one version of Lightroom. The program is the same. There are just different licensing provisions. When you install Lightroom 5 you will have both versions on your computer. They will work independently of each other. You can keep Lightroom 4 for as long as you want. I still have it on my computer, but will probably remove it soon because I very seldom use it anymore.
Since you have Lightroom 4 installed, the installation of the new version will find the needed serial number, and you only have to enter the serial number with the new version.

  • Free upgrade to CS 6 (student version)

    Hello,
When I buy student version of Creative Suite 5.5, then buy upgrade to CS 6, I will have full commercial version of product (without any restrictions), right?
So, if previous sentence is true, I have question about buying Creative Suite 5.5 student version with free upgrade to CS 6. Is the free upgrade the same as upgrade "from previous sentence"? If I buy student version of CS 5.5 with free upgrade, will I have (after free upgrade) full commercial version of CS 6 without any restrictions or it would be only CS 6 still student version?
    Sorry for my English.
    Thanks for answer.

I guess I just expect more from Adobe. I kind of expect an email with my serial number when CS6 is available for purchase. Aperture had something similar (buy now and upgrade for free when the next version comes out) and that was immediate. Granted, Aperture is Apple, not Adobe, but I don't feel this is too much to expect.
Yes, I know I can use the trial, but I shouldn't have to. It's the little things that make a company great. It's the ability to pay attention to detail (little things like a simple serial number when a product releases) that make a difference.
I used to love Adobe (or parts, I've never been a huge fan of Dreamweaver or Flash). I adopted to InDesign when everyone said it would never stand a chance against Quark — I even went to toe to toe with the owner of the design studio to defend it. I would spend hours learning the new stuff in Photoshop. I'd lose sleep the night before CS was scheduled to arrive on my doorstep. I don't know if the company just got too big or it lost its way, but it's really too bad.
It's not just the serial number, it's the fact that InDesign still doesn't match Photoshop and Illustrator (and those two just started matching), it's the 5.5 releases that I thiink most of the community agrees was a sad excuse for a paid upgrade, it's the constant excuses of why Adobe can't play well with OS specific features (like Lion full-screen compatibility), it's the website that has some major flaws (like the <div class="LayoutHAlignItems LinkStrong"> below this field as one very quick example).
I don't expect Adobe to be perfect. I don't even expect Adobe to be on par with Apple. I do expect Adobe to be better than companies like Panic (no offense to Panic, they do a great job, but Adobe has quite a bit more resources at hand and really should be so much better).
Look, I know you're either an Adobe employee or someone who is still very much enamoured with their products, and until a serious competitor comes out, I'll still be a customer of Adobe. I just wish Adobe could catch up to the rest of the industry and, even more so, I wish they could be a company I could love again.

  • Photoshop upgrade from student version

I want to upgrade from CS4 Extended full student version to CS5.  Can I upgrade from a student version as I am no longer a student?

  • Upgrade Lightroom 1 Student version?

Back in early 2007, I purchased the academic edition of Lightroom 1. However, I am no longer a student and cannot purchase the student version of Lightroom 2.
Will the regular Lightroom 2 Upgrade version upgrade my student edition of Lightroom 1?
    Thanks for your help!

I don't know where you got that information from but, happily, it is wrong. Adobe has a very liberal updating policy. I've updated from an Educational Version of CS 3 times. Once you pay for the first upgrade, you have a full version, not a student version, and you can upgrade accordingly from there. As long as you're the legal, registered, activated user, just buy the upgrade and install it. You'll have no issues (at least with licensing.)
