Students cant save to thier netork folders in Mac os 10.5

We have a computer suite with intel imac computers that have recently been upgraded to 10.5 (Leopard)
When the computers log in a mounted shared drive appears on the desktop called "work" which contains the folders for all of the students to save their work into.
Under tiger we were always able to save into the work folder from any application however under leopard whenever we try to save a document in word/powerpoint/excel the computer freezes and you have to force quit the office application.
As a result we have had to tell the students to first save their work onto the desktop and then drag it into their work folder. Which works and then allows them to re-open the file from their folder on another machine but yet again will not save it.
I have some emacs running on 10.4 in the room next door and any students working in their are able to save directly into their folder without the application crashing.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how I can stop it?

We had numerous problems with the share point not being visible at all when we first upgraded the workstations to leopard and so purchased leopard server for our server and after upgrading it to leopard from tiger the share point started to work normally again as did the permissions for most of the network but this issue with saving then became our biggest problem. I had a look this morning in response to DaddyPaycheck's reply and ran the software update for office. We are using office 2004 for mac for the most part but since discovering this problem I also purchased a 3 license copy of office 2008 for mac in the hopes that the newer version would resolve the issue but it hasnt. The auto updater for mac office says that the software is up to date and the microsoft website for office mac says the last update released was mid december.
We have files much bigger than office documents such as garageband projects and imovie projects which are saving perfectly across the network to the share point (appleworks saves to) so the problem seems to be just with office which crashes 90% of the time when trying to save work.

That Bad Parameter error is likely telling you that the PDF you're trying to fill in is damaged/corrupted. Where did you get the PDF? And are you opening it in Reader or Acrobat (what versions?).

Cannot save email attachments to folders in Finder

Ughhh, I'm getting a sinking feeling.... It's happening again.
Ever since I installed Mavericks back in June of 2014, I've had nothing but problems. In fact, the actual install (perhaps coincidentally, I'm told) caused my hard drive to fail in mid-install, even though it was only 2 years old. Apple Care cheerfully paid for the new hard drive and installed Mavericks for me, but ever since my previously fast, responsive computer has been incredibly sluggish, lots of beach balls, tons of problems with things like the one I'm experiencing again today -- can't save email attachments to folders in Finder (the computer behaves as if the save was successful, but when you go look in the Finder later, you discover it was never saved anywhere). Also, I can't create any new folders because it says the location is Read Only (I've tried various file locations -- same result).
Since June, after countless visits to the Genius Bar and all sorts of attempts to fix the accumulating problems, the Genius erased my User Library last December in a final attempt to get the computer to work right before my Apple Care ran out. It was one of many attempted fixes that would actually work pretty well for a few days, but then the problems would accumulate again.
Last week, Word kept crashing. I took it to the Genius Bar and the June 2014 hard drive failed a diagnostic test. Even though Apple Care had expired, Apple replaced the hard drive for free because they could see the long list of notes from all of the visits I had made to the Genius Bar. I restored everything and, although it seemed to be working okay at first, I was still getting a lot of beach balls. Sometimes it can take 30 seconds to open a Word document, even if the application is already open. (FYI, I don't keep a lot of applications running.) But at least it was working. Today, however, I'm seeing some of the old familiar problems creep in. I cannot save email attachments to a folder. I cannot create new folders. I've tried restarting the computer multiple times. All of this was working fine as recently as yesterday.
1. Am I doing something that is causing this? This is my sixth Mac and I've never a serious problem with ANY of the others (including one that I bought USED) and I use them at least 8 hours a day. As far as I know, I'm doing everything the same way I've always done it.
2. Has anyone else encountered this "Read Only" problem and do you know how to fix it? I'm starting to think this is just a bad computer and that this is a symptoms that something is very wrong again.
3. Do I simply need to start over with a brand new computer (although, frankly, I'm scared to restore everything onto a new computer and risk "infecting" the new one). This is my work computer and I am self-employed, so I really cannot afford to be running to the Genius Bar once or twice a week any longer. Any advice? It's a MacBook Pro that I bought in December 2011. According to the stats, I'm using 354.68 GB of my 499.25 GB storage capacity.

I kept getting this last week. Really annoying. I found this solution:
Remove (delete) ALL photos and videos from your iphone. Reboot it. Connect to your pc again.
This worked for me, however I've since taken some more pics and it doesn't sync again, so I'm not sure what permanent solution there is, although I've read lots of technical ones by googling it.

A Search app top right of the Menu Bar ( or it was until Mountain Lion when Notifications now has the far right spot)
Spotlight has a magnifying/spy glass type icon.
It has been part of the OS for sometime now. (I have one computer here currently booted in to OS X 10.3 (Panther) and it is not in that version but it is soon after that.)
The Archive folder is dated folders.

I find Spotlight and then using the Show in Finder option and look through the list shows me the Files saved since Mountain lion was installed.
Also the Messages > File Menu > Recent Items will call up the Chat again (And show you the conversation joined up with other Saved chats back to the Mountain Lion Install date).
To Look in the Home Folder/Library you can do the following:-
Have the Finder as the "Front" App (Showing in the Menu bar)
Use the Go Menu
WHilst this is in the Drop down view hold trhe ALT key down
This display the hidden Library
Select the Library.
You can then select the various folders in the Library.
You need Messages and the contents of that folder.

I dont know if this is going to be a bit of a broad question, but we have some LiveCycle v8.0 developed forms which are distributed out to various people for completetion and sign-off. We have encountered an issue with one form that some people can and cant save. There seems to be no reasoning as some have the same version of Adobe Pro v8.0 on a variety of systems, be it Windows 2K or Vista. They are not able to save whether they have signed it or not. Those users also have managed to save other forms. Where is a starting point for me to look at what may be missing either in the form itself or their machines?

Yes you can turn on capability in Reader by Reader Extending it. There are two ways to Reader Extend your file. You can extend the file using LiveCycle Reader Extensions (this has the full set of extensions available) or you can use Acrobat which has a small subset of Reader Extensions (Local save and digitla signatures only).

Cant save down from CS4 to CS3

I'm having issues with my Illustrator CS4. It's recently stopped saving files down to CS3. Says "Can't Save File" when I try to save it down to CS3.

CS6 cant save the printer driver settings

Illustrator simply does not save any of the settings in the driver tabs (such as custom print sizes, paper tipe, source tray etc) unless I hit the Print button (e.g. I cant save those settings temporarily by pressing the Done button nor I can save a print presset for a later use), and that is a very very very annoying thing an it brings back some memories of the time I upgraded to CS and CS2 and the case then was even worse because it didnt save the printer driver settings even by printing and allways reverted to the default settings, and now I remember why I hate Adobe so much, because they never had a fix for that until CS3 came out.
That issue has been tested with XP 7 Vista both 32 and 64 (a lot of printer drivers) and it is not a single configuration problem, so please before asking some questions about the kind of the system and software etc do the following with your CS6 (or CS,CS2) and please tell me what happens. Choose File->Print and in the dialog choose whatever printer you have, press 'Setup...' button in the lower left corner, ignore the stupid prompt that some unknown Adobe genius tech invented, press Preferences button in the new Print window that pops up and in the printer driver UI window choose whatever setting you like that differs from the default setting, and then press Ok then Print and in the main Illustrator print dialog pres Done (but not Print if you are in CS6) button to close the dialog. Then open the Print dialog window again, navigate to the printer driver you just adjusted and please tell me what settings you have - those that you adjusted or the default settings. Thank you for the responceq Johny_07, unfortunately it solves the problem only if I have to specify the size of the media, but I need to specify the source tray, paper type and so on, parameters that are not present in the dialog box, and those are not remembered by Illustrator also. Do you experience that problem, I have allways wondered why there is no info concerning that problem, is it happening only with my instalations or it is a general program bug.

I cannot save any files anywhere. I always get the message "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the {} folder instead?"
I have created a clean profile in Profile Manager, and used the Reset Firefox tool. The only way I can save files is to use another browser. IE and Chrome have no problems saving files to the exact same folders.
This seemed to have started with the last update on 10/5/2013.

Maybe something changed in the program shortcut you use to start Firefox. Can you check right-click > Properties > Compatbility tab and make sure nothing is selected there?
