Studio 15" ADC value

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but...
What do you guys think a 15 inch Apple Studio Display with ADC connector is worth? I see them on ebay anywhere from $20 - over $100! Mine (though no use to me without a converter). Mine is in really good shape. I bought it refurbished and never used it.

Well, if anyone has this problem in the future, here's a temporary fix. When the monitor turns off in the middle of your computing session: unplug it for about 2 minutes. It needs to be about this long, otherwise unplugging it and plugging it back in won't work. Anyways, wait those 2 minutes, plug it back in, and it should come right back on.

URGENT HELP NEEDED Re: 17" Studio Display ADC

Recently, I gave a good friend of mine my old PowerMac G4 500 with DVI/VGA connector. I also bought a 17" Studio Display (ADC) to go with it, but I thought that an ADC to DVI connector would work with the monitor. It doesn't because, as I learned later, the display uses an analogue signal that the adapter cannot translate for the computer. There are suggestions that the G4 500 does not work at all with the 17" Studio Display (ADC) but I don't know whether this is actually true.
So my question is this: are there any adapters on the market that will work with the 17" Studio Display and the PowerMac G4 500?
Been looking everywhere for info, but nothing concrete. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Apple and Dr. Botts DVI to ADC adapters do not provide the RGB analog signals needed for a CRT monitor. The Gefen adapter

In the link, one person was using the Gefen adapter with a CRT, but the power supply was getting VERY hot. Buying the Gefen adapter and a new, bigger, power supply, would be the easiest way to get things to work. The only cable cutting would be moving the cable from the Gefen power supply to the new power supply. That would just be a two wire cable. If you can find the matching plug for the Gefen power supply, you wouldn't have to use the Gefen power cable, but make your own, which is probably better because Gefen might be using wires too small for the extra current.

Call Studio:COUNT element value reset.

Hi all!
I am designing a call flow in call studio, and am using the COUNT element at a point to track retries.
Problem is, I need to set its value back to 0 when the user leaves this menu.
Any ideas how to set it to 0 without using code/class/URI, as I am not a coder.
I am trying to reset it using any Callstudio element.

The G4 AGP graphics model is pre-ADC and its motherboard will not support a video card with a native ADC port. The ADC ports on such cards draw their power and USB feed via an extra leg on the card that fits into an extra slot at one end of the AGP slot on the computer motherboard. Your computer does not have this extra slot.
To run an ADC display off your computer, you can run a video card with a DVI output, then use a DVI to ADC adaptor such as this one:

You can use VGA to ADC adaptors, but they are much more expensive (than a DVI to ADC adaptor plus another video card), and don't give as good a result.

Dual ADC Apple Studio Displays (clear acrylic) with Mac Mini

I currently have the old school Apple Studio Display ADC monitor hooked up to my Mac Mini using the ADC to DVI adapter. I have a second Studio ADC Display and another ADC to DVI adapter to run Dual Displays. I just bought a SEE 2 XTREME DVI to USB which is used for adding multiple monitors. I have it all hooked up. Its just basic plug and play after installing the Mac driver. My second monitor power light just flashes and wont turn on...Any suggestions? I already made sure both monitors and both ADC to DVI adapters worked, and they do. Please Help!! Any info would be greatly appreciated.

yea, I checked that out about the light flashes. I have tried both monitors seperately and they both work fine...just not with this DVI to USB dual monitor adapter. Also, when I had them hooked up individually, I made sure the resolution was set the same in the system preferences > displays.

I will explain the same with a scenario.
As I mentioned above I am using TAXINJ & when I create a domestic PO I am entering the ADC % or value in the MM item conditions ADC condition type having subtotal as 2 & also I am selecting a tax code with AED condition but without any percentage since I will know the ADC % only @ the time of creating of PO hence I am entering it in the MM item conditions. Now when I do J1IEX whether the AED rate which I have given in the MM item conditions will flow automatically even though I didnt maintain anything against the AED condition in my tax code ?

Dual ADC and dual VGA......Possible?

My mate and I are both running a VGA LCD display connected via the included VGA to DVI adaptor plus an Apple Studio Display (ADC). Both on G4 MDD.

Anyone connected an Apple ADC CRT to Powerbook DVI, how??

I have my older 17" Apple Studio Display ADC CRT which I would like to use at home for extra screen space with my Titanium Powerbook which has a DVI port.
I bought the DVI to ADC adapter but have found out it ONLY works on the ADC LCDs and NOT CRTs. Crazy. So what connects these two together. I have seen many others in the Apple Display Forums with the same frustration but no solutions.
What gives? Apple abandoned connecting two of their own products which did overlap in time when sold.
Anyone else trying to do the same or are successfuly using these together?

I know your post is a bit old, but I'll contribute what I know anyway - You cannot use a DVI-ADC adapter with the ADC CRT because it is an analog display, and DVI by definition requires a digital signal. Therefore, neither the Apple adapter nor any other adapter can convert the signal from the CRT. It's outside of Apple's control. All of the LCD displays that are ADC use a digital signal, so they work just fine.
Apple only ever manufactured the one 17-inch ADC CRT, and only for about six months, so they're not affecting too many people... Unfortunately, you're one of them - and I have a beautiful, retired 17-inch CRT that I can't use with my PowerBook (Aluminum).
I got a 20-inch Cinema, and I love it.

CVD & ADC not flowing into MIGO.

For the Import purchasing, i did the MIRO to capture the customs & CVD values. But while doing GR, CVD & ADC values are not flowing into MIGO ( it should be shown in BED & AED ) respectively. I have maintained this condition types JCV1 & JADC in Excise default settings also. Is there any notes are available for this error?. Please throw your lights

Please check J1ID, whether we have maintained material and chapter id combination and cenvat determination. Secondly check the MIRO no. you are entering while doing MIGO. Sometimes it happen, that the miro number entered during MIGO different that of actual MIRO.

Connecting Studio Display 15" to G4 (Sawtooth)?

Hello, I want to give my son my old G4 350mhz AGB and just bought a 15" Studio Display (ADC) and now discover that my G4's video card only has a vga and a dvi-d port. Any suggestions how to make this work? Thanks in advance.

You need to use a DVI to ADC adapter. They're available from Apple or Dr. Bott. The ADC connector was introduced with the Gigabit Ethernet G4s and requires an extra power connector on the logic board just above the standard AGP slot. The Sawtooth models lack this, hence the power has to be supplied externally via an adapter. Unfortunately they're fairly expensive as the adapter includes the power supply.

Design Studio 1.3 Collecting Garbage Problem

We have recently downloaded Design Studio 1.3 after uninstalling previous version and restarted. We continue to get a message box from Design Studio
Problem Occurred
'Collecting garbage' has encountered a problem.
And an internal error occurred during: "Collecting garbage".
After this happens, the studio is unresponsive and we close and restart and it occurs again shortly afterward. At this point, we cannot use design studio to create applications. Windows 7, java version 1.7_045....
Appreciate any ideas. Search of SCN and OSS has not brought up any results

If during startup a popup with "Failed to create Java Virtual
Machine" comes up, your VM might have run out of memory. Try to reduce
the memory settings step by step. Change the parameter -Xmx in the file
SapDesignStudio.ini in the Design Studio installation directory, e.g. from
"-Xmx1024m" to "-Xmx768m". Then restart Design Studio. This value had to be
increased with 1.2 SP 1 from 512 to 1024 (Xms from 128 to 256, MaxPermSize from
384 to 512). Consider switching to a 64 Bit OS in case of unsufficient memory.
If the Designer shows an "Collecting Garbage" error
message, then a reduction of the two memory values mentioned above can also
help.

About variable definition and build error

I am new to the motion control card. I try to use VC++ to build my application. But after I have done everything written in the examples to add the include and library path, there are still tons of errors when building the application. It seems that the error has something to do with the order of the "#include"s, because changing the order will result in different error codes. But I am not sure what the right order is, and I am not sure whether this is the problem. Any ideas?
And if nothing will work, is i32 equals to long in c++? Can I subtitute these types with the corresponding types in C++? Will this solve the problem?

    Your code looks fine in general, but there is something to consider. According to this document, Visual C++ in .NET is not supported. But, C code will work within it.

Video card problems, monitor distortion

Hi, I have a 17 inch Apple Studio Display (ADC Connector). It's about three years old now. Just recently after I woke up my computer, the monitor suddenly had this crazy distortion that's a kind of banding that goes down the screen. I took a picture and posted it here:

It actually looks a lot worse now. It's not just limited to the bands, really the entire image has crazy weird artifacts everywhere. Plus if I have a finder window open and then drag it around the screen, the window will be a nonsensical mess of randomly colored pixels. If I minimize the window and bring it back it will refresh somewhat and only be distorted like the rest of the monitor. Same goes for if I'm on a web page and scroll using smooth scrolling
I've tried reseating the card a number of times. The first time it worked for a few hours, but the last time I tried it was only working for a few seconds then went back to being heavily distorted. I tried also dusting out my computer and the card itself in hopes that would do something, but my monitor now probably looks worse than the picture I linked to.
I jiggled the connection, and at one point it looked all right if I put downward pressure on the cord (the screw wasn't in the slot so there was some room to move). My dilemma is I don't know if a new card will solve this problem, or if the connection problem is on the side of the motherboard. I can't really test it unless I get my hands on another card.
has anyone run into this problem before?

I am experiencing the same exact problems and anomolies as Derek with my 9800 pro 128mb and I am having the same conclusions while trouble shooting. I can tell you for sure that it is not a display conection problem for I am seeing it on 2 screens with a dual monitor set up on both a apple 23" lcd and an analog CRT.
During start up the boot screen displays clusters of virtical white lines running the length of the screen. While on the desktop I see this same blocky checkerboard type pateren that randomly changes but is also affected by on screen movement.
The problem first occured Saturday afternoon upon waking from sleep and got progesivly worse within minutes eventually rendering the computer unusable. The distortion flickers about randomly but also seems to be affected when the card is touched. I seem to recall waking from sleep to this problem in the past but it was fixed by a reboot. No such luck this time. I also tried reseating the card to find the distortion temporarally fixed, but then it came back worse then before.
The card is 2 years old now and has never been modified but has been overclocked by 5% for the past year or so using ATIcellerator II with no other problems.
Also, I am a bit concerned about the heatsink being burning hot to the touch within minutes of boot up.
So far this is the only forum I have been able to find concerning this problem. Any comments would help. In the mean time I am going to go shopping for a new card. Hopefully this is not more serious then a bad card.
