Studio 8 and Academic full version Web standard Suite - Adobe support contradictory

I received contradictory info from Adobe and that after they shipped out my purchase and I just received it today in the mail.
I have at home the commercial Studio 8.
I purchased  the Academic full version CS4 Web Standard. (it was cheaper then the commercial upgrade from Studio 8 to CS4 Web Standard suite and even Adobe  Telephone Customer Care suggested me to do).
Before I purchased it I asked by phone with the Customer Care
- Upgrade possibilities : Adobe confirmed as follows :
° commercial upgrade from Studio 8 to CS4 Web standard Suite
      or
° academic full version of CS4 Web Standard suite (as the academic store has no upgrades)
      or
° in case I only want Dreamweaver (an not the Fireworks and Flash) then I needed to purchase a Full version of the Stand Alone CS4 Dreamweaver
- the possibility of still be able to use both versions (the old one and the new one)
Adobe telephone support confirmed to me also that both versions Studio 8 and the CS4 Suite Web standard could be installed on the same desktop and that I could keep on using Studio 8 aswell.
Anyhow Adobe Telephone Customer Care advised me to purchase the Full Acadamic Version of CS4 Web Standard as then I would have the new version of all my programs of Studio 8 for a better price.  Moreover they confirmed to me that later on I could upgrade this academic version via the commercial store if there should be a CS5 or so.
Some of you on this forum told me the same about the upgrade from Studio 8
As advised on this forum for double check I  launched the same question on 27/5 to the Adobe Customer Portal on the internet and received only today (15 days later) an answer which is contradictory to what Adobe Customer Care told me on the phone.
Now they say that an upgrade  from Studio 8 is not possible  at all and that I only can use a CS4 Dreamweaver Stand alone version.
And that both versions Studio 8 and CS4  Dreamweaver / CS4 Web Standard cannot be used on the same computer. I need to uninstall the old version.
On the Adobe website you can even click on a link to show you the commercial upgrade options from Studio 8 and CS4 Web Standard Suite is one of them.
Now either the Customer Portal has totally misunderstood my question or the Customer Care by phone misinformed me.
But with this contradictory info and my shipment received, I'm full of doubts about the info from Adobe.
Can somebody help putting the light in this darkness?
Many thanks
Martine

Hi Snakeye,
Indeed, suite to suite through the commercial store.
Or a full academic version as there are no upgrades in the academic store.
So I did the right thing already by purchasing the full Academic version .
Good to hear I can use both suite on 1 PC.  Oufffff!
Cause for my old project(website) I still want to use Studio 8.   And for the new projects I start with CS4.
Once I can work fluently with CS4 I can import the the old project and continue with CS4.
Many many thanks for your info which I appreciated a lot.
All the best
Kind regards
Martine

You can have direct download from this link:
    <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>
Make sure you select the correct version for your operating system.  You also need to have a reasonably faster reliable Internet connection.
    Good luck.

  • Crystal Runtime 10.5 for Visual Studio 2008 - viewer/full version support

Hi - can reports developed in VS 2008 (CR basic 10.5) be run externally using a full or viewer version ?  If so, is there a restriction on which versions can be used for this (2008 / 11 / 13 etc) and whether the version must be full vs viewer ?
The background is that we have an old asp.net 3.5 system that is being migrated from Windows 2008 / IIS 7 to Windows 2012 / IIS 8 - the app runs fine but it seems the 10.5 runtime is no longer supported.  Recompilation using VS 2010 isn't an option so I was looking at client-side solutions if possible to run the reports outside of the .net app - preferably using a free viewer as the reports will not be re-designed.
I'm hoping this is a straightforward question but I've checked a few sites/forums and this isn't very clear.  Grateful if someone can advise or point me to a site which clearly covers this.
    Thanks.

I don't know if you are looking for a web or win viewer, but as you are mentioning servers, I assume you are looking for some sort of a web viewer(?). And there is no such thing. There is a Windows viewer:
    http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-29774.
CR 10.5 is supported - will be until Dec. 31, 2018: SAP Crystal Products - End of Mainstream Maintenance Dates: Current Products
However there are no fixes planned. Additionally CR 10.5 does not support WIN 2012. CR 2008 (v. 12.x) is supported in VS 2008 and when updated to Service Pack 7, you will get support for WIN 2012. See SAP Crystal Reports 2008 SP7 for Windows - Supported Platforms.
So, in a nutshell; upgrade the app to CR 2008, SP 7 and all should be fine.

  • Vista upgrade and XP full version, what can I do?

I would like to install Vista on a new bootcamp (snow leopard on mac mini), but my copy of Vista is an upgrade. I have a full version of XP, and an upgrade version of Vista. Do I have to install XP first, or can I use the upgrade and just pop in the XP disc when it prompts?  I have done this with another PC that had a full 98 and an upgrade XP, but that wasnt a mac. I also am concerned since I may upgrade to Lion very soon, and dont have the money to get both lion and win 7, that I will be stuck if I try to do a clean install of Lion, I may lose the ability to run bootcamp with my current Windows discs.
    Thanks for any help,

  • Versions of Creative Suite still supported

What versions of Creative Suite does Adobe still officially support?
I saw an announcement that it not longer would authorize new installations of CS2. What about each of CS3 through CS6?

Thank you for the fast response, Bob. I work for a company that provides InDesign plug-ins, and this will help determine how long we continue to make enhancements in our plug-ins for older versions of Creative Suite. We have customers using CS2, 4, 5, 5.5 and 6, with a Creative Cloud installation on the horizon.

  • I have been billed for two versions of adobe products - Photography and the full version

I recently upgraded from the photographer version to the full suite.  I had help from the adobe chat line, and was assured that the original purchase was cancelled.  However, I have now been billed for both versions?

    Hi Annette
I'll look into what's happened here and refund the charge that was processed in error.
    Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

  • HT5127 I had one day left on my trial version of final cut pro x so decided to purchase the full version.  Now I have both versions and the full version does not have any of the events or projects in it.  What can I do?

    Please help.

Patricl, please answer Russ's question; and fear not, deleting or installing a version of FCP X does not delete or move any of your media or projects.
If the trial was from an older version (10.0.x), there is a necessary update procedure. 10.1.x uses libraries to organize your content, and the older stuff must be converted to the new organizational scheme, but it is well worth it.

  • Migrating from 1.5.6 Academic to full version 2.0

Is there any issue migrating from Aperture 1.5 academic full version of 2.0? In other words, if I buy a 2.0 full version can I easily migrate my existing library?

You have to buy the full 2.0 version (well, or you can buy the academic 2.0 version for $20 less) but then you can just open your library and Aperture 2.0 will offer to upgrade it.
Once that's done you can decide whether you want to migrate the masters to the 2.0 RAW conversion, as well (this is optional and changes the RAW conversion but gives you more options for recovery, etc.). Only do this if you want to re-fiddle with images you've already worked on.

  • From Dreamweaver 3.0 to CS 3 Web Standard

    Hi All,
I hope that you can help me!
I have Dreamweaver 3.0 (full version, not an upgrade) and bought CS Web Standard Edition Upgrade (includes: Dreamweaver CS 3, Flash CS3, Fireworks CS3 Contribute CS3).
I'm tryin to install this upgrade and it takes me to "Upgrade Check". On upgrade check it says to select the software that I own, but the problem is I don't own any of the listed softwares.
What can I do to install it?
    Here are the listed softwares:
    Dreamweaver MX
    Dreamweaver MX 2004
    Dreamweaver CS3
    Flash MX Profesional 2004
    Flash Profesional 8
    Flash CS3 Profesional
    Flash MX
    Flash MX 2004
    Flash Basic 8
    Thanks for your help,
    Alex

I also have Macromedia Studio MX, which includes Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX.
    OK, new information.
    I'm still having problems....
Can you tell us more? The more specific detail you offer. the more help and suggestions you will get.
Are you trying to upgrade from Studio MX to CS3 Web Standard? or something else?
If Studio MX is correctly installed with a valid serial number then there's nothing to prevent you from upgrading to the CS3 Web Standard suite.

  • CS4 web standard on pc, now using macbook.

I have CS3 web standard and CS4 web standard upgrade. Both are boxed version and have serial numbers for PC. I'm now on a macbook pro. Could I get help on how to install the CS4 web standard suite on my macbook? Not sure if I can just Download CS4 for mac and use the serial number on the box. Problem is I can't even find the download for CS4 web standard. I see CS4 web premium, but not standard?

As far as I know, a Win number will not work with a Mac version
However... Unless an employee stops by this forum and reads your message, you need to know...

  • Upgrading from CS3 Web Standard to CS4 Web Premium problems

So I got my CS4 Web Premium upgrade box in the mail yesterday.  I'll be starting a big project in about a week or so and figured I'd do the install and familiarize myself with the enhancements and play with PS, as it has been a while.  Anyway, I drop the first of the install disks into my XP Pro SP3 laptop and off I go.  I enter the serial number for the CS4 which checks good.  Hit next at which point it looks for a previous install of a CS product and does not find one.  No problem, I think to myself, as there is a space to enter the previous version's serial number.  Enter the serial for the previous version (CS3 Web Standard) which results in a no go in resolving the number.  The tool suggests I go back and install the trial version and then deal with the issue with Adobe support.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so could you please share your experiences and/or resolution path?

I did my homework on this one and purchased the "Upgrade from Creative Suite 3.x" offering.  The CS3 works like a champ.  When I attempt to do the install of CS4 I get the error message when I enter the CS3 serial number.  Any thoughts, guidance or suggestions are welcomed.  I'm resistant to going the trial version route for fear that I'll not get resolution in time and have my project impacted.  I can probably get by with Fireworks, but PS is preferred and the driving reason for the upgrade.  Thanks!
