Studio creator 2 launch from desktop

I wanted to fine out if java have a download that has drag-an-drop component to create applications that can be deployed from sun systems? I know studio creator 2 has a drag-an-drop component feature for web application, if I create a application using studio creatior2 can it be launch from the sun system?

Maybe I didn't quite answer your question. What do you mean by "launch from desktop"? You can run Java Studio Creator applications on your local desktop machine by running them in the Sun Java System Application Server 8.x Platform Edition that's bundled with Creator for development and testing, but they are web applications running inside the J2EE container and do not have complete access to files on your local desktop machine.
You can use Java Studio Enterprise or the new NetBeans Enterprise Pack 5.5 Beta to create server side EJBs and Web Services that have complete access to server side files. If you want a simple desktop application that has complete access, use NetBeans with its new the intuitive GUI builder Matisse.

  • [SOLVED] GTK2 apps have wrong theme when launched from desktop entry.

So I'm setting up KDE and I want to use the QtCurve theme for all applications where possible. I have set (via kde-gtk-config) the GTK2 theme to QtCurve and it half works. GTK2 applications are using the QtCurve theme when they are launched via a command, but they are using what appears to be an ugly version of the Oxygen theme when launched from a .desktop file. I previously installed gtk-qt-engine from the AUR, but have since removed it along with it's files, and as I was using the Oxygen theme at the time, this appears to be what has caused the issue. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?
EDIT: Solved by removing ~/.themes folder (obviously only remove the KDE-QT theme if there are other themes in the folder).

Thanks, but lxappearance made things rather worse.
A friend of mine had told me to put "gtk-toolbar-style=GTK_TOOLBAR_ICONS" into settings.ini and my problem is solved now.

  • Application Not Launching from Desktop Icon

With every new release our jars change from say jarA-release1.jar to jarA-release2.jar etc. We don't use any version based JNLP download, hence the new jars are downloaded based on the last modified date. When we move from release 1 to release 2, customers launch the application from Desktop icon and get the new jars downloaded. But when they logout and try to launch the application again from desktop, it fails because the desktop icon still references the old cache. Any suggestions please?

Are you getting an error message when you try to launch iTunes, patrice? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • HT203175 my itunes will not launch from desktop keeps saying not installed properly despite having uninstalled and reinstalled many times

anybody got any ideas ??? won't launch from desktop

Thanks.  I read that link before posting here but I wasn't able to do the first part because iTunes will not ever open for me to start it in Safe mode.
Since I posted yesterday, "something" I did must have worked (but I don't know what exactly because I think I didn't do anything).  But iTunes just randomly appeared on the system tray yesterday afternoon.  It wouldn't open by clicking on it, so I tried to Ctl-Alt-Del to close it, thinking I'd at least get some errors to view in the log, but then about a half hour after  I had tried to close it through Ctl-Alt-Del, it actually opened.  It still doesn't recognize my iPhone 4S though.  If I get that to start working I'll update again.

  • Launching from desktop shortcuts results in shared JInitiator sessions?

    Hello,
I've been looking into how best to give users a route into my Forms 10gR2 application, and had set up a desktop shortcut. This is just a URL to an intermediate htm file, which then uses window.open() Javascript to run the URL for the application itself in a stripped-down browser window. I've turned off the Internet Explorer option 'Reuse windows for launching shortcuts', so a new IE window is always opened rather than use an existing one.
That all works fine in principal. I've noticed, though, that if a browser is already open, then clicking on the shortcut will open a new browser window (good) but that is still part of the existing browser process. This means that if I use the desktop shortcut twice, to start two separate sessions of my application, they are in different windows but sharing the same browser process - and the same JInitiator (I only see one instance of the JInitiator console, with outputs from the two sessions.) That scenario often causes the newer application session to hang terminally before login.
The problem doesn't occur if I manually force starting of a new IE instance to run my second application session. It definitely seems to be a problem with running two Forms sessions in one IE instance - I read on another post there was a known bug on this in Forms 10g904, I'd have thought this would be fixed by now..?
Has anyone else had similar problems? Or experience of using desktop shortcuts to start a Forms app?
    Cheers,
    James

I haven't done much with JPI, apart from testing it locally on my development box. I've successfully lobbied our DBA in support of creating an alternate JPI config on our test server, to evaluate its effect on an app currently under development, but I've yet to ask that he actually create that config.
My main reason for wanting JDK 1.4 or better, is to gain support for regular expressions. I'm running JPI 1.3.1_16, so I haven't had a chance to observe the behavior you're describing with JPI 1.5. The Java Plug-In Control Panel provides allows me to choose which JRE it employs -- does JPI 1.5 no longer support this? As for the sticky-cursor issue, I am not familiar with it -- I guess I'll have to research that a bit!
I'll be working with JPI more, over the coming weeks/months, and will be certain to report back with the results of my testing.

  • JWS is downloading  the Application every time when I launch from desktop

    Hello All,
We are Facing a strange issue with the JRE6U14 version. first let me tell you about the jnlp config file we have. we Use JWS to install a SWT Based application. For that we are using two JNLP descriptors . One is the main JNLP <application-desc> and the other is <installer-desc> which we use inside it.
The application is working fine with the JRE6u13. with no exceptions on a windows XP and Vista systems with IE 6&7 browsers . Recently one of our client installed JRE6u14 and they upgraded their IE browser to IE8, after that they installed our application also through Java Web start. Application got installed without any problem , but the problem they faced is when they try to open the application for the next time from the application shortcut on desktop, web start is not launching the application directly ,instead it is trying to download the application again.
Our jnlp file has the following configuration for <shortcut> element
    *<shortcut online="true">*
    *<desktop/>*
    *<menu submenu="Course Builder"/>*
    *</shortcut>*
This was working perfect in JRE6u13 but the mess started with JRE6U14 on windows Vista system with IE 8 . This behavior is not consistent again, the JRE6u14 works fine with IE 7 on windows XP. I have no clue about why it fails , Is any body faced this type of issue with Web start deployment.
Any suggestion or solution will be much appreciated
    Thanks

    Hello Jorge,
Make sure your computer's software is completely up to date by going to Apple Menu > Software update.
Remove the following files to the trash and restart the computer (do not empty the trash until you are sure the issue is resolved):
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these files. Remove them all.)
    Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Caches (There may be more than one of these files. Remove them all.)
If after restarting the same thing happens try testing iCal in a new user account http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8235.html.
If the issue only happens in your user account follow http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627.
If the issue happens system wide reinstall iCal by moving the iCal application to the trash and following: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/19535.html.
    Hope that helps.

  • Could not initiate SSL connection when DS is launched from Eclipse

    Hello,
I am wondering whether anyone has faced this issue connecting to the BIP with https when Design Studio is launched from the Eclipse IDE.
The URL is something like : https://myservername.domain.net/dswsbobje/services/Session
We get the following error message when entering the URL : "Could not initiate SSL connection. Check the Web Service Url"
However, when Design Studio is launched directly, the same URL works fine and we can connect to the BIP normally.
I would imagine something is missing in the Eclipse configuration or there is an issue elsewhere. I did not find anything relevant in the SDK guide.
We checked the following SAP notes :
1807142 - How to enable HTTPS/SSL Designer against BIP
-> Web service configured properly, the URL works fine and it works when Design Studio is started without Eclipse
1975475 - Unable to select authentication method in BIP logon dialog of SAP Design Studio
Tried the solution : set to Direct. Tried to remove proxy entries in IE. No improvement. Also, I tried to set the connectivity to Direct in the Eclipse. But, no luck.
    Software :
    Design Studio 1.2 SP01 + SDK 1.2 SP01
    BI 4.0 SP06
Java EE IDE (Kepler)  Version: 2.0.1.20130919-0803
    Java JRE 1.6.0.35. It's old, I know...
    Thanks in advance.

  • Windows server 2012 r2 vm will not launch from RemoteApp & Desktop connection page

I have setup a RDS test lab and created a un-managed pooled collection which has a server 2012 r2 desktop vm and a windows 8.1 desktop vm. I can launch the windows 8.1 vm through RDWeb access page but I can not launch the server 2012 r2 vm. Can a server
2012 r2 vm be brokered through the connection broker and launched from RDWeb?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Does server 2012 R2 VM created succefully and can you access through remote session (not through RD Web Access)?
If possible for a try create a new VM and check the related setting with new user account and then access them whether it resolve your issue. you can refer below article to create VDI.

  • Design Studio 1.4 SDK:  Issues when launching from the Eclipse IDE

    Hi,
I am receiving various errors when launching Design Studio 1.4 from the Eclipse IDE for SDK development.  All of the components appear in the Component panel as expected but I can't drag and drop any of the SDK components (or standard components for that matter) onto the canvas.  When I launch Design Studio 1.4 independently of Eclipse everything works fine (event though I still see come errors in the Console).
I'm hoping the community can provide some guidance to help resolve the issue.  The details are documented below:
    Environment:
    Design Studio Version: Release 1.4 SP0 Patch 1 (64-bit)
Eclipse Version: Java EE IDE Luna Service Release 1a (4.4.1) - 64-bit
    Java Run-time Environment: Version 8 Update 25 (64-bit)
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
    Eclipse Configuration for DS SDK:

Target Run Configuration (VM Arguments as per DS SDK Developer Guide):
    Steps to Reproduce Error
    1.  Launch Eclipse
    2.  Launch DS 1.4 from Run command in Eclipse
The following screen appears immediately after launching DS from Eclipse:
At this point the DS error log is as per the attached DS_Log_After_Eclipse_Launch.txt file.
    3.  Create a new blank Application from the Application -> New menu.  This time additional error messages appear as shown in the screenshot below:
It's not possible to drop any standard or SDK components onto the canvas because the internal browser doesn't appear to have been instantiated due to the above errors.
At this point the DS error log is as per the attached DS_Log_After_Eclipse_LaunchAndAppCreate.txt file.
    3. Return to Eclipse IDE
The Eclipse Console displays the following errors:
The Eclipse Console Log is as per the attached EclipseConsoleLog.txt file.
    4.  Launch DS 1.4 Independently
The following errors also appear when I launch DS 1.4 independently of Eclipse but it in this case everything seems to work fine.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
