Stumped

I have been working with Dreamweaver for a few years now. I
have a website and I need to insert some kind of slide show (just
plain photos with no text or anykind of user interaction). I want
to insert the slide presentation right in the middle of my first
screen (index.htm). I have downloaded the latest editions fo
Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks. I also downloaded Articulate for
PowerPoint. Please - if somebody could explain how to do this as if
they were tallking to a rank beginner, I can't tell you how
thankful I would be......

I have been using this Flash extension in various projects
for a while
and couldn't be more happy.

  • Can't capture vid - Canon XL cam FW 400 to FW 800 HD - Apple gurus stumped

Am I REALLY the ONLY person out there using a Canon XL 1 and/or 2, an external hard drive with firewire 800 ports and a G5 and/or Mac Book Pro and working with FCP?!!!!
I made a special trip from Flagstaff AZ to the Apple Store at the Biltmore in PHX, just to stump the Apple genuises with this problem. They asked that I post this on the Apple site's discussion forum.
The verdict was: There seems to be a problem capturing video in FCP ("Unable to initialize video deck" and FCP freezes up) when going from the Canon, via firewire 400 4 pin to 6 pin and saving to an external hard drive via firewire 800. The 400 cable is good, as it captures fine to a drive using a 400 cable. It's just the 400 port on newer, 800 capable hard drives, is limited to one. We tried all different ways of configuring, going from camera to HD thru the Mac, and going from camera directly into the external HD, plugging into the 400 port, and then into the Mac from the HD thru the 800 ports.
The only thing that we didn't try, because it's a rare cable (the Apple store hasn't carried one in over three months), is a 4 pin to 9 pin FW 800 cable.
What am I doing in real life to still keep making money? I capture to my old external HD that has 2 FW 400 ports, then dump the footage to my new HDs with FW 800 ports to work on the project. Time consuming.
Again, all versions of FCP and QuickTime software are up to date. We also used one of their G5s. Also, the problem occurs with both my LaCie Rugged HD and my Western Digital My Book, both purchased from the Apple store. The guru at the store kept referring to a bridge issue???
    Thanks.

Here's my standard "so you are using a Canon camcorder to capture and it isn't working" routine:
Not all Canon cameras have connection issues, but hanging around this site I've come to recognize their ability to connect in FCP is the most problematic of all the camera brands. If you have a Canon camcorder, and can not get it to connect up with FCP, the following is a way to sort through the issues and get it to work. Some are elegant - some are ugly.
    Before we go any farther
-you should be using 'Firewire Basic' as the control protocol. If you aren't, go change it and try again.
-Also, verify that you have a solid installation of Quicktime. You may want to reinstall it using the 'delete receipts' method. Here's how:
Go to /library/receipts and delete any files that say Quicktime followed by a number e.g. Quicktime703.pkg
Go to the Apple quicktime site and download the appropriate version of Quicktime to your hard drive.
    Run the Quicktime installer.
    Reboot
Repair Disk Permissions for your System Disk (Disk Utility > Select the system disk > Repair Disk Permissions)
With some confidence that the software installation and camera settings are correct and it still won't capture correctly, you are most likely a victim of the dread 'Canon firewire bus incompatibility problem'. Simply stated: Canon cameras do not play well with other devices on the same firewire bus. And, since all the firewire ports on a Mac connect to one bus - well - you get the picture.
The most direct solution is to purchase another, non-Canon device to use as your capturing machine. The Sony DSR-11 is highly recommended for DV work. Since you have one and it isn't working, perhaps you have a more fundamental problem. Beyond replacing your tape playback device, the path you take depends on the model of computer you own.
    1. If you have a G5 tower or a MacPro, capture to a second internal drive with only the camera attached. If you need to move material to firewire drive, disconnect the camera. A second internal drive is quite inexpensive these days if you do not already have one.
    2. If you have a G5 tower (PCI) MacPro (PCI), G4 powerbook (PCMCIA) or MacBookPro (Expresscard 34) with an available slot, purchase the appropriate firewire card for the slot. Connect your camera to the card and you should be good to go. The new card creates a unique bus and will avoid collisions with the external drives.
    3. If you do not have a slot or a second internal drive and you are stuck with the camera, welcome to the camera/drive shuffle.
    - shut down and remove the external hard drive(s) from the system
    - connect the camera directly to the firewire port of the computer
    - start the camera then the computer
    - capture to your internal (system) hard drive
    - shut down the camera and computer
    - disconnect the camera and reconnect the external hard drive(s)
    - start hard drive(s) and computer
    - move captured files to external hard drive(s)
    - edit
If you output back to tape or wish to view your work on an external Video (NTSC or PAL) monitor, you need to set up the camera to use the firewire out as the A/DV converter or VTR - which means reversing the steps:
    - copy the file back to the internal drive
    - shut everything down
    - disconnect the external drive(s)
    - connect the camera to the firewire port (and the TV to the camera if needed)
    - start the camera then the computer
    - play the file.
One caveat here - You may have difficulty getting the file back to tape without dropping frames. Playing files off of the system drive is very demanding and they may have a hard time keeping up.
All in all, if you do not have the option for second bus (i.e. iMacs, eMacs, iBooks, MacBooks) you may want to think about a computer with expandable options next time.
There is the option of capturing using iMovie, but that brings on it's own set of problems and is not recommended.
    Good luck.

  • HT202879 I am stumped - trying to open a recent Pages file but error message says that I need a "newer version" of Pages.  My software updates show that there are no updates available.  I recently updated Pages but it is not consistent.

I am stumped - I am trying to open a recent Pages file (created with a newer software that I thought was correctly installed recently) but error message says that I need a "newer version" of Pages.  My software updates show that there are no updates available. Pages 09 version 4.3 shows as my current version.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • Can't print to pdf from Word - Stumped Applecare & Microsoft level 2

This is a challenge question that has stumped the Applecare level 2 and the Microsoft Office level 2 support people. I'm hoping someone out there can help me.
This is different from the other postings about printing to a pdf. I am able to print to a pdf or to the printer from TextEditor, and I can print from Acrobat, Safari, Mail, etc. The problem is only associated with Mcrosoft Office 2004.
    Here's the scenario:
I had a Mac G4 and got a new MacBook Pro (10.4.9). I ported everything from my old computer to my new computer. My old computer had Microsoft Office v: X. Once I had the new computer up and running, I went to open one of my existing Word documents. When I double-clicked on the Word document on my new computer, I assumed it would open in Office v: X as usual, but the new computer had the Office 2004 Test Drive loaded, and the file opened in the TestDrive. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to print from the file>print dialog box since then. I ended up buying Office 2004, thinking it was time to upgrade, but the fully loaded version has the same problem.
I suspect that the TestDrive irreversibly toggled some switch in some embedded print function file and that the new software installation is not addressing that file.
I called Microsoft and spent 2 hours on the phone with them, and they could not solve the problem. They did acknowledge that the TestDrive takes over as the default and that the TestDrive version cannot print. With the Microsoft people on the phone, I uninstalled all versions of office and removed the preference files, in addition to attempting other things, but that didn't do it. (If I set up another account with administrator rights, the problem exists in the new account as well.)
Keep in mind that I can print when using the icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen, but I cannot get the file>print dialog box to print to the printer or to a pdf. The whole box seems to be disabled. In the end, Microsoft couldn't help and suggested that there was a conflict with the Preview program which enables the print to pdf function. (I made Preview the default program for opening pdf's, instead of Acrobat, but that didn't help either.)
Next, I was on the phone with Applecare (almost an hour with level 2) and they suggested some of the same things. They also suggested removing Office with Appzapper and reinstalling. Appzapper did remove more files than the Microsoft people told me to, but still no dice.
Applecare said an archive install could potentially correct what the TestDrive did, but it would also put all my files in jeopardy if the process ran amok.
I have not yet tried removing Office 2004 and going back to Office v:X, but if nothing else works I can try that next. I'd really like to make it work with Office 2004 though.
In case you're wondering, my printer is connected to the computer directly by the printer cable. The printer is a HP Laserjet 1200, and I updated the drivers as part of the process of trying to solve the problem. I know the printer is old, but it worked well with my G4 and Office v:X. I have also loaded all the latest Microsoft Office and Apple updates for the Office software and the computer.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, and thanks for your help!

<but I cannot get the file>print dialog box to print to the printer or to a pdf. The whole box seems to be disabled. >
Do you get the dialog to come up and then the buttons don't work? Is that what "disabled" means? If so, removing the Xerox plugins could help:

If this is not the case, could you provide more description on what disabled means?

  • HT1476 My iPhone 4S will charge on a laptop but not from a wall plug. I have tried different boxes and different USB cords from the wall but none work. These boxes and USB cords work for other family members with iPhones. I'm stumped :/

My iPhone 4S will charge on a laptop but not from a wall plug. I have tried different boxes and different USB cords from the wall but none work. These boxes and USB cords work for other family members with iPhones and a USB cord that works from the laptop won't work from 3 or 4 different wall boxes that work for others. I'm stumped :/

Update: It seems as though the phone will charge if I plug it in and then turn it off.  It will not charge while the phone is on.  Also iTunes will not recognize it, so I can't sync or anything.  I read somewhere that it could be a fuse somewhere?? Or maybe the dock connector. Where is the best place to get this repaired?

  • Since updating to iTunes 11.1.4(62) both my iPhone 5 and iPad Air do not sync.hen I plug them into my lap top directly, using the USB cord, they don't even register with iTunes as being present. I am completely stumped. I had no problem before.

When I plug my iPhone or iPad directly into my lap top, using the USB cord, the devices don't even register with iTunes as being present. I am completely stumped. I believe this bagan with my last iTunes update. The last time I syced any device was Oct 23, 2013. During that time I bought two new apple products and the same problem, when I plug them in they do not even show up as being available to sync. Any ideas why this is happening?

  • This is a stumper of a problem

This is quite a specialised problem and i hope someone can help me
I am writing a jsp web page to display information from a ldap directory. It works fine except i need to specify where the program is to search the ldap tree. When i specify no location i.e. "" the program works perfectly but when i specify a location such as i.e. "cn=Radiation,cn=Documentation" tomcat returns an error that doesnt exactly explain whats happening the main error line reads
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: ld.Connection.getDocument(Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/util/ArrayList;The must stumping part of this problem is that the program runs in jbuilder when i specify a location but not on tomcat, i find this strange as jbuilder runs it in tomcat to run it!!!

  • X200 HD refuses to be partitioned -- am totally stumped!

I just purchased an X200 whose HD I'm trying to partition, in order to separate OS and software from my data. I've successfully done this several times over the years on other IBM/Lenovo laptops (a T40, a T43, a T60 and a T61) using version 8.01 of PowerQuest Partition Magic. The T61, which was the most recent experience, was not as straightforward as the previous ones, but what I'm encountering with this X200 has me completely stumped.
I'm running Windows XP Professional (factory downgrade), which I've updated to SP3. All critical updates, Microsoft and Lenovo, have been installed.
     Here’s what looks normal:
    1. Windows thinks my hard drive is fine. I performed a CHKDSK on Drive C and it encountered no errors whatsoever. According to disk properties, Drive C has 143 GB total capacity, 16.3 GB of which is used, and is an NTFS disk.
    2. Lenovo's ThinkVantage Create Recovery Media had no problem reading the drive and creating a bootable CD and backup DVDs.
    3. Likewise, Acronis True Image Home 9.0 successfully backed up both Drive C (Pri, Acct, 143.4 GB capacity, NTFS) as well as SERVICEV001 (Pri, 5.679 GB capacity), FAT 32 Partition: 0x12 (Compaq Setup).
Here's what is NOT normal:  I'm unable to partition the drive with a) PowerQuest's Partition Magic 8, with b) GParted 3.9-13, with c) Easeus Partition Manager 3, or with d) Paragon Partition Manager 9 (demo version). Below are the error messages received.
    a) Partition Info (a tool within Partition Magic) informs me that “Disk Geometry errors were found”:
Error #105: Partition didn't begin on head boundary.  ucBeginHead expected to be 0 or 1, not 32.
Error #106: Partition didn't begin on head boundary.  ucBeginSector expected to be 1, not 33.
Error #109: Partition ends after end of disk.  ucEndCylinder (20673) must be less than 20673.
Partition Magic itself doesn't even initialize: “Error 117, Partition's Drive Letter cannot be identified.”
    b) GParted saw ONE large unallocated and unformatted space, but refused to let me to do anything with it other than have the program reconfigure the MBR and thus delete every file on my drive. On other forum threads GParted was highly recommended because it can partition a Lenovo drive and leave the Service Partition intact, but on my HD it can't even see the Service Partition.
    c) Easeus Partition Manager simply saw one Primary Local Disk which it labeled "BAD DISK." Its size is 149.05 GB, ALL of which is used. Status = "none" (I have no idea what that means.)
    d) Paragon's PM refused to create a new partition because "Basic Hard Disk 0 already contains four primary partitions. Basic hard disks can contain only four primary partitions, including extended one." Other screens gave much detail about what it thought were 3 primary partitions, all of which have "Invalid" file systems and "No label." One of the start sectors was 33, the other 46.
So my question is, what do you suggest I do now, other than drink a lot of eggnog while I hope that Santa brings me a new HD I can partition?  ;-)
I’m not an expert on computers, so please forgive me in advance for asking stupid questions. Here’s the first one: did ThinkVantage’s “create recovery media” backup the Windows XP files that came from the factory, or the ones I painstakingly updated after several hours of Windows Updates? (I did run it AFTER doing the updates!)
Many thanks in advance, and happy holidays to those who are celebrating at this time.
    Lena
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Bottom line for whoever else has the same problem in the future:
Booted with a GParted CD, allowed it to rebuild the partition table, and to build the partitions I wanted. (The latter was a waste of time, because when I restored Windows using Rescue & Recovery, the partitions GParted had built were gone.) If all GParted sees is unallocated space, program it to create only a C partition and rebuild the partition table.
I very strongly suggest redundant backups prior to this procedure. I backed up using R&R to *both* CD/DVD and USB HD. I ordered the boot sequence (press F12) as USB HD followed by USB CD. I'd tested the CD but not the HD. And yikes, the USB HD refused to boot. Fortunately I had the CD, which enabled me to boot, and the HD, which enabled me to restore the files more quickly than the DVDs would.
Windows was restored to the way I had configured it (with other programs I'd installed, including Partition Magic). The Service Partition was there, hidden as it should be, accessible from the Blue ThinkVantage Button, but smaller than it used to be. I immediately created a new R&R backup on the local HD.
Then I used PowerQuest's Partition Magic 8.01 to create the partitions I wanted. PM worked like it should. My guess is that any partitioning program would.
Finito. Thanks, Soap, for confirming my impression that this would require a disk wipe.

  • G5 Starts Up Fine But Doesn't Start Monitor Consistently! I'm stumped!

Hello all. I just purchased a new Mac Pro. My G5 has been problematic for a number of months now even under Leopard. I replaced the internal battery, have done PMU and zapped PRAM and nothing solved my problem. The problem has been: It takes me at least 2 pushes of the power button but sometimes 3 or more to get video on my 20" Cinema Display. This only happens at the start of the day.
Upon receiving the Mac Pro, I zeroed out the G5 hard drive in preparation for sale on eBay but I wanted to make sure that it would start consistently for the new owner. That is the only problem I've ever had with the G5. I then installed Tiger and all the associated upgrades but zero additional software.
I connected to a Samsung monitor with its own cable. I was gone for the weekend, came home and G5 and monitor started up beautifully first time. Great, I thought. This morning, three fresh starts off the G5 power button started everything up just fine but the monitor did not come on. The computer boots up but the monitor does not come on. After one PRAM zap, up it came just fine. I reseated the two 512MB RAM sticks, pressed the PMU button once and and hoping for better things but I can't figure this out as the computer otherwise runs fine. I thought it might have been a pesky .KEXT file or something but a zeroing of the hard drive and installation of Tiger should have fixed that, true?
Anyway, I want to make sure the new owner will have a trouble-free computer.
Any suggestions on how I might fix this problem, and, indeed what the problem might be? It appears that the monitor cables and the two monitors are fine as they work fine with other computers. I always thought this was some sort of third party issue but with the newly installed Tiger and updates that's eliminated. Might it be a problem with the graphics card?
    This one has me stumped!
    Thanks in advance!

Oh right. Those are the ones suggested in the HAF 932 case manual. I've used what I think are:
    http://images.devshed.com/dh/stories/Building_System_Scratch/scews.jpg
Or am I wrong?? Thanks for your help!
Yes, those appear to be correct one, but they look different than in your photo.
So does the mainboard can boot fine when its outside PC case?
Before mount the mainboard to the PC case:
Motherboard Grounding to case causing No Post
Test the motherboard outside of the case to verify that the motherboard is not shorting to the case and causing a problem
         •    With only the CPU and heat sink, memory, and video card (or onboard video) connected to the motherboard, place the motherboard on a non-conductive surface and retest the motherboard
         •    Check the case mounting standoffs to verify that they are lining up correctly with the mounting holes on the motherboard.

  • Pre/Post Fader Metering. Stumped...

I'm recording some test tones into Logic so that when I go to another studio next week I can calibrate the gain controls on the other studio's mixing board to be the same as mine (we have the same boards, BTW).
Although I normally have pan law set to -3dB compensated, I set the pan law to 0dB to record my test tones.
After recording the tones, I switched back to -3dB compensated and noticed the following behavior of the audio channel's meters which I can't understand. I've never been very good at this whole level thing, so I'm hoping someone can 'splain it to me. Here's the behavior:
Again, with pan law set to -3dB compensated...
On the left is my audio channel 1 showing my test tone playing back from Logic, metering set to post-fade. Note the peak level (3.4 dB) as well as the visual level of the LED ladder on the meter. Now, compare that to the image on the right, which is the same audio channel 1, but with metering switched to pre-fade. You can see that the peak level is now displayed as 3 dB hotter (6.4 dB), but the LED ladder displays a lower level.
Furthermore, it's apparently necessary to manually clear the overload indicators to see an updated numerical display after switching from post-fade to pre-fade metering. If this is not done, then when switching to pre-fade metering, the meter's LED ladder display appears to drop but the numerical readout doesn't change (stays at 3.4 dB). This is really confusing to me.
So I'm stumped. It's probably obvious, but still, I'm stumped. Can anyone explain this behavior?
    -=iS=-

    Hi iSchwartz,
<quote>o I think I get it now... When the pan is dead center, I'm seeing the peak level of -6.4. When panned left, the meter rises to -3.4, and I guess I'm witnessing the "compensated" part of the panning law. Is that right?</quote>
Yes indeed that is the compensation. This comes from the analog days when one would pan dead center, and end up having to reduce the level of the signal by about 3dB,when mixing especially. This only occurred on certain consoles,I cannot tell you which ones,I don't remember.I am glad Logic has this feature,as mixing with and without it creates very different results. It depends on what analog console you were brought up with, which way you would like the panning law to behave like.
It would be interesting to see how the compensation alters the levels throughout the panorama, but that would take a lot of time to test out.Maybe when I have some spare time I'll do some basics like dead center, -10,+10,etc... and see what the levels come out to be.
    Cheers,

  • Not hard to stump the iTunes Store

I found the perfect way to stump the iTunes Store, and I found a design flaw in the process...
I tried to look up a popular country/pop music song from 1981: "Somebody's Knockin'" by John Marshall.
To quote the first verse of the song...
"Somebody's knockin... should I let him in,
Lord it's the devil... would you look at him
I've heard about him but I never dreamed,
he'd have blue eyes and blue jeans..."
I can find lyrics for this on the web (apparently, it's popular in square-dancing circles to this day) but not on iTunes. When I tried looking it up on the iTunes Store, it listed a bunch of unrelated artists, including a Jazz artist by the same name.
There wasn't a clear avenue to provide feedback to Apple, either.

    Hi,
You're right, it is Terri Gibbs. And the live version sounds terrible! (from the short preview). Here is the link I found to request artists/provide feedback, etc:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93048
    Hope that helps.

  • Sdo_util.simplify - Error? Bug? Totally stumped !

    Hi folks,
    I have a confusing problem/error with using sdo_util.simplify. I am using Oracle 11G R2 with Spatial Option.
I have loaded just over 2000 UK postown polygons - based on an OS source. These loaded fine and have been working perfectly well with spatial sql.
The source data specifies the projection as British National Grid GCS_OSGB_1936 and the SRID within the Oracle metadata was correctly (i believe) determined (by calculate mbr) and set to 7405 - OSGB36 / British National Grid
I can view the polygons perfectly fine in SqlDeveloper/GeoRaptor and if export them to KML and view them in Google Earth they position and display exactly as I would expect.
All other spatial functions I have tried on the polygons work fine.
The problem comes when I try and use sdo_util.simplify to reduce the number of co-ordinates used on the polygons :
    select sdo_util.simplify(poly_hi,100,0.005)
    from posttown_boundaries;

I've tried various threshold and tolerance values ( the only threshold value that works is 0 which returns the same geometry.
I have successfully used the sdo_util.simpify functions on the other spatial objects in the database so I don't believe it to be a database setup issue.
When I run a validate geometry on the table for the geometry column I get the ORA-13029: Invalid SRID in the SDO_GEOMETRY object.
However, as explained above the SRID was selected and checked using calculate MBR and it matches exactly what I would have expected given the source data and i have not found any other issues with the SRID.
The error can be reproduced without any of the source tables by just taking one small polygon definition as follows:
    select sdo_util.simplify(
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(
    2003,7405,NULL,MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,1),

    Am totally stumped with this!
Can anyone offer any thoughts or guidance?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Mike.

    Hi Mike,
Usually someone jumps in early with the "geometry ain't valid" answer so I am late to the party. When I attempt to validate your 7405 geometry using 11gR2, I receive back error 13029.
    SELECT
    SDO_GEOM.VALIDATE_GEOMETRY_WITH_CONTEXT(
       MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(
          2003,
          7405,
          NULL,
          MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,1),
          MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(
             407207.997315803,287087.001455892,
             406802.999914517,286916.000404434,

       0.005
    FROM
dualThe error indicates that SRID 7405 "is invalid" which is not really all that informative. As you note above 7405 exists in MDSYS but its marked as a COMPOUND CRS which to keep it simple is a 3D CRS.
    (see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28400/sdo_cs_concepts.htm#autoId18)
Thus "invalid" in this context means the SRID is invalid for the geometry you are putting it upon.
So if we just add a Z to your geometry everything works hunky-dory
    SELECT
    SDO_GEOM.VALIDATE_GEOMETRY_WITH_CONTEXT(

dualSo long-winded way to reiterate what Ivan said - you are using the wrong SRID. 10g was more forgiving than 11g when mixing and matching 3D and 2D SRIDs with data. 11g is more picky but not always that great at explaining the pickiness. I would bet if you had got back an error such as "2D coordinates not valid with 3D SRID" you would never have needed to post the question. I would suggest putting in an enhancement request to Support for some better error messages.
    Cheers,

  • Labview Application missing SubVI's, totally stumped

Hello. I am working on a VI that is a simple thermocouple datalogger. I have created it in Labview 2013 (latest patch) on a Windows 7 Machine. It works correctly on the development machine with Labview installed. It uses custom drivers for an Advantech USB 4718 data acqusition module. These drivers were downloaded directly from the manufacturer.
When I build an application and copy it over to a different machine (running windows 8) I get a laundry list of missing SubVIs when I try to run it (see image). This is despite installing all relevant data aquisition drivers (I have verified that the module works with the manufacturers own daq software) the latest version of Labview 2013 run time engine, DAQmx, etc.... I can't think of anything else that should be installed but Im totally stumped.
Anything else I can try? Is it because the Dev machine is windows 7 but the application machine is windows 8? I'm new to building applications from labview, so I'm not sure what I may be missing. Thank you.
    Error Message(s)

It seems that most of these VIs are used by the DAQNaviAssistant from Advantech.
You should ask Advantech if there are known issues when building executables in LV which contain these ExpressVIs.
Also, you can re-build your EXE without optimizing the EXE content by de-selecting all checkmarks on the "Additional Exclusions" tab. It is possible that one of these options remove these subVIs.
What bothers me is that it runs on the development machine... which indicates that the EXE itself should really contain everything what it needs (except driver functions, namely DLLs of course).
