Stupid Mac OS 10.4 and Quicktime Questions

How can I get the intro video on Tiger to play again. I just reinstalled tiger and was going through the setup process and it played the little welcome vid.
About Quicktime
When there is a quicktime update that is like for example qt 7.0.1 to 7.0.2 do i have to buy a new pro key everytime they have a little update like that>
Thanks

1. Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and enter /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup Assistant.app/ as the folder's location. When this folder has appeared, reopen the Go to Folder window and enter Contents/Resources/TransitionSection.bundle/Contents/Resources/ If the folder doesn't appear, rerun the first command with everything after CoreServices removed, control-click the Setup Assistant, choose Show Package Contents, and continue from there. The file you want is named intro.mov.
2. No.

  • Mac g4 ppc itunes and quicktime

I have a Mac g4 ppc laptop and cannot find what versions of itunes and quicktime it will support. The new itunes will not open and the quicktime will not update. Can anyone help?

To get more information about your computer, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  If requested copy and paste the information here but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

  • IMovie and QuickTime question ?

PLEAE CAN YOU HELP ME IN THIS QUESTION, WHEN USING IMAGE SEQUENCE IN iMovie AND QuickTime Pro, AND IF YOU HAVE IMAGES VERTICAL AND ONES HORIZONTAL, THE SEQUENCE TAKES THE SHAPE OF THE FIRST IMAGE AND USES IT FOR ALL OTHER IMAGES. SO IF FIRST IMAGE IS VERTICAL ALL CONSEQUENT IMAGES ARE VERTICAL. HOW CAN WE MAKE THE SEQUENCE TAKE THE SHAPE OF EACH IMAGE INDIVIADUALLY IRRESPECTIVE OF THE FIRST IMAGE IN THE SEQUENCE.
    Thanks a lot

same here: I'm not a 100%, what iwaddah tries to accomplish, I stumble over "QTpro" and "image sequence"...
QTpro allows the conversion of a socalled image sequence into a dv; e.g. you do cellpaintings for a toon, you open that sequence - voila! => video...
    buuuuut:
these files have all to be the same size, rotation, aspect ratio and have to fullfill some specs in naming (consequtive, pic001, pic002...)
my guess, iwaddah's sequence does not fullfill all that; if the first pic is "portrait" (not landscape, video is 4:3), the final video will probably "squash" all pics... (never tried that)

  • Autorun on Macs from CD-Rom and Hybrid question

    Hello all,
I just got comissioned to design and develop a small
flash-based CD-Rom project. The client is interested in having the
CD-Rom presentation auto start/run when placed in the cd-rom drive.
I know how to do this for a pc, but how would I accomplish this for
    a mac?
    1) Is it possible to do? I thought I read somewhere that Max
OS X disabled autorun for CD's.
    2) Are there differences (if it can be done) between PowerPC
    Macs and Intel-based Macs?
    3) If I publish a swf file (and burn) it from a PowerPC base
mac running OS X will it work on an Intel based one?
Thanks in advance for any help and/or direction.
    - Mr. Moo

It's been a while since we did a cross-platform autorun (it
was right about the time that OsX first released).
If I remember correctly we used NorthCode's SWF Studio for
the PC side, and a seperate Flash Projector for the Mac side.
We had to write a small piece of applescript to perform
essentially the same function that the autorun.inf file on Windows
    handles.
The autorun function was dependant on the user having
    Quicktime and recent carbonlib installed.
We used a product called MacImage to build hybrid mac/iso
cd-images that could then be burned from Windows PC.
Sorry I can't give any more up-to-date specifics, but maybe
some of that will be mildly helpful.

  • NVidia Quadro 4500 for mac and pc question

I am thinking of purchasing a new Mac Pro 3.0GHz Quad-Core desktop with the nVidia Quadro 4500 graphics card. I want to run Solidworks on Windows XP SP2 and also be able to boot into Mac OS X. I have done hours of research trying to make sure it will work but can't seem to find any posts that suggest my system will work as I intend.
I have found out that the nVidia Quadro 4500 needs to configured for the mac (firmware) and that you just can't buy one from eBay and install it. There are PC versions and Mac versions. Also, flashing it to work with a mac is very difficult and may damage the card if you get it wrong. Not something I want to do.
So, my question is: If I buy this Mac Pro from Apple with the nVidia Quadro 4500 card already installed, will I have any problems with it working on the window side of things when I boot into Windows XP? Does anyone have the setup that I am talking about and also running SolidWorks on the Windows side?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
    Yee Ha!

    Hi,
Mac OS X Leopard has Boot Camp included with the software. I have read online (Apple site amongst others) the BootCamp bundled with Leopard has all the drivers for Windows included, so you no longer need to create a disc with the drivers needed for Windows (as you did under the BootCamp beta version).
That being the case, Leopard should have the required drivers for your Quadro FX 4500 to function under Windows.
    See here for details:
    http://www.apple.com/uk/macosx/features/bootcamp.html
    Hope this helps

With the updates came iTunes 11.1.1 and Quicktime 7.6.6. I am still using Garageband 2008 and iPhoto 2008. When I create music in Garageband I usually adjust the volume and save it. Even now when I share the Garageband created files with iTunes 11.1.1, the volime I previously set in Garageband is retained. However, when I use the music to create a slide show in iPhoto 2008 and export to Quicktime 7.6.6, the volume level I previously set is lost and seems to default to a low level. The problem seems to be either in the slide show export from iPhoto 2008 to Quicktime 7.6.6 or in Quicktime itself. Is there a work around, so that I can retain the volume level I had previously set in Garageband, a volume level that seems to transfer without problem to the new iTunes. But then iPhoto 2008 (slide show) possibly or Quicktime 7.6.6 do not cooperate. Before I did the upgrade to Snow Leopard, the new iTunes and Quicktime I had no problems with the set volume being retained in the old Quicktime. The reason I need control over the volume is that all these music files are uploaded to YouTube.

    Hi All Masters,
I'm a beginner of CS3 and a mac user, here I got a question looking for some help.
Does anyone know there's a work for editing the photo to painting styles such as watercolor painting, oil painting, pastel drawing, colored pencil or pencil sketching in Adobe serials ?
If not, does anyone know any software offering these features,

The best overall art styles plugin for PS is probably AlienSkin's SnapArt. I'd say their filters are a cut above Photoshop's which are old and have never been updated.
    http://www.alienskin.com/snapart/snapart_examples.aspx
That being said, the best painterly interpretations of photographs I've ever seen are done with Painter.

There is a basic version sort of like Photoshop Elements which is still better than Photoshop for artistically rendering photos into 'paintings.'

On my mac I have both Quicktime X and Quicktime 7 pro. Both applications seem to be crashing quite often lately. This happens when playing all files types. I notice it more with .flv file. It usually happens when i grab the time slider bar and try to move it. The apps will freeze and I have to "force quit" to get them to close. Sometimes putting the computer to sleep and waking it up helps. Is there a way to remedy this?

  • On start up my mac is showing a folder and flashing question mark sign?

On start up my mac shows a folder sign & flashing question mark?? Help and Why??

Question (?) Mark, Blinking Folder, or Gray Screen at Startup
These are related but not identical issues. Their causes are outlined in Intel-based Mac- Startup sequence and error codes, symbols. Solutions may be found in:
A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac
Mac OS X- Gray screen appears during startup
In most cases the problems may be caused by:
Problem with the computer's PRAM - See Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM.
Boot drive's directory has been corrupted - Repair with Disk Utility.
Critical system files are damaged or deleted - Reinstall OS X.
The disk drive is physically non-functional - Replace the hard drive.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
The main difference if you are using Lion or Mountain Lion is that you must first boot from the Recovery HD:
    Boot From The Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstall Snow Leopard Without Erasing The drive
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing The Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

There actually is a type of "pointer" native to iOS. it's part of the AssistiveTouch feature,  used to replicate multitouch gestures with one finger. You just can't control it with a mouse.
Anyway, as far as I can discern the iPad does not use nanotechnology in any part of its construction.

  • Boot Camp Question .... I just bought a 2013 late model Mac Book Pro Retina and am wondering if it is worth installing windows through boot camp. If I install the windows component in order to run an exe file and its component "Declans Korean Flash Cards"

I just bought a 2013 late model Mac Book Pro Retina and am wondering if it is worth installing windows through boot camp.
If I install the windows component in order to run an exe file and its component "Declans Korean Flash Cards"... will it make my mac suseptible to viruses overall due to having a windows component? also will it make my mac slower as well

If you are only going to use one or two window only programs then I wouldn't waste the space.  Try WinonX it allows you to install exe. Files on Mac without installing windows.
