Stupid slow downloads and uploads

Help please
Right now I am uploading a file using Fetch. The average speed is 342 bytes/s (no K here, just bytes). That's an hour and a half for a 1.3mb file. It takes 15 seconds to one minute everytime I click on a link on this site. I keep iStat on my desk so I can keep track of my lack of speed. Usually when browsing download average is about 5Kb/s. Exceptions are when I do speed tests ( Verizon 12 KB/s DSL reports 172Kb/s now) and my iStat jumps up to over 100 KB/s momentarily. Keep in mind that I am doing all of this at 3am est -- not exactly prime time. The other thing is that if I use Limewire to download (legal) files, it will maintain over 100 KB/s for an extended period. I have also tried all of the Verizon stuff -- shut down everything for 2 minutes then start the router then computer, no help. This is a new Intel iMac, no firewall, 10.4.10 wired to the DSL router, no firewall, on Verizon 768 mb service. I tried pinging Apple.com (from Florida_ and the range was from 106 ms to 279 ms
Any ideas? this has gotten noticably worse over the past week or 2

G5 Dual 1.8 PPC Firewire Powerbook G3 Emac Apple II Mac OS X (10.4.9) 2 broken PC's

check the DNS settings on this DSL router, if you can get to the admin panel.
check the DNS settings in your mac.
find openDNS website, use their numbers, see if this helps.
Go into SysPrefs>Sharing>firewall>Advanced...make sure there are no checks ticked there.
Instead of pinging, use "Traceroute" (use apple.com again) in NetworkUtility, and see if you can tell where it looks like things 'slow down', if you can.
Then repeat that test using IP address 17.254.3.183
Not sure what might have happened in the past week or two, but something [sounds like it] did.

  • Slow download and upload speed through vpn+samba

I`m connecting to Lenovo  EMC PX12-450r through a vpn connection. The upload and the download speed are maximum 350kb/s. If i connect through the same vpn and copy files to another samba server within the same network the speeds are ok. Are there any settings that i`m missing?
Laptop - VPN Client - SonicWall - Lenovo EMC PX12-450r = low speeds
Laptop - VPN Client - SonicWall - Windows with writeable file sharing = speeds OK
Laptop - VPN Client - SonicWall - Linux with samba writeable directory = speeds OK

    Hello darkmac
If the unit's local Samba transfer speeds seem normal, then the issue would most likely be on the VPN server or your firewall settings.
From the device end you would want to double check that you have the correct DNS, gateway, vlan, etc configurations
If the unit's Samba transfer speeds seem to be slow locally as well I recommend cycling the Samba (windows file sharing/cifs) protocol in the web interface to see if that corrects the issue.
Another item to check into is if the Media server features is enabled.  It can cause noticable performance drops to other protocols when enabled.

  • Slow Download and Upload speeds ADSL1

For weeks now my internet has been slow. When I tried to downlaod an update to my GPS with and estimated time of 2hours 32 minutes, I blew my stack when the time was shown to be over 300 hours. Ran Speedtest and I get 0.7Mbps at best, often less than that. Tried the chat facility and it timed out while chatting to Hazel because the download stopped altogether. SO I telephoned (surprised something from Telstra actually worked) and logged a complaint. The chap said someone would call me with 18 hours. Well, you can guess. What am I to do? Telstra has the infrastructure here and I feel trapped: they do not call me and I have no alternative. Any suggestions?

    Hi dmacster,
I apologise for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused you. Please speak to technical support team with your complaint number and we can check on the complaint status for you.

  • What causes ipad/iphones wireless slow download and high upload?

Does anyone know what causes ipad/iphones wireless to have slow download and high upload? Tried using linksys e3000 and linksys ea6500 and ipads/iphones get approximatly 1Mbps Down and about 5Mbps Up. Macbook pro gets 46Mbps down and 5Mbps Up and is consistent. Does anyone have any wireless settings such as channel width and frequency that works best?

I have no idea, but i would not buy another apple device as of now.  I have 2 iphones (3GS, 4) and an iPad 2 on my home wifi.  They usually get between 1-5mb speeds on wifi (i have a 50mb connection).  I tested my laptop, 50+mb, my android phone 25mb+, yet every apple device on its best moment gets 5...usually 3 or lower.
I've tried everything...Different channels, WMM/QOS on/off, Wireless N only, Wireless G/N, i have a wireless N Verizon Fios router, i've shut wireless off on that and hooked up a D-link 655...tried everything, and still the sucky speeds.  It's set to WPA2/AES.  I can not even watch an HD youtube video without it pausing every few seconds.
Apple is no help, Verizon is no help...i'm completely out of ideas.

  • Brand new MacBook Pro has really slow download and streaming speeds

I'm new to Macs, and don't know much about computers in general. But I got a 13" MacBook Pro almost two weeks ago and have been experiencing really slow download and video streaming speeds. Pages load one image at a time, Netflix is almost impossible to use because the videos will stop buffering every five minutes even if I let them buffer for more than ten minutes. I haven't been experiencing any issues with wifi on my phone, and I've troubleshot our router. I'm not sure what it could be--but then again, I don't know a whole lot. Before I go running off to the Apple Store or call support, is there anything I can try in the meantime? Thanks!
    Here are the system specs:
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics  Intel Iris
    Software  OS X 10.9.3 (13D65)
74.23 GB free out of 120.47 GB

Check with your isp regarding your download & upload speeds as well as streaming.  You need to determine if the issue is on their end.  You can also check on the speedtest.com website.  Compare what your isp tells you to the net speed website.

After hours of back-up, downloading and uploading...I am now updated with all the latest Mac software. However, I no longer have access to Excel and Word. Is there a way I can access my documents in either of those? Help, please.

If you have older versions of excel and word that previously ran under the Rosetta emulator (allows PowerPC code to run on Intel system), they will no longer work with Lion.
You can use the Apple programs Pages and Numbers to access the files. They can be bought and downloaded from the App store. NeoOffice is available at http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php which has Lion support. OpenOffice doesn't talk to Lion support, it's at http://www.openoffice.org/

  • PO header attachment download and upload

    Hi All,
I have requirement to download the attachments attached at Purchase Orders(PO) header level . And then from the downloaded file , I further want to upload it to another target system.
I have already uploaded the PO at target system but header level attachments were missed out.
My source and target system is in Ver 4.6C
    Please let me know -
    1. All tables that are involved in storing the attachments at header level for purchase orders. With this I can upload attachments directly to the target system tables.
2.Any Function module for download and upload the attachments of PO at header level.
I will appreciate any help to do this .
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hi ,
Thanks for suggestion.I Have used FM SO_ATTACHMENT_INSERT to insert Attachment. SOOD table is getting updated. But still PO header level attachment is missing. I think FM only update the table SOOD and do not ensure to put the attachment to the right Purchase order.
Please let me know if you have an Idea how to put attachments to PO header level.Let me know tables that can be directly updated in order to attach the attachment to PO header level.
    Thanks
    Deepak

  • Hierarchy download and upload

    Hi experts,
i want to download hierarchies from production bw to development bw. pls explain me the procedure how to do. as i understand hierarchies will be in the r/3 system. then how do i download them and upload them to the required box in bw. is there any function module for downloading and uploading hierarchies.
    Pls help.....

    Hello,
To execute the program you have to run it in transaction se38.
Check if you have it since it is Z you might not have it.
If you don't find it create in se38 a new program with the following code:
    *& Report  Z_SAP_HIERARCHY_DOWNLOAD                                    *
    * SAP Consulting BW Tools:

I have the requirement to download and upload the smartforms in 4.6c. I need the help, which standard function module will solve the problem.
    Thanks .
    Vinayak.

    Hi,
Use Transaction "Smartforms" -->Enter Smartform Name
    -> Utilities> Download form
This will down load smartform in XML format.
Use the Utilities--> Upload for upload the form .
Please sure the upload file is in XML format.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Download and Upload(!) ABAP-Source and DDIC-Objects?

    Hi,
is there a standard transaction or third party tool
to download and upload(!!) ABAP-Source (function modules,
function groups, module pools, reports...) and DDIC-Objects
(tables, structures, data elements) to a local file system?
In terms of uploading these objects it would be desirable
that the transaction/tool creates packages/development classes/.. on its own.
I would need that to copy the same source and ddic-objcets to different customer systems without doing it "manually" everytime.
    Does anyone know advice?
    Thank you,
    Bernhard

  • Download and upload of file to server dir (AL11)

    Hello,
I have a custom program that is downloading files from application server directory (they are like templates) to user local pc. User is then modifying such files and finally upload them in another AS directory.
The program is currently making use of FM's C13Z_FILE_DOWNLOAD_BINARY and  C13Z_FILE_UPLOAD_BINARY.
There was no problem until hot packages have been implemented: now such FM's are returning an error saying:
    Internal program error; (YDOWNLOAD SAPLC13Z 0 C13Z_RAWDATA_WRITE)
When in debug, it appears that the FM C13Z_RAWDATA_WRITE (called by the above mentioned FM's) is checking the calling program (sy-cprog) and if this latter is not within a list of standard programs (hardcoded), then the error is thrown.
My question is: Is there another way to download and upload files without such error? Could you please share the code?
Thanks a lot for help and suggestions!
    Best regards,
    JFlanders

    Hello,
    Please see note   1809258 - Internal program error; ( <program name> SAPLC13Z 0 C13Z_RAWDATA_READ )
A possibile solution is to use cl_gui_frontend_services class methods like gui_download and gui_upload, for instance:
    TYPES: t_line(1) type x.
DATA: i_tab TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF t_line,
        i_wa(1) type x.
OPEN DATASET lv_file_appl FOR INPUT IN BINARY MODE.
    DO.
      CLEAR i_wa.
      READ DATASET lv_file_appl INTO i_wa.
      IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
        EXIT.
      ELSE.
        APPEND i_wa TO i_tab.
      ENDIF.
    ENDDO.
    CLOSE DATASET lv_file_appl.
    DATA: lv_fn TYPE string.
    lv_fn = lv_file_name.
    CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
      EXPORTING

This is for the download, similarly should be done for the upload.
Hope this could help. Let me know if further details are needed.

  • Download and upload program

    Hello to everybody,
I'm looking for a standard program that can download and upload program' source codes. I found the program REPTRAN (in SAP release 6.0) that can only download the source code (with the include as well), but i didn't find the upload one.
So, does anyone knows if exist a standard program that can download source codes (comprensive of include) and upload it as well?
    Thanks and bye..

  • Download and Upload Modulepool program

    hai all,
Could any one say how to Download and Upload Modulepool program from sap.
    Thanks,
    Jeevan.

    Hi Puduru
    Welcome to ABAP forums.
If you just want to export Module pool program once, you can use transaction SE80 and menu point Utilities->More Utilities->Upload/Download->Download option ( for each include / component ).
Save it as a text file and then repeat the same process.
Here's other programs for the same functionality. You can use one of them.
